Couples Tower Isle: Much less than expected

The reviews for this resort were great so I had high expectations. I was very disappointed with our stay. For 2200$ per person for a basic room I expected working light bulbs, access to my room, ice, water and beverages! Stayed at Couples Tower Isle Nov 25-Dec 2 The cons: -room light burnt out, no bulbs available entire week -frequent power outages day 1 -door lock broke, locked out of room x 2hours day 2 -elevators broke 2 days of trip -soda machines empty x2 days -water fountains [... read more] jack hammered out of the walls on day 4, not repaired -ice machine broke 1 day -hair dryer broke on arrival, this was replaced -room service spilled coffee in room on day 2, they removed the soiled pillows and floor mats and linens but never replaced the pillows or mats. Never cleaned or changed the soiled curtain with 4ft coffee stain The pros: beach and water sports were amazing, staff were friendly and I didn’t feel pressure to tip. Food was good but service was a mix of good bad and so-so Overall the daily issues with the resort made it difficult to relax and enjoy my vacation. I would not recommend this resort and do not plan to return. I have had much better experiences with other all inclusives for half the cost.

Couples Negril: Great to Return to Couples Negril

This was our 6th time at Couples Negril, and one of our best vacations here so far. They have done some noticeable upgrades to the resort which was a nice bonus and we are already looking at booking our next vacation for early 2019. The food was great, the staff we very helpful and friendly once again, and it didn't hurt that we had an exceptional week of sunshine. See you soon!

Couples Tower Isle: Fabulous Resort

Just recently returned from our trip to Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We were there the first week of November 2018 and booked via the Tripcentral web site. This was our second trip to a couples resort, the first being to San Souci in Nov 2015. Arrival at Montego Bay airport was on time and we had cleared customs, retrieved luggage and were in the couples lounge at the airport in under 30 minutes. Arrival at the lobby, we were welcomed by friendly staff at reception, given a rum punch and a cold towel.Check in was just a few minutes and we were off to our room (garden view in building 3, 2nd floor). The room was very quiet at night for sleeping. Some rooms and the main hallway had a lot of painting going on during the day. Elevators were available in this building for those with mobility issues. The room was spotless when we arrived. It had a large bed, balcony with 2 chairs and a table, washroom with a shower (no tub), vanity as well as a hair dryer and some soaps/shampoo. It also had a large walk-in closet to store luggage and the safe was located here along with an ironing board and iron. The room also had a mini fridge that was stocked with pop, water, some juice and two Red Stripes. You could also order full bottles of wine and liquor delivered to your room at no charge, but also available at extra cost were more expensive brands of wine and liquor. One comment I heard a lot about Tower Isle is how much people like that everything is connected to the main building. There are elevators for those who have difficulty with stairs. If it is raining you will not get wet (unless you are walking to the Bayside restaurant). There were lots of people who were repeat visitors. Staff I have to say the people who work here at the resort were very friendly to visit with and very attentive. This was a common comment I heard all week from other guests, but I would completely agree with. Very nice people. Food / Drinks We were fortunate enough to enjoy all of the restaurants at Tower Isle. We did not order room service but it was available. Our favourite restaurant was Bayside, as we love to eat out in the open air in the Caribbean and it was built out over the ocean. Food at all venues was excellent. The Patio (also open air) for daily breakfast buffet was more than adequate to start the day, while we varied it a bit between the Pool Grill for lunch and the Veggie Bar for snacks. Service was good in all restaurant venues. Loved the soup’s, we tried them every day. The patio converts to a served meal for dinner service and the other great option to eat was the Verandah. Eight Rivers is the more formal restaurant (dress code) and was also excellent. Martini bar is on the roof, Sundays and Wednesday’s. Gala was on Saturday, Beach Party and Repeaters dinner was on Monday’s. All fun events and well run. Loved the nacho’s and ice cream in the Pool Grill daily. Entertainment We took in some of the entertainment but we turn in a bit early to get up early. What we saw was very good. The steel drum Silverbirds were there one night and throughout the week they had a lot of different singers, all very good, but we missed a lot of it due to our dinner eating times or we headed over to the spa for some hot tub and mineral pool time before turning in. Island The Au Natural island can be visited early in the morning if you want to go over with clothing on and just look around and take some pictures. It converts to Au Natural around 9am until about 5pm. Catch the pontoon boat at the pier and they will take you over and bring you back. I don’t think we ever waited longer than a minute or two for the pontoon boat at either end of the trip. The island has lots of loungers, a small pool to cool down in, a well stocked bar, lots of shade if needed, a washroom. They also bring over some food and have a bbq there as well for lunch. The entertainment staff also run a game or two over there during the day. They Have some music playing at the bar. Loved watching the crabs climb on the rocks. The island was only closed one day for us due to weather, so we did a trading places to Sans Souci. It can also close early if a wedding Is set up. Check with guest services to find out which days they have weddings planned. Spa We enjoyed the hot tub and the mineral pool in the evening at the spa. Hot tub first then cool down in the mineral pool. Great way to end the day. Part of the reason we missed some of the entertainment. Take a towel. Trading Places We ended up trading places one day as the island was closed due to high winds. So we boarded the shuttle bus that Will take you over to Sans Souci from about 10:00am until about 4:00pm. We loved visiting Sans Souci again. Drinks and lunch were good as was the pool volleyball. Looking back, the things that really stood out for Tower Isle were the dining, the friendly staff and all of the nice people we were lucky enough to meet from Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom and a couple from Germany. We will definitely return for a visit some day and I would also recommend it to others.

Couples Sans Souci: Great time

This was our second visit to the couples Resorts chain we previously had stayed at couples swept away this resort was equally amazing I highly recommend We will return for a third visit to the couples chain

Couples Sans Souci: Fabulous all around!

This hotel was stunning. A smaller resort which was great for avoiding large crowds. The food was excellent and the service even better. The beach was gorgeous, and the grounds immaculate. Another highlight was the Dunn's River Falls excursion which was included in the price.

Couples Tower Isle: Great Resort

This was are fourth time at this resort. It still meets are expectations. The grounds are well kept and the resort is clean. ( Even though it was off season and they were painting ) We ate at all the restaurants and the food was fabulous. The staff was friendly and helpful if we needed anything. Will go again next year.

Couples Swept Away: Fantastice Resort - 7th time back

If you are looking for a great beach, food, accommodations, activities, friendly staff, most of all value....lok no further. Visit once and your hooked, nothing else compares. We returned for our 7th visit and are still in love with this resort and the staff whom make it all happen. The food is top notch, the grounds are breath taking, lush and green. The water is like glass, calm and clear. The rooms are very comfortable. Endless activities are included such as diving and catamaran crui [... read more]se, glass bottom boat tour. You wont be disappointed.

Couples Swept Away: Amazing Resort to stay at

Everything about Couples Swept Away is fantastic. The beach is amazing, the staff are very friendly and yes we call them our friends after going for our 5th time. The food is great and the rooms are clean. The vegetation is lush as well. We highly recommend this resort. It's a short 3hr 45 min flight from Toronto which is nice.

Couples Swept Away: We will be back!!

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at Couples Swept Away, and we were not disappointed. The rooms are clean and comfortable, however if you are looking for posh accommodations then this is not the resort for you. As always, we found the food to be excellent and plentiful. Service is sometimes slow, but remember that you are on "island time". We found the staff to be helpful and friendly and when we asked to be moved to a different room due to an ant problem, they accommodate [... read more]d our request immediately and we ended up with a room that had a better view of the beach. The grounds of the resort are lush and beautiful, and meticulously cared for by the staff. The beach is the best we have seen in the Caribbean; white sand and crystal clear water. There are some vendors selling their wares along the beach, however a simple "no thank you" will send them on their way. We met other couples who have been to this resort multiple times, some of them as many as 30 times! We cannot wait to go back again!!

Couples Negril: Wonderful resort!

We returned from our vacation three days ago. It was the best vacation we’ve ever had. The staff were all warm and friendly. Our room was clean and in good repair. The food was absolutely delicious, with lots of variety. The beach was perfect! (Especially the nude beach) Donnovan was the best part of the entertainment. Don’t pass up a chance to see him. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

Couples Swept Away: Beautiful and relaxing

Amazing stay. Beautiful rooms with large verandahs with hammock and generous seating area overlooking the beautiful and tropical grounds of the hotel (or beach if you get a beach front room). Beach was stunning and long. Sand was soft and comfortable to endlessly walk on. Water was warm and felt like a massage to the soul. Staff are very friendly and there is always an interesting conversation to be had. Anything you want is available easily - towels, fresh juices, drinks, ice cream, snacks and of course the beach! Great water sports available for free on site - including snorkelling, kayaking, sailing. Pools and many jacuzzi's on site. Easy to have time on your own or mingle if you want with other guests. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing holiday.

Couples Swept Away: Amazing honeymoon

We arrived at Couples Swept Away a little later in the day. We found we didn't receive the warmest welcome from the front desk or the reservation lady (it was 7:55 and she told us she was closed so come back in the morning) but we don't worry about stuff like that. We went to our room on the second floor. The air conditioning was really loud and the TV didn't work and the tree frogs really loud as we were in front of a pond. The next morning we requested a new room and they accommodated us. Our  [... read more]new room 3111 was awesome. The rooms here are not marble but are very rustic. You have to love that sort of thing. We were on the ground floor in an ocean veranda room. We loved that we could walk right out and we could see the ocean. The food here was wonderful as were the restaurants. We took advantage of the fitness centre across the street as well as the catamaran ride and glass bottom boat and snorkeling. All were amazing as the guides worked so had to ensure everyone was safe. He even jumped in the water with us and gave us food to feed the fish. We were pretty much the only Canadians and we met some wonderful American couples that had been at this resort numerous times and showed us the ropes. The beach here is unbelievable. We loved the floaties for the water. Had a great time. We would definitely return.

Couples Sans Souci: Mostly enjoyable

We stayed at CSS for a week (June 29- July 6, 2018). We’ve been to Jamaica many times but this was our first visit to Sans Souci. For the most part we had a very enjoyable time and will likely return in the future. The property is beautiful and very charming. There are definitely a lot of steps but they do offer shuttle service on the resort if you need a lift. A&B blocks are down near the restaurants, beach, and pool so they may be better options for those with mobility issues. We stay [... read more]ed in G block which offered amazing views. We hear the rooms in F&G blocks are slated for remodeling soon so that will only enhance a future stay. We found the mattress hard and requested a topper through guest services and that made a big difference in comfort and rest. The main beach is fairly small compared to other properties we’ve visited. The swimming area has a lot of beach grass in it and the water was murky a couple of days. We were wondering why they don’t make a dock or wharf for the numerous boats so they could extend the swimming area. We didn’t go to the nude beach so can’t comment on that side at all. The mineral pool by the spa is nice. We went swimming a couple evenings after dinner as well as a couple afternoons. It’s very tranquil and relaxing and felt good on the skin. One afternoon around 3pm I decided to try the Mediterranean platter from Charlie’s bar so we asked what time the menu was available until. We were told 5pm so around 330/345pm we went up to order and were told they were out of pita bread. I said no problem and asked if I could have some of their homemade chips instead of the pita. Well - the only things I received were a couple triangles of rice stuffed grape leaves and the chips. I can’t remember what exactly the menu says now but I thought it was supposed to have hummus, olives, and feta cheese as well? Didn’t see any of that. I had heard the hummus was quite good so I was looking forward to trying it. My partner ordered the duo of dips with chips and got some chips and one dip. This was the one and only time we encountered poor service on the CSS property throughout the entire week. We truly felt like we were bothering this employee by ordering from Charlie’s bar so we decided on future visits we would swim in the pool but we wouldn’t try anything else so we wouldn’t upset him. The food was good in all restaurants. The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious and offered substantial variety each day. Highlights were the lamb and the beef from Casanova, shrimp pizza from the beach grill at lunch, fisherman’s stew from Palazzina at dinner, and every soup we had at every restaurant was delicious. We booked a private dinner in the gazebo one evening and it was lovely. Omar was our server and he was terrific. We chose the Lovers Delight menu and although they didn’t have lobster (it was substituted with shrimp) it was very tasty. The sauce on the beef tenderloin was delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly. We were looking forward to Jamaican night (on Tuesdays) but because of July 4th they didn’t have it while we were there so that was disappointing. We were also a bit saddened to see they don’t seem to acknowledge Canada Day at all here. This was a bit disheartening considering we have always been so welcomed and celebrated as Canadians at other resorts throughout the country when we visited when it wasn’t even Canada Day. Perhaps Couples Resorts should add in a little Canadian celebration on July 1st each year? We mentioned this to Guest Relations for future Canada Day guests and Miss Neysha Stampp personally brought up some rum, champagne, cards, and balloons to our room which we thought was very kind of her. Thank you Neysha! We ordered room service for breakfast a few times and for dinner one evening. 50% of the time the correct order was delivered within 30mins and at appropriate temperature, the other 50% we waited over an hour and only had our food delivered once we called to check on it. On these occasions items were either forgotten or cold when they should have been hot. So the room service was hit or miss for us. My partner loved the club sandwich from room service. I thought it was just ok. They put egg on their club sandwiches which just isn’t my thing. I had a massage and body treatment with Ruth at the spa and it was fantastic. She is a skilled therapist as well as a very friendly and kind person. Other staff members who made a positive impact on our vacation were Neysha from Guest Services, Hubert at the breakfast buffet, Serita at Palazzina for dinner, O’Neil at Bella Vista for dinner, and Christopher and Joel from the water sports team. We did a sunset cruise with them the last evening of our trip and it was absolutely amazing. Overall we had a pleasant stay at CSS and will consider a future stay there. Creating a larger swimming area at the main beach, adding new (softer) mattresses in the rooms, and an additional evening restaurant that doesn’t require reservations would speed up our return.

Couples Tower Isle: Best Trip so far!

This was our third trip to this resort, and it still continues to amaze us at how great this resort is. Everything from the staff, food, accommodations, spa and beach was truly fabulous. We truly enjoyed every minute from our arrival at the Carlingview Hotel in Toronto for Sleep, Park and Fly, the night before our flight, right up until we returned home. The staff also become your friends and they even remember you from previous stays.

Couples Sans Souci: San Souci, fabulous

The resort is spectacular, we have stayed at many Jamaican resorts but this is by far the best. Everything is top end, especially the people and staff who work there. The grounds are immaculate, the food exquisite, the ambiance out of this world.

Couples Tower Isle: Still amazing!

This is our 3rd time to Couples Tower Isle and it is still the only place we have repeated. The resort is kept immaculate. The common areas have all been updated with new furnishings since our last visit 5 years ago. While the bed is very comfortable, it is time to update the rooms. We can't say enough about the friendliness, courtesy and service attitude of all of the staff. I requested vegan meals, spoke to the chef the first night and something was prepared on the spot. In subsequent nights  [... read more]the guest services had emailed the restaurants we had chosen to eat at, and the chef's all had something prepared when I went to order. The pools and grounds are constantly being cleaned and swept. While the beach is small, it is raked every day and they have put up some canopies to provide shade.

Couples Swept Away: Met and exceeded our expectations!

We have been to Negril upwards of 20 times - CSA was our first AI in Negril. We have always either rented a villa or stayed at some of the smaller hotels on the cliffs and beach (including Idle Awhile - Couples Swept Away's "daughter" property just down the beach). After researching other areas in the Caribbean we opted to go back, yet again, to Negril because of the familiarity to the area, the property NOT being isolated, the more relaxed vibe, outdoor/ alfresco dining at almost all restaurant [... read more]s....which we didn't find at resorts in other areas in the Caribbean - if that makes sense! We had a terrific experience - below are some highlights/ lowlights: Highlights: 1. Staff: Amazing - friendly, helpful, engaging, had great sense of humour, always willing to go above and beyond. We were concerned about the no tipping policy and the level of service but what we found was that we have NEVER received BETTER service anywhere! 2. Grounds: Very well maintained. The property is older but it is lovely and stays very true to Jamaica's architecture, building materials etc.... 3. Beach: The best stretch of beach in all of Negril. It's huge! The great thing about this part of Jamaica/Negril (7 Mile Beach) is that you can literally walk the 7 miles. There's plenty to see along the way including other smaller hotels, bars and of course the beach "vendors".....if you are not interested in 'whatever' they are selling - just say "no thank you". Nothing to be intimidated by.....a few "no thank yous" is all you need to do. 3. Pools: Nice and refreshing pools on the property (3 in total) with a few hot tubs scattered around the property. 4. Food: Yum, yum, yummy food with plenty of variety at both the buffet (Palms) and Patois (al a carte), Lemon Grass (a la carte) and Feathers (a la carte) and the Cabana Grill (by the swim up bar - burgers etc...) 5. Rooms: Clean, fresh and well air conditioned. We were able to order our daily "refreshments" for delivery each day - if you like sparkling wine, it's really good there! Lowlights: (very few) 1. Beach palapas/ shade availability - it would be great if the resort offered umbrellas in addition to the lovely but few palapas available. We found out early in our stay that like other resorts, you have to wake up super-early (5 am) if you want to secure one of their palapas otherwise you are stuck finding shade under a tree among many other shade seekers. That was a bit unnerving...If the beach staff had umbrellas available for guests it would be great so we're not cowering under a palm tree far from the actual water. 2. Swim-up Bar: This is a very lively spot indeed! If you're looking for peace and quiet - find a spot on the beach, not by the pool. We found that there were a lot of guests perching themselves at the bar as soon as it opened (10am) and stayed until closing (6:30 pm?) - it can get pretty boisterous if you know what I mean..... That's it! We will definitely return!

Couples Sans Souci: Tropical Paradise

The San Souci resort will always stand out as one of our favorites, and we have experienced many. Our room was ocean front with a wonderful view of the ocean and surrounding tropical setting. Rooms are cleaned and very well serviced. The grounds are simply amazing with beautiful natural vegetation, scenic backdrops, character staircases, neat nooks and crannies. Hotel service was excellent on all fronts. Food was good, overall, but lacked variety and imagination. The 2 hour drive from the airpor [... read more]t is a bit of a drag. Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience.

Couples Swept Away: No regrets!

If you enjoy getting what you pay for then this is the place! Friendly staff, incredible beach, great food and dŕink all without any unwanted surprises. Janet Merrill did a great job of getting everything right for our trip!
