Great Resort

This our second visit to this resort this year. The first time we stayed in a standard room, had no issues what so ever. Last week when we went for the second time we booked a junior suite. Absolutely loved it, room was clean, air conditioner worked great, had tons of hot water and loved the outdoor shower. The soup are for sure worth trying ! When at the resort you must go to Beans & see Yusmilba!! She is amazing , she has such a warm personality & so friendly. Her creations on your coffee are beautiful. The Ice cream is also a must !! The resort has a new general manager Iago Cela & is very welcoming & we seen him several times throughout our stay wanted to make our holiday was going as expected. The staff at the resort were all willing to please. Will for sure be returning again

Beautiful beach

It was a stressfull holiday for me, the flies on the food was horrible.My first 3 days we stayed in building 24 we had no hot water , no water pressure plus cockroaches in our room . The girls in the dining room were not friendly and had attitude. On the plus side the grounds are wonderful the beach is amazing but that was my first visit and my last. After many complains we went to building 23 much better hot water and pressure but there was bugs in our room i couldn’t wait to come home. Wonderful Vacation

Memories Caribe is an awesome resort. It is easy to get to the lobby, pool, beach and buffet. The beach is stunning with soft sand and crystal clear turquoise water and has a nice gradual entrance. Great for long strolls! I have been to Varadero and Cayo Santa Maria and this beach is by far the best! I stayed for 2 weeks and had beautiful weather (36-40°C) everyday except for 1 day when it rained for about 2 hours. Fresh bread, omelets, pancakes potatoes, bacon(most days) cold cuts, cheeses and fruits. (No eggs first 2 days). Chicken, pork, fish, rice, pastas, pastries and ice cream for lunch and suppers. Snack bar serves great grilled sandwiches, chicken, tuna, ham and cheese, fries and occasionally hamburgers and hot dogs. Ketchup sometimes! Lobby bar is enclosed, air conditioned and serves great drinks, juices and coffees and has a live band most nights. Cuba day was great with authentic cuban cuisine served at the beach for lunch! All in all an amazing vacation. Expect shortages... it's Cuba! Enjoy the culture, the music, the people and relax! 🌴😊🍹

Staff amazing but resort is not!

This resort is full of flies, mosquitos and cockroaches. There is no hot water and not enough water pressure to flush toilets. Food is covered in black flies, its is extremely hard to eat and fan away flies at same time. Staff are amazing considering what they have to work with. I would not recommend for the price we paid.

Will not return!

Not sure why TripAdvisor and Sunwing would recommend this resort. $3000 plus for 2 people for a week of misery. No doors in bathroom. Flies covering food and tables at buffet. Could not see tabletop , covered in flies. No hot water in room. No water pressure to flush tiolets. Absolutely disgusting public tiolets! Save your money for elsewhere.

Great resort!

We stayed April 19-April 26 when we first got off the bus it was a very warm welcoming from playing music/dancing was greeted with a drink, the hotel general manager introduced himself and welcomed us. check in was smooth and our luggage was brought up to us by a bell boy. We got exactly what we were suppose to for our superior room. The rooms are older but who cares we don't come for the looks of the hotel room. Entertainment staff were phenomenal and definitely made our week fun for us. The grounds are well kept by the gardeners, and they work very hard. Despite the shortages of certain things and all the house flies (they were terrible when there was food near by). Pools were very clean and nice to cool off in. This was our first time to cayo coco and it definitely won't be our last. We enjoyed the week of relaxation, sunshine and good times. See you next time.

Flys

Sorry I was very dissatisfied with your place , the place had so many flys, it was bad enough but the constant spraying from the air plane above and the flys on the food turned me off and seeing the people spraying the tables was enough, the drinks what they did have were bad and half time no cups . I must say staff were great but for one guy calling me sweetly pie who was also rude to my sister . The maids did a very good job on our rooms which were tired and old a rustie fridge and gave us  [... read more]water when they could . The staff at main bar and coffee bar did their best with supply’s they had which wasn’t much . Sorry I will not be returning .

Not so amazing resort

Won’t be going back for a second time! It started with our bed having to be completely replaced because the box spring and mattress were awful to sleep on. We could feel the springs and the slats from the box spring. Limited toilet paper at first but would get replaced with used rolls from other rooms. Food was ok didn’t starve. No mix for drinks. Another great trip to Memories Caribe

Just got back from my 3rd trip to Memories Caribe since Nov. Great weather and staff .. beach is 5/5 and there is lots of room and shade for everyone. Food was fine for me and I only had a few small bug bites … that only seems to be a problem for some ! Can’t wait to return … the staff were all amazing !!

"A bit disappointed"

I had very high hopes when I booked this vacation with another couple "friends of ours". This review is detailed and very accurate. Its not a bitch session. The cost of our trip was great, very reasonable. Rooms: We upgraded to the Junior Suite which was very nice, can't complain.. But our friends booked a regular room. They had to change rooms 2 times due to moldy rooms black on ceilings, an air conditioning not working. Half way through the week they upgraded to Junior Suite and go a go [... read more]od room. I spoke with one other guest, they said part of their ceiling was black and coming down on them.... yuck. They also had no hot water for 3 days until they got over to the junior suite. Diamond Club (option): This is a bad segregation of class of vacationers concept. Because you didn't pay for better food, better drinks, certain beach access and other services your treated as a 2nd class visitor. THEY RAN OUT OF RUM our 3rd day in... and it lasted for 3 days... how is that possible. France doesn't run out of wine... OMG. But the Diamond Club vacationers still had RUM in their preferred bars. We asked for certain drinks that should be part of our regular "All Inclusive" packages, but the staff says they don't have any, their out of stock, and then a Diamond Club person requests the same thing and they get served..... I feel like there's a "Back of the Bus" scenario here if you know what I mean. In order to get RUM or a drink my wife likes, I had to buy a couple bottles from the bar "slide them money" (that should be giving them to me for free)... I complained to the management and he gave me an extra bottle, I believe it was for me to shut up or keep quite. Very sad.. Food: Its Cuba,,, we expect average at best.... I found a few things to eat, never went hungry.. . But the Diamond Club got separate breakfasts, Lobster, Shrimps no limits.. the rest of us have to quickly go to buffet before they run out of food. Beach: The beach water was beautiful, clear blue water, white sands,, a bit of sea weed 1 or 2 days (high winds) understandable... They cleaned it up... No complaints there. The pool area didn'thave a lot of shade or umbrella areas, full sun . People had their towels out the night before to reserve them. There certainly were a lot of sand flees on the beach.. The other couple and my wife had a lot of bits.. I escaped it some how... Wifi: The wifi is only available in the lobby and its very limited, I believe it has a limit on how many people can connect at a time... Other than the great water we had some challenges..

Ok resort

Beach was beautiful, noseeums are really bad, random hot water, food not so great. We got to resort at 11:30am and could not get into our room until 4pm so If your flight arrives early be prepared to wait until 4pm before you get your room. Some staff awesome, some not so much, girl booking a la carte dinners could use a brush up on customer service skills. Probably will not return to this resort.

Disappointment.

Regarding the hotel, our impressions are unfortunately not the best. In our case, we got a room with the door to the garden closed permanently, without the possibility of opening it, but where the two doors meet, we had a gap allowing insects to enter the room. We sealed it with duct tape. The air conditioning worked because you could hear it, but the humidity in the room was higher than outside. Everything in the room including the sheets was damp. We couldn't change the room because the hotel [... read more] was full. It wasn't pleasant to go back to it or sleep in it. In our opinion, this room shouldn't be allowed to use by hotel guests. The Beach is situated beautifully. Of particular interest is the shallow sea near the beach. That's the only big plus. Beach-land (sand) nothing special, not very wide, or clean, people sitting very densely, close to each other (big minus). The food is normal, just like in Cuba. Breakfast was good, the rest is ok, and no one goes hungry.

Will definitely visit again.

We absolutely loved this resort. It was small enough that you could walk anywhere. Beach, pool or restaurants were all a short 3-5 minute walk. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was really good especially the bread. Made fresh daily. Only wifi available was in the lobby. Which is probably a good thing as our phones were used sparingly.

Tired Resort

We were unable to book an a la carte. Said nothing available until week after our stay. Yet other people we met went in and got a booking the same day and next day. Messages are very inconsistent. We definitely did not have a superior renovated room. No coffee maker as described in amenities. Air conditioner soooo loud. Requested a coffee maker - took 2 days - friend requested coffee maker after me and received within 2 hours. Hot water 2 out of 7 days. Shortages everyday from eggs to beve [... read more]rages. Feel like if you were not Diamond Club it was very difficult to get any service in dining room or book anything. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

Needs updating

The Beaches in Cayo Coco are the best, unfortunately the hotel, food, alcohol choices & most staff did not meet my expectations, which when going to Cuba are not the highest to begin with. The entertainment was lacking and the line ups long.

Just ok

The people of the resort were great, friendly and welcoming. The food was pretty much the same all the time and without flavours. The beds are uncomfortable and the sandflies are terrible. I wouldn't go back here. But not a terrible place by far just not worth the money.

Good resort

The employees do there best with what they have . Keep it very clean. Did run out items but would be a day and ithe item would be back. Rooms are not all newly renovated like the sight claims. Don't fly out of Toronto and don't fly with Sunwing. Do your research.

Resort was ok

The people at the resort was really nice. They do did what the could service was great. The people in the lobby bar were fantastic. The complaints I have were the mosquitoes and sand fleas. They are us alive even having bug spay did not help. They need to fog the place in the morning and evening this would have helped. They need to spend some money in this resort I would only give it a 3 it could be a 4 if they just put some Money into it. Food was Cuba food you would not have starved. no coke witch was sad and no shrimp . I would not come back the reason would be the bugs need to addressed. We talked to others at the airport that went to different resorts and said they had no issues with mosquitoes or sand fleas. They said they fogged every day in the morning and Evening on the beach and in the resort.

Beautiful beach

The food has really improved since I was in Cuba last. The staff are either super friendly or super grumpy. Our room attendant was amazing thank you Yetty. There were a lot of shortages including toilet paper and alcohol that wasn’t rum. I had a wonderful massage at a very good rate. The beach was stunning with a nice beach bar where you could actually get something other than rum. One major complaint was they fogged our room for the cockroaches with a gas powered machine. Best beach ever

I really liked the resort, staff and accommodations, but the beach was the best, allowing long walks both sides of the resort... People are usually complaining about the food in Cuba, not here, I only went to the buffet, no need to book reservations for a la carte restaurants... Entertainment was great, adjusted to the tourists' requests... My room was nice and clean, didn't spend much time there, only to sleep and shower... My only complain would be the sand fleas that ruined my last 3 days [... read more] in the resort, but I don't think the resort could have done anything about it...
