Riu Dunamar: Beautiful resort

The hotel is clean. People are friendly and hard working. Pool and beach were great. The bartenders knew all the drinks wd had requested and made them to our liking. The food was very yummy. Loved everything about it. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Riu Palace Aruba: Very Special Resort

We are very impressed with the outstanding layout of the Rui Palace,the buildings the grounds,trees,,plants,big revolving doors the Greeting Staff was simply a marvellous start to a great vacation. Throughout our stay the restaurant staff, night entertainment, tours was indeed better than expected. Our vacation was indeed a time on earth spent as if was in Heaven. I give five thumbs up to the Pool , towels , and Beach services.

Riu Palace Antillas: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful resort and beach. This is the second time we’ve been to this resort and we would go back. Service and the staff were excellent. Rooms recently renovated and food is incredible. Nobody wore masks and no hand sanitizer available anywhere on resort but we didn’t feel uncomfortable. A new resort is being built next door so there is construction noise while you are on the beach but it’s not all day long and wasn’t too annoying.

Riu Palace Bavaro: Amazing resort. Third visit in 5 yeara

Everything great except the main courses in the buffet. Extremely salty compared to previous visits. There was constant confusion whether or not a la carte restaurants were open or closed. For example the restaurant staff said that the Taino Steakhouse would be open Wednesday and Thursday but they were closed. The local Sunwing rep was so so. We had to figure out things ourselves

Riu Flamingos: amazing resort

There was 5 different restaurants to eat from and they all were amazing. Everyone there, especially the workers, were all very polite and helpful. Resort was beautiful overall and kept much more clean than i had expected. Would definitely recommend to families and older couples but not sure about younger crowds who like to party as the night life is not great. Definitely more family oriented. Overall would definitely go again if traveling with family or kids.

Riu Republica: Avoid at all cost

We all came back sick and saw many ppl getting food poisoning. This resort is definitely not a 5 star. More like a 3 star. Rooms stink so bad and beds are so filthy Never again. Total waste of money .

Riu Guanacaste: Average Resort

Other than the pool, this hotel was a disappointing experience. Service could be better, both at the reception and at the bars. The so called 24 hour bar, never had any stocked food, always empty. I always had to ask to stock the fridge and for toilet paper. Best to spend a bit more money and stay at the Riu Palace. Not worth the money.

Riu Palace Antillas: A lovely holiday.

We stayed a week on the non-construction side on the 13th floor. Pros: our Sunwing flights were good and without delay, friendly staff throughout, hot sunny weather, well kept grounds, beautiful sandy beach, easy walk to shops, nice to have the option of bars, buffet restaurant and pool at sister resort next door, good selection of food in restaurants and buffet, great housekeeping and coffee shop, renovated room with spacious balcony with ocean view, good activities staff. Cons: constructio [... read more]n next door was very loud six days a week (loud pool music couldn’t muffle it), difficult to get a palapa during prime time (we arrived very early or late afternoon), NO Covid protocols (NO hand sanitizer at buffet or near elevators- gross). Wouldn’t return unless price fell significantly. Overall a 7/10.

The Pros:The resort was beautiful and well maintained and kept very clean. We requested a room with 2 Beds and on opposite side from Construction and they did accommodate our request. The service by wait staff, bar tenders etc was excellent and everyone is friendly and happy. Our room was kept impeccably clean by the maid staff. We were fortunate that our hotel room Was on the opposite side- the guest staying in the rooms on the construction side overlooking the pool must have been awoken early by the noise. We were disappointed in the lack of attention to covid protocols At the buffet and throughout the Resort. There were NO Bottles Of hand sanitizer anywhere; We asked one of the managers about this One day at the buffet and she said something about not Being able to get it Supplied. There are several spots where tongs are shared so there should have been hand sanitizer everywhere in the buffet dining room, by elevators etc. Saw very few staff wearing masks ; the odd person but it seems there is no covid in Aruba! Bring your own hand sanitizer and just know that there doesn’t seem to be any extra precautions being taken regarding Covid.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Nice Resort

The resort has been renovated to three pools where one pool is full of the usual young drinkers and a fun volleyball pool and one large crowded pool. Summertime is packed and the resort seemed overly crowded. Literally bumping into people trying to get your food. Many choices for food which was nice. However I came down with food poisoning and COVID-19 at this resort. The rooms were not cleaned very well and there was no time in between the previous occupants. Time in- between new guests arriving should still be happening.Cleanings staff left bleach cloth on husbands clothes which discoloured them. Food hygiene needs to be improved too. I saw a raw sushi cart being transported from one of the kitchens to another kitchen in the middle of the day in high heat. These are all ways people can get sick. Raw meat/ seafood should be covered and cooled. Food safety 101. Most of the staff we’re great. Some of the bar staff at the beach bar we’re not overly friendly when we spoke English. Spanish-speaking guests seem to get preference over other guests. But most of staff seemed lovely! Especially front desk Jesus!

Riu Santa Fe: Disappointed

The air conditioner didn't work, they came three times trying to fix. Roof leaked badly when it rained. The response from the front desk was ,it's not going to rain again for 2 days. Poor customer service

Riu Republica: Best part of the trip was the food and staff

Grounds - the grounds were beautiful and very well kept Rooms - the rooms were clean, a little musty day one, but I got used to it after. They were all white so not as interesting as it could be compared to other resorts but no real complaints. Dining - I LOVED the breakfast! I loved it, ten extra pounds later, lol. The food was great the rest of the day too for the most part. Asian and Italian not out favourites, Indian and Steakhouse were our favourites. The level of service during our first couple of days was amazing, they paid so much attention so when drinks ran out and plates were empty they were quickly replaced/removed. The last days it wasn’t good, so don’t judge them, service depends on the day I guess. Entertainment - not much in the way of night time entertainment, the Michael Jackson show was fun to watch. We didn’t do the daytime parties Tips: for the first couple of days we got towels no problem. Then it was busier and we didn’t get towels for a couple of days. You have to get towels before bfast to be sure you have one. Covid - wasn’t even a consideration. We come from Canada where about a third of people still where masks all the time. Rarely did people behave in any way with Covid in mind.

Riu Dunamar: Great place

I think they need to make everything all inclusive, we had to pay for the pool in the snack bar. Was very pricey. Seemed it lacked communication since they mixed up our excursion times twice. Great people great place though

Riu Palace Antillas: Amazing Resort

This hotel was amazing in all aspects. The food was great, the rooms were clean and updated, amenities were awesome. The staff were very helpful at all times. Carlos at the front desk was very friendly and we were given a spectacular room on the 18th floor so that we could stay together with our friends. All the staff at the Restaurants and bars were always extremely courteous. The Assistant General Manager was always around speaking with guests to get their feedback and ensuring guests were wel [... read more]l looked after. Food and drinks were always in plenty. The rooms were slso stocked up with all kinds of well known drink brands and even after check out food and drinks were available till we physically left the hotel. Awesome, awesome!!

Riu Playa Blanca: Very beautiful resort

I enjoyed staying at this resort very much, would’ve have love to stay longer. I had a great time and would surely love to visit again. The staff and service were excellent . The food was amazing. Thank you Riu Playa Blanca.

Riu Vallarta: Riu Vallarta great stay

Riu Vallarta is our favorite resort and employees are there always helpful. I would like send thank you especially to Sheff of restaurants - Mr. Roque, Miss Gardenia Ramos - Public Relations and Miss Nayeli - Customer Service. They are great representatives of Riu resort. They not just make our vacation beautiful thank you their help, but also these people make our vacation unforgettable. Entertainment group with David and Ricardo is like always great. Riu Dunamar: Very good Resort

We like the resort but is too far from the airport and the road needed to be fix. The Ocean sunrise was great , just magic, seemed like the sun was coming out of the water, great view. Could n't swim in the ocean due to sea weeds, was too much, very dirty water at the front. The resort had someone cleaning the sea weeds but he left just outside the water, the wave comes take everything back in the ocean. We really enjoyed the sunrise and the morning walk on the sand. One more thing I want to mentioned that, our departure was early in the morning 9;45 but we had to leave the resort 4 hrs early , the no restaurant open at that time, so coffee, no breakfast. they need to open the area at around 6;00 instead 7 a.m. or have one counter open for people leaving early etc. just a suggestion.

Riu Republica: Beautiful resort but sunwing is awful

Housekeeping was trash. bathroom had no ventilation. Our flight got delayed multiple times and they never informed us each time. ended up dumping us at the airport at 1am for 9hrs with no food,water or AC. Food/party staff were amazing tho. Don’t fly with sunwing

My first vacation in 25 years, I was really looking forward to this trip, what a disappointment. The resort staff was not that friendly, the service was poor, the food was mediocre and the overall quality for what we paid was not worth it. Our room was without water for over 16 hours, we were told to use the bathroom down at the beach club if we had to use the facility.......totally unacceptable.... our mini bar was not restocked daily as it should be, we had to continuosly ask for service.  [... read more] The nightly entertainment was very bad, no interaction with the guests , just lame shows. The daytime activities also were lacking quality, more like a 2 star resort. I would never recommend this resort to anyone

Riu Ocho Rios: Riu Ocho Rios

This hotel is top-notch in terms of food, staff hospitality, nightly entertainment, day-time activities and beach facilities. However, room maintenance could be better as we had to call on 2 separate occasions to get our toilet repaired (was not flushing) and the electrical outlets at the bedsides were not working. We therrfore had to charge our phones in the bathroom. We were there over the July 4th weekend when the hotel was booked to capacity. Except for the front-desk staff, no other staff wore masks. There was no requirement for masking or social distancing of guests. The buffets were not adequately protected; the top shields over the food were not low enough to protect the food from contamination by spit from adults. There were no lower shields to protect the food from the children whose mouths and noses were at the same level of the food. These factors may have resulted on the jul 4t weekend being a super spreader.
