Media Luna Resort: Family vacation

We fell in love with this resort. Family of four. This is a small resort, not a party resort. The bar closes at 11. Loved the cabanas instead of a hotel room. We didn’t hear any doors opening and closing. We will be returning!!!

Media Luna Resort: Great Resort

Media Luna Resort is a great place for a nice relax vacation the staff are very friendly and helpful people. The food was great but they should have more staff serving. The guys at the bar and the coffe shop were great. Love the entertainment staff they were always so much fun. I recommend the Yoga class it was very helpful and fun. The hotel should invest in some golf cars to drive their guest to their cabanas!!

Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: Spectacular in every way

I loved everything about it. The beach. The coral reef at your f8nger tips. The staff and service. The economy rooms leave much to be desired but the Garden Villa apartment like rooms are amazing. I have been around the Carribean and this was my favourite place so far.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

Very nice...well groomed food was too much the same every day..could use a change staff very nice and helpful was not impressed that the cruise ship people took over seats and pool that I paid a LOT A LOT FOR

Henry Morgan Resort: Beautiful Resort

We fell in love with this resort the moment we got off the bus. It has such a good vibe. The staff is so friendly. The lobby and lounge areas are so colourful. Then we get to our room which was better than we ever expected. His and hers closets, hammocks on balcony! and we were lucky enough to have a king size bed and a vaulted ceiling! We did check out t [... read more]he other pool near the back of the resort but found out it was only waist deep and there wasn't a pool side bar there until late in the afternoon. The beach is unbelievable and the water is so clear. There are security guards on the beach but they are so friendly, always saying good morning or afternoon! If I had to say anything negative about the resort, there was 1 very minor thing and I found that the beach chairs were always pushed right up close together each morning and it felt a little cramped. But we usually just removed one chair from the row each morning to free things up a bit. We are going back to this resort for Christmas and New Years!

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

The hotel and grounds were clean and well kept. The pools and surrounding areas, including the fountains, were fabulous. The cleaning staff keep the rooms clean and well stocked with bottled water. For the most part the hotel staff were friendly. We did find that the bar staff were rude and slow at serving unless they saw money in your hand. The food lacked flavour and some of the items on the buffet were not kept warm/hot. Who wants cold scrambled eggs for breakfast? We had dinner one night [... read more] at an a la carte restaurant. One of our group found a cockroach mixed in with her food. Several of our group had stomach issues the first few days we were at the resort. We believe this was a result of eating salad that was rinsed in the local water instead of bottled water. We avoided the salad and the issues seemed to clear up. We did not enjoy the visits from the cruise ships. It appeared that those from the ships were given preferential treatment over the paying guests. I would tell others to check this resort out as it is beautiful, just be careful with the food.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Great Time

Beautiful quaint cozy resort with lush gardens. Short walk to everything. Nice staff. Food was OK. Weather was amazing. Ocean snorkeling was the best. Hated that the Beach was bombarded with cruise ship guests...really disapprove of that when we paid so much to be there. Some were very rude.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Mayan princess dive and beach resort Roatan, Honduras. Will never go back

Not worth the money spent, we paid for one room and got a room of lesser value, the hotel not willing to help at all even after showing them my receipt from the travel agency. They told me I could pay for the upgrade but I was not about to pay $400 U.S. for something I had already paid for. 17 out of 19 in our group got sick from the food, ended up eating outside resort as everyone was afraid to eat. On BBQ night The meat tasted like the fuel they used to keep the food hot. The reso [... read more]rt catered more to the cruise shop visitors then the people who paid to stay at the resort. Even though we paid for an all inclusive stay there was a list of premium alcohol that we had to pay for. But you could pay $30 U.S a day to have these premium drinks Our room had no alarm clock, coffee pot and/or most importantly a safe. We had a 1 inch gap between the floor and door. Had 3 feet of water in the grout of our tile floor from the condensation. The walls were stucco on the inside and they looked dingy and the bathroom had what looked like some mold on the walls near the ceiling. Could not use credit card at the gift shop. .

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Mayan Princess west bay Toatan

This resort is smaller than most. We totally enjoyed the accommodations never disappointed. Be careful with the food. One night a bbq was planned. The cook used wood for the coals which is ok. But he used a fuel for the started and the fuel taste transferred to the chicken and beef. The pool was well maintained and loved every minute in it and beside in the sun. If you are looking for a quiet beach forget this place. They cater to the cruise ships all week and the cruise people come in large gr [... read more]oups. There is constant noise from the taxi and fishing boats and the locals are peddling their wares. This part we hated.

Media Luna Resort: Beautiful Island

Media Luna Resort and Spa needs an update. The cabana we paid extra for was old and run down. It was dark and smelled very damp. The roof leaked when it rained. The food was great and the staff were fabulous. Wonderful service. The grounds were pretty with pretty flowers. We were looking for a quiet resort and it was quiet.

Media Luna Resort: Overall a postive experience

Resort has apparently recently changed ownership and HM Resorts appears to be making improvements. Individual cabanas are a nice accomodation feature but still rough around the edges in many cabanas. Isolated location can be a positive or negative. Road into resort is in very bad shape. Staff were excellent. Decent snorkelling from - small - beach. Island itself very poor but lovely and people were great.

Henry Morgan Resort: Incredible snorkelling

I had the pleasure of traveling to Roatan last week and stayed at the Henry Morgan Resort. Although the hotel is a little dated the atmosphere and the people more than compensate for it. It is very clean and any thing we needed fixed it was done right away The food was excellent but a little repetitive which I know they are working on but the best thing was the beach and the snorkelling. Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: A Lovely Place

The staff make this place wonderful. They are so polite and nice and would do anything for you, or help you in anyway. The rooms are very nice but if you get a room on the fourth floor be prepared for stairs. The elevators don't seem to work in the hotel buildings. The soaps and shampoos are standard fare. If you prefer more luxurious things, bring your own. The restaurants are very good, the food is nicely prepared and well presented. The entertainment is nice but held very early and [... read more] over quickly. Keep this in mind or you will miss it. This property is a little pricey, I've seen others out there equally nice and a bit less expensive, but if you are looking for a sure thing and the price isn't an issue, I would recommend Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort.

Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: Great resort

Great location, good food, nice resort. we did not have to pay for any excursions because we went to loaf on the beach, eat food and snorkel. All of that was available. we could have doubled p in the rooms as we all had 2 bedroom apts. Next time we will book 2 couples per room. Service was good. too

Media Luna Resort: Great uncrowded low-key getaway

At first disappointed to find our "ocean view" cabana (#133) didn't have an ocean view. Paid $100US extra to get a much better cabana (#140). Cabanas are very relaxing, clean and comfortable. Maid service was excellent. Very easy to walk to an area to go to excellent snorkelling. Cabana #133 was too close to the entertainment which was loud and definitely not relaxing. #140 was much better in that regard. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was OK but nothing special.

Media Luna Resort: Beautiful, quiet resort surrounded by nature

We fell in love with Roatan the minute we landed. Everything is so green and lush. The passage through the airport included fingerprints but was fast and efficient. You are given your resort bracelet at the airport and you take a small can while your luggage goes on another truck. The roads are terrible. Really terrible. Potholes that could eat you but that is part of the experience. Once you turn on to the Media Luna road you are literally on a cow path. So unique. The resort itself is lovely [... read more] and quaint. Check in efficient and our room request was granted. Rooms are cabana style with huge decks. Nothing fancy . Rustic but clean with great air conditioning and a comfortable bed. We just loved having an individual cabana. No noisy neighbours or wafting cigarette smoke. The pools were clean and the beach albeit very small was beautiful with calm water and excellent snorkeling. The buffet was just fine but you are only allowed one a la carte a week. No pop or beer are supplied to your room but we brought back beverages in our bubba to enjoy on our deck. No dressing up for any meal. The entire staff were amazing and everyone in Roatan seems genuinely friendly. We walked the mountains out to the main road ( seriously mouuntains) every day and even walked further to a restaurant. It is a very safe place. We saw parrots, agouti, Armadillo, Hummingbirds, tons of Iguana and even Boa Constrictors. I cannot wait to return to this resort. That said, I believe you will either love or hate this resort. If you are low maintenance, want quiet and low key you will fall in love with this place. If you like high end resorts with brand new rooms and lots of restaurant options, activity and night life then this probably is not going to be the right resort.

Media Luna Resort: Room for improvement

The resort is overall good except for a couple of things. First we had no water pressure and within 5 minutes we would run out of hot water. We had asked to have these issues looked at but they never were. The second would be that there are boa constrictor snakes on the resort that no staff member ever mentioned. I think this is a very important thing to mention to guests especially when someone like my husband who has a true phobia of snakes would have transferred to another resort for that sim [... read more]ple fact. Thankfully by the grace of god we did not see any but seen the pictures of another guest who had a staff member point out 3 of them by the beach area. The food was good although repetitious. The entertainment staff are very young and inexperienced. They did try and we'll give them an A for effort. Although we will not be returning to this resort we had a great time, we will return to Roatan. This was our second time visiting the island. George (Jorge), our personal guide made our island tour extremely amazing. He went out of his way to ensure we seen all the island has to offer from one end to the other. We would highly recommend hiring him for the day. You will not regret it. Many guests took advantage of his kindness and booked a tour with him. He is very attentive to all your needs.

Fantasy Island: Worth going back to

If you want 5 star amenities, pay 5 star prices and go to a 5 star hotel. If you want a clean, comfortable place to relax and enjoy yourself, this is a great place to go to. It wasn't ultra-modern but it was cozy and had charm. The staff was cheerful and helpful, and worked hard at keeping the place clean and tidy. The lobby was always swept clean and the beach was always kept raked and litter free. Hammocks were scattered throughout the grounds and one was on our porch, overlooking the sea [... read more]. There was always something going on during the day if you wanted to join in and a good choice of tours off site. We really enjoyed the beach; it was out of the wind and big enough that you could be away from other people if you wanted to. The snorkelling is great, with rentals available I you don't have your own. Each of us thought one week here wasn't enough. I haven't been anywhere I've travelled to twice, but I would happily return to Fantasy Island.

Fantasy Island: 50/50 DRAW

We stayed at FI for one week in Feb. 2018. The grounds - beach, reef, waterfront - is pretty hard to beat, anywhere. If you've ever snorkelled or wanted to, this would be the place to start - and expand your experience. The rooms were great to sleep in. They were, however, a little musty smelling (you're in a jungle) the fridge didn't work well, the air conditioner struggled to keep up - the shower leaked and we only had hot water 50% of the time. The food was not a 'luxury buffet' and didn't have Cuba's variety - but it was like eating really good home cooked meals. Always fish plus pork, beef or chicken. And tasty. Salads. Fruit. The coffee is brutal. No one in our party of 7 got sick at all. The grounds are old but swept and raked. It needs a serious update. (NO KIDS CLUB - NO ZOO. False advertising.) *** I'd go back for the REEF (we're snorkellers) and the beach - stunning and lots to explore.

Fantasy Island: Natural wonder

The Fantasy Island grounds and surrounding waters are just amazingly gorgeous. The staff work hard to serve and are wonderfully friendly. The rooms,however, need refreshing and I found them quite dark. On the positive side, the maid always cleaned the rooms in a timely fashion. The food is good. The choice is less abundant than other all inclusives (it felt like I was eating at a pot luck), but the quality was good and there was always something to eat. You are eating at nicely appointed tables overlooking the ocean and pool area. The service is good and attentive as well. The down side: there is no kid's club. This is false advertising on Sunwing's part. There is a hut on the beach that rents kayaks, swim vests, and has an animator that "may" play games with your child if you need them to. There is no space for the kids, no place for games or art like in Cuba or the Bahamas. The animator quit after we were there for two days. The replacement didn't really "like " children, as far as playing with them goes. The only thing that changed was a complaint to the Sunwing rep who spoke to the animator. Suddenly, she said to me, "I will do whatever your child wants." Big teeth, big smile. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my child with someone who was a quick stand in. There is no zoo. What they have is a huge chicken coop with roosters, chickens, ducks, and a goose (I loved that one). The roosters have you up at 5:00am. It is a filthy place that looks like a prime spot for PETA activists. Other than those two complaints, I would return. The service is great, the food really tastey, and I can not begin to express how amazingly beautiful the vista is. The water's colours are like a painting....oh......wait and see what swims beneath those waters: large baracuda, moray eels, trunkfish, parrot fish, sting rays, giant rock lobsters...... Need I go on? Just go!
