The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Good but not much fun

Service is great. However after 1 am its dead. Every bar is closed. Cant swim in the pool. No people outside. Great if you are looking for a quiet place. Not cool if you want parties. Close to lot of cool places. If you want to rent a car and go to places your self its nice.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great cost effective Vacation!

The hotel was very well kept, and the employees worked tirelessly to keep it so. The rooms were clean and bug free, the A/C worked great, and showers had plenty of hot water. The only bad thing is you have to pay to use the safe which was odd that it wasn't included. The food was very good, we did not get sick at all. Only downside is that sometimes there was a lack of variety between buffets, and it was very frustrating to have to get up at 0730 to make reservations for a la carte meals. Tha [... read more]t being said the a la carte restaurants were very good, we especially enjoyed the piccolo and mexicano. Pools were very nice they did sometimes have plants and other debris in the pools, however we did have multiple thunder storms when we stayed. The adult pool was mostly very quiet and relaxing save for the odd group of roudy 18/19 year olds. The events on site were enough to keep us busy with activities when we wanted to be, and the nightly shows were lots of fun even though they were mostly in Spanish. We never used the onsite spa as it was 550 pesos for a massage, and you could get one along the beach for 200. Lots of amenities close by outside the resort: an OXXO and Chedraui just up the hill had everything you could ever want. Also the flea market in Bucerias is only a 25min walk along the beach, and a lot of fun if your looking for souvenirs. Overall this trip was great value and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful resort, but way to many kids

July 16-26/2017 When we arrived we were put in a villa way out by the Dolphin pool. It was a long walk to everything. We asked for a room change since we were repeat customers, then put in Villa 12..... it was awesome!! View of pool and ocean. The pools are very warm this time of year and lots of families enjoying the pool , which made it difficult to have a quiet day. The food was absolutely the best I have ever had at an all inclusive. We did 1 a la carte and it was good. Service in the buffet was top notch due to a wonderful young man named Gama. He lead us to the air conditioned section everyday. The bar service at the main beach was hit and miss, some bar tenders where grouchy and rude. They work very hard having many things to do, but if you can't be nice under pressure get a different job. Would we go back...... only to the adults only section.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Excellent food, service and pool; Lots of night-time and beach noise

FOOD (and service) ranged from absolute 5 stars to 3.5 stars in terms quality. Skip "Barcelona" and "Basmati" and your dining experience will be 5 stars all the way. Special mention to Rafael (French), Irving (The Grill), and Tracy (Tapas) and who wowed us with their calm professionalism and charming personalities. 95% of the staff were outstanding and made for the highlight of the resort - no easy task so major kudos to management. Issue with the 7th block buildings is definitely the noise level that comes from the entertainment - Impossible to go to bed before 11pm as the very loud music would end at 10:45pm every night and sometimes the party would go on after. Guests staying farthest from the main entertainment square would not have this problem. BEACH was not the main draw of the resort - quite small and with lots of seaweed both on/offshore. The main issue for me was the noise from the sea-weed clearing tractor, the bar music, as well as the sea-doos and boats that would run from 9am-4pm. If you swim by the deeper-end of the seaweed before the noise starts you'll catch stingrays and larger fish (1ft+ in length), which I was able see almost every morning. The best seats (most quiet, least traffic) would be taken by 7:30am, with almost all seats taken by 9am. Also, the entire length of the beach is lined up with a row of beach chairs, which unfortunately blocks the views of those in palapas. POOLS were very clean with quiet spots to be found all around the resort at any time of the day. While I'm not usually a pool person when staying a beach resorts, I ended up preferring the lazy river during the day as it was a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the beach. CONCIERGE (and overall management) was extremely helpful and attentive - special thanks to Brenda for helping us arrange for rental car and following up on various requests we had throughout our stay. We had made several comments in their survey and management would be earnest in addressing the issue - perhaps even a little too earnest as we would have several people follow-up with us on single issues, asking how things were. ENTERTAINMENT as far as I could tell was excellent - from casino nights to cross-fit training, Elvis impersonators to spanish classes, ping pong tournaments to cocktail classes; being bored is impossible at the resort. I took part in a few dance and fitness courses that were very well-led.

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Great Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at Secrets the Vine, everything from the amazing staff and the modern property. The resort is geared towards couples and filled will activities from day until night. The entertainment staff was very fun and did a great job at keeping everyone busy at the pool. The beach was beautiful but can be a little rough at times but the 3 pools are a great alternative. If you are looking for an upscale and relaxing hotel I totally recommend Secrets the Vine.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Just okay

Did not like the food, very sub par. 3/4 of us got diarrhea. The hotel doesn't use straws for their drinks for environment purposes but a pina colada is not the same without a straw. The Explorer's kids club also told my children they had to leave 10 minutes before break time at 5pm. My kids were sitting alone in hotel for 10 minutes waiting for us outside of explorer's club. Wasn't impressed with that at all. Pool was very dirty too.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Great vacation at Occidental at Xcaret destination

This is our 2nd time at this resort in the last two years. The grounds were well maintained, as well as the pools, there were lots of leaves and berries in the pool some days, but there were 3 staff in the pool trying to clean it when we were there. I expect it is a big job to maintain the pool with all of the trees surrounding it. We upgraded our room to a suite in the Royal area as we were there celebrating our 5th anniversary. We ate at all of the restaurants and had not complaints, we had sushi at the Oriental a la carte which was good. The sushi at the snack bar was also very good, and the chef came out and made us some special sushi just for us when he saw that we were enjoying what was in the buffet. The restaurant at the Royal area had the best food overall, breakfasts, lunch, and dinners were amazing at this restaurant and all of the staff were amazing. Room service was also available but we did not use it. They made us a Mexican fiesta dinner one night which was awesome and we had a full seafood dinner another night which was also amazing. We did not swim in the beach area this time, but it looked very clean from the beach snack bar. Overall this was a great spot for our 5th anniversary and we did spend a day at Xcaret next to the resort which we also enjoyed very much.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Great Resort!

Good service, friendly staff, clean room, nice pools and restaurants. Always offering to serve drinks and quick service. No pressure to purchase a time share or purchase the prestige plan. Short transfer from the airport. Enjoyed our stay.

Riu Tequila: Not worth it!

Where should this review start? This trip was myself and my elderly mother (her first time to Mexico, my third time, but never at Tequila). Two people and we only got one room key. We had the "garden view" room, the view was of a manhole and the street. The knob of the dresser fell off as soon as we got there. The blankets smelled mouldy. The alcohol in the room was watered down, one alcohol dispenser was broken. The buffet food was lacking, salad bowls had water at the bottom. I wondered why the hotel staff kept cleaning all the time; well that's why...little critters crawling around the hotel lobby! Oh wait! There was cat in the lobby who kept vomiting! This trip was a total disappointment and waste of money.

El Dorado Royale: Phenomenal

This resort was absolutely amazing! Excellent food,excellent service, excellent entertainment, wonderful staff! I will definately be back in the near future!! We upgraded our room to a luxury swim up suit and it was incredible! Best decision ever!

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Perfect Week at Secrets!

Just returned from a week at Secrets in Puerto Vallarta. The resort was amazing from the minute we arrived until we left. Rooms were spacious, and always well stocked and cleaned. We spent our days in the pool or playing VB at the beach or activity pool. The waiters we very efficient and never let you get thirsty. We saw some of the shows every night and were impressed with the quality. We tried all of the restaurants with the exception of the Mexican. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an Adult only resort with a great mix of action and relaxation.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Riviera Maya / Grand Bahia Principe Coba

Stayed at Grand Bahia Principe Coba for 7 days (all inclusive). There are 3 resorts connected together and you can use all the restaurants/facilities when you staying at any of them (Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba). Good food, friendly staff. The only thing some people may not like is that resort is big, you will need to take the golf cart shuttle to get around if your room is on the far end of the resort.

We booked a ocean front room The advertising said a king size bed or 2 double beds. We were not even asked what kind of room we wanted. The room we were given had a queen bed in it . We went down to ask for two double beds and was given a room with 2 beds. The air conditioning was not that strong . The shower even though just had cold water on still came out warm. Resort was clean and the staff worked hard. Overall the resort was great ! The rooms were well laid out and the cleaning staff were fantastic. The food on the other hand was a bit to be desired,poor quality .you might want to think of eating off the resort . The staff were great and helpful but had a low English vocabulary. The pools were clean and lots of seating .only one adult pool a distance from the beach the other pools were full of screaming children .no swim up bars .

Rooms are not sound proof so you hear all noises of the night life. Air conditioning is poor. Pools close at 7 or 8. Unless you want to get up at 7 AM to make restaurant reservations your only option is buffet food. Found dead cockroaches outside our door 3 times. Staff are very friendly and helpful in buffets, bars, during check in and out as well as the conceirge services. Beach is clean and easily accessible. There are no elevators in most blocks so be prepared for the possibility of w [... read more]alking 3 flights of stairs in the heat. Night shows were great. Can book excursions onsite however staff were not always there when they were supposed to be open (over hour and a half late one day). Cost of one week all inclusive was reasonable.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Such a wonderful place

Honestly perfect place to go to relax. Food was delicious and staff was friendly would stay here again. They had 6 different pools to choose from and the shows were really entertaining. You could go bike riding or play tennis or just relax on the beach with a drink.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Excellent family resort

PROS - beach was beautiful - food at buffet was fantastic - staff and service phenomenal - very attentive to detail (especially for wedding couple) - entertainment was different every night and very well orchestrated CONS - rooms are dated, had to be moved 2x (air condition was low, and huge tree obstruction on balcony) - resort was huge, front lobby to beach/pool was too far, very inconvienent - music at pool was poorly set up, and entertainment at beach was mediocore Overall, a v [... read more]ery good experience for friends and families, and especially for Wedding, the wedding coordinator did an amazing job and the actual wedding day went as perfect can be and was beautifully set up (very impressed with wedding day) Manny.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: The Best Holiday We've Had

We loved the staff and their cheerful, respectful, and accommodating relationship with guests. The food was absolutely amazing! The only thing regarding food that we weren't too happy with was that men had to wear long pants should they want to go to one of the specialized restaurants. We find that the climate does not allow for such thing since it's too hot. The pools were constantly clean and great activities were being held by staff all the time, including food and snacks! Sadly the beach has rocks as you walk into the ocean and wasn't clean from weeds, but the sand was really nice and there were always enough chairs. Our room was constantly clean and we had all the towels and supplies that we needed. All in all it was an amazing experience and would 100% recommend it!

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Great service, great vacation!

This place is fantastic! The pools and beach are fabulous, the service is amazing. The sales people were very pushy, but cordial, except for Alejandra, she was evidently angry and short-tempered, she made me change my mind after I had already decided to join their VIP preferred club (UVC). We travel a lot, so I thought it would be a good deal, maybe not. As for waiters by the pool, Consuelo was absolutely exceptional, same with Manuel. Some waiters hold back on the booze and say they don't have [... read more] certain brands (Don Julio tequila, for instance), when they actually do. Not sure why management has that stupid policy that can backfire so easily. The food was really good at the World Cafe and the Japanese Fusion was delightful and original, but the Brazilian restaurant Gaucho was a horrible mistake. Not only is the management so bad that people have to wait hours to get a table while there are several empty tables inside, but the food is awful, all cheap boiled meats, not really grilled, covered in glazed salt, simply terrible. The beach also needs more shade for non-privileged guests, but I suppose that is how they get you to pay extra.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Awesome and amazing vacation.

The level of cleanliness in the hotel was of the highest. The people in Los Cabos were very pleasant to interact with and the vendors were not pushy. The staff were very professional and courteous. Our room was amazing and the view of the ocean was spectacular.
