Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort, food not so good

Pros: When yo get here you can't help but be impressed by the infinity pools, beautiful gardens, spread out buildings, beach, etc. The service is good, people are happy to help. You get a butler that looks after you. Good quality drinks, bars. Rooms are large, in nice shape. There are many poolside cabanas with beds - nice!. Enough umbrellas and cabanas on beach for all guests. Good quality loungers, many are in the pool edge where it is 12" deep. In short a very nice resort with one of  [... read more]the nicest beaches I have seen compared to Hawaii, Bermuda, Bahamas, etc). Cons: Bus ride from airport is 1.5 to 2 hours away. Not a fun journey after the plane ride. Several closed resorts along the beach, so not much to do (I knew this beforehand and didn't care). Adult only if that matters to you. Food. The food is primarily a la carte so you can't pick and choose from a buffet - there were some breakfast/dinner appetizer tables which did have good food. On arrival I had a burger which was the worst thing you have tasted. A McD's single would have been just fine. Another time I had calamari figuring we were seaside, so... Terrible, and I'm not being picky. You could get breaded calamari from No Frills and it would be much better. BBQ lunch - sausage was ok but burnt black, fish was completely dry, chicken was not too good. Lots of people dumped a lot of it in the garbage, which is sad. No ketchup after 3rd day. Food Other: some food was good like the beach-side chicken/cheese quesadilla (literally just chicken and cheese). Or the lobster tail (you have to order a few days ahead). Cold meat and cheese trays were good. Wine/beer were good. Nothing really was as good as Milestones for example - just to set the level. Summary - When you see the resort and beach you will realize it is maybe one of the best in Cuba, as it is rated. However the food is generally not good, and bad in some cases. The bad food items should be removed from the menus. It is quite disappointing to see a really beautiful resort where they can't serve half decent food, especially when service etc. is so good. I read online in a few places where there is one food importer for Cuba (communist govt?) so the quality and availability is not there. And there is no competition, sigh... If this is Cuba's best then I will not return to Cuba and would not recommend a friend. Perhaps Dominican has better food at its resorts?

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Best resort in Cuba!

The Royalton exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Finally, a resort with comfortable beds and pillows. We were greeted every morning by our butler who was there to ensure our day would be perfect. A la carte dining was exceptional. The beach was perfection with amazing service everyday. We enjoyed the bali beds at the pool. The entertainment at this resort was also fantastic, live music every night in the lobby was a real treat. Royalton Hideaway Negril: Paradise in negril

Beautiful place with a calm chill atmosphere. Everything we needed for a fabulous getaway. The resort was immaculate and we got a free upgrade! Food was amazing and the staff as well. Thanks to Marnie at tripcentral for recommending this gem!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Disappointed

We recently visited the Royalton in cancun! Right from the start we had troubles. They didn’t clean our rooms, they Would come at 9, 10 o’clock at night when our small children were sleeping. Service is extremely slow. Other than those issues resort was very clean ( minus rooms not being cleaned ). The beach was covered and I mean covered in seaweed, the beach smelt very strong and awful. Lots of garbage washed up on shore while walking the beach.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful place

excellent property. Well layed out site plan. Beach wonderful. Continuous activities, with good entertainment in all lounges. Bistro which is open 24 hours needs to have better service, with more on floor staff. Pool bar was busy but that’s the way it should be. Room was very nice, but toilets do not always completely flush.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Amazing Resort - Met and exceeded our expectations

Marnie recommended this resort and was exceptionally professional to deal with. We can highly recommend her services and the resort. The butlers all did their best to spoil us. The swim up rooms the best we have seen in our travels. The food and service very good. We (family of 10) had a fantastic time.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Time!

Excellent resort. The accommodations, friendly staff and the food were major pluses for this resort. The beach was small and the water was fairly dark and choppy. Pool goers will enjoy this resort while those preferring more of a beach vacation will likely want to think twice. Overall excellent resort, although the cost seemed a bit high.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Resort, Great Staff

The Resort was very clean rooms, grounds, beach were well maintained.The staff at the restaurants and bars were excellent. The food was great, lots to choose from. We were in the Diamond Club and it was well worth the upgrade.

amazing resort. super clean and well cared for grounds. beach is beautiful and swimming pools are excellent. rooms were extremely clean and couldnt ask for better staff. they are just like family. i love this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Impressive

No complains except for the inconsistent maid service. We only had turn down service one night and our last day got no service at all. The wifi was mediocre but I was not on vacation to use the Internet so not a big deal. The food was amazing and the wait staff could not have been more helpful. Better entertainment than I have seen on most resorts.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: A Piece of Paradise!

Amazing resort! Exceptional food options, entertainment and friendly staff. Room was beautiful but unfortunately got a view of construction however you couldn’t hear it when the doors were shut. Pools were great as was the beach minus a bit of unavoidable seaweed. Note: Beware of “Membership Presentstion”

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Fantastic ResortAll beautiful

All beautiful the only downside is the long drive to and from the airport. Staff were great from the front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant staff, bar staff even the maintenance staff. The views from our room were spectacular and the room itself was so beautiful, comfortable beds. Plenty of towels and toiletries.

This resort had beautiful pools. Dining options were great. Service at the restaurants were great as well. Service at the bars could use improving. Some staff were not so happy working there and others, like the vibe team, were amazing. Some annoyances were when they ran out of something they didn’t replenish it. Example. Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Terrible bar service

The bar service and consistency of unavailable drinks at every bar was a huge detractor for us. The wait time for EVERY drink was unacceptable. Some of the staff treated us like asking for drinks or ordering from them was putting them out. With the amount of money we paid and the excellent care other resorts place on their service, we would not place this resort on our return list. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Disappointed

We stayed at the Hideaway from April 26 to May 3 of this year. There was some good and some bad during our stay. Our room which was located on third floor which was ok, the smell of the room was very musty. Resort could have provided something to remove musty smell. We never got to use our balcony due to construction right next to our building. Was very noisy at times from construction inside hotel and outside. The beach was very disappointing on the last days, was full of seaweed. Couldn [... read more]'t walk on the beach due to seaweeds, and could not go swimming at the beach. The pools were just OK, the pool at the Hideaway was always packed with people, and not enough shaded area to lounge. The restaurants were OK as well, nothing to brag about. The staff was very good/friendly except for the people trying to sell you the Diamond Club, they were very persistent in trying to sell you spa for attending a meeting to join the Diamond Club. Overall I was not impressed with this resort. I would not recommend to any of our family and friends.

Royalton Hideaway Negril: Not to be repeated

Service was very bad. Reservations are not required in the restaurants but every night we were told that it would take an hour and a half to find a table even though you can see empty tables. But I’m sure that if a sizeable Tip was offered the data table would be available immediately. Man-made beach at the hideaway and if you wanted a better beach you had to upgrade to platinum. Anything you had to buy like Tylenol or Band-Aids were priced at unreasonable multiples of the average cost any oth [... read more]er places. Nowhere else in the area to buy any conveniences so you had no choice but to pay what they asked. The spa was unreasonably overpriced for example regular massage for 50 minutes was approximately $200 US. Male staff was very helpful and friendly but the female staff had a terrible attitude and we’re very rude. The music was very loud all over the resort and they would repeat the same annoying songs every day. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing vacation

this is our 2nd visit to this resort in the last 2 years and once again we were not disappointed. we booked the diamond club adults side, checking in was quick with in half an hour we were poolside enjoying a cold beverage and we were in our room by 3 o'clock, we were moved to ocean front room the next day views we unbelievable and the rooms are very clean, Butler service well that's up to you but we enjoyed it. Food is top shelf from the sports bar to the buffet to all the a la carte restauran [... read more]ts, there lots of pools to enjoy and the service at pool side was very good. The only down side to this resort is the beach the water is not that pretty blue clear the sand is white and clean and it very private no one is there trying to sell you anything. out of 5 stars I would give it 4.5

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!

We had a wonderful time at this resort! Any issues we did have the staff tried very hard to rectify. We will definately be returning in the hopefully near future. The only service we can honestly say that is not needed at this resort is the butler.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Memorable vacation!

Loved the resort, staff is super friendly and service was perfect. The food was ok nothing great. But that's to be expected at any resort. Beautiful looking resort, very clean and well kept. Entertainment team always kept things fun and made sure everyone was having a great time. My kids loved the splash pad and big pool. Only down side was that I had no idea this resort backed on to a busy street.
