We arrived at 9 AM and check in was quick and simple. staff are very friendly, and no big push for Timeshare spiels, just decline to go to the "special celebration" . We didn't think we would get a room until after 3 PM but was told it would be ready in 1 hr. Rooms are very spacious, and A/C works excellent, even had to turn it down:) Bed was very comfortable and a good selection of different pillows to suit your needs. We had a ground floor unit, which is actually 5 ft off the ground to ke[... read more]ep the critters out I suspect. Grounds are beautiful, well kept and even though it is a large complex, very easy to get around. Tried 4 of the restaurants, and all were very good with the Thai Siam being the favorite. The lemongrass and shrimp soup is amazing! Spent most of the time on the beach, but did the on site Dolphin show[ a must do] and 2 excursions, 1 to EkBalam/ Cenote Maya , as we had already done all of the other ruins on previous trips. Very well done, although it is an all day outing. We also took the bus to Playa Del Carmen, then the ferry across to Cozumel for the day to meetup with another couple on vacation. Hint, take the yellow ferry and don't pay the extra to upgrade, just a wast of money. The Friday night Rock n Roll show was excellent as well as the other nightly shows which start at 9, after the little ones are in bed:) All in all , a perfect getaway and would return anytime..

Excellent vacation!!!!
We booked this resort last minute, and it was an excellent choice!
The room was pretty and modern but still had a tropical feel, it was very clean. The check in was quick and the bell boy was friendly and informative as he drove us to our room.
The drinks were delicious, seriously yummy!!! And the service everywhere was the best. It is a huge resort so we could always find a quiet corner. Even the other travelers we met were friendly and interesting but not intrusive. The beach is beautiful, [... read more]and it has a couple of shallow areas great for little ones or people who take a little longer to get comfortable in the ocean (I’m a bit of a chicken) but once you do it’s pretty shallow quite a ways out. You will need water shoes, it’s a small inconvenience to prevent your foot from getting hurt. But seriously as nervous as I was I loved the beach and we spent most of our days there. There is wait service on the beach, and those girls work their buts off (seriously tip your servers) we would order 2 drinks at a time and drink one and put the other in a to go coffee cup (bring one on every all inclusive)
Love the beach.
The quiet pool was another good spot, you feel surrounded by jungle and there is lots of shade, great spot if you need rest from too much vacation.
The lazy river and ice cream parlour were bothe delightful!!! Just awesome!!! Oh ant the 2 person jacuzzi tub in every room was delightful.
Now the stuff that wasn’t the best.
The food....
The buffet was, well buffet. Everything is kinda plain and over cooked but there was a few good items every night. Some of my favourites were, the salmon, the wings (delicious) I can live off bread and cheese and there was some every meal, all the fresh fruit especially pineapple!!! And desserts are always good. The biggest disappointment was the Mexican food, it was not good, it was bad. Just bland and soggy and it all had soooo much refried beans and it was all you could taste. This is something I think the resort should fix ASAP.
The specialty restaurants were only mildly better. We went to the steakhouse, my salmon was over cooked, my BF steak was good but they just had a buffet of sides similar to the buffet. It was ok. The Brazilian.... it was ok, they served the chicken wings from the buffet but stuck them on the squewer but after they were done so they were mangled chicken wings??? The other meats were ok but they only give you a small piece of each, the sausage is the same from the beach bar b q.... just not terrible but not great. The last one was the Japanese, just a little to salty otherwise good, and the cooks were entertaining, dessert was fried ice cream. Not exactly Japanese but really good.
Another miss step was although the rooms were beautiful the mattress was bad the springs were very pokey and my BF is a tosser and turner and always manages to wreck the bed and ours had a huge stain... like I’m pretty sure someone was murdered or gave birth.... again something that needs to be fixed, the maid did give us a mattress cover.....(I understand some people would throw a fit in this situation but really the mattress had been cleaned, and what’s the point, you might get a different room? It’s gross but it was fine)
We loved all the wild life so cool to see iguanas and Coati, there are monkeys but we didn’t see them..... but the cats 😕 I love cats I really do and it is genius to bring cats to the resort to keep away rats and mice... but some of these little kitties were in rough shape, and were way to thin. They also need to be fixed, there was several kittens, and the population could get out of hand quickly.
These cats are not feral and like a little attention but do not pick them up, just a couple of pets on the head and We gave them fish and chicken when we could.
And they do bite when scared so keep your kids away.
Don’t go to the travel club presentation no matter what they offer you it’s a waste of your day. Just don’t!
Well there is so much more but I’ll end this here. I would recommend this resort to families and couples, and party people!

Fun stay for our friends' destination wedding
The resort was clean and accommodating. We felt well taken care of and were part of a large group so we were never bored.
The buffet food was not good, however the Japanese a la carte was delicious. If we had known how good it was, we would have booked that for each of our a la carte meals.
All of the staff were friendly, particularly the bar staff in the pools. We spent the whole week drinking the Blue Lagoons and the Pink Lemonades.
The pools were great, but the beach left something [... read more]to be desired. It is quite small and we weren't able to swim for the time we were there due to the flags. If you're expecting a long stretch of white sand, you may need to re-evaluate. The beach was fine, just not what we were expecting.
Overall, we are not fussy people so it would have taken a lot to upset us. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved my Stay
I stayed at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya January 14 to the 21st 2019.
I am a service orientated kind of guy. Love good service. I would have to say my stay here was beyond a doubt the best service I have ever received at a resort. The staff was consistently perfectional and very polite. I found the staff to be genuinely kind people by nature. They would not hesitate to go above and beyond for any requests I would have or questions. The thing
that stood out to me, was they sincerely enjo[... read more]yed their jobs. Can't say enough good about the wonderful service here.
The resort itself is beautiful, spread over a large area. Plenty of activities to explore and do. My room was spacious and well appointed. First time I have ever thought to myself the room looked better in person than the pictures from their website. Pools spread out the resort, nice beach area as well.
The food was delicious. They have a good central smorg area and I would safely say there would be something to please everyone. Plenty of ala cart restaurants to choose from as well. Thought it was great. Plenty of selection.
I seen some local wild life through out the resort. Loved that. Seen some agouti, racoons, tropical birds, iguana's, coati and if you keep your eyes open in the trees very possible you will see some spider monkeys. Good snorkeling in the beach area as well.
I would say my visit here was as close to a perfect vacation as it gets for me. I also would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone considering this place. I'll be back...

We love this resort!!
This was our 3rd time to the Grand Sirenis and it hasn't disappointed yet. The newly renovated rooms give the resort a fresh look. The beds are super comfortable. The food is fantastic. If you are a BBQ lover, I would suggest hitting the beach BBQ for lunch.
The entertainment staff is some of the best I have seen at any resort. The shows are fantastic. I also enjoy the weekly market. There is always something going on. There is a quiet pool, I am not sure what goes on there. I walked by it [... read more]a couple of times, it is pretty quiet. A daily visit to the lazy river is a must. If you are a bigger person such as myself, I would suggest taking your own floaty.
As special shout out to Gil of the entertainment staff and Oscar at the swim up bar. You guys are awesome. Thanks for keeping me going all week. You guys do a great job.

Decent Resort
We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms, there wasn’t enough drawers to put away our clothing but the room itself was very nice and clean thanks to the amazing house cleaning staff.
This resort was clean, staff was friendly, food was decent. The Japanese restaurant was outstanding, the best of the a la crate restaurants. The coffee was terrible, totally undrinkable I went into Palya de Carmen and purchased my own.
The nightly entertainment was great, some of the best I’ve seen.
Be[... read more]ach was good for sun tanning and swimming but not for waking; however the trails around the resort were lovely.

Nice resort, but probably won't return
This is a huge resort with nice amenities. Rooms have a nice, clean contemporary style to them. I heard they were newly renovated. They don't have any drawers though. It has an ice cream spot right by the pool, a relaxing lazy river, and a delicious BBQ buffet at the beach. However, the size of the resort is a slight downfall. The gym/spa was about a 20 minute walk from our room! We waited 10 minutes for the trolly (which comes every 20 minutes), but when it came, a group of 3 just showed up and[... read more] hopped on and filled the trolly. When I told the staff member I've been waiting for 10 minutes, he told me I'll have to wait another 20. WHAT!?!?! The main buffet had terrible food. The Japanese and Brazilian al a cart restaurants were AMAZING though! The tequila bar makes the best drinks. I would go there specifically if I wanted to actually enjoy my drink. The coffee at this resort is terrible. I love coffee and drink whatever, but I couldn't even bring myself to stomach it. I didn't touch it after a few tries. While in the lazy river, staff turned it off (at 6:23pm, they were either really late or early), so I had to walk through the water the rest of the way only to find someone took my boyfriend's only pair of sandals. He had to walk back to the room barefoot. The cleaning staff were iffy. The first day they didn't clean the room. They only made up the bed and replaced the towels. However, on other days they were really good and even made us some cute towel animals.
Overall, my stay was okay. I've been to better resorts, but this one wasn't bad. I enjoyed my stay.

Friendly Staff
The resort has very friendly staff, they are very attentive. The rooms were not the cleanest, specifically the bathroom. Other friends in our parties rooms were fine; but ours wasn’t done very thoroughly. I didn’t find the drinks were watered down; and the food was good. I definitely recommend the Japanese and Brazilian restaurants.

Excellent Stay
Hotel was clean, food was really good, service was best I have ever had. Although some of the wait staff were a bit standoffish and rude in the Japanese a la carte, the overall experience of the hotel was amazing. The beach was great too and the staff knowledgeable on tours. Rooms were very clean and maid staff were attentive, check in and out was seamless as well.

Sab
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and the resort and staff were great. Thanks also to Natalie for doing the booking as she was most helpful and pleasant. would definitely book with her again. A little concerned with the delay at the airport after being up at 3 am to get the 7 am flight and then told it was delayed. but once the problem was rectified we were on our way. Return flight seemed to be on a much smaller plane with no pockets on the back of the seats. for books or glasses.

Stunning resort
A beautiful resort. Spacious rooms, over the top buffet and friendly service. The buffet was the best I have ever seen on vacation. Each meal lacked nothing. For late risers there was a smaller breakfast buffet at the steak house by the pool. Concierge service was available for every so many rooms and they attended to all your needs. Wonderful evening entertainment and plenty of bars. Even the small local wildlife were very friendly. Beautiful beach and warm water.

We loved the Grand Sirenis!
We have been to a handful resorts on the Mayan Riviera side and this is the first one that we want to go back to NOW! The rooms, beach, resort, pretty much everything about this place is awesome especially the people! Every building has its own concierge and ours was Liz and she was so awesome. She really took care of us and treated us like family. We had a couple of beach servers who took really good care of us- we always had our drinks brought to us and sometimes there was drinks waiting for u[... read more]s when we got back from our swims! Amazing service, especially Esperanca, a real sweetheart! The staff was very friendly and you can tell that they really liked working there. There are too many to mention but Guillermo, Fede, Federico and Sammi were amazing! We were there for Halloween and they decorated the resort and it looked really cool. It looked like the staff had their family there for the day and it gave it a real family oriented vibe that we loved.
The snorkelling off the beach was so amazing! The fish were everywhere and we even swam with a stingray! So cool! You could get snorkelling gear and kayaks there everyday.
Our room was beautifully decorated and always clean. It never had that musty or damp feeling like other resorts that we have been too. We saw the coolest wildlife from our balcony everyday like raccoons, birds, iguanas, coteis and even monkeys!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. The lazy river was very relaxing! You will not be disappointed! The spa was very beautiful and reasonable for a couples massage and hydrotherapy. The dolphin exhibit was cool too! The disco was far and you needed to take a shuttle there but it was cool. The coffee shop was a nice treat every morning and the ice cream shop was cool every afternoon. The sky bar was an awesome place to go after we enjoyed the nightly show. I loved Grease, the circus show etc. It was all good and a lot of fun!
We loved this place so much that I actually miss it and cannot wait to go back and we will go back! We are even interested in trying the Grand Sirenis in DR when it opens in December.

Great Resort with Great Food!
My kids and I really enjoyed this resort. The food was excellent. Loved the clean pools and the lazy river. Wasn't a fan of the beach area. :( .But the snorkeling in the area was amazing. The incredible Dolphin swim was right on the resort saving us time by not having to take a shuttle for this experience. Overall I was very pleased with Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya.

Ok Resort
I was at this resort for 10 days for a wedding. The resort is large and a lot of walking. Not good for people that can’t walk long distances. There are golf carts but few and far between. They are mostly for the premium Guests. I stayed in a superior suite which was very nice but needed drawers for your clothes. The buffet restaurant food was pretty good. But the service was atrocious. We mostly set our own tables and served our own water and did without coffee most times. Our last evening[... read more] we did the buffet and finally had a female server who was amazing. I think her name was Asurus or something like that. We tipped her very well and thanked her for her amazing service. The alacarte restaurants were ok. But we had made a reservation way ahead for 17 people and they could only accommodate 13. So 4 if our group walked out. The restaurant was not full but they could not accommodate us for some reason. This was upsetting. We found that the alacarte restaurants were not full but we were told by the concierge they were. Very poor organization. Servers need to be trained properly in the buffet restaurant too. Also Air Conditioning was not on in buffet restaurant most of the time. It was way too hot to eat in there sometimes. The lower lobby bar area was also unbearably hot and humid they need fans there. Our housekeeping lady Guadeloupe was amazing. Very friendly and pleasant.
This was a five star resort I thought. I think I would give it a 3-4. I had a good time mostly because of the family I was with. The grounds are beautiful but some of the concrete walkways need to be attended to. Very uneven. A lady in our group tripped over a raised concrete slab. The lazy river was amazing. The pool we went to was not always clean. The gift shop should take US dollars.

Beautiful resort.
This was a totally awesome place. Right from the diverse pools to relax in and to the different activities that took place everyday. I totally enjoyed all of my events and excursions that took place. Only thing that I thought would be better is the mid week miyan dinner was cancelled and I was looking forward to that event. Overall this place is a huge place that allows all forms of people to enjoy the places and I do plan to come back with my entire family.

Would stay again
Are overall stay was very good and would recommend the Grand Sirenis to family and friends .There was many things to see very close to resort and many things to do both on and off the resort .The food was good but they could improve on selection of deserts. The resorts pool and lazy river and well kept very enjoyable to use but the main pool was far to loud for myself and my wife, overall great place .
