Costa Club Punta Arena: it's ok

They Cater mostly to the Mexican that stay at this resort, but grounds were clean, staff are consistently making it look clean, however my room had a smell of what seemed to be urine and the smell got stronger everyday. By the time to complain I felt Oh Well we're leaving in a couple days All the glass (plastic cups) they use for drinks are cleaned and reused. But you can do as I did, find a good one and keep reusing it. Food was not so good, unless you were Mexican rice and beans, But you can go to the Ala Carte which was much better Bacon for breakfast you have to ask for it at the grill where they prepare eggs Also the snack bar food was good (Pizza, Home made French fries, burger The beach is not all sandy and had some beach rocks NO BODY swims there it has a very strong undertow Rooms and baloney are big and spacious, however if your in the old building there is absolutely NO Ocean/ Beach view because of a building in front being built and in the old building there are NO elevators, but 60, yes 60 stairs, I counted to the top/third floor There is a large building being built right in front of the resort so there is constant noise from Monday to Saturday 9 to 5 They do put on a variety of night shows that are ok On a good note the staff are awesome and any complaints the Manager will try and resolve it ASAP The TV remote wasn't working they had it fixed and working very next morning. All in All you get what you pay for with this place, but I'd go back and just eat out

Crown Paradise Club: Amazing family resort and kid friendly!

We had a very good experience at this resort: amazing, helpful staff, everything very close and easy to navigate around. The kids have a safe waterpark, kids clubs and baby club have lots of fun activities! The beach and the ocean were very nice, fine sand and clean water! Great food at the buffet, lots of variety and specialty restaurant. 10/10 rating and would definitely recommend it!

Riu Flamingos: Lovely, well manicured resort

We stayed at the Riu Jalisco from Jan 25 to Feb 1, 2019. It is a beautiful, well manicured resort. The service all over the resort was excellent. All the employees were friendly and happy to help you with anything you needed, be it a bartender, a waitress or the front desk staff. The food was very good at all the restaurants and the buffets, with a fantastic selection to choose from, with the exception of one. We stood in line for 20 minutes to get in but it was a real disappointment. The specialty coffee was a real treat and quite the show. Be sure to ask your waitress to have the “coffee guy” come to your table at least once during your stay. He seemed to always be in the Don Emiliano buffet. The evening entertainment was really quite good. We especially enjoyed the Cirque du Soleil style show and the Michael Jackson tribute. Also the Mr. Riu contest was hilarious. They had a really nice open air theatre situated between two bars with lots of table and chairs. The rooms were a nice size, nicely furnished and kept very clean. There was one thing that did bother us, but I’m not sure what could be done about it. That was the musty smell when you first walked into the room. It was very humid while we were there, but I’m sure it’s always humid there being on the ocean. We have been to quite a few ocean side resorts and I can honestly say, they did not have that strong musty smell. Our friends’ room also had that strong musty smell, so I suspect the whole hotel was like that. This hotel is situated on a beach with a large grove of palm trees so you always had a choice of shade or sun. The beach was very clean and you could walk for a long ways. There were always lots of lounge chairs on the beach and at the pools no matter what time of the day you went down. We never had any problems exchanging our beach/pool towels. There were always lots and the towel lady was very friendly. All in all, it was a lovely place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: The Royal Decamdron Complex - Our Home Away From Home

This was our 11th visit to this resort and the number of repeat guests is amazing. Staff work very hard and aim to please. The buffets change every day and you can always find something good to eat. There is a gourmet station 1-2 times per week where the chef prepares plates that look too pretty to eat. The rooms are basic but very clean. The grounds are beautiful. The entertainment is excellent, including an Elvis impersonator show on Mondays. Staff are receptive to feedback. The beach is ver [... read more]y long and you can walk for miles. Kayaks, boogie boards, and a ride on the catamaran are included. This all inclusive gives you good value.

Crown Paradise Club: A few quick tips and tricks

Breakfast - Where is the bacon? It took me a few days but i found out the omelet lady is the dispenser of the bacon. A $1 tip and smile went a long way towards a decent stack every morning. If you are like us and like sitting close to the edge of the water an umbrella becomes necessary. They rent them on the beach for 15USD a day. I did find when i went on my balcony it improved. The sports bar has lots for kids to do but the hours seemed to be very limited. Every time we went to check out the xBox room or catch a movie in the projector room they seemed “closed” even though the employee was sitting right there? We did play some airhockey and foosball though. (Also a pool table there) Either way we had a great time.

Canto Del Sol: Great Hotel

Everything with our trip was fantastic. Very clean resort, really good selection of food and drink. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spent most of our time at the pool. Lots of activity for everyone. Look forward to going back.

Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Lovely Resort

This resort is wonderful. It is not a huge resort but has everything you need. Staff were friendly and could not do enough for you. The shows every night were excellent. It is only about 10 minutes from the airport.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: great hotel except

Except for entertainment like Bingo night, participation night, casino night, karaoke night. Needs Entertainers and a stage for showtime. Great rooftop bar and gardens. Food is average, buffet is a small space but lots of seating outside

Delfin Beach Resort Puerto Vallarta: Location, location, location.

Fantastic location in the heart of all the nightlife and action of Old Town. Terrific and attentive staff. Food options are buffet-only, but surprisingly good (but some the best restaurants in PV are right around the corner anyway). Upgraded to an oceanview junior suite, room was enormous and very clean. Adult pool was heated to a perfect temp and overlooks the beach. Never had a problem getting a lounge chair around one of the pools. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Beautiful resort but......

Resort is lovely, thought we had problem with securing lounge chairs around pools and on the beach. People would be out at 6am in order to secure their lounge chairs....not enough of them around. Quality of restaurant dinners poor, meat tough.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Fantastic hotel

This was my fourth stay over the past 15 years and has only has gotten better. Great staff, beautiful grounds. Clean rooms and great food. Lots of staff on and always willing to help. Great place for all ages and lots to enjoy at the resort and lots to go and do close by if wanted

Riu Flamingos: Riu Jalisco

The hotel was very nice and the resort was incredible. Staff- excellent Food- the breakfasts were amazing, the buffet restaurant was excellent all the time, the specialty restaurants were a little disappointing. The snack bar was excellent. All desserts were great. Rooms - were very nice with great views, however, the rooms always smelled musty and there was some black mold in the bathroom. Crown Paradise Golden: Not a good holiday

The hotel staff were excellent. Hotel and rooms are dated. The two restaurants in adult section were excellent. The two outside bars, the music played was different and very loud. The entertainment music was deafeningly loud (had to leave five shows). The beach vendors were a constant irritant by bothering one every few minutes giving no time to relax. The beach was not very good

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Not great!

It's a small resort in middle of nowhere. it's 40 minute cab ride of downtown Puerta Vallarta. the rooms need some upgrading and there's always repairs going on. The buffet is limited and lacking in the variety of food. I am a beach person but spent the whole week by the pool. the beach is not great for swimming or laying in the sun. the loungers are in the shade for most the day and the waters are rough for swimming. Housekeeping lacked since everyday I had to go hunting for wash cloths, [... read more] face towels and a bath mat. even after leaving a generous tip the service did not improve. this was my first time to this resort and would not go back. overpaid for the service received.

Riu Flamingos: Beautiful

This is the second time we have stayed at a RIU and were not disappointed. Staff are wonderful, grounds are clean and tidy. We did enjoy all our meals from the buffets to the ala cartes. The entertainment was great! And was always fun to see the guests join in!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Comfortable, Friendly Resort

It is hard to describe all the spectacular features offered by this resort . Grounds are gorgeous and a joy to walk around in. Pools are well maintained and very user friendly. Staff is great and always willing to help. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Food is plentiful and the buffets offer something for everyone. Weather has been spectacular both times we have been there.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: BEWARE....RAMPANT ILLNESS

My husband and and I booked the Grand Fiesta Americana resort in Puerto Vallarta months in advance with great anticipation of 5 ⭐️ accommodations in paradise. Upon arrival on January 24,2019, the resort presents well, but beyond the beautiful views trouble is lurking. Our initial room assigned was on the third floor, unacceptable as we had paid for an upgrade... after much discussion and negotiations we were placed on the 11th floor... perhaps a foreshadow of the trouble to come. Each da [... read more]y we would hear or see more guests becoming violently ill. By the end of the week there was empty lounge chairs to equal the numerous “do not disturb “ sign on hotel rooms. It was evident that something serious was happening, with management trying to mask the situation. Several days I witnessed a team of health and hotel officials testing the water ... hmmm! Personally, I did not feel well all week, but that last 24 hours was the worst as I could not stop vomiting/diarrhea on the way to the airport, at airport, on plane and now at home. While driving to airport, learned from Calgary couple that they had also been ill and had discovered from hotel staff that there was a rip in the water filtration purification system, eventually poisoning the guests. (Maybe not intentional but possibly for some time?) If this is proven, a Class Action Lawsuit should be launched from those affected guests. At least, a thorough investigation of this labelled 5 star resort should be conducted immediately starting with a complete shut-down, various levels of health, government, advocacy and travel agencies involved. Beautiful sunsets, smiling staff, modern room decor and wheelchair accessibility are all secondary to a guests health and well being ... Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Best heated a pool in Puerto Vallarta

We were there on January 24 for one week with our grand children and enjoyed the resort very much . We had stayed at the Dreams before and this Dreams fitted our needs This Dreams rated 7 out of 10 and the Dreams we stayed at before was rated 2 where 1 is the best. It is not too big a resort which makes it easy to keep an eye on the grandkids . Rooms were spotless and large but the large bath tub in the middle of the room took up a lot of space and was never used b [... read more]y most patrons. We enjoyed the no reservations for the a la carte restaurants. Our favorite was the Mexican restaurant where the spanish coffee was made at your table The Buffet Breakfast had everything one would want. We found the service was good Warning : the bathroom toilet door is like a glass shower room door so if you want your privacy be warned. The internet was hit and miss. with a router in every other room. so I suggest if the internet is important you specify a room with the router. Internet was fine in the lobby. The activity pool was well heated and very clean. This made for our enjoyment of the place. Our grandkids spent 4 hours at a time in the pool. The infinity pool was not heated and that was evident as no one was in that pool. We paid extra for the water view and expected we would be close to the ocean. The building closest to the ocean is all condos. We could see a small portion of the ocean from our balcony but we could hear the wave crashing on the beach.The beach is excellent for kids Only two wines were offered a red merlot and a chardonnay. If you wanted another type that was extra charge. I would recommend this as a great family resort.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Not what I expected

The hotel was nice, considering an older building. Clean rooms. Had issues getting linen had to ask for it everyday. We had a note on our bed 3rd day in to use our towels more than once and shut of all electricity when leaving room to save on hydro..eg A-C and fans. Also only changed sheets every other day if asked if not they would change them on 3rd day. Problems with wi-fi all week and we paid for it. Food was ok.The beach area was terrible, very small and a lot of small boats sitting there, [... read more] waiting to take you out to see the whales, and snorkeling. The under toe was some what bad and everyday. Entertain was good a show every night...but no disco's. When we went it was last minute received a little break on the amount..but not worth the $$$$. Won't go back to that resort.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Krystal ... good holiday destination

We just returned from a 10 day vacation at the Krystal. The good.... Carlos and Giovanny!!! you guys are excellent bar tenders thanks for the great service and ready smiles. The room was excellent , the maid service was excellent Carmen did a fantastic job as well! Also the guys at the snack bar and the girl that does the food service there are fantastic I wish I got their names. The so so... the food was not bad but the service was really disorganized it seemed no one has a specific area t [... read more]o look after so they were always running into each other. I think the management needs to work on that. Also, get rid of the cat out of the "O" I found that a little un healthy. The grounds are really pretty but get rid of that green pool, make the walk way on the far side and put out more beach chairs. Even the walk ways into the resort or down to the beach are way to narrow and with the sharp edges your just looking for people to break their ankles! The bad.... no chairs, people reserving chairs on the beach and the pool then not using them all day. The daily newsletter says its a no no but no one does anything about it. I witnessed guests removing towels and getting yelled at by others when they come back 3 hrs later for their chair. Its vacation, no one should set the alarm for 5 am to go get a chair and that is what alot of people do! I would make it a no no to do that its a first come first serve basis to bad if you have to enjoy the sun from a different angle ... but please put more chairs on the beach you have over 400 rooms, and 2 people per room as a minimum you need 800 chairs not the 300 that you have. The beach could use at least another 100 chairs, just have a look next door at the Riu they have lots of beach chairs so no reason why you cant have enough for all of your guests.
