7-day Stay

My review of this resort: Wifi is only in the lobby and no other part of the resort. Not many places are air-conditioned, the rooms are your best bet if you want to escape the heat. The grounds are well kept and the beach is amazing. The best thing about this resort is the beach. Careful of sand flies at the beach though, my partner and I were bit all over our legs and arms. The bites were extremely itchy and uncomfortable afterwards. Bring insect repellent to be safe. In all honesty, I would not come back to this resort.

Ruined vacation

I went to this resort about 10 years ago and service and food was excellent. That's why I decided to comeback again to experience it. Unfortunately, level of servece and comfort went down so I would rate it 2 star resort - toilet was not working upon arrival, no restocking drinks in a room (diamond club) unless you complaine to front office every day, no plastic cups in bars on a beach so no drinks, spanish speaking (locals) serviced first, food in a la carte the same as in buffet, flies on fo [... read more]od, internet had constant issues and restricted and not unlimited, etc, etc, etc I talked to several families on a beach and they experienced the same issues... Cuba and beaches are good just not in this resort.

Awful Place

Unfortunately we stay at this hotel for a week , the hotel is falling apart, room service very bad at the point I had to fight for a toilet paper and bottle of water at the service desk.I know what to expect when I travel to Cuba special in the hotels but this in particular is the worse, main toilet beside the bar always dirty and awful smell , at the restaurant you have to inspect very well the utensils otherwise they can give you dirty plate or stained glass . Beautiful beach

We go to Cuba just for the beaches and this beach was amazing - crystal clear water and white sand with a sand bar in the water and a long stretch of beach to take nice walks. The buildings are older, the rooms are clean, but very basic. The pressure in the shower is not good and only a small amount of water trickles out. The staff are absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The food is typical Cuba; they run out of things like beer, mint, coffee, no pizza in the snack bar etc, but we  [... read more]don't go to Cuba for the food. We could always find something to eat though. We would go back to this hotel for the beautiful beach and not for a luxury vacation.

Ok for the price

Service Service from staff was good. Animation formidable

Animation parfaite. Service très bien. Juste les chambres ne sont pas rénovés. La. Douche était très mauvaise. L' eau du toilette ne fonctionnait pas. Boissons non disponible comme sprite. La toilette donné pour le bain dernière journée n était pas servi des serviettes.

Good resort

Clean resort, quit old one, the stuff are amazing, many things missed, like lemon and lime and sprite drink, the beach are amazing, need more activities at the beach, the entertainers are pro.its a good resort for who wanna pay less than 1000$/ person.

Ugly Resort

My room is old, ugly, smell moldy, the curtain has little worms plant, and mosquitoes. I have no phone in my room for my entire week. I complain about that, but she ignore me . The bathroom is smell stinky and looks dirty. All the washrooms in the resort are stinky and dirty. Not all the faucets have water or only 1 or 2 faucets is working . Some of the toilet in the facility there is no flush water, broken and the door also. Too many flies in the buffet table. 😫 Some plates are still dirty.

Excellent (Diamond Club)

My sister and me, we just finished a week at this hotel, Memories Flamenco, Cayo Coco. Everything was good, the room was clean, the beach is beautiful, the staff were super friendly. we had Diamond Club bracelets, our room had very convenient location right next to the Diamond Club restoran, beach, pool, lobby, basically everything. We could return to Cuba and would be happy to stay in Diamond Club again.

Great place and excellent service

I went there with my brother and we had the time of our life!! The room was nice and clean. When it comes to the food there were lots of varieties and different choices at the buffet, the service there was outstanding. Our waitresses Yulie and Nairelys were awesome. The entertainment staff were also awesome. Yuni and Marlon Brando with the daily morning stretching the Zumba and the beach volleyball kept us busy pretty much the whole day! We are definitely coming back!

Overall a Great vacation!

We stayed at memories Flamenco for 4 nights and had a wonderful time overall. Our room was clean and we had hot water(although pressure wasn’t the best). We stayed in building 6 which was very close to the beach and the swimming pool. There are about 11 buildings in total. Food wasn't the best which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. They lacked basic things such as salt, pepper, sugar, bread, etc. some days were better than others. Sweets were pretty good. We had A la carte dinner and the bes [... read more]t one was Italian. Asian was the worst, the sushi was a joke, and we left half way. Alcohol selection was limited, and only a few options to choose from. Also during the day there are not many food options except hotdogs and burgers by the snack bar and usually they come without a bun. The beach was amazing, so beautiful and magical. Not so busy and we always had seats available. A few things to remember to take with you: Make sure u have first aid kit such as bandage and polysporin, also medication such as Advil or Tylenol. It is impossible to find any there. Terry at the buffet really went above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience, thank you Terry! Manuel from Air canada was also very helpful and knowledgable. Overall we had a great time, thank you Memories Flamenco ❤️

Incredible people and amazing beach

We have stayed at Memories Flamenco for 3 weeks (April 1-April 22, 2022!!! Yes, I know, sounds like a very extensive vacation:) it was long overdue, so we decided, why not?! We travelled as group of 4 (with 2 small kids under age of 7) and were later joined by 3 more family members, (they stayed for a shorter period of time). First of all, Cuba has been through very tough times due to Covid as traveling was significantly reduced + frequent hurricanes, so I think people need to be understanding  [... read more]that this country is still recovering from all the loses, hence, some things might not work as expected (e.g. very low water pressure in showers/ beach showers are broken or don’t exist - would be very handy to wash the sand off your feet, but you gotta do it in your room, etc) or have limited supply (there were days when there were no disposable cups at the beach bars, so we couldn’t get any water/drinks - suggest to bring your own reusable one). However, people were absolutely amazing at the resort and would go well far and beyond to make your vacation enjoyable. Wanted to say special ‘Thanks’ to staff at the buffet who were so caring and always remembered what we preferred to drink/eat. Thank you so much Juli (Juriannis Moreira Rodriguez and Jeni (Jennari Morales Villanueva), you made our stay very special! Also, special thanks to Enme, our Air Transat Rep, who, in spite of Hotel being overbooked (Sunwing had issues that week and people had to stay few extra days at the resort as thee were no flights back home) helped us to negotiate late checkout. Our flight home was late at night and without his help, we would’ve ended up burning on a sun all day long with 2 small kids, (my 2 year old also still naps during the day). Thankfully, Enme, was able to push the management and get our room extended all the way till departure. Beach was absolutely stunning with plenty of room for all; no need to rush early in the morning and get your chairs, beach area was very spacious, so you could always find a room… my 6 year old really enjoyed ‘Kids Club’. It was her most favourite place to be. She claimed it was more fun than swimming with dolphins… oh well, at least we tried:)) The only thing we found irritating was room keys that never seemed to work - had to bring them back to the lobby to fix every second day, which was frustrating. Please fix this.

Resort almost not worth your money

So, we stayed for 7 days in April second half. The positive sides are: n ice nature, flower planting in area, sea water and water colour amazing, people very friendly. The negative aspects - inconsistent service, and supply with anything Cuba doesn't grow themselves. Restaurant, one, buffet style, once it gets dark outside, lighting is almost non-existant, can't see what youy put in your mouth. The serving counters are lit tho. Three restaurants that one needs a reservation for. Those [... read more] are pleasant and well lit. Food okay, one has choices, taste so and so, often they run out of food, plates, drinks. It's you and your luck. The bars have mainly rum , about 20 different kinds. There is one bar, the lobby bar, which is the best stocked. Several coffees are all delicious. Rooms are okay, the maid will re stock the toilet paper if she has any, same for fresh bottled water in the room. These are essential supplies - at times you actually have to "go find" yourself. That I found unacceptable! Entertainment - that was fine, around pools, and in lobby area in evening. To close my assessment of the hotel - We, there were 9 people in my family group, We were unhappy that the Travel Agency actually sold this place as an All-Inclusive, unacceptable, AND that Air Canada Vacation offers that hotel, equally unacceptable. Needless to say I would NOT recommend this hotel, nor go back.

Such Wonderful Staff

We love this place so much. The staff are so friendly and work so hard to make sure you’re happy with your vacation. We noticed a few shortages this trip, compared to pre-Covid, but nothing that really affected the quality of our stay. The Covid protocol was adhered to by the staff and guests, and I felt very safe there. The beach is fabulous, our room was clean, and the grounds were gorgeous. We will definitely go back again.

Not the same

My family went to Memories 4 years ago. We liked it a lot so decided to go back this year. It was not the same. We were told that the government now runs it and it was somehow let to run down. Never enough bath towels, water bottles or toilet paper in the room. The pool bar and beach bar ran out of alcohol?!? The food was, well still to be expected in Cuba but much fewer options. They ran out of food at the beach grill. Only once did they have hamburgers to pick up at that grill. The b [... read more]right side is we still got to enjoy bonding time, the beautiful white sand beach, the clean turquoise ocean and the 7 full days of sun!

Disappointed

This resort needs to be renovated badly. Furniture and cushions in lobby area are very old and in desperate need of new upholstery. Rooms are dated. Bathtubs are very high and difficult to enter into. Very difficult for the elderly. No water pressure in the shower and somedays no water at all. Bathroom towels were old and gray. Food was always the same. No variety in food. At the snack bar always ran out of food after standing in line and then being told they ran out of food. The only things positive about this resort is that the grounds were nice and the beach was amazing. I would not recommend this resort to any of my friends and would rate it as a 2 star.

Great Get-a-way for a week!

It was lovely. Because of Covid, they are just updating the buildings, and the staff were very friendly. I loved the Massage. Best one I've ever experienced. Always problems with the stock of toilet paper but always took my own, just in case. the washrooms needed a plumber to update. Beach was so beautiful. Entertainment was top notch!

Absolute waste of time and money!

Memories flamenco Cuba was an absolute waste of our time and money. They rate this resort as a 4 1/2 *, the resort isn't worth 2 stars. Beach is beautiful, that's the only positive to this resort. Food or lack there of was atrocious, inedible most of the time. Resort was filthy. Lost water for a day and a half. Service was horrendous. Resort was fine taking our credit for Cuban money only to tell us afterwards that Cuban money is only good for tipping, and then refusing to give us Canadian money [... read more] back so we could buy our kids souvenirs. Why theyre stock piling Canadian money is beyond me!! Paid extra for a ocean view room only to show up to a swamp/dumping land view room. Beds may as well have been box springs probably would have been more comfortable. And last but not least both my Girlfriend and I are now off work because we both contracted Covid!! Never again!! Will never recommend Cuban resorts or Sunwing to anyone ever again.

Awesome Beach

Why are you going to cuba? Well its not for the food! I didnt starve but i also didnt come out needing to size up on my pants. it is a beautiful island with many nice people. Everyone was happy and kind. The beach w the sand bar was lovely snd thats why you book this resort. The rooms were out dated but hopefully if your spending money to travel you wont ve spending ample time in the room. 3rd floor water pressure wasnt great but it got the job done. During covid at the buffet each station had a server or 2 to fill our plates for us as to not have everyone touching the utensils Fine by me. Not a huge hold up. Most resorts to a lobster night but this one did not. You can take a 35$ can ride in an okd fashion car to Lennys for 25$ lobster shrimp and chickem i was told. or 219$of their money which is like 38$canadian for lobster st the resort. The a la cartes nothing to get upset about if you didnt get a chance to book. Small portions and nothing real amazing at them. My favorite was the bruschetta at the italian....2 small pieces and a soup at the Mediterranean i believe. As for steak if you like rare...good look probably wont happen. Just go into it knowing if your a foodie then cuba may not be the place for you. 2 nice pools one w a swim up bar and a baby waiting pool as the 3rd. Our outlets match theirs in Canada and US. Bring canadian or US money. Dont swap your cash for cuban cash as they dont use it anymore. take a little walk out of the hotel to your left and 2 resorts down (the one thats not open) they have a little market. OR take a 10 min bus ride for im not sure how much $ to the bigger market. disco is a bus ride you have to pay for which also pays for your alcohal 10 mins away. Spa people? Get a massage over looking thr beach or take a ride 10 mins away for the mud and seaweed type spa.

Lovely stay

Covid makes everything a bit tougher, but the hotel accommodated us well regardless. The food, once we got onto what we liked (ie. rice!), was fine. The rum continues to be excellant, and the weather was gorgeous. I had problems with bug bites, but the other 2 I travelled with experienced no such thing. It has one of the best beaches we've ever been on.
