This resort is a paragon for all inclusive resorts. It perfectly balances fun, relaxation, and entertainment. I came here with my wife for our honeymoon for a week and it wasn't long enough! Will definitely be coming back.

Customer service was lacking
We went for mid November 2021. I was there last year and didn’t have too many problems. However we did notice last year that the customer service was not very good. This year it was downright ridiculous. I came down with seven people from Ontario Canada. One of the women we were with ended up getting her period in the middle of the night while she was sleeping. They tried to clean it up as best as they could but was unsuccessful. This couple couldn’t really afford this vacation and I had to [... read more]help them out with it. So they didn’t bring much money with them. Just enough for their Covid test to come back to Canada. The hotel decided that they were going to charge us $80 USD. They claimed that it was because it was the same kind of stain as if you Peed or Pooped or threw up. These are things you do in the toilet. I told him that this is ridiculous because having a period is not something we can control and we do not sit on the toilet for seven days. I would consider this under the cost of doing business. I am extremely upset with the outcome. When we tried to fight it they told us they were going to call the police if we didn’t pay it. The couple who this happened to didn’t have the money and I had to cover it.
We had a swim up room which was pretty fun. And I was going to plan my wedding there. I am no longer going to do that.
Also that same couple had water leaking out of a light fixture and when they called to have someone come and fix it they had to wait over six hours. I again had to step in and demand somebody come. When they did, they made my friends switch rooms.

This hotel is very clean. Restaurants one open other closed no communication. Front desk be prepared to wait 45 minutes on a good day. Our Sunwing rep. was the best person to talk to and get issues resolved Thank you Jesus your the best. No entertainment prices should be cheaper. Covid testing big money grab.

Great resort!
This resort was really nice, modern, and clean! The rooms were beautiful, the food was always really great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We really loved swimming in the ocean, even though it was a bit of a rocky area we still enjoyed it. The pools were a bit cold for our liking but still nice, and the entertainment at El Beso was always fun. The major downfall of our trip was that we had paid to stay in the Eden Building when we booked through Trip Central, but when we got to our reso[... read more]rt, they told us we were booked in the Daisy Building. We had to spend the whole week listening to screaming and crying kids in the morning... Even though my boyfriend and I don't have kids and did not want to stay in the Daisy Building. We still had a nice stay but we tried to avoid spending as little time in our room as possible to avoid the kiddy pool and building. If you don't like being around kids, definitely don't book the Daisy Building.

Great Resort
Beautiful grounds. Excellent staff.
Only drawback was the aggressiveness of the H10 Timeshare people, first minute we arrived, cost us 3 unnecessary hours...:(
Nicholas the bartender at the main lobby bar-great.
Irene-waitress at same bar-excellent.

Nice Resort, Terrible Food!
Hotel facilities, grounds, pools are nice, but the food is the worst I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort. Both my young children, myself and a few others in our group all got food poisoning. It was extremely difficult to find something even appetizing enough to eat. The Mexican restaurant was so bad. I don’t get why the Mexican food is the worst. It should be the one thing that tastes good. Even the scrambled eggs were gross. How do you screw up scrambled eggs???

Good Resort, lots to do , February is a great time to go
Grounds were well kept. Food at the Buffet was plentiful, great variety, always hot. We went to the Steak Restaurant, food was cold, steak was tough, the Italian Restaurant, not dishes we would eat more like a sampling than a dinner, however Route66, the Japanese Restaurant and the Buffet were fantastic. Nighttime shows were good. Lots to eat and drink. A couple of things that could be improved, a notice advising which Restaurants were closed on which nights and smaller forks at all the t[... read more]ables, one fork was normal the other was huge. Staff was always friendly. I would recommend this resort to others but let them know which restaurants to eat in. Coffee and Ice Cream Shops were a daily visit

A resort for everyone!!
Overall a very good resort. Activities for all ages and good entertainment. Very busy as this resort is typically booked out so be patient with A La carte wait times.Always buffet if you don't want to wait.
Be sure to read your room directory as there are charges you may not be used to. i.e. only 2 beer per day in mini fridge. pay extra for more restocking. Late check out is $10 USD per hour however some people were not charged.
We paid $2 USD per day environmental tax. Seemed a little more t[... read more]han the 25 pesos per day regulated by the government.
There were some theft issues around the pool.( cell phone, sun glasses). Watch your stuff.
Other charges: calls from room, room service after 11pm etc.
Overall a great resort. Just learn what the extras cost.

Great Vacation
We enjoyed every aspect of the resort. Beautiful grounds, very well kept up and clean. The Privilege package was all we expected and some more. Fast and pleasant check in and check out. We loved our room, spacious, clean, well equipped with all that we needed (including jets tub outside and another one in the bathroom). Bed was very comfortable. Privilege building is very close to the beach and having a designated beach area was great. Privilege restaurant was amazing. Service and food were both[... read more] up to par.
There are some rocks in the water so water shoes are very useful. A la carte restaurants were very good. Not the greatest experience at the Japanese restaurant for us but Blue Moon and Steak House were great. We think that Privilege restaurant was the best of all but we did not go to La Locanda and the Mexican restaurant so we cannot review those two.The evening shows were good but the day entertainment wasn't as good as we thought will going to be.
All in all a very good vacation.
Let me start with the good. The resort is beautiful, spacious and very well maintained. our whole group overall enjoyed the week we spent there. This was mostly because of two reasons, one the company we had, our groups are from different cities and it was kind of a reunion of old friends. second reason was the waiting staff both at all the restaurants and bars. The beach was complete seaweed free for 3 out of 7 days but that's up to mother nature.
Now the not so good. The front desk and the [... read more]guest services staff were not very accommodating. I really wish they would be more focused on customer service. I dealt with 4-5 different people throughout the week and everyone had the same approach of passing the blame and not getting anything done.
First issue was that we asked for adjoining rooms by calling a week before and a day before our arrival. we were assured both times that the request was placed in our reservation. when we checked in, the rooms were far apart even though the room next to our was empty for the first 3 days
Second issue we had was that our room didn't have the balcony Swing that EVERY other room in the building had. we literally had the only room without the swing. i know this because i went around the outside of the building checking every balcony. My kids obviously had issues with that since the other room (with 2 more kids) in our group did have the swing. we notified the front desk within the first hour of our check-in and were told that it would be look at right away. we also asked if we could be moved to the room next to us (which was empty) but were told that it was booked for another arriving party. That party did not arrive till day 4 of our stay.
Followed up on that on Day 2,3,4,5,6 and everyday I was told that they have notified maintenance staff and they would come and bring the swing that was supposed to be there. each day I was also told that there are no rooms available in our building as they are at 100% capacity. Even through the room cleaning staff told us that there are plenty of rooms empty just on our floor.
Third issue was with the refrigerator, It never kept the drinks cold. I requested the guest services and front desk to either replace it or come fix the one that was there but nothing was done. we have a 3 month old that needs breast milk which when pumped needs to be kept in the fridge. we ended up using the ice bucket all week with constant refills from the ice machine on the 1st floor to preserve the milk.
So in summary, I would say that IF you happen to get everything working in your room and not have to deal with the front desk or guest services staff then you will have a great stay otherwise, pay more and upgrade on the spot to receive better treatment.
Our room number was 2232. I hope that fixed it but i would try and avoid it.

Exceeded expectations
I don't really have anything bad to say about this place. It was clean, great atmosphere, great food. Beach was nice, could use some more chairs though. I read mixed reviews before coming and honestly didn't know what to expect, but I would return.
Great for families and couples, maybe not the best for singles.

Perfect Resort!!!
This resort was perfect from the time we checked in to the moment we left! The staff are beyond friendly and always willing to help with anything. They work so hard! The rooms are incredibly clean an so spacious. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are very comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing and the A La Carte restaurants were so delicious and the food choices were incredible. No matter where you pick to eat or whether it’s breakfast lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointe[... read more]d in the selection and quality. Nightlife is so incredible for all ages! There is always something going on for everyone, from little kiddies to older mature couples like my husband and I.
If I could recommend one place to eat it’s the Japanese! Even if you don’t like sushi, you need to try this sushi! Absolutely YUMMY!
I wish I could name all of the staff by names, I should have written them down! But one person in particular is Jose! He was our waiter in the privilege lounge. He was FABULOUS and very attentive and friendly!
Over all we LOVED THIS PERFECT RESORT!

Great Vacation
Resort was great! There are monkey's roaming around which is cool. The rooms were very good, modern, spacious. There are 5 pools - party pools, quiet pool, kids pool etc. Something for everyone. Liked the layout, very easy to get around the resort. Beach area was crowded so get up early if you want a chair by the beach area. Japanese restaurant was awesome!!!! Nightly entertainment was good, overall had nothing to complain about. We did do the upgrade to privilege and probably would not do that [... read more]again in terms of what we actually used out of it. There was also mixed messages about what you get - one guy said discounts on outings, other said no. Supposed to get top shelf liquor but asked one guy for grey goose and he said you would have to pay for that??? Would probably do a swim up vs whirlpool on balcony as you have to fill them and the water pressure is slow, we only used it once so was not really worth it but still cool. We also had one in the room so it wasn't really necessary to have one outside. Food was good, but make sure to go earlier than when you want to eat as sometimes it takes up to an hour for a table, especially for a larger group. Although we went to one at 7 and got right in, so depends on the night, Italian seemed to be very popular, always a line up. Buffet was good, had no issues finding anything to eat. Overall - really loved it, would go back!

Great Resort. Would definitely recommend!
Loved this resort! Let's start with our room. We are a family of 5 so definitely need lots of space. Two queens and a pull-out couch was plenty with ample room to move. We stayed in a privilege suite facing the back of the hotel. Great view of the jungle from the Jacuzzi tub on the balcony! The bathroom sinks were leaking underneath but we made the call and they had it fixed when we returned to dinner that night. Overall, enjoyed the room.
The resort was a nice size. Not too bad and not too s[... read more]mall. Five different pools to choose from. Daisy pool for the kids, adults only pool, privilege pool for a quiet hang, beach pool and the Eden pool for lots of activities and fun. Lots of variety! We all loved the breakfast and lunch buffet but a little disappointed with dinner buffet the two times we went. A la cartes were great...especially the Italian restaurant. There is always some sort of entertainment/ activity in the evenings. We loved Mexican night on Sunday and the bowling alley was awesome. No complaints about the staff. Everyone was great!
The only a la carte that needed a reservation was the Japanese restaurant. We liked not being tied to a dinner time every time we wanted a la carte. Made for a lot more flexibility. Our only complaint was the way they make the reservations for the Japanese restaurant. They can only be made the day you want to go, first thing in the morning with an hours window.
Beach was nice. There are definitely rocks, as we're in the Mayan, but not a lot. Water was nice and not a lot of seaweed.

Good bang for your buck
Booking the rooftop room at the privilege section was worth the money. The restaurants had a good variety. The Mexican was our favourite and the least favourite the steakhouse.
Great addition was the coffee shop and ice cream shop. The lobby and lobby bar were not so inviting because the ceiling is so high and the noise goes around. Great that there are 5 big pools including a nice kids water park. The beach is nice. There was no seaweed but I advise to bring water shoes because if the big roc[... read more]ks in the water. Great waiter service at the beach.
Downside are the people that try to get you in the H10 membership.
To be a member for 25 year the want you to pay almost $40,000 Canadian. Payable in 5 years with a down payment of 35% at 13% or 50% down at 8%.
Than you gave a free stay for one, two or three weeks a year but you “only†need to pay for the all inclusive and service. That will be between $40 and $199 per person per day. Mid January which is low season the day price was $140. When you go for two weeks as a couple you pay $3920. Add on your flights and transfers and when you do the 35% at 13% interest is $565 per month is $6780 for the first 5 years.
Conclusion: your vacation will cost you at least over 10K for the first 5 years. Don’t get fooled.
