Sandos Cancun: Would not stay again

This hotel should not be rated a 5 star resort.Check in wasn’t great as no one gave us a run down of the locations of everything. Staff seemed annoyed to have to book our dinners for the week. The room was run down and the resort seemed understaffed. Not really any activities during the day.

Sandos Cancun: Might go back

There were many good things and some not so great things. Would consider going back if the price was right. Would consider paying more if some deficiencies were fixed. We travelled as a couple and enjoyed most meals but not all. Gym has many broken pieces.

Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos: Beautiful Views

The Positives: Views, friendly staff, great pool area, close to Marina area The Concerns: Musty smelling room- tired decor; food was barely passable, no drink menus at the bars, No swimming allowed on beach but I knew this when I booked

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Was expecting more

Our first room was filthy, i think it was a spare room. The tv, and the telephone didn't work so we had to walk to the front desk multiple times a days to see if it was getting fixed. The second night the AC completely quit so they said we had to move to another room. This room was also filthy. The drink bars and the smoothie bar only had 1 person working so expect to wait 30 mins or more to get a drink. The buffet was always busy so we stood in line to get a table for up to 45 mins each day. On [... read more]e morning we missed breakfast so I asked to get an apple for my 2 year old and they said no you have to wait until lunch. This place is huge expect to do around 20k steps. We won't be coming back to this resort. I will say that my 8 year old loved the waterslides though.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Sandos Plata de Carmen

We certainly enjoyed our stay. Everything is close by and the staff seem happy, hard working and organized. The food was amazing. Beautiful sand beach and within walking distance to Plata de Carmen. The rooms seem older so need updating, especially the bathrooms. The nightly shows were alright, but could be improved. Overall Mexico has gotten expensive for shopping and excursions. The airport is ridiculous for food and bottled water ( $10 US ) as it does not have stations to fill water bott [... read more]les like most airports. There is no snorkeling at this resort.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Nice Resort...But not a 4 1/2 star...

Food was amazingly good and tasty and and staff was helpful and friendly Grounds were clean and shows were good entertainment Hotel needs upgrading to get it back to 4 star rating....it is probably a solid 3 stars as it now stands...probably a hang-over from the Pandemic closures

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Very large property

This resort has lots of plants and animals. There is a small Mayan ruins a couple of cenote pools and a zoo. The water park will be loved by all. Several quieter pools available when the large pool gets to be too much. Ala Carte restaurants are booked on the resort website. The steak and seafood was our favourite.

Sandos Cancun: Worst resort I’ve ever stayed at

1. Room smelt like feces. Like it was so disgusting they didn’t even want to switch our rooms until we made them come smell it themselves. 2. One bed when we asked for 2 3. No food after hours. They advertise 24/7 room service. This is a lie they will not answer your calls. 4. Alejandro is the most rude front desk staff of all time. If you see him just immediately ask for someone else unless you want to be disrespected and treated like shit. Guy clearly hates his job and his life. 5. On [... read more]e girl had her own room and she got electrocuted. They didn’t care. They didn’t even at the least apologize. 6. There’s a minimum number of cabanas at the pool but the pool boys that work there put books or shoes on the beds to claim it and the guest have to bribe them with $20 USD to get a bed. Which is free they’re just assholes and money hungry. We caught on to their game and they didn’t like that. 7. Shower knob fell off 8. Wall is leaking 9. Bathroom is moldy in one of our 3 room 10. Staff came into our room while we’re half naked with the do not disturb sign on. Didn’t apologize. Not sure why they’re coming in when it shows we’re sleeping 11. Staff came into one room and took the towels off the rack and threw them on the floor… again do not disturb was on 12. Refuse to answer our calls 13. Bar tenders were super rude 14. They only help locals 15. 24 hour food service and 0 food service 16. Never give us water when we ask. Every 2 days we got some water if lucky 17. Power went out in one room 18. Expired mango juice from March…. 19. Air conditioning wasn’t properly working and was also leaking 20. Came home and all my stuff was moist from the air in the room

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great Resort

It started out not great because our room was not ready until 4.00pm (check-in was supposed to be at 3.00pm). The first room shown to us was on the main floor which we didn't want. In the 2nd room the WIFI didn't work. In the 3rd room where we finally stayed, the fridge wasn't working at all. Later, we found fruit flies in the room; the hair dryer didn't work at all, and the water pressure in the shower was very low. When all this was brought to the attention of Customer Service, they were quick [... read more]ly taken care of to our satisfaction. They compensated us (through the curtesy of the Chief Concierge, Luis Enrique) with 2 special dinners and a Spa Massage and Hydro Therapy. At the restaurants, even the resort restaurant manager (Humberto), assistant manager (Javier) always came up to greet us very warmly.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Amazing Beach! Disappointed in the Service :(

We have stayed at the Sando Caracol previously and decided to try the Playacar! Hands down the beach here is so much better than the Caracol but we preferred the set up and service at the Caracol. We purchase the Select Club Adult only each time. The Playacar does not have the same service (bartenders did not have any drink consistency or service), bar is not situated well for access, our room was only cleaned twice in a week and if you had a black wrist band (Elite Club), the staff catered t [... read more]o you and ignored the gold Select Club. The Italian, French and Mexican A La Cartes were great! El Gaucho the Steak house, not so much as the steak was not cooked to specifications for either of us and you had a buffet salad bar and dessert bar. Morning buffet for Select Club had a great service! The Select Club and Elite section needed better signage as it was a direct path from the middle lobby and everyone walked through (families and children) when the main pool was off another branch of the path. The rooms were ok, they could do with some updates to the furniture but overall bed was comfortable and great storage. Our fridge didn't work when we arrived but our concierge Maria (over a 2 day period) was able to get it replaced. The beach and ocean were great for 4 days of our stay, the staff cleaned the weeds all day off the beach! The Wi-Fi was amazing outdoors but not in the rooms so it was sitting on the balcony if you wanted to connect. All in all, great weather and relaxing time but disappointed in service!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Poor/Unfriendly Service

We unfortunately did not have the greatest time at this resort. Many people shared the same experiences. Dirty room, poor service from staff. Food was decent but not great. Buffet meat was consistently way overcooked. The waterpark needs some repairs. My son bumped his head and back due to uneven slides. He was also attacked by one of the wild life and scratched on his hand by the pool. The animal jumped onto our chair and grabbed food from him. The staff called my wife a drunk when she a [... read more]sked for her first drink from the bar. Most of the bar staff seem unpleasant and the same goes for wait staff. They seem to want to stand around and chat amongst each other rather than help the guests. Bars rarely opened on time and we're not staffed properly by the pools. So much went wrong at the beginning of our trip that 4 of the 9 days felt like a write off. The managers did end of upgrading our room for our troubles and provided excellent service. I would recommend speaking to managers if you have issues not the front staff. Was never able to get in touch with reception or anyone by phone including room service. No one ever picked up the phone. I had to go to the front desk each time I needed something or had a question. This resulted in wasted time. However they were able to call us to try and book us for a time share presentation. Overall trip ended up being not what we had hoped for even with our expectations set lower than normal.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing Resort

Staff were Great. Friendly and making sure all was fine The food was great and many choices at the Buffet and the restaurants the carts at the resort had enough to choose from, eating, deserts, gifts their is plenty of places to sit and relax and have a drink. Many many places to explore and see wild life

Sandos Cancun: A very convenient resort

The spectacular, seaweed-free, beach with ample shade was great! The diligent staff offered free umbrellas to all patrons and did not expect a tip although I always gave one. Beverage waiters also offered free drinks with no expectation of tip or reluctance to serve non tippers! 3 pools were enjoyed by the younger crowd whose average age was about 40. View from our 6th floor room was ok - balcony was tiny. Stephano (concierge) was our favourite go to guy! Excellent English and very helpful booking restaurants and showing our group of 4 around. A very valuable staff member! The weakest part of Sandos was the food! It was more like Cuba with a 3-4 star rating. This was the only weakness of an otherwise very enjoyable small resort.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

Hotel was clean, restaurants had good selection of food, service was wonderful. The grounds was well maintained We had a great 7 days. The beach was clean and the ocean was wonderful when the waves was not very strong.

For the size it offered good choices of restaurant and the entertainment team was exceptional . Mario at the pool bar and Gisele who look after the exercise, volleyball and games where particularly great

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: It has gone downhill since 2019

This was our second time there. The rooms need some upkeep. The AC in our room needed repairing twice, and the safe locked us out twice. The food at the buffets was repetitive. It was very chaotic to book reservations for the a la carte restaurants as they expected you to use the app, but had a kiosk with a person booking at the same time so you would book and then get cancelled. The beach is only rocks. However, the staff are wonderful, the entertainment fabulous, the activities varied and so m [... read more]any. The waterpark was a hit for the grandkids as was the kids club. Swimming in the cenote was refreshing. The rooms are clean and so are the pools.

Sandos Cancun: Not a 5 star resort

This hotel is not up to par the food is terrible at buffet or the restaurants. Had to upgrade to a suite as regularly rooms are wet and smell awful. It costs an extra $200. The pictures of this hotel is deceiving.Spend your money at another hotel

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Tropical paradise

The resort grounds are lush with tropical plants. The beach is beautiful blues and turquoise. They could have had more staff present at the bars and buffets as there were lines at the pool bars and not enough staff at the buffet. There was little to no beach service even though it is advertised as such. The entertainment was good. The sports bar at night should have been adults only yet they allowed children in which was not appropriate. The room was adequate with comfortable beds and pillows. Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great Resort!

We stayed for 9 days, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The concierge Viviana booked all the restaurants for us, and they were all excellent. The steakhouse was OK, they did not cook the steak very well. Buffet had a good selection, and the staff were prompt and friendly. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach, but the grounds are exceptional. Lots of green landscape, flowers and trees on your walk, plenty of shade. Playacar is in a secure location, security at all the gates to enter this neighbourhood. Several resorts within Playacar. We used the bikes one day, which are free, and biked to "5th Avenue", shopping district, which is just steps away from the Playacar gate. Entertainment was very well done as well, appropriate for children and adults. I would rate this resort a 10 overall.
