Barcelo Maya Tropical: Fabulous resort!!!

So we decided to take the plunge and finally go to Mexico. Rivera Maya is fantastic. Best of all we chose to stay at Barcelo Maya Tropical! Best choice ever. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was great from the buffets to specialty restaurants all wonderful. The beach was to die for. Our only regret- we didn't do it sooner. Will definitely be going back.

Smart Cancun By Oasis: Oasis Smart

This hotel is often confused with its adjacent hotel, "Oh! The Urban Oasis" which are mainly sharing the same amenities. the latter is a better hotel than Oasis Smart due to noise from traffic and cleanliness. Though both hotels are sometimes reviewed on various known websites as one hotel. One wonders why Oasis Smart hotel has a high rating if 4 but should be a 3 star hotel at best. 1st Night: they ignored our request at booking to have a quiet and upper floor room facing away from traffic  [... read more]noise but we got the exact oposit. More, we had a very noisy air conditioner. Rooms were specious and clean. 2nd night: no electricity. Can't blame the hotel managenent since this was the city problem but the worst part was the hotel managements had no backup plan (generator!?) to accommodate people. So things such as elevator were dysfunctional during the day. 6th floor lobby was often noisy and could hear people yelling and slamming doors after midnight. 3rd through 6th night: we changed rooms and things got better but one wonders why management would give a room with a super noisy air conditioner? Drinking Water: 5th and 6th nights, Room cleaners did not leave any water for us. We called several times even went to the front desk and we did not get anything. We ended up buying water. I think maybe because we didn't tip the last two days! Location is very central to everything but I would never go back to this hotel as I think if I pay a few hundreds more, I can stay at an all inclusive hotel near beach with free food and of course more quiet.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Valentin First Visit From Mexico Veterans

We have traveled to Mexico and the Cancun area more than 50 times and decided to try this resort. The grounds are beautiful, Resort is spread out so bring your walking shoes or use the shuttles that are available. Food was ok 6 out of 10. The Sushi Bar was fabulous if you like sushi. The service was hit or miss we chose the Privilege package but still were told no, more times than we have ever been told no at any other resort. There were some excellent employees but we found ourselves on the phone trying to get basic services that were supposed to be included in our package. Overall our experience would be 7 out of ten with some highlights and lowlights. We probably will not go back as there are definitely better options that we have frequented on previous visits.

Grand Riviera Princess: Gorgeous hotel

Gorgeous grounds, excellent a la carte restaurant. Very attentive staff. Didn't like being hounded about " time shares". Pool has seen better days, looking a little old with tiles missing. Beach was a little rocky and sea weedy. TV was fixed in our room 3 times, but still didn'the work right. But overall a very nice hotel. Locatio was great.The pros out weighed the cons.

Canto Del Sol: Canto del Sol

We were pleasantly surprised by the pool and grounds ... quite delightful and there were plenty of lounge chairs. The location is very convenient, but the beach is pretty small. The rooms need a renovation but are kept very clean. The only disappointing items were the front desk staff and the Kid's Club was definitely not on par with others we've experienced. We will return to PV and perhaps to Canto (if the price is right!)

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Fantastic resort!

We stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujeres the week of May 19th. From the first moment we arrived, until the time we left, our expectations were exceeded. The grounds, staff and food were some of the best we have experienced at an all inclusive resort. I would highly recommend this resort and will return.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Sweet resort

Had a blast on the surf simulator, the food was great! Beach was wicked, weather was nice I have no complaints over here!! The location is ideal if you are looking to visit any sink holes because there is three or four across the road 😀.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Great family resort

- Hotel was clean, staff was friendly - Would suggest more shade around the pool area - In the morning staff located at the Mexican restaurant could be less pushy with their sales - activities for children were great, a lot of choices to keep them entertained

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Best resort I've been to!

The grounds were beautiful ... Very well manicured. The food was delicious. Second to none service! So much to do! Great entertainment but it could be better advertised. Only suggestion: buffet could be a little cooler in diningroom. It was a little hot.

Villa Del Palmar Flamingos: great place to go and relax

The resort was absolutely beautiful ; right on the water . All the staff (and I mean all) were friendly and polite. Very safe and clean. Great for families with young kids/babies. Food was terrific. Over all, exceeded our expectations.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Fabulous Vacation

Loved everything about this resort! The food was amazing, the pools were so clean, the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you! A 20 minute drive from the airport and fairly close to Playa del Carmen. Peurto Morelos a quaint little fishing town with great restaurants and bars only a 5 minute drive. Rooms were a little dated but clean. A lot of seaweed on the beach but the hotel did it's best to keep it clean. Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great time at the Ocean Coral

If your looking for negative comments you won't find many here. Staff, very friendly and professional. Cathy around the pool was a non stop dynamo. Rooms, mine was musty until I requested a dehumidifier other than that very comfortable. Although the pillows need to be changed out Food was good to excellent, great variety in the buffet. The others were come right in. We had 5 in our group and it's safe to say everyone had a different favourite. The beach during our visit was unusable. The sea was rough. I can't say whether that is the way it always is, it was windy for our whole week. The pools were clean with quiet alternatives to the party pool bar. The entertainment was bit of a question mark. I can't tell you how good or bad. The communication of what was going on where and when was spotty to say the least. The last night however they featured a group of Cuban tenors in an outdoor setting, they were fantastic. I never went on any excursions, I've been to Mexico many times and seen pretty much everything I'm interested in. We made the trip to Playa del Carman and it was fun as usual. The cab fare was $72 one way for a 45 min ride, couldn't find Uber lol. We also spent an afternoon in Puerto Morales and in my opinion its worth the trip, I can't remember the cost, around $35 return??? One recommendation, bring money. There is a bank machine on site but the user fees are frankly ridiculous. Bring your money with you!!!! That's about it. I would recommend this hotel to frankly everyone. There were couples of all ages, groups of men and woman travelling together. Literally any demographic is present.

Grand Sunset Princess: BEAUTIFUL RESORT

I must say I was very DISAPPOINTED with the staff at the Grand Sunset Princess ! I sent 2 emails around the28/APRIL/ 2017 letting them know we were REPEATS A GROUP OF 6 PEOPLE. Also celebrating an anniversary (I did get back 2/replies saying don't worry I'm in the system ever got a reservation code (00775736 When we got there on the 16/May /2017 around 11:30-12:00 : we were told we had to wait until 3 pm to get our rooms which was fine. I spoke to PALOA/OMAR/ AND ANOTHER PERSON who assur [... read more]ed me that they were doing everything to make sure we go the rooms on the ground floor (which I requested in my emails) They assured me the notes were in the system. Then I was told I only asked for a king size bed , I told him check the system I know what I put in my email. However we kept waiting and the kept having their conversation .DID NOT GET MY ROOM TILL AROUND 4 PM. Paloa came to me and said the swim-up room there's an extra charge (I told her I asked for the ground floor close to the regular pool, she insist there's a charge for that (since when ? when I came in 2015 we got the ground floor close to the regular pool (that was how my vacation started off very disappointing . Another traveller came from Colorado on the same day around 3 pm as soon as he came in went to the counter he got his room (how fair is that when we were waiting there since 11:30 am ( I went to desk and asked how come he got his room they said to me it's pre assigned so what happened to ours? Then I asked about REPEATS: I was told I have to go talk to the concierge ( I thought when I sent my emails in advance it would have been taken care of like every other vacation I have taken in the pass I always send emails to the resorts ......... but I was wrong ! So I went to my sun wing rep (AMEILA) I explained what happened and how I was so disappointed with this vac and the staff at the front desk (no one tried to help me absolute no one everyone kept saying no mam, no mam. However Ameila tried to help me after a 3 days but the disappointment was there already, and didn't help since I was leaving in 4days . For an up class huge beautiful resort like the Grand Sunset Princess : the staff needs to be more trained to handle the people that comes for vacation from all over, as the prices are not cheap and people spend a lot of money to come and enjoy themselves to take a break and relax then to come and get this kind of treatment.. In the past a lot of our friends and family go to this resort (recommend by us ) Grand Sunset Princess is a beautiful resort! and we had such a great time in 2015 , so we decided to go back for another vacation.............

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great facilities and entertainment

The resort was overall great. The food was plenty with a good selection. The restaurants were very tasty. No reservation required. The kids enjoyed the mini and teen clubs. The bowling alley was lots of fun. The nightly entertainment was spectacular. The only down side was the beach. It was dirty and small. Not great to swim in. There were lots of rocks and seaweed.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: The Grand is very Grand!

Staff service and friendliness, food presentation and quality, room/lobby decor, amenities, gardens/lighting, all-around cleanliness all excellent! However the Grand Palladium was just to big for our family of 4. We spent too much time walking everywhere. By the end of the week, we still could not figure out the train/cart system. The Thai, the Brazilian and the Spanish a la cartes were superb! The live bands during lunch and before the evening shows were great, as was the magician. Unfortunatel [... read more]y, the POP shows,10-11pm were much too late for us to enjoy. The disco was open after the evening shows,11:30-2pm. There were many amenities we didn't get to enjoy as we preferred the ocean waters. We got to jump waves and get some snorkelling in. And yes the seaweed was annoying to say the least. There are no oceanfront rooms unless you are a Palladium family member. If being connected to your laptop/phone and want lots to do and like to walk a lot, in addition to many other wonderful features, you'll love it. For us, we like smaller, quieter, more intimate. For us from now on, less will be more....

Grand Sunset Princess: Great Resort!!

This was my second stay at the Grand Sunset Princess in the last year. Much like my previous stay you really can't say anything bad about this resort. The grounds are very well maintained, the rooms are clean and well maintained. I stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite in the closest building to the beach and it was perfect for us as we spend most are days at the beach and not the pool. The walk to the lobby I do not consider to be a long walk however others in my party whose rooms were not close  [... read more]to the beach found the walk to be a little long however there is the little trolley that runs all day from lobby to beach but if you miss it you may have to wait ten minutes or so for the next round trip. There were a few extras that were not there last year when I visited which I thought were nice added touches i.e. Drink carts at the pool deck areas offered different drinks every day at no charge and in the evening there was a cart outside the buffet restaurant that made speciality coffees (Spanish, Irish, Mayan, Italian, etc) which were so very good with fresh whip cream on top!! This year took the shuttle into Playa Del Carmen for 50 pesos each way which was great and convenient and cheaper than a cab ride (although cab ride not expensive either). Food - Buffet restaurant served decent food. Good selection and everything was very tasty. The only negative comment I would make are their posted signs of what each food item is are confusing as they aren't necessarily in the order that the sign indicates as well the writing on the signs are super small and hard to read. Also they should add more staff at the omelette station in the mornings and at the grill/pasta stations in the evenings. Getting an omelette made sometimes took upwards of 15 minutes just standing in line as there was only one cook same with grill station in the evenings. All in all this resort is perfect for families and is a good value for the price. Other negative I think is important to mention is the condition of the pool by way of missing tiles only. Various sections of all the pools had missing tiles. I'm sure that there must be a way of repairing the missing tiles without having to drain pools. This could be dangerous in fact one member of our party cut his toe on one of the areas where the tiles were missing and required a hospital visit and stitches. Have to say however that the hotel management arranged and paid for his transportation to private hospital and paid for the medical bills!!

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Great Resort

This resort was very good. I enjoyed my stay and would have like it to be longer. The rooms were very clean and the staff responded very quickly to assist with any issues. The food was excellent and plentiful. The pools were very large and clean. The beach area was pretty small but was very safe because of a barrier wall that kept the waves at bay. All the employees of this resort were excellent.

Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: WOW

Literally everything about this resort is amazing. The food (even the buffet, especially the restaurants) was top notch. For the buffet I especially enjoyed the fried cheese and the white chocolate fountain. As far as restaurants, the Japanese restaurant absolutely killed it! I actually would just go back for that specific restaurant. One worker in particular named Cecilio who was driving carts was extra helpful. He drove me around to at least 2 different areas on my own while I was searching for a lost Ipod and jacket. He sensed my urgency and went above and beyond to help me out. As a joke I nicknamed him "Fire-Catcher" which I think he found humorous. Rooms and pool were all properly sanitized and I really felt safe on the resort. At no time did I want to go home, even when the trip was over. We met up with another worker in particular, Oscar, who was an awesome game-host and brought us to play some darts. He recognized me everyday and was an awesome friend to have on the resort. The shows were also great, especially a fire show. The beach is amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better setting for the wedding of my two best friends. Really, cheers guys! You made us all very happy.

Playa Mazatlan: never again

stayed at this resort from April 26th to May 6th 2017, I don't think any one in our group of 10 would return. the good first....the beach is nice and a FEW STAFF were great other staff could not communicate and pretended not to understand. Management was absolutely horrible and would not even meet to discuss concerns and would just say come back later. the Buffet was small and very limited, we were informed tourist season was over and as the resort was filled with mostly locals all buffet items  [... read more]were not international. the omelets station and sandwich station were good but after 10 years of traveling sometimes twice a year this was the first resort without a pasta bar. nightly entertainment was okay if you got to go, they have very limit space and line starts at 9am and is full by 9:30 kids were disappointed as they are used to seeing nightly shows. they have a sports bar to watch sports but had no hockey channels for the playoffs only soccer. no repersenitive from West Jet on sight or very very limited and if you want to call them the resort charges you for local calls. the resorts placement in the city is great but I think I would go back to El Cid first and just walk a little further. the Mexican Al carte was horrible as they only got 2 orders right out of 10 and people were left headed to buffet. Italian al carte was excellent with great staff. now let me tell you about why I wanted to see management.....we booked the trip 6 months early, we booked 4 rooms with 2 adjoining as we were told by trip central they have them. I contacted the resort 3 month before we left and was told they don't have the adjoining rooms and to call trip central after contacting them ( Tom was no help) told me to contact West jet. we contacted them and they informed us there was nothing at that resort.....no problem.....i thought I would check again with the resort before we switched resorts and was helped by lic. rocio, I told him my situation and he emailed back that instead of switching resorts he made it possible for an adjoining room plus the other 2 rooms on the same wing...great...i thanked him over and over....i contacted the resort 1 week before we left and was informed by the same person that the adjoining rooms were given away by the front desk and there was nothing they could do, as we were traveling with 2 other family's it was to late to start switching resorts. we told to go to the front desk the day after we arrived and there should be a adjoining rooms opening up and we could move...the resort played games every day and told us no rooms. my family was split in 2 rooms and it was the worst vacation ever.... if they were honest from day one we would of switched resorts and enjoyed our trip. front desk was rude and management avoided us....we have traveled all over and I have never wrote a review like this and will recommend to never go to this resort or book with trip central all they want is your money and that's it.....its a shame to be treated to bad after you spend your hard earned money to go there....avoid this place. and trip central

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort for families

Overall we had a really enjoyable stay at Azul. As a person who has only ever done one all inclusive prior to this, we had a great experience. Don't get me wrong there are areas for improvement, but nothing that would impact a reasonable persons stay in any way. Grounds were immaculate, food was overall very good. Bit of a range, some very good, some above average. But lots of options. Pool, beach, staff were all also really good. Overall definitely recommended.
