Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Outstanding Family Vacation!!!

Our family just came home from our vacation at Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal Resort. We all had a great time there. A big thank you to all the staff there, they are all so committed to their work. 2 thumbs up. My son enjoyed the Eco-Bahia walking tour. Very educational. We learned so much about the Mayan culture. Thank you to our tour guide. The must try restaurant is Don Pablo at Tulum.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Great Resort for a family vacation

Resort is beautiful, clean, friendly staff, lots of family activities. Kids enjoyed kids club and looked forward to going back. Food is excellent. Spa was excellent good RMT. Only negative on check in we did not get the ocean view room we booked. Only upon seeing our room we realized they give us the wrong room and had to go back to the main desk. They first told us only their honeymoon suites have ocean view . Eventually they upgraded us to a family suite with a partial ocean view. Another n [... read more]egative is the beach is covered with seaweed and staff is constantly cleaning. Understanding this is beyond human control. We stuck to the pool and did not swim in the ocean. Overall great experience.

Riu Tequila: Good value for your dollar

Overall the rooms were clean and the grounds were well kept. The food was very good. Only bad thing we weren't close to the beach. 5-7 minute walk. Over all it was a good place for a vacation. Staff was very kind and nice! Heard they're renovating and would love to see it when it's finished in 6 months.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Comy & Affordable

Nice little resort food was good and pool was nice rooms were average and beach club was nice but not alot of entertainment at night but not that expensive to grab a taxi into downtown areas and beaches which was a nice change of scenery from a week at the small resort it was nice to get out and see the authentic mexican culture the swim up bar at pool actually is not a swim up bar you actually have to get out of pool and walk a bit to the bar which was fine and pool was heated but was a very bu [... read more]sy resort full of small kids so not much relaxing but beach we thought we could escape to for a peaceful nap or whatever but again alot of people asking you to buy goods like every two minutes literally so again a public beach the resort isnt at beach area its 2-3 blocks away but free shuttle to beach so that was fine you get what you pay for and it was affordable and still had a nice vacation but might try a different resort next time as this was listed as a 4 star or more but we say more like a 3 or 3.5 star

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Very close to paradise

Probably the only bad thing to say was that I had to kill a medium size spider in my room. The hotel was advised. All the rest ALL the rest was just from another planet. Nothing is perfect but they work hard to get there.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Perfection

Our stay at the Excellence Playa Mujeres is beyond our expectations. We knew going in that it was going to be nice but we didn’t realize how nice. Everything was pretty much perfect in my opinion. From check in, room, food, service, etc. We had a wonderful trip and could ask for anything more. We opted for the Plunge Pool room, and the decision was the right one. Fu [... read more]lly stocked mini bar, with booze, beer, snacks and refreshments. What I appreciated about this resort is bottled water isn’t in short supply. You don’t have ration out your water every day. It was nice to know you weren’t going to get dehydrated. Beach and pool were amazingly maintained. Staff went above and beyond to make sure you were cared for and the surrounding areas were clean and well presented. Our beach waiter was incredible. Very attentive and we were never without a drink. He even brought us fresh drinks when he saw that our drinks got a little warm. The drinks were very well prepared. From margaritas to pina coladas to a fresh cold beer. The local Tulum brand of beer being my favorite. The beach bar grill was delicious. Every day was a different theme, so the food didn’t get stagnant. It was fresh and they took precautions to keep everything cold/warm. Restaurants were a hit. We didn’t have a bad meal. We preferred the Indian and Mexican restaurants but had great meals at the French, Lobster House, and Barcelona. Breakfast is my favorite when Im on vacation and the Toscana buffet didn’t disappoint. Huge selection and well prepared. The Egg cook was the best. Having been to Cuba many times, I can tell you that Mexico, especially Excellence, blows them out of the water when it comes to food. I can’t praise this place enough. The fitness center with cold towels and fresh juice. The coffee/snack bar. The maintenance crew always looking to improve something. The cleaning staff making sure our room was spotless. The wait staff at all the restaurants. The front desk making sure we were doing ok. Everything was great and I cant see rating this less than 5 stars. We will be going back.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: It was okay

The resort was okay. It was not my favourite considering the service was not that good. Our room got flooded and concierge nor management called to offer us an alternate room. This created alot if dissatisfaction for us as we attempted to followup with front desk more than 3 times. We finally got a new room after 4 attempts and negotation.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing Vacation, Great Resort

The Service was outstanding and we loved everything about Gran Porto. The Room was perfect, the Staff was very friendly, the variety in the buffet was very good, location was right in the heart of Play Del Carmen.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Simply Beautiful!

Nice resort, nice people, great dining. Definitely would go back! Made life long friends and enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere. Would recommend to someone looking for lots of rest and relaxation in style.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Nice Resort

Great location, lots of activities for kids, service was good. Rooms could have been better. Pools were good. Liked the kids pool and mini club. Also liked the mini zoo at the resort. Food was okay...

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Fantastic Resort !

This hotel was great ! The service was excellent. The food at the restaurants was top notch. The Asiana restaurant was lack luster. The Asiana is the restaurant across from the hotel. The server was rude and inattentive. The restaurant wasn't busy and we had to remind him 3 times about something we ordered The Spa was wonderful. Miriam was my masseuse and she was exceptional. And room service was a big plus. There were many options to choose from and we took advantage of it many times during [... read more] our stay. Our pool server was Prudencia. She was friendly and very attentive.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Resort, had a blast!

Everything was fantastic. Buffet and a la carte restaurants were great. Advise: book your a la carte as soon as you arrive, they are all very popular. The beach and pool chairs fill quickly, get there early. Most people save chairs using towels. My one criticism is that the rooms either have two Double beds or one King including a couch/bed for a kid. A double bed for 2 adults is pretty squishy...keep this in mind if needing the double bed option for kids. May need to get a second room wit [... read more]h a King next time.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Loved it!!!!!

This was our first time at this Hotel and loved it!!! We are a family with small children and it was perfect for them. We had a two bedroom suite with a personal assistant and he was amazing. He help us plan our vacation and was available at any time for us. We will definitely go back again :)

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Excellent Resort

Wonderful place to relax with amazing service. You could barely notice that a nasty tropical storm had passed by the day after. It does not have the best beach but it is good enough. It is not for you if your major interest is playing and enjoying being in the sea. However, you will certainly enjoy the many pools available which are everywhere and are quite good. We were very nicely surprised by the ecological friendly philosophy of the management in this resort

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Perfect in every way!

Wife and I booked this place for our 2 year anniversary/honeymoon and it excelled beyond any of our expectations. Rooms are great, clean and well maintained. Pools/gardens/facilities are awesome and beautiful. Food everywhere was top notch with so much selection. Service was the best as all the staff went above and beyond to serve in anyway they could. If you are looking for a resort that is relaxing, with lots of entertainment, incredible drinks and food, nice beach, amazing facilities and best staff/service than this is the place for you. If you want a place with a perfect beach than this may not be the place for you, if they could remove the rocks than this would be perfect paradise. Very pleased overall and can't wait to check out some of the other AM resorts.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Ok Vacation Place

Nice pools and decent food. However, common areas were understaffed and lacked air conditioning. Landscaping was great, but rooms were dated. Also, wouldn't recommend if you have small children. Resort is too large and you are very dependent on the trollies getting you from one place to the next. Trollies weren't frequent enough and very difficult to know which one you needed to take to get to a specific destination (should use different colours to differentiate).

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Wonderful and relaxing resort

The hotel is amazingly huge, and has three parts connected. I like this hotel because the workers oin the hotel are friendly. People recognized us because we are Asian, though we are Canadian. We registered to three restaurants, Tequila, Mediterranean and Le gourmet, all had good services. And I would like to let you know this is a wonderful and enjoyable trip, we really want to tell everybody this is the best hotel you can rely on. Grand Sunset Princess: Great Trip

Everything was what we expected it to be. We had a great trip! The resort was very spacious and clean. The beach was also very clean and beautiful. Lots of entertainment and the shows were amazing!!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A taste of Paradise

The hotel staff grounds and overall running of this resort was outstanding. Food was amazing. Only one suggestion, that the restaurants lobby area improve their cooling techniques with stronger A/C and or large fans. Major problem the snack bar near the pool in the Sian Ka'an needs netting to stop the birds from actually walking on and eating off of the buffet and dive bombing the tables when people leave. Could be a serious health hazard.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: First Class Resort

This resort was luxury and class all the way. The photos on the webpage are exactly what you get. The service is excellent. We loved not having to make a reservation for dinner and just ate whenever and wherever we wanted too. Make sure to dress well for dinner Men should have pants, collared shirt and most importantly, dress shoes..All meals were presented stylishly, even room service, The food was of a high quality. The coffee is not great so we learned to ask only for expresso. The beach had [... read more] silky white sand and was clean but did have a seaweed bed not far off shore and there was a lot of loose seaweed in the water and always seaweed on the beach even though there were staff who came and cleaned it off the beach twice a day. We still spent all our time at the beach and didn't use the pool at all. The only issue I had was the jet skis that raced up and down parallel to the beach constantly. This left the smell of gasoline in the air and a bit of a film on the water. As this resort is right next to a dolphin sanctuary, the jet skis should go! We required medical attention during our stay and the resort doctor came right to our room and arranged transportation to the hospital and for the specialist to see promptly. The concierge phoned twice the next day to see if all was well and did we have everything we needed. The one comment I would make is that this resort is to the north if Cancun by about 15 - 20 minutes. This impacted the excursions we did as everything has to go through peak hour traffic in downtown Cancun, coming and going. This added an extra hour on to any exciursion and we felt it wasn't worth spending the 5 hours driving to swim in a cenote or swim with turtles etc! The golf course was beautiful and challenging. The spa was as good as the best I've seen - or better. My massage was excellent. The downside was the upsellibg on checkin. The two tiered guest system preferred guest or VIP with their own special clubs etc. This made you feel a little second class. The resort dollars that you got on check in were very limited use and we ended up only using $40 of the $200 that we had . One complaint at the Oceana restaurant was that we could only sit at the open windo with the view if we bought a bootleg of wine. We don't drink wine and so missed this experience. Very exclusive and left us feeling less. Thisvresort is extremely luxurious and comfortable .
