Sunscape Curacao Resort: Amazing Beach

The resort is dated. The beach is beautiful. Understaffed but very friendly. Entertainment staff very energetic and try to engage ages of all levels. Room was kept clean and mini bar stocked daily. Food was mediocre at best, very repetitive and limited selection. Not likely to return to this resort but no regrets going this time.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Very nice Resort

The hotel is a bit dated, but it is so clean and well kept. Our room was huge and updated. The beds were comfortable. The staff at this hotel were amazing and very friendly and most of them spoke English and they were very welcoming. What I really liked about this hotel was that it was not crowded and everyone was made to feel really safe. We really liked the Italian restaurant and the Japanese restaurant. The beach and water was enjoyable, we never went to the pools. The staff and management at this resort were very well organized. We had a lovely stay. No complaints. Walk with water socks as you need to get pass the small rocks in the water, but once you are in it is lovely, a bit cool but refreshing.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Very Indifferent

The resort itself is 'dated'. While it is not run down it is very plain. However, it is kept clean and hospitable. The rooms are adequate, yet dated. The 'special room' associated with the special rate over looked the garden with a balcony that wasn't wide enough to use, other than hang clothes to dry. The entrance backed out to the service/staff entrance. Though the view was lacking we did not experience any noise issues. The room staff was fine. The beaches were clean and pretty. They are b [... read more]ehind break walls of stone that help create a calm and more welcoming area. There are plenty of lounges and enough room for everyone. The pools were pretty, clean and could accommodate large numbers. There were some activities for all ages and the activities/entertainment staff were fairly good, as was the featured entertainment each evening. The bars were second rate but sufficed if a beer or some fruity cocktail was all you wanted. There was a coffee bar where we got a cappuccino and espresso on a regular basis. Perhaps, if you were lucky there was some cake to have with it, but most of time it lacked anything edible to have with the coffee. The restaurants were adequate, especially in light of what the buffet had to offer, though they did not even approach anything resembling 'fine dining'. These were not always available and lunch venues were limited. That leaves the buffet. One reason that were have stopped visiting Cuba was because of the quality of the food. We had hoped that Curacao would provide a decent alternative. We were wrong. I almost pined for the days of Cuban 3/4 star resort food. The small birds that could easily fly through the window netting surely enjoyed the facilities, including the food. It took a few days to navigate the buffet and figure out what was 'best' to eat...when there was no alternative. The staff, on a one-to-one basis were very pleasant but in general the whole atmosphere just seemed 'indifferent'. All that being said, our goal was to relax in a clean environment (no seaweed!), nice weather and piece and quiet. Sunscape allowed us to meet those goals but certainly did not meet or exceed the expectations that we have grown to expect from other Caribbean resort experiences.

- the hotel was clean and nicely kept - food was amazing with great service at the bars - the grounds were clean with amazing beach - pool was nice with tons of space - waterslides were a lot of fun Definitely recommend this resort

Sunscape Curacao Resort: An amazing beach resort!

We really enjoyed the beach. The snorkeling is amazing around the rocks both on the resort side and on the ocean side. The rocks keep the swimming water calm close to the beach. All of the food at the resort was great. Enjoyed every meal and snack! It is easy to rent a car or take the bus to the various sights around the island.

The hotel is lovely not too big and easy access to the amenities. The service is horrible. When ordering a drink at the bar the staff would turn their backs and not acknowledge the people standing there. I also think they purposely took a longtime to prepare the drinks so I would dread going to get a drink. Unless you only like beer or wine there was very little else other than rum to drink. There is no service in the buffet so people were getting their drinks putting them down and then going to get their food while they were getting food the birds would drink from their glass or they would eat from their plate. The steak restaurant was right on the beach at picnic tables you find in parks. Dinner in the buffet felt like a cafeteria never dressed up The beach is so small. The size of a football field. It is a man made beach with a base of cement with an inch of sand on top. The cruise ships block the view of the ocean The cleanliness is horrible. The glasses were filthy. I got a drink and the glass felt greasy from suntan lotion from-the person who used it before me. The maids barely clean the room. The mini bar only has three bottles of water there is no pop or anything else. No coffee maker in the room. No box of Kleenex or soap bar in the room. No shows at night just a few bands come in for a couple of hours. Don’t book this hotel. It’s like being the movie “the birds”. If you do check your chair for bird poop before you sit down

Nice resort although if you’re on the tower side there’s three nights out of the week that is very noisy from the resorts down the beach so I recommend to go on the other side the water is pretty the foods OK the service is OK the drinks are OK they have a little equarium baby sharks Flamingoes lots of cool fish I went swimming with the Dolphins we went in town felt very safe 4 Wheeler trail ride can also rent a car go around the island beautiful beaches

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Welcomed vacation

Would not visit again. Better suited for families. Resort was lacking friendliness , staff seemed annoyed to be there. Beach beautiful lots of chair, huts, hammocks . Restaurants not always open long waits for cold food twice.

Dreams Curacao Resort Spa and Casino: Lovely island but resort is looking a little tired

The rooms were very clean but lacking in personality/decor. The hallways and stairwells almost seemed institutional, they were so plain. We had to request additional shower gel as it was not replenished. Pillows were lumpy. The chairs on the balcony were very uncomfortable. One night we had to wait over 90 minutes for our dinner at the Italian restaurant, and then one dish was unpalatable. Another night, the service was excellent and the food delicious, at the same restaurant. The ribeye steak a [... read more]t the Bluewater grill was less than a centimetre thick and cooked well done. We were not asked how we would like it cooked. The fish tacos at the Oceana lunch restaurant were awesome. The food at the limited buffet was repetitive but quite tasty. We enjoyed the croquettes very much. There was never bacon at breakfast, though there were usually 3 kinds of sausage. Service in the buffet was less than stellar, as it was hard to get a refill of beverages. The wait staff spent most of their time clearing tables. There were perhaps not enough staff. At the pool bar, pours were generous, but the plastic glassware was so old, it was opaque with wear and scratches. They often ran out of bottles of water. Beach chairs under the palapa in the shade had to be reserved with a towel by 7 in the morning. There were sections of the beach that were rocky and hard to navigate in bare feet. Staff were always very friendly, even when they were working very hard. We had a pleasant week but would not return to this resort.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Good Resort

Great resort for a beach vacation. Beach is clean and walkable. All facilities are easily accessible from any room category. Clean pools and restaurants. Food quality at the buffet and housekeeping services could be improved. Service friendly albeit slow at times. Lots of wildlife to be seen on resort. Great location- close to town and shopping.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great beach and awesome staff!

The resort has a great layout and swimming in the water was wonderful. The hotel room and balcony were quite large and the building we stayed in had an elevator as well. We loved it! Staff were friendly and I liked the location of the restaurants on the beach giving you a great view of the sunset while dining.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: 2nd Stay at Sunscape

Sunscape is in a great location! Not far from airport. 20 min bus ride max to Punda for great shopping and sight seeing. 15 min walk if u want to swim with the dolphins. Curacao has the friendliest people. Warm and welcoming on and off the ressort. Only complaint we had was that new management has taken some of the perks away from the Sunclub side. The bars had terrible Blenders to make the drinks. Only one seemed to work. Great food at the restaurants. The buffet could Use a little larger choice and the desserts as well but good none the less. Covid has made it difficult in many areas as far as staffing etc., so we all need to remember that and chill. Although Sunscape isn’t the RIU it makes up for it by location and all the rooms are so close to an amazing beach with great snorkelling right there. I hope the management puts back the perks on the SunClub side. The staff is truly awesome here for sure.

Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao: Our Experience

Pool was amazing! The beach is good, plenty of lounge chairs available at both. Overall we found the service a little lacking which is common from previous reviews. The grounds are generally well kept, some dead trees around the pool need to be replaced. We would see dirty glasses around in the am from the previous night. Great location for a walk into Willemstad. Restaurants - a la carte were ok, being only able to book one day in advance though is annoying. Buffet was ok also, although again t [... read more]able service for coffee would be nice. Beware of being booked into bldg 3 lower floor, you are right on the path to everyone going to the buffet and need to keep your drapes closed at all times for privacy. The first time the fire alarm went off at 4:45, scared the crap out of us, a few days later the fire alarm with announcements to leave the building went off again starting at 6:30 one morning and continued for hours, we were notified they would be testing it starting at 10;30 I am only giving an overall rating of fair due to fire alarm issues.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Full satisfaction!

I was there December 4-11 and would like to say it is a very nice place. Location is the best, close to downtown. Beach is amazing! First day I got some problems with noise from ventilation , but professional staff (Angie!!!) fixed it shortly.

Dreams Curacao Resort Spa and Casino: Not more than a 3 stars

Came back from our trip very disappointed - thought we were going to a five stars when actually we got a low 3 stars Furnitures needs a good cleanup, quality and variety of food is mediocre and not consistent and is advertising as international alcoholic beverages which you do not get, you have to be a preferred member to get it (which you pay more for of course) We had a Deluxe King Ocean View which was OK (however did get the ocean view), Beach, what beach 30 steps and then you go back, po [... read more]ol is not bad 5 feet deep all around We will definitely not go back

Sunscape Curacao Resort: resort very suitable for families.

Hotel was not a 4 star. Rooms were spacious, but bathroom was small. Food was below average, hygiene was so so. Pools were excellent entertainment good. A la carte restaurants food quality was below average. Small portions. No measures for protection against covid.

Curacao Marriott Beach Resort: Top Notch Resort. Amazing

The hotel was absolutely amazing. Had every amenity, two pools, right on private beach. The staff were absolutely the best. We did have a personal issue which the hotel addressed immediately. Madeline the manager was very accessible and addressed our concern with respect and immediately. Thank you for a great experience. We would definitely return. A little outside main town but exactly what we needed. Very easy to get downtown.

Rooms are musty, food is the same morning noon and night, but the service is great, and it is close to everything, excursions are great, enjoyed the spa, needs better night entertainment, coffee is great

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Had High Expectations

We returned this past weekend from Sunscape Resort in Curacao. Our friend recommended this resort so we had high expectations. Unfortunately, most of the staff looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but taking care of us. The food, especially in the buffet, was equivalent or worse than what we have eaten in Cuba. One of the workers told us that they have had management change and they are not happy. Our room was not cleaned two separate days and I had to run around trying to get clean  [... read more]towels. The entertainment staff is wonderful. They always make you laugh. The beach is amazing. There are not many chairs by the pool. The island in itself is beautiful and very safe. We did manage to have a great trip aside from our concerns.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Would never return!

The resort was so bad that it’s not even worth my time explaining. Service is terrible, food is okay, rooms…I’d rather sleep in a rental car. And I’m not even a picky person..I just need booze and a beach but this place was a nightmare. Couldn’t pay me to stay here again.
