The Jr. Suites are small, including the toilet area & shower, if you are a bigger person you will find the toilet room too small and challenging to enter/exit. If you upgrade to better rooms or even diamond club the experience is completely different (we had people in our group that were diamond club).
The service at the restaurants is terrible, they were disorganized and it became quite frustrating. There were many times that we were not provided tea during meal (coffee was easy to receive) [... read more]which was requested when we sat down. It was difficult to get glasses for water & then getting them refilled, when you asked staff for a drink they seemed to forget about your request. I didn't see a supervisor or manager on the floor to ensure proper flow of staff to manage client needs. The resort was not full which made the lack of service surprising. Unfortunately the service at the a la carte restaurants was not any better.
Cleaning of the rooms daily didn't always occur which was odd, we had to address this multiple times, we had a large group and other people in different buildings experienced the same situation.
Bar service was good & the drinks, the food was good. Service at the Cafe was the absolute best! Entertainment at night was fantastic.
We won't return to this resort due to the service, it is surprising how much this negatively impacted our stay. There were people in our group that had been to this resort three times and will not return.
Hotel staff not friendly and unprofessional selling tactics that makes you want to cringe.
The hot tub area only for diamond club.
This was our second time and will be the last.
Rooms stink of sewage, changed room and smell was less.
Room service takes hours, fridge top up for water inconsistent.
Overall experience not great, had better experience at Cuba for fraction of the price.
Had to stop friends from booking this hotel this week.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Don't waste your hard earned money
Wait staff were rude (not all, but about 85%) like we were bothering them. Buffett was the same every day with flies all over the food, heard a lot of people were getting sick from this. Beach was nice and pool, but not a 5 star at all!!

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Great Resort!
We stayed at Royalton CHIC Cancun over the New Year’s holiday and had an overall very positive experience. The hotel was kept extremely clean, and the entire property had a signature essential oil scent. While it was pleasant in some areas, it could be a bit overpowering in others.
The beach was a standout — pristine, well-maintained, and one of the cleanest resort beaches we’ve experienced. The pool and beach servers were excellent and very attentive; we received great service every single d[... read more]ay, which really elevated our stay.
Elevators were unfortunately a bit of a pain. One elevator was down for our entire stay, which led to longer wait times, especially during busy hours. Room service was quick and convenient, though the night menu could use a bit more variety.
We had a great time ringing in the New Year at the rooftop event (additional cost), which was fun and well-organized. While many reviews describe this as a party resort, we felt the daytime pool atmosphere could have benefited from better music to match that reputation.
The à la carte restaurants were decent but nothing particularly memorable. That said, we really appreciated how accommodating they were in seating our group of six, which isn’t always easy during a busy holiday week.
Overall, Royalton CHIC Cancun is a clean, lively resort in a fantastic location with excellent beach and pool service. With a few improvements, it could easily be a 5-star experience, but we would still recommend it for a fun New Year’s getaway.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Family vacation
I found the resort itself clean, I wasnt impressed on the service. Seemed like all the workers we tired (over worked) and not very happy. Service was very slow everywhere. Food was alright but nothing spectacular. Not good for the beach but the pools were good.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Stunning location
This resort is nestled away in its own little cove, making it the perfect getaway. Hotel was clean and staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, varied and plentiful. Beach was amazing. I didn’t know such a beautiful beach actually existed! At the end of the beach is an old fortress you can climb for spectacular views. Lots of activities on site. Can’t say enough about this wonderful resort!

Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: Good only if you get it on sale
A Beautiful Escape with One Notable Drawback
The gardens at this hotel are absolutely stunning lush, well-maintained, and perfect for peaceful morning walks or quiet afternoons surrounded by nature. It truly feels like a retreat.
The beach is gorgeous and remarkably clean. There are a few rocky spots, but they're easy to avoid if you know where to swim, and they actually make for excellent snorkeling.
The staff deserve special mention. Every single person we encountered was friendly, wa[... read more]rm, and genuinely welcoming. Their constant smiles and helpful attitude made us feel right at home.
My only real complaint is the food. For the price point of this hotel, I expected more. The variety was limited, popular items ran out quickly unless you arrived early, and some dishes were simply unavailable. It didn't quite match the quality of everything else.
Overall, this is a wonderful hotel with beautiful grounds and exceptional service. Just set your expectations for the dining experience, or plan to eat out occasionally although the island is particularly expensive.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Nice trip
All of the staff at the hotel were great people. With all guest staying in the one building and there being only two elevators. It was a bit of an issue with one being out of order for a couple of days.
Also, I noticed when it rained no one was getting the water off of the covered walkways they were just mopped which only made it slippery.
The rooms were clean but a bit older and junior suite a bit different than any I have had before. (Smaller, only a small love seat and table in the room [... read more]with the bed and desk)

Mystique Habana by Royalton: Mystique Habana by Royalton
This hotel is very centrally situated in Havana within walking distance to the park and the famous Floridita pub. The rooms are spacious with high ceiling and old Spanish era balconies. Like most of the buildings around, the architecture is reminiscent of bygone era. However, renovations are being done all over. The hotel itself is renovated with all basic amenities very well catered. Food was good and the staff was very polite and supportive, with maitre d'dining-room, Ms. Aiyna ever present t[... read more]o help with ones choice as far as practicable. We had a pleasurable stay.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely resort!
We very much enjoyed Royalton Cayo Santa Maria. It was our first time at this resort and we would return.
As far as a Cuban resort goes, this is the best we have stayed at in Cuba, we've been to several others in Veradero, Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Coco.
The pros:
Beach is spectacular
Service is fantastic, lovely people. Butlers are waiting for you and happy to assist.
Food was above average for Cuban resorts, they have condiments, salt and use some garlic marinade at the beach th[... read more]at guests raved about. We always bring chips and snacks for the room, it makes all the difference.
Rooms were quiet and AC worked well.
We were on bottom floor building 10, totally fine, no bugs in the room. Would choose this location again, found it convenient.
Resort wasn't at capacity, so getting beach and pool chairs never an issues.
The resort is for people that want quiet, no loud thumping party music, music by the pool at reasonable level, music on the beach, for a few hours, not all day, and lots of 80s music when we were there. Seems they cater to their crowd, which is an older clientelle.
They accept CAD happily.
The cons:
Smokers, they can't at home, so they do here and they have no regard for others in their vicinity. Lots of butts left in the sand on the beach too, just ignorant travellers.
The travel time to get to the resort is about 1 hour 45 mins. It's a long bus ride. Take is as a tour and listen to the tour operator and it becomes quite a bit more interesting. We asked about a cab ride, it was $100 CAD or $80 USD, same amount of time, but they would get you out of the airport faster than the bus waiting for stragglers.
There are no-see-ems, or sand flees or something, not mosquitos. I didn't see or feel bites, but I came home with a lot. Husband has none, so they have a blood type preference.
We travelled for a quick weekend getaway, it was what we needed. We travel quite a bit, wouldn't stay in Cuba for a week, but for 3-4 days, it's a great refresher on a top beach in the world, doesn't get much better than that.
I will comment on Diamond Club as we typically book this level if we can at other resorts. We didn't miss it here. The Diamond Club people used the regular side of the beach more than their dedicated section. Service seemed great with out it. We weren't there to drink, so didn't care whether we had top shelf liquor. No lines at check in to need any priority service. We liked our room location, but if a top floor is a preference, you may have a better shot at it with Diamond Club. Certainly they reserve those for returning guests. I did all the things to get a top floor and they said they were full, even though they weren't, so they do protect those rooms, which is good in a way.
If you are planning a trip to Cuba, make sure you are able to accept the challenges their country faces, with a little understanding, you will appreciate what they are offering and have a great time.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Deeply Disappointing From Start to Finish
Our stay at this hotel was, without question, one of the most frustrating travel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was shockingly poor. Check-in took over two hours, and throughout that entire ordeal the staff showed no urgency, no friendliness, and offered no apology for the delay.
Because check-in dragged on so long, we missed the buffet entirely on our first day. Any traveler—especially those dealing with long flights, airports, buses, and hungry [... read more]children—knows that access to a real meal is essential. Instead, we were redirected to a small café serving hot dogs and hamburgers. The grill area appeared poorly maintained, and the food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out far too long.
We paid thousands of dollars to upgrade to the Diamond Club, hoping the higher tier would offer better service, care, and overall experience. Unfortunately, it was a complete waste. Nothing improved—in fact, things somehow felt worse.
At the Diamond Club, we interacted with a staff member named Carlos, whose attitude was dismissive, unhelpful, and lacking in basic empathy. For a service tier that is supposed to provide elevated hospitality, this was incredibly disappointing.
The wristbands used for room access were also poorly designed. Three of them fell off or were lost in the first day alone, resulting in a $450 fee—an unreasonable charge for something that clearly isn’t secure or durable.
Our assigned butler, Miguel, offered no meaningful assistance. The entire point of the Diamond Club is supposed to be convenience and personalized attention, but we received neither. He even gave us incorrect information about restaurant availability—telling us a restaurant was closed only for us to walk by later and see it open and filled with guests.
To make matters worse, our daughter cut her foot on a poorly maintained bunk bed, and not a single staff member showed care, concern, or initiative to address the issue. No assistance, no apology, and no attempt to fix the hazard.
The “premium alcohol” included with Diamond Club status was another disappointment. Not only did we have to specifically ask for it every time, but we were often refused or told it was only available in certain areas. Even small, simple requests—like breaking a $5 bill—were met with indifference or refusal.
Overall, nothing about this stay reflected quality, hospitality, or value for the money spent. The Diamond Club upgrade was especially regrettable. Between the poor service, misleading information, lack of care, and countless inconveniences, I can confidently say:
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I checked out on November 29th and still have not received my deposit refund as of December 8th, which is very disappointing.
Room service was frustrating orders were often incorrect or missing items. Drinks, food, or even simple items like lemons and limes were sometimes out of stock and not replenished promptly, sometimes not even the same day. In-room towels were also an issue; when requested, they often did not arrive the same day.
The bar had very limited liquor choices, and the enter[... read more]tainment was consistently disappointing. Most of the time, it was unclear what was happening, and the weekly entertainment schedule was not updated on the app.
On the positive side, the restaurant service staff were nice and friendly, and the food itself was good. However, the buffet was poor, and at times the food was cold at the buffet.
Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, especially given the delays with the deposit refund and recurring service issues.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Disappointing Experience at a 5-star. Not what we expected
Royalton Chic Antigua may be marketed as a 5-star resort, but it barely qualifies as a 3-star experience. They promise much more than they deliver.
While the beaches are

From service to food to the management of the resort, it simply doesn't meet 5-star standards, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to friends or family. I'm also disappointed in Trip Central for suggesting this resort, especially given t[... read more]he price we paid.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Good at best
Spent a week in November 2025. Not the greatest hotel! It lacked quality of food and service was not great. Bartenders couldn’t make a consistent drink taste the same. The grounds are clean and rooms clean. The pool was alright, obtaining a chair is difficult as you can get an unlimited amount of towels so everyone just places the towel and leaves for the day to reserve them. Service around pools was poor and require frequent tipping for returning.
All night room service is great but what is t[... read more]he point with very limited poor food options and taste. Al a cartes difficult too book on the app. We had a swim up non diamond club and it was the best part of our stay.
Absolute worse part is you can only use their taxi services to go anywhere. You cannot use transit or Uber as they are not allowed on resort. It’s a very very far walk to the main gate if you wish to go to Cancun or the mall etc. their price was $130usd return for a 20 min ride there.
They should have daily shuttle service complimentary or even for affordable cost at very minimum to the gate.
The rooms have a weird capacity to amplify hallway noise and room service carts run all night if your a light sleeper good luck!
The beach was ok as was the water. The lazy river is by far the coldest water ever, and you need to bring your own tubes they have like 5 in total. The cost on site for a tube is $50usd overall not a pleasant stay.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Do not be fooled by the name, this is not close to a 5 Star teaort
Where do you start, after traveling all day and then waiting at the airport for over 1 hr for Nexus to take us to our hotel, once we finally got there, we checked in and was told that the 2nd part of the check in was to meet a rep with a pink Royalton shirt on, it ended up being a Salerep from Royalton trying to up-sale us, finally I said, we are tired and just want to go to our room.
Once in our room, we were surprised how worn it was, we had the Sunset view which is a parking lot and a torn [... read more]building to look at. I leaned on the balcony rail to only find out that it was not safe. When I checked to see why, I noticed it was not screwed in at all to the wall .
Elevators are very slow, so leave plenty of time to get somewhere .
Ok, I went to use the internet only to find out that they spelled my name wrong so I could not get into the Wi-Fi unless I used the wrong spelling, after numerous visit to the check in, they told me I would have to see their IT dept, long story short, after 4 days of our holidays, they finally change it.
Now, there is really only one main pool and by 10am the 20 and 30 year olds are at the swim up bar, and not leaving for most of the day, so we found the water was spelling by mid afternoon.
We did go on the top floor for a look, but just witness more partying and 70’s disco music blaring.
Ok, on the plus side, the Beach is amazing, the staff works hard, but they seem to be short staffed , the food was reasonable, but not great for a 5 Star rating.
You have to download the app in order to reserve you dinner and I suggest first thing in the morning to make your reservation , also, you cannot book more then 2 reservations, also the menu is a QR Code that you have to put on your phone, so if you are not good with modern technology, you might get frustrated.
Room service is not everyday and they do not automatically put refreshments in your fridge or leave you coffee, you have to phone down for them to bring it up separately .
Conclusion, if you are younger and looking for a all day party 7 days in a row with good weather and an amazing beach, The Royalton Chic Cancún will meed your needs,
But if you are looking for a slower pace and maybe over 50, this might not be what you are looking for.
We would rate this Hotel a 3.5 and that’s also after talking to other couples who where in the Diamond club and those that where not, no one give the hotel a 5 Star and we all agreed on 3.5.
