El Dorado Seaside Palms: Fun holiday

The good: We stayed on the Palms side versus the seaside suites and much preferred the rooms and the beautiful grounds where the palms is situated. The Palms side is also where most of the night life occurs and also where the beaches are better. Night life and entertainment were great. The food was better depending on the restaurant selected - the Asian and Italian restaurant up by the main entrance lobby were the best. Make sure to wear very light clothing for the Italian restaurant as it te [... read more]nds to be exceptionally warm. For the most part the service is good and the staff are very friendly. The entertainment up at the pool was also a lot of fun. The not so good: The seaweed! No matter how hard, or how many people worked each day, the seaweed did have a negative impact on the beach experience. We were at this same resort 2 years ago in early March and the beaches were beautiful. Unfortunately not this year. Both my husband and I got diarrhea - a first for the many Karisma resorts we have travelled. We spoke to another guest who had a similar story but we had not eaten in the same restaurants. Despite this we had a great holiday and would still consider going to this resort again but perhaps more in January or February to try to avoid the seaweed.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Not a 5 star

The resort is small and landscaped beautifully.Room was nice and very nice balcony . Cons- chairs around pools all claimed by breakfast had to get up by 6 to put out towels. Coffee! There is a Starbucks for pay. Maybe that’s why coffee wasn’t offered Coffee offered at breakfast only and not the good Mexican coffee we’ve had at other resorts.. we did ask for coffee at dinner and only two restaurants had coffee. - no special coffees but liqueurs were available. No sports bar to get food late but there was 24 hr room service The only other thing was on arrival late night we had to find our room on our own and didn’t know where elevator or stairs were when we found our building Pros-All the staff were very friendly,helpful and hard working A la cart breakfasts were very good and the four restaurants and poolside BBQ were good Resort was very clean and well maintained Activities offered were good Seaweed this year was horrendous. There was no way they were able to keep up with it but they did work hard

Selection Riviera Cancun: Just what we needed

We were a group of 9 from 8 months old to 66 yrs. This was an ideal location for us. Every staff member was friendly and each made our needed holiday special. The pools were great for the kids. Staff and fellow tourists were respectful re: covid risk issues. Rooms were bigger and more equipped than we expected.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Very nice place

Amenities, services, food and drinks were extraordinary. The beach is very narrow and due to the seaweed, was impossible to walk or even stay there. Water was really murky, I am not sure it was because of the seaweed, wind or just the way it is. We stayed at the pool and that was fine, there were never shortages of lounge chairs. They served drinks right at your chair and each day they had a pop up kitchen that was good for lunch at the pool. In our 10 days, 3 of these happened and it seemed a little ... odd ... since we paid for the "adult" pool for the entire time. If they would stop with these private events and the beach would be clean, we would consider going back, but since the latter will only improve on the seaweed level, we will look for a different place next time

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Not quite up to their usual standards

Gorgeous resort with very nice pools and well kept gardens. Was a little disappointed in the quality of food. It was good but not the usual great. Rooms are a little dated for a 5 star. The towel game is going strong for a place at one of the pools. While the beach is beautiful, there is no access by the main pool area and seaweed is abundant. They really made an effort with masking and safety protocols. If you fly with Air Canada, beware that the rep is never in the office. Covid test (antigen) was not free. Most resorts it is included. It’s a long (took 2 hours) drive from the airport but if you take a private car, it’s about an hour. Overall a good time was had but wasn’t quite as good as I expected from a Karisma resort. I’m sure this is a result of covid and I hope they can get back to their usual standards soon.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Great resort

The room we booked was the beach front second level, the view was breathtaking , the room was specious and clean, the fridge was filled everyday , you have 24hr room service, drinks were great, the beach it's self was okay , it had some seaweed but the workers were cleaning it everyday , the ocean is not deep , the food was okay the best food was at the ala carte resturant , the buffet was find, the sandwich resturant outside was good, staff was great, very friendly, would have to hire more peop [... read more]le as sometimes you have to wait , overall we loved it here and would love to come back ❤

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Amazing Resort For Kids!

The best facility we have been to, very CLEAN, the infiniti pool overlooking the sea is very unique. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, modern and well designed. Your wristband is actually your room key. Water park is great but be aware that parents can't come down on the slides with their children: the rides are for children only. They Work 12 days for 3 days off or 6 days for 1 day off, depending on the department, so do take care of them. El Dorado Royale: Loved this resort! I almost cancelled.

Thankfully my travel agent encouraged me to try this resort! Beautiful grounds, hundreds of palm trees, restaurants were great! Favourite breakfast-Cocotal, lunch - the health bar if your into salads and sitting at the ocean. Dinners, there were a few favs - D’Italia villas. Nothing was crowded because the property is large enough that you can freely walk along the paths along the ocean. With 12 pools you will enjoy a daily swim - never a shortage of loungers. I have been to a few 5 star resorts, this one is now one of the best. Staff is professional and personable. It was so relaxing, and everyone we spoke with was having the best experience as well, most people we met had been there before- some 10 years in a row. I think my husband & I will come here at least 2 weeks every winter.

El Dorado Royale: Great Resort

The resort is great. The location is okay. Just a short distance to Play Del Carmen or Cancun if you need to go shopping. The resort is safe, very clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and ready to help when you need it. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The room service is 24/7. We got a garden view and did not regret about. The drinks are good. The beach is small (open for swimming) but comfortable. The resort's territory is big enough if you like to walk. Entertainment every night.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Wonderful New Year's Vacation

For New Year's Eve 2022, my wife and I took two of our adult daughters and our son-in-law to El Dorado Seaside Suites Infinity. It was our 3rd time at the resort and everyone else's first time. We had a fabulous vacation! Our daughters had two poolside swim up rooms (ground floor). We had a 3rd floor infinity "swim up". Accessibility: One daughter uses mobility devices to get around. We rented a GoChair from PlayaMobility (in Playa del Carmen), and brought her walker and canes. The resor [... read more]t isn't quite accessible by Canadian standards - there are "little" steps up and down all over the place. However, a ramp was placed in front of her room for the week, and most of the restaurants had a ramp to help with any steps. The staff and guests were willing to help ease the GoChair in/out on the handful of occasions that she required assistance. Ultimately, she was able to get in and out of the pool daily and visit the beach (with family assistance). And, to explore independently. Meals: El Dorado Seaside Suites is a gourmet inclusive resort. Every meal was delicious. The dinners being the most elaborate, elegant and unique in terms of culinary experience. It seemed like every meal was better than the previous - nightly we were proclaiming "best meal ever!" only for it to be outdone the next evening. Our favourite restaurants were the Culinarium (fusion), Carreta (Mexican), Mia Casa Dorado (Italian) and Klay Talay (Asian). COVID Protocols: ALL STAFF were masked at ALL TIMES. Our rooms were cleaned daily and were spotless. There is a nightly turn down service. Guests are asked to wear masks on the transportation (stretch golf carts) and in the common areas. Most guest complied, but not all (such are the times). In your room, on the beach / loungers / Bali beds, pool or swim up bar masks were off. Our concierge arrange for private COVID tests in our rooms ($100USD) 2 days prior to departure. It was professional, convenient, quick and we had the results (5x NEGATIVE) within about 12 hours. So, it's definitely possible for 5 fully vaccinated adults to vacation for a week and remain healthy. (As confirmed by random testing upon return to Canada.) Rooms: All the rooms were magnificent and accessible once inside. The bathrooms were spacious - jetted tub, separate shower, separate water closet. and double sinks. All of which are good for a marriage. Our only regret was not getting a poolside room like our daughters. The higher floor provided a more spectacular view and privacy. But, the Infinity "River" was COLD, while the main pool was relatively warm. But, in the end we prefer to swim instead of wade. Other: The El Dorado team "bent over backwards" to provide a great stay for our family. All servers were courteous, warm and professional. We'll be back.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Christmas and NYE at ElDorado

Stayed at ElDorado Seaside for Christmas and NYE. There were theme events and big parties on 25th and 31st of Dec. Fire show from Cancun was visiting one day. Hotel has two lobbys. I was staying close to the beach. Room was spacious and clean. Maid service was prompt and at the highest standard. Hotel has clean beach with shallow water and pools. There were plenty of restaurants at the resort with decent selection of food. Pcr test for travelling is available at the hotel. One possibl [... read more]e downside was small selection of alcohol at the resort. Wine is limited to red and white wine. Whisky – only basic choices. Overall it's a great place for vacation.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Great Vacation

Exceeded expectations: people, food, bar, pool. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and goes out of their way to make you feel at home. A special thanks to our concierge, Stephan... he was amazing. Yes, we had to get Covid Tests which costs about $130 US, but that went very smoothly.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Great rest and relaxation resort!

We spent a week (Dec 14 - 21) at the El Dorado Seaside Palms for some R&R and escape from life. This resort is a great place for doing just that with an amazing beach and tall palm trees throughout the resort. The resort does a great job making their resort feel like a magical place. The staff were incredibly thoughtful, friendly and helpful towards our needs and requests. Staff followed covid protocols and we never felt unsafe from the staff. The food was amazing and we would like to especially highlight the food at La Carretta, which was absolutely amazing and represents the flavours of Mexico especially well. The tacos, stuffed peppers and mole dishes are a must eat, and be sure to have some churros and flavoured coffee to end your meal. The beach BBQ was a great place to have breakfast and lunch, as there is nothing better than eating on the beach! There weren't many negatives to our stay, however we need to mention a few things so future guests are aware of what to expect. First, upon entering the ocean from the beach area, there are many rocks and corals in the sand, so be careful when walking around in the water. Second, the room decor in our suite was from the late 90's and felt a bit dated, though this should was fine as we did not spend our time hanging out in the room apart from the end of the day. And lastly, when walking around the resort, the mangrove forest areas towards the back of the premium suites can have pretty strong smell from the stagnant water. This resort was an absolute dream and perfect for those looking for a quiet retreat from the ordinary. Enjoy some lime margaritas on the beach while suntanning. Sit on the swings over the water or spend the day on the bali beds (get there early to get one!) while drinking cheladas. Or lay on a hammock with a book watching the sunset. This resort is truly a hidden gem.

El Dorado Royale: Beautiful Place to Vacation

My favourite resort we have been to in Cancun. The food was amazing, staff was super friendly and welcoming. COVID protocols were in place and we felt very safe there. Would definitely come back again

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Resort NOT for us

We found the resort beautifully maintained, staff were fantastic, food was good, COMMUNICATION totally lacking. My husband and I are older and he needs help getting around, we found this resort to be more for people that like to party that is NOT US. We like to relax and just veg on vacation and are used to much more service and help for transport. I would not recommend this resort for someone older.

This is our second visit to the El Dorado, but the first to the Seaside Palms. Love the laid back atmosphere. They are doing an amazing job during this time of "Covid", making sure masks are worn in restaurants and enclosed spaces and supplying an endless amount of sanitizer. Felt very safe. We asked for extra chairs, which did not ever arrive, so we moved the couch to the bedroom area in front of the t.v..........problem solved. The restaurant and bar staffs were excellent. Food, once again, did not disappoint, it was very good.... We will return.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Great time!

EDSS, was amazing. We traveled Nov 1st-10th. Stayed in the beachfront room 3004. It is literally 26 steps from the patio to the sand. Want to acknowledge all the hard working and friendly staff. Thomas from the beach always had a warm fresh towel for us, Dani from the restaurant greeted us with a smile and Mario our conceriege who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment. Tip, bring a floatie for the ocean. Also painted a bowl for a keep sake. The vendor is set up beside the pool store. He has great prices and makes your creation look like a masterpiece. Overall, worth every penny. I would go back in a heartbeat.

El Dorado Maroma: Amazing resort

Food, beach and service were the best. I am Celiac and they made sure that my food was prepared safely. If you like quiet this is the place to be. The only thing that I would add is that there are just very few lounge chairs at all pools so that is missing for me as I was never able to have one all week but at the beach no problem.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Fantastic Resort

We moved from the Suites to the Palms, next door (same property). Was a great decision as the Palms is more private than the Suites. Fantastic services and accomodations. Special thanks to our Concierge J Romero, and butlers Ana and Arturo - they were AMAZING!!!! They made our stay perfect. Very disappointing beach front though - it was a rock wall for the most part because the beach goes straight into the ocean (and not in a nice way).

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Excellent service!

The staff are so considerate to your needs. Cleaning constantly! We’ve been twice, once during Christmas break 2019 and recently Dec 23rd to 30th 2020. We stayed on the 4th floor ocean front swim up in the Infinity section and loved it! Gorgeous views. Highly recommend the deep tissue message and Hydrotherapy at the spa. Enjoy!
