Don Lino Hotel: My favorite small resort

Smaller relaxing friendly resort. You can travel alone and always be talking to guests or staff if you want. Very friendly atmosphere. Towns and sites are near by. Feel the real cuba I stay in the bungalows, it feels like you are in a log cabin but with nice tiles on the floors and bathroom but the rooms are clean and nice as well. Always a good variety of food.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Really Nice Resort

The Coral Level at this hotel was great. Beautiful rooms with a soaker tub and separate shower stall. The pool is right at your door. There is butler service so if you need anything they will help. Daily towel swaps for the pool towels and turn down service. The wait staff are around you all day asking if you would like a drink. They bring it to you poolside which is wonderful. The down side of cuba is they run out of food items on the menu so you are eating a lot of the same things which [... read more]ever restaurant you go to. Every night we were booked into a different restaurant they were out of 2-3 thing always. Appetizers, mains and desserts were always “not available”. It didn’t matter where you went. There is no extra service or special restaurant privileges because you are coral level. The main difference is you have your own smaller buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and an afternoon snack menu at the outdoor bar. Otherwise the other restaurants are shared by everyone at the resort. The beach area is also small if you are a beach person. I loved staying at the pool because there you get lounge chairs and a cabana for your use daily.

Playa Pesquero: One of the Best Holguin has to offer

There is a reason this resort has such a high guest return rate, and once on site we saw why. The buildings the grounds and all amenities are well kept. The beach was clean, had ample chairs and shaded areas, hobbie cats and paddle boats to book and take out, along with snorkeling masks. Drink service on the beach, a tiki bar and pizza place beside the bigger snack bar (the food available down there was great). Service was friendly and sincere. Foam party to the side, along with a separate pool for water volleyball and activities. South of the pool area was a strip with shops and restaurants, beer garden (24hr) and ice cream bar. Directly north of the pool area is the buffet and lobby. Well laid out resort, with a little something for everyone. Buildings 28, 29 and 30 were great location for minimal walking to everything, the food and service at the 24 hr snack bar also located just of the southern pool area was nice. Good selection of food and prompt polite service. Really enjoyed the a la cartes, Romantic was our favorite by far, the lobster was some of the best I have had in Cuba, and the house red wines varied but were a decent drink with meals. Clean, upscale and pleasant. We look forward to adding ourselves to the growing list of return guests at this beautiful resort!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing Resort the staff are very attentive

I don't have a bad thing to say the staff amazing the grounds beautiful never felt so pampered anything we asked for they never said no the beach bar awesome friendly staff Hector was amazing so many staff to mention they make your stay beautiful

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Outdated

Got this vacation last minute no time for research. Arrived there reception was overwhelmed stayed in line about an hour. We were told the room was not ready so we waited for about 4 hours. Again stayed in line for another hour only to be told that we have to wait another hour. The grounds, beach and ocean are beautiful, other than that not a very good experience. the only restaurant is too small for the size of the resort (line ups all the time). Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served only betw [... read more]een certain hours. At the 24h snack bar the food is not good to say it nicely so if you didn't get to breakfast, nothing to eat until 12:30pm. Also they were out of potatoes for the entire week. There is only one bar on the beach which was on the opposite side of the resort (a good walk), we stayed in the Luna side. Rooms and bathroom very outdated, the towels smell disgusting..

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful beaches

Our trip was fantastic. We did the Jeep and Dolphin excursion and was awesome. The Cubans are wonderful as always. Not sure if it was the timing of our vacation but not much was opened and that wasn't great. Met some wonderful new friends. Went to a Cubans house for New year's and it was a great experience. No bell boys on duty when we we leaving and that made it difficult to get our luggage from the Villa to the front lobby in complete darkness and I wasn't impressed with that. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good holiday!

Resort is old and dated. Needs a lot of updating with furniture and beds. Servers are excellent and friendly. Food was good but sometimes lacking! Ran out of beer at times! Ran out of bread at times. Ran out of toilet paper in public washrooms at times. Realized our trip was on a time that Cuba's had a holiday as well so we had lots of Cuba families in resort and they would order double the amount of food and then pack half of it away to bring back to their rooms! Playa Pesquero: Playa Pescero Cuba

Unfortunately I have to tell you that we had the worst ending vacation experience on our last day of our trip. We travel at least two to three times of the year and this is the first time that one of our very personal item got lost. My son sweater which was a birthday gift from her sister was disappeared from the room. We reported that to the hotel customer service and they are just telling us to call the police and when we asked for a compensation/money to be able to repurchase the sweater the [... read more]y were telling us we are making a false accusation and if we tell anybody in the resort about the incident they will call the police to remove us from the resort. I told them that I will write a bad review about them and report this to you and trip adviser and any other media so they do something about this. Basically they are telling us we are not responsible for your safety of your items and if something get stolen from you, you have no right to tell anybody except the police. Thank you, Ali

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: All you could dream of

The grounds are kept up implacably. This is one of my favorite resorts because they offer so much. For example the sprawling grounds give you the use of 3 resorts. I love having the ocean front access with the beautiful walk way to the property. Fortunately the room I requested was not available so at no charge my 9 year old niece and I were upgraded to a villa room. I later upgraded a little more to a villa ocean front which offered a spectacular view of the ocean. The room was clean, a [... read more]ir conditioned and had a balcony. Playa Costa Verde: Friendly resort

The rooms are a bit dated. However, they are very clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the water pressure in the shower was strong. We had a ground floor room, but had very few bugs. The cleaning staff kept our room very clean with fresh towels every day and plenty of bottled water. The food was very good and there was always a large selection at the buffet. We enjoyed two a la carte dinners. The Italian restaurant was delicious. The Japanese restaurant was not only delicious but v [... read more]ery entertaining also. I would highly recommend both of these restaurants. I would recommend Playa Costa Verde to friends. Cuba has the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Just Ok!

Grounds: Everything was kept clean and well organized Rooms: Ok. Room was kept cleaned and fridge filled every day. I am not sure if there were bed bugs, but we all had bed bugs bites all over our bodies. Beach: Beautiful beach area with free paddle boats and kayaks. A bit a line up to get one, but we were able to get one every day. Downside: If you went to the beach out early in the morning (6:30 am) or stayed there after 4 pm, you will be bitten by sand fleas. I have been in better resorts of the same category. Not too many selection. Fish was good. Often they run out of fruits.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Good resort

It was fair , food wise , could use better entertainment, more cooks . Line ups was too long , 30 min to get good or more . Otherwise people were friendly food was reasonable . I enjoyed the weather for sure and beach .

Playa Pesquero: Overall--Very nice resort

All in all this is a very nice resort with really nice staff, good food, etc. The only setbacks were: 1-No concept of having customers form a line or "queue" at check in. Frustrating when people arrive in busloads, tired, hungry, don't speak fluent Spanish, etc., etc. only to have others seem to think they can walk right up to the counter for immediate service. What can I say....most humans are ignorant of civilized etiquette and efficiency/orderliness is NOT a strong suit for many, partic [... read more]ularly outside of NA, including PP. 2-Your "reservation required dining" privilege requires some fairly strong discussion about what "all inclusive" means. It means....I paid for this in advance, now is not the time to tell me that your nicer restaurants (not buffet) are "full". On further pressing I received the reservations included with the booking. OF NOTE: NONE, ABSOLUTELY NONE, OF THE "RESERVATION REQUIRED" RESTAURANTS WERE EVEN CLOSE TO "FULL".....HALF FULL AT BEST THROUGHOUT THE EVENING, EVERY EVENING, EVERY DAY. This was consistent for the entire duration of our stay (12/25/19-12/30/19). I speculate that this is a "cost savings measure" as the cost to provide table service vs buffet is quite a bit more......However, that is what I paid for in advance and will never accept any excuse for not receiving what was paid for without reimbursement. 3-Room temp was just barely comfortable. Didn't even dawn on me that the AC wasn't working properly but that may have been the cause. However, these are relatively small issues. The resort, including the food, was very nice--especially by Caribbean standards. Would go again.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful time!

The resort was wonderful. Beach was gorgeous with excellent swimming and snorkeling right there. Everything was clean and the staff were great. Very helpful. Helped us get a few a la carte dinners when all seemed hopeless. Trying to accommodate 9 people can be tricky. All 4 of our rooms were nice and clean. They even made sure that we were all together in the same building. Food was good and again the staff were great. Playa Pesquero: Absolutely great resort!!

The resort itself is incredible,very well kept and clean ,the gardens are big and lush,with alleys that are great for a walk . The rooms are big ,clean and everything is working condition. The resort is like a small beach village, with bars , restaurants,souvenir shops all over ,even an ice cream bar. The a la carte restaurants are also amazing ,especially if you are into seafood. The main buffet is great ,very spacious, with lots of grills and not only. The food...well ,it's Cuba ..th [... read more]e staff is trying hard though to compensate and do the best they can with what's available. One other aspect that can improve at this resort is the entertainment, maybe not the best choices all the time. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Extreme Hospitality

This is our 4th trip to Cuba, and by far the accommodations and food was only surpassed by the warm and friendly staff. The food for Cuba, was extremely good. We had the opportunity to dine at the Royal service resteraunt, if you have the opportunity to pay a bit more, well worth the price.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Friendly staff, great resort

Been in March 2019 and December 2019, both times were great. Beautiful beach, very friendly staff, clean pools, good drinks, clean grounds and room, and nice varieties of food. Diamond club is totally worth it, Jorge is an awesome bartender. Will return!

Playa Pesquero: Amazing beach

Beach was the best !Ocean was calm and clear ,sand white and soft to touch,clean,with some natural shade from the trees and enough huts;even though it was the highest season beach was not too noisy,but to get the lounging chairs you had to come early enough to reserve them! If you wanted to hang out around a beautiful pool, than there were enough chairs available there. Amenities and activities available at all times for free and entertainment were really good. Wait for the fresh grill was too long at the buffet,but if you figure out a plan and are not only there for those (hot plates had good food too),you can manage good food without too much wait. I have been at many Cuban resorts and this one in 4 stars’ category wins for best a la carte restaurants when it comes to quality, presentation and taste of food as well as the authenticity of the theme of the restaurant when it comes to the decor(4 free ones was enough not to have to deal with the buffet wait ,too!) Set up of restaurants,shops,dessert,drinks and other amenities made it feel like a little town in a resort. Resort is flat, but large enough to offer some movement and different spots for hanging out and strolling, making it more fun in an all-inclusive setting.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing Resort

We stayed at Memories Resort in Holguin. Its a very clean and beautiful place. The staff were friendly,kind, and helpful. Our room was Clean and very up to date. We met some nice people there,and done some excursions. The food at the buffet was ok at the most part, i would have thought there would have been more fish varieties and more fruit choices. But over all the place is great, I would defiantly go back.

Playa Pesquero: 4 star experience

Hotel grounds were immaculate and staff were friendly. The beach was smaller than I expected, and we had a hard time finding chairs most days, they were all reserved by 8am. The pool was enormous and clean, and you can always find a quiet spot to relax. Despite our lowered expectations of the food, we were still disappointed. It was great that most things were made to order, but the dishes were often overcooked and under seasoned, and lines were long (10 to 20 minute wait for your dish to be pr [... read more]epared, on average). Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed the hot showers with good water pressure. Housekeeping was slow at times when we called to order refills of things such as bottled water and body wash. We really enjoyed the coffee bar and ice cream stand. Wifi was good, but only available in the lobby or at some spots around the pool. The nightly entertainment was above average and there was a good variety of different acts.
