Mosquito infested resort

This place is infested with mosquitoes and also some rooms have bed bugs.. If you can get past that...everything else is really great except the ocean. Smelly seaweed. The staff are really great. Steak house is awesome. One other thing. Why up charge $45 US for a frigging $10 Lobster tail. It’s gouging for something that’s supposed to be all inclusive

Worst Royalton I have been too

With the exception of the food, which was good, the service at the front desk, how we were treated was terrible. They said it was our agent's fault our room was incorrect. We booked a 2 bedroom Presidential Suite. Suite, as the name implies has a living room and two(2) adjoining bedrooms. No, in their case, it means a One(1) Bedroom suite beside a one bedroom studio suite with NO adjoining door in between. Essentially, 2 bedrooms separate. We brought our sixteen(16) year old son which had to sta [... read more]y in a room by himself. Is that what we paid for? If so, shame on us. I do not think so. I am tired of this type of treatment. P.S.: Let me also state, the beach was horrible. It was filled with weeds and SO DARK. Could not swim there. Terrible

Amazing Resort

My husband and I visited for 9 days for his 60th birthday. We usually travel South a couple of times each winter but this year we were only able to go once so we decided on 9 days and picked the Royalton Riviera Cancun. We got the diamond club with a swim out room. The place is amazing, its huge and yet u don't need a shuttle to get around. There are alot of ramps and escalators and even elevators. The pools are all beautiful and large with plenty of loungers. In the diamond club there is a pool [... read more] person who gets u a spot, if you don't get your own and he comes around with extra towels. We had a butler who visited us several times a day to make sure all our needs were met and checked on our maid service and also made our dinner reservations as we requested, again these guys were fabulous, very attentive and helpful. The food is great in all restaurants, we were never disappointed with any of it, even the buffet was great. I would like to add its the biggest buffet i have ever seen in all my travels, plenty of variety indeed. There are several spots to eat, breakfast if you prefer not to do the buffet which is a nice change also. We even used the room service for his birthday breakfast and the service again was awesome. All the entertainment, day or night was very good and made our trip interesting and fun. We went to relax and chill out so we didn't take any tours etc but there are plenty of tour options if that's what you desire. We prefer to stick around the resort and its so pleasant with enough going on that we never once got bored. All the staff we encountered were constantly smiling and very pleasant made, this made our stay even more welcoming. The only negative i would have to say is the beach area, for swimming was not great as there is alot of seaweed at this time of year and for us it didn't make getting into the ocean appealing. But to take a walk or sit on loungers, have some lunch and hit the beach bar it was fine. We have always said it would be nice to find our "spot" for winter vacation and just go back every year and know we will not be disappointed. So YES we have now found the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and both my husband and I cant wait to return again. I just loved this place!

Beautiful Resort

We just returned from the Royalton Cancun.We were in a swim up suite in the Hideaway Section with Diamond service.We were very pleased with this resort.The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained.Food and service was terrific.Room service was quick and dependable.Not once were we bothered with anyone selling anything.The butlers were wonderful(Jose and Alavero).All staff members were very pleasant and always seemed happy to serve us.Pool towels were never an issue.We are very happy we fo [... read more]und this resort and we will return.

Amazing Honeymoon!

This resort was absolutely beautiful! Great food and good service. Premium liquor used for the drinks. This resort is huge and with so many pools to choose from you never felt crowded even though it was prime holiday time. Everyone was friendly. You don't have to reserve a restaurant and only need to wait a bit for a table. We did not see the need to upgrade to the diamond club. One thing we didn't care for was our first room overlooked the mangrove. Would have like an ocean view but the hotel was fully booked so pool view was fine. This resort has a beautiful beach, however....they seriously need to do something about the weeds. They wash up on shore and for some reason the resort does not remove them. There is a ridge of weeds constantly on the beach. We did see them using a tractor to rake them up but can see weeds falling back out onto the beach. They do this during the day when everyone is on the beach. This is something that should be done in the very early morning before people start heading to the beach. Not very appealing when you are lying there and the tractor is slowly going by. At other resorts the beach is cleaned very early so that guests are annoyed by the weeds. This is a wonderful resort and we will definitely be going back again!

Royalton Riviera Cancun amazing hotel

the resort and staff are amazing ..very helpful and food is fantastic..pools are warm . swim up a must especially if u r in direct sun...definitely a 5 star hotel and we will be returning again next year with family

Wonderful vacation!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this resort. We upgraded to the presidential suite (1 bed) as it was the only option in a quieter part of the resort. Food was outstanding. Service was wonderful. there was never an issue getting a spot at either the pools or the beach. the only negatives for me was there was indeed lots of seaweed on the beach but they worked really hard to keep it clean. That would have been nice to help keep the kids going until 9 pm.. other than that it truly was wonderful and we would definetely go back.

Amazing Resort!

We just got back from our week long stay at Royalton in Mayan Riviera. It was incredible! We have 2 young children and we cannot say enough good things - food was incredible, room was clean and comfortable, the whole resort was immaculate! Would recommend and stay again in an instant!

We enjoyed our stay!

This place has a daily schedule full of activities for kids, adults and/or families. Schedules of daily activities are posted a week at a time so you can make plans. All the pools are great. The restaurants are great. The staff at all levels were great too. The one negative was the concierge on my floor who couldn't understand or get it when we said no to the "time share breakfast." They don't call it a time share but it is! For a 3 year old hotel and a five star rating the room we had was in n [... read more]eed of repairs ( rusting faucets, broken desk top, dirty curtains, broken chunks of wood from doors to furniture and a broken door handle). The TENNIS Pro (HECTOR) was amazing. I participated in the lessons as did my daughter's. We thoroughly enjoyed our lessons and looked forward to them daily. The resort is surrounded my mangroves so there are mosquitoes in the evenings. The beach and sand are great. Swimming in the ocean was fantastic. Resort is located 15 minutes from Cancun Airport and is situated by itself which we enjoyed. This holiday for us was about just relaxing and not running around to and from tourist sites. The spa was also very good.

Loved everything

I did not expect this place to be as nice ad it is. Loved everything about it. Buildings design, rooms ,pools,the buffet, the food all awesome. Beach is great, people are friendly. Definitely would like to return.

Wonderful resort!

We had a great week at the Roylaton (Hideway-Adult section). The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. Christian our butler made sure our needs were met. Our room was spacious, modern and overlooked the ocean. The bed was very comfortable! Room service was efficient. The food was very good and well presented. We enjoyed our afternoon cappuccino at the coffee shop. Maricella always served us with a smile. Wonderful resort where the staff is friendly and accommodating. Fantastic resort

The Hideaway at Royalton is fantastic. Great food! Great rooms! Great service! The staff is always pleasant and helpful-always a pleasure to serve their clients -- "es un placer" is what they all say. It is a beautiful resort.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort

The resort is amazing, the choices for food were excellant, and the staff were always polite and wanted to help. It is a shame the same cannot be said for the Sunwing portion of this trip. Sunwing go out of their way to make things difficult, especially during the flight, the aeroplane was a disgrace and the flight crew were impollite. I would use vthis resort again but I noticed that their were differanmt companies offering this resort on their schedule, I would definately recommend using a  [... read more]differant travel company. Amazing resort!!

The rooms and the resort in general were extremely clean! The grounds were very well kept with staff washed the windows and floors of the resort daily. The food was outstanding with lots of choice, very exquisitely prepared. We even got messages on our TV asking us when we would like our room serviced and even got a goodbye note :) We would recommend this resort and plan on going back in the near future! Fabulous resort!

My family and I just came back from a short vacation at the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa, and we are already looking forward to going back again. We were received graciously by the resort's warm and respectful staff. Although we had to wait for a day to get the room we desired, it was worth the wait. The rooms are beautiful, neat, and tidy. Service is A1. Food is spectacular, and evening/night events are superb. We started recommending this resort to friends and family on our first day at the resort. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation.

Perfect for families best entertainment

Hotel was immaculate service exceptional and the team really does all they can to entertain the kids. Really good shows for adults as well along with activities. Highly recommend this resort for couples looking to relax or families with kids. The diamond club looks really nice too. Only think didn't like the sales pressuring upon arrival to resort.

The hotel very nice but too many child in all swimming pool and buffet resturan small room sarvis delay Too expensive when take pic and you need one total good hotel not very good and some people in hotel push you to get your credit card

Return vacationers

We loved this resort last year when my husband and I went, so much so we returned this year with our children. The royalton did not disappoint! Service was amazing, kids club workers were fabulous and food was out of this world!

Best Vacation Ever !!

The Royalton was an excellent resort to vacation at. The staff, the grounds, the food choices were all amazing. We could not have chosen a better place to vacation. We had a very relaxing week which is just what we wanted. Everyone was very friendly and willing to help us in anyway they could. The weather was hot but there was always a nice breeze to keep you cool. The pools were clean and very refreshing. We walked the beach every morning after breakfast. The entertainment staff were ver [... read more]y friendly and always offering great choices of things to participate in. The room was very nice and clean. The buffet was lovely and had a very good selection of things to eat. All the restaurants we tried had excellent service and great food. The bars were all nice and had yummy drinks and the bartenders were all very anxious to give us whatever we asked for. It was just a great all around vacation and we would definitely go back to the Royalton in the future.

Five star for sure

Traveled April 22, 2017 for a week. Had a lovely ocean front room. Food was fabulous as were the drink choices. Great weather and the beach was very nice except there was a lot of seaweed on the beach and in the water whenever the water was rough. Staff were perfect and everything very clean. Say hi to Roselea in the sports bar from Canada. Perfect person for the job. No problems getting a lounge on the beach or by the pools.
