Secrets Huatulco: We will definitely be going back

Great place. Very clean. Great service. Friendly staff. The food and drinks were lovely. The views are amazing. Lots to do but never felt like there was too many people. We went as a group of 22 people and enjoyed every minute of it

Barcelo Huatulco: Great Resort

Clean, lots to do, wonderful place to vacation! Staff fantastic. Excellent views of the ocean. Wished there were more food choices. Food was fair. Looking forward to returning to this resort as we had a wonderful time.

Dreams Huatulco: Love this Resort

This is our second time at Dreams, 3rd in Huatulco. The resort is very clean, the staff is awesome, and the food is good rooms are spacious and clean. There’s Entertainment every night. We did find however that the resort needs some work as a lot of the floor tiles have lifted in the hallways and the World Cafe, could be tripping hazards to the elderly. Secrets Huatulco: Great Vacation!

For the most part we loved this resort. As every review mentions, the service is top shelf. Our only complaints are small things, which we only mention as constructive criticism. We were hoping to escape the "beach chair game" but alas, it was on in full force here, as is the case with other all inclusives. There were also little things that kept coming up, like no change to be had for tipping, good but underseasoned food, and lack of proper wine glasses. Dreams Huatulco: Nice Hotel

We all had a wonderful time. The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Golf course nearby was also excellent and convenient. We enjoyed the buffet restaurant the most but also the à la carte restaurants. Steven pools plus a nice beach. Would definitely visit again. Park and Fly voucher was an added bonus.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Snorkelling

The main reason we stay here is the snorkelling. The food was very disappointing. Rooms need to be updated but were clean. Staff is great. Shows were something to be desired. Unfortunately the coral in in bad shape.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Beautiful, friendly resort

Very clean resort. Always beautiful weather. Staff is very friendly. Special shout out to Alan Omar and Rodrigo for their great service at breakfast at the Mexican restaurant and to Hugo at the omelet station. Our room in the Brisas beach club suite was very spacious with a beautiful view from the deck. The housekeeping staff did a great job every day.The Brisas beach club lounge was great and the staff were excellent.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Seen better times

Make sure you have better than average Spanish skills. Less than average food. Friendly service that tries hard. Great beaches. WestJet rep was very helpful. Not a great deal to do other than the resort.

Barcelo Huatulco: Struggling resort

Probably like most resorts there is a reduction in client's and cash. This hotel, this chain of hotels the Barcello had such a reputation for luxury. This resort in Huatulco does fall short of that mark it's not 4.5 stars a strong 3 star. The problem is not the staff they were all great. They are understaffed and over worked. The problem is corporate greed yes times are tough but it's a mistake to lower the staff's ability to offer a great experience. Dreams Huatulco: FANTASTIC staff

This is our 4th time to a Dreams resort ( first time here) and 1 Secrets. They all have their own charms and this resort definatley does as well. I think COVID has taken its toll on this one though. This is the first time we dont really think we got value for the money we spent. The resort is really showing its age, Its all the little things, peeling paint in the hall ways, the pools are all missing tiles, There is next to no entertainment on this resort, In the past at every other resort we [... read more] have been to, there has always been something going on. Not here, is this a direct result of the impacts of Covid? I hope so. The food, IF you went to one of the resturaunts was pretty good, but the breakfasts were , for the most part a dissapointment. Our room had a fantastic view, that is the area though. Huatulco is so beautiful! The beach was certainly differant than those on the Gulf side, but the water is warm, the pools are warm and the drinks are cold!

Dreams Huatulco: Great resort, amazing beach!

Service overall was excellent, very friendly and the rooms were clean. COVID adaptations in the restaurants were well executed, although of course nothing beats pre-COVID ability to serve yourself at the buffet but that's no fault of the resort.

Barcelo Huatulco: First time to Huatulco! We are so impressed!

We finally made it to Huatulco, and we are sold! We will return for sure! From the moment we arrived at the airport (we were the only plane that landed at the time!) we found the airport staff and security to be friendly. We got through security within minutes and were on our way to the Barcelo. Such beautiful winding roads and incredible scenery on our way to the resort. Upon arrival, we were welcomed immediately, checked in and offered a special drink at the Premium Lounge. The staff in  [... read more]the Premium Lounge were ALWAYS friendly and helpful. I believe Victor is the name of the gentleman who always made our drinks. Such a nice man. We booked Premium Oceanfront because we want a la cartes every night, ocean front room and nice balcony. We were thrilled with our room! We were even able to have an a la carte on our first night, thanks to the Premium Lounge staff! I did not get the names of the ladies in the Premium Lounge, but they were consistently helpful, always smiling and giving their best to their customers. We were in Room 234. Gorgeous room, comfy bed, amazing view. The one suggestion is to have better coffee in the room. The coffee in the lobby is terrific, but in the room it is way too weak, unfortunately. The only downside to this room is if there are weddings, it can be quite loud until 11:15 PM. We requested to have our room tidied up before lunch, and it was always done for us! Again, the staff are super friendly and accommodating. We had the pleasure of LUZ welcoming us with her beautiful smile every morning at the Breakfast buffet. Breakfasts were always delicious, lots of choices! Lunch was always at La Tortuga because the main buffet did not open for lunch until 2:00 PM. We never had any issues finding something scrumptious to eat at lunch! You have to try the fabulous pork tacos!!! Our favourite waiters were Angel, and I believe Francisco. Angel, our singing waiter was absolutely amazing. He made our day. We feel having a little extra personal service goes a LONG way! Francisco, quieter, but so professional and kind. We always had terrific service in this restaurant! I am sorry if I didn't get everyone's name, but thank you to ALL of you. Making an la carte reservations, having Premium is quick and easy! We prefer a 6:30 seating and enjoyed a la cartes every single night we were at the resort, 6 Italian, 6 Mexican and 2 Japanese. All had exceptional service! We absolutely loved the Italian for the superb and friendly, attentive service, the amazing and talented piano man (that added so much to our time in the restaurant) and of course the food!!! The Mexican was lovely, as you could sit outside and it was very private, and again fantastic service, delicious menu choices and very private and romantic. We were able to reserve the Japanese twice. It is a bit trickier to get into as there is limited seating. Mariano was exceptional. The lady that made the sushi was lovely and the food delicious! We did not eat off the resort. We felt there were enough choices and we wanted to try as much as we could while there! (one suggestion might be to have one more a la carte choice if possible!) Special people that really stood out for us were, Angel, Francisco, Luz and Gabby (first met Gabby in the Mexican) Fernando, the beach waiter, such a young gentleman, so kind and professional. We were impressed with all staff, but these members stood out for just going out of their way to make our stay a bit more personal. Now for the beach - WOW is all we can say! Pristine, clean, no seaweed, swimmable and absolutely lovely. You can also snorkel right off the Barcelo beach close to the island or to the left in front of the Dreams resort. It's not lots, but you can see different fish. You can book to have a kayak for an hour or go on a catamaran ride. The weather is perfect here, not one rainy or cloudy day! Walking outside the resort, you don't find garbage, or litter anywhere. It is absolutely beautiful and safe and friendly. We enjoyed the two shops in the resort and did purchase a few items. We also walked across the street to shop and found more treasures to bring home! We took a taxi to La Crucecita and to Santa Cruz. Very cheap and fun to explore both little towns. We went on one excursion (through WestJet) Fun in the Sun. It was definitely worth the $54.00 per person. We left the lobby at 9:20 AM and were back to the resort just before 4:00 PM. Abel was our guide and Louis Sr and Jr our captains. They were a wealth of information along the way. We were fortunate enough to see humpback whales! We stopped at two bays, one to snorkel at (terrific snorkelling) and one to have lunch! Breathtaking views, secluded bays, fantastic service and scrumptious lunch!!!! I did aquafit most days and did the stretching class once. The instructors were always friendly and professional and fun!! The activities staff were a lot of fun, very friendly and tried hard to get people involved! I could go on and on about this resort and this area. We did try the Fish Spa, even though I had to drag my husband in!!! It was wonderful and the best part being able to visit with Albino and his lovely wife Marta. Our feet felt so nice and soft afterwards. We would highly recommend this spa and we would do this again!! We will absolutely return and definitely recommend the Barcelo Huatulco. Las Brisas Huatulco: Great resort

The grounds are beautiful. Service is amazing. Food great. Because it is on a hill, a lot of walking but they have a very fast shuttle service.Most staff wearing masks. Most people we talked to came back a few times. Also, lots of Mexicans travelling here

Secrets Huatulco: Great reort!

Very laid back resort. A little on the old side for a Secrets resort but beautiful none the less. Not as chic as other Secrets but that was an appeal. Food was great and so was service. No complaints at all. Very private and gorgeous beach. Lots of free water activities. Overall a 4.5 out of 5.

Villablanca Huatulco: Our home away from home

We love this hotel; it's staff, the food & location. Any small issue we had was addressed quickly and with a smile. We are returning in March. The hotel is clean and comfortable and we always feel safe. We've met some beautiful people in Huatulco!

Binniguenda Huatulco: Amazing Resort!

When we left this hotel last March 2022, we knew we would be back. This time we visited for 2 weeks instead of 1 and we're so glad we did. The hotel is fabulous. We spent time on the grounds and at the Beach Club Niru everyday (when not on an out trip). It was relaxing, the food was great and we love the staff. Highly recommend this hotel for a vacation destination.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great Resort experience

The Barcelo Huatulco is one of the best resorts that we have stayed at. The all inclusive travel package offered by WestJet is certainly the way to go. The resort grounds are immaculate, the beach is fantastic, food and drink are readily available, and service is one of the resort's best features. In all, a great experience.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Best service ever!

First and foremost the service was amazing. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond. The scenery at the resort was beautiful with the 4 beaches, mountains, birds, flora and fauna. Las Brisas Huatulco: Special place !

Very nice vacations ! We went a first time in 2016 and we had really enjoyed the place. We decided to go back in April 2022 and we were not disappointed ! Bullet points style : * Staff : super nice. Big improvement from 2016. They were ok in 2016 but now they really are a lot more friendly and entertaining. Waitresses and very kind, with a good sense of humor. Men waiters are a little less friendlier in general but there are some very nice so I don't want to generalize. Barman very good and f [... read more]un. The ''gardeners'' watering the plants in the morning are very polite and kind. Room cleaning ladies, very kind and polite. Reception super nice. Golf cart driver super dedicated and working hard. Overall we really enjoyed the staff. It's very ''spanish oriented''. Most of them speak good english, but not excellent. Who cares, we can communicate and they are very kind. I don't think that there is a lot of french speaking staff... (again... not a problem for the majority of clients). * Rooms : very clean, spacious, everything worked well. * Covid related measures : very well. Very prudent. I would even say that some measures are too much (I'm careful, but not paranoing with covid). Like when the staff work outside and not directly speaking with clients... like the room cleaning ladies and the gardeners... working under the crazy son at 40 celcius, wearing a mask all day.... that's a little too much I find. But... I understand that it's probably requested for the highest protection standards. Poor them. But big thank you for enduring this. * Gym : big gym, very clean. * Food : Excellent buffet. We only tried one ''a la carte'' resto (Solarium-Steakhouse) which was pretty good. Weird but it was the only time that we found the service ''cold''. They all looked stressed, rushed although they were like 8 waiters for about 50 clients (??? I worked as a waiter for 10 years and each waiter had sections of 30 to 60 clients so I can't understand the rush for 8 clients per waiter... lol). The buffet is excellent. I heard that the Marocan resto was very very good. We missed it. * Beach : super clean, very enjoy-full. Beautiful ! Little reef pretty fun for basic snorkelling. Beware not to get caught by the wave that can throw you on the coral... could be hurtful. Otherwise very interesting. My only deception was that we could not swim from the ''secret Beach side''. In 2016, there was a sign ''swim at your own risk'' and I had amazing snorkelling all week in that bay. However, I'm an experienced snorkeler who love waves and adrenaline. I admit that the water could be rough. Now, 2022, they switch the sign to ''not allowed / prohibited'' and I had not noticed it. The guard caught me on our first day and warn us not go... so we didn't. I was very disappointed as it was the main thing I was looking up to... but I understand. It's rough water... currents, waves, rocks... The main beach is fun enough. General layout: It's built on hills and the weather was crazy hot ! 35-40 celcius all week. So it can be difficult for some people to walk around from the room to the restos or the beach. We personally like it as it makes us burn calories before consuming some extra ones at the buffet lol. But anyway, they have a very effective transport system across the resort with little trucks and golf carts like. The view points offer superb views of the ocean the coast, etc... Overall we love this resort. We would go back in a heartbeat (depending on the deals/price). 4/5... maybe 4.5/5 Too bad that there is no direct flight from Ottawa and the our experience with Air Canada was terrible this time. My review on Air Canada will be mainly negative. And I hate complaining but they were really terrible. My girlfriend is now scared of buying a trip that is not a direct flight following this experience. It took us 27 hours and 2 stops to get there... We went to Philippines in 2011 and I took us 24 hours (2 stops)... how can it take even more time to get from Canada to Mexico ? anyway...
