Playa Vista Azul: Fabulous winter getaway

Beautiful and clean resort that made for a perfect extended weekend getaway. The Ocean Vista Azul was everything we had hoped for. Beautiful resort, clean rooms, polite and gracious staff and outstanding views. The only issue we had was with Air Canada as we were delayed 3 hours due to things that were completely within their control. Obviously delays happen due to unforseeable circumstances, but these were silly personal issues that delayed and impacted our trip. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great family resort

The grounds were very well maintained and rooms lovely and clean. A good selection of restaurants and lots to choose from at the breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff willing to do anything to make your stay pleasant.

Ocean Maya Royale: Tired resort

Trip hazards abound on the slowly decaying paths on the way to your chlorine smelling room. Chicken bones and glasses can be found in the pools as well as several missing tiles. Enjoy the barely warm fish or chicken at your own risk while waiters work diligently to avoid you. Requests are carefully listened to and promptly ignored.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: The break we needed from winter

The bedroom was amazing. We were two adults, one infant and one baby and the hotel gave us two double beds, one single and a crib. Pool area is really top notch. Staff relentlessly attentive and careful beyond duty. The beaches are absolutely clean and the ocean has to be the bluest I have ever seen. The food is really good and my son never even noticed the country or cuisine difference.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Excellent resort

- Excellent resort close to Cancun Airport, nice sandy beach albeit "infected" with algae near the shore. Ocean Blue and Sand: We had a great time !

We just got back Jan 2019 and both my husband and I were sick in bed vomitting for 12 hours but that can happen anywhere. Everything else was good. The beach is not great as the lounging area is built up and not exactly on the beach front, you can however easily walk the Bavaro Beach and swimming was great. I loved that the restaurants and entertainment area is away from the beach and sheltered from the wind. It made sitting out on the patios very enjoyable. We enjoyed all the restaurants. We probably wouldn’t go back only because we want to try other places.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Good resort

The food is good but the same all time. Need more verity for there food. Internet is horrible even if you pay for extra it works when it wants. Systems is always down. Grounds on the resort are nice but needs time to mature. Towels for beach always run out and the person never there to switch the towels. Al cates are rediculous. Snak bars are good. The resort runs out of stuff a lot. People bring you snacks. ( chips, cookies etc.). Bring your own condiments and such. But the best part of this resort is beach and Auca center they are the are the best people I ever met. The bar on the beach is the best. I never use the pool the beach is that’s amazing. Staff at the resort are very nice and they try there best to make everyone happy. The weather was great and excerstion are really amazing as well.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Adequate not excellrnt

The staff were good and friendly. The food was particularly bad, The cooked meat was tough to eat. I would not return nor trvord this. Place. Saw d number of people fall on the slippery tile floors. Several appreared serious falls! The pools and beach were very good and easily accessible , clean and well maintained.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: It's an all inclusive...

In order to set the stage, I will say that this is the first all inclusive I've been to in 20 years and I travelled with my 15 year old son and 13 year old daughter. We typically do vacation rentals and stay more immersed with locals. I chose this resort based on location for the beach, the advertised sports facilities and teen club. I'm not a foodie and my kids aren't fussy eaters. So the resort. It was certainly adequate when it came to accommodations, restaurants, drinks, entertainmen [... read more]t, safety, staff, service, etc. The resort apparently opened in 2016 and was hit by a hurricane in 2017. The infrastructure is rough (walkways in poor shape, obvious water damage on any wood used in construction), more a sign of the harsh climate, hurricanes and constant tourist traffic I suspect then anything else. As mentioned I chose this resort for the advertised sports facilities, these were a let down but we made the best of it. the tennis courts look 20 years old not 3, but the nets were up and the resort had rackets and new balls. The basketball court surface was in the same rough condition and the hoop was bent but we still played (ball provided by the resort). The volleyball net at the beach was not worth trying. There was no teen club to be found. There was a ping pong table near the main bar which the kids enjoyed every night. the room had a couple of issues, ceiling fan didn't work and the toilet leaked on the floor which we used a towel to keep in check, and the light fixture on the balcony was partly ripped off the wall, but we were not bothered by any of this. We didn't get/request daily housekeeping, but the staff in our building (unit 16) were very accommodating whenever I needed to exchange towels or get extra toilet paper. I think everyone knows the deal with food in Cuba, it's a little bland I guess, but we were very satisfied with the nightly buffet selection. I'm not one for waiting in lines, so I didn't bother making reservations at any of the a la carte restaurants. Seemed to be lots of people who felt it was worth waiting in line every morning though. There were several excursion options available, we did the catamaran cruise with snorkeling and dolphin interaction, kids loved it, I would have liked to free the dolphins.... An important note is that my Scotiabank MC credit card apparently has ties to American banking system as it was rejected when I was hoping to book other excursions, the WestJet rep indicated this was a relatively new development with Scotiabank credit cards. A major plus were the Cuban people. Keep in mind they are on Caribbean time not North American time. We found that the service was great, the staff was very friendly and helpful. From the guides to and from the airport, to receptionists and housekeeping, to bar staff and waiters, the people were the best part of the resort. So all in all, I won't be back to this resort, but only because I don't enjoy all inclusives. My kids said they would go back with a group of friends which I think is great!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: High Expectations Realized.

Once again we found the Ocean Casa Del Mar to be a relaxing and enjoyable vacation spot. Some of the folks remembered us from before and made us feel very welcome again. Linet from the bar and Joleidy from the kitchen in particular. The room was clean and without problem, and the grounds were very well kept. If we had one complaint it would be that the sound system in the theater was unbearably loud. We only saw one show so maybe we just picked the wrong night. I was there for only 4 nights but had an amazing experience ! Very friendly staff ,upkept resort,beautiful beach and all on the budget price Only thing that's negative is huge boulders first 10 meters of the sea as you enter the water Also, know what you are signing up for as it's about 3 hour drive from the airport on this bus with all the stops

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Gorgeous Resort

Pros; Wonderful resort. Great restaurants. Best Buffet ever. Have stayed at Riu’s, Iberostar’s,Bahias, Palladium’s and Barcelo’s. The H10 chain of resorts are the best. We stayed at the Paradise last year. Also, excellent. Staff fabulous! Always cheerful, helpful, and would go the extra mile for any requests. Cons: Need more elevators in the far reaching blocks 1000-3000. Getting older and the knees and hips aren’t what they used to be. Had to walk from the 3000-5000 block from [... read more] the 4th floor to take one. Too far, especially at the end of the day. However, will definitely be back. Room also, was beautiful!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Excellent resort

I traveled with my elderly parents the last week in January 2019. When deciding on a resort I specified that I wanted a smaller resort with easy beach, pool and restaurant access and Nicole Deforest recommended this resort. We were extremely pleased with everything! Clean, friendly staff, excellent food, easy access. I would very much recommend this hotel.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Beautifull Resort

Ocean Coral was a beautiful resort and the restaurants were very good. we enjoyed the buffet at Breakfast and Lunch. Lots of choices for 4 everyone. There are 4 omelet stations in the morning so the wait was very short. The waiter will even bring you Cappacicino or Lattes . We especially enjoyed the Blue Moon a la carte where the filet mignon was wonderful. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and happy to get you what ever you wanted. One down side was the liquor selection for the sta [... read more]ndard package, the rye was unacceptable(LDT brand or Less than Desireable Taste), CC was an upgrade but there were 4 scotch choices and 3 bourbon choices, once again catering to our US neighbours. I'm a rye drinker in the evenings. The drinks around the pool were very good. There was also lots of sparkling wine all day. The beach was very ruff and yes the seaweed is a problem but the staff works very hard to take it away every day. Lots of lounges and palapas. The pool deck is quite tight because of the amount of Bali beds that take up space so the lounges were close together but at least you got to know the people around you. The rooms were bright and spacious and the grounds magnificent. I don't think that the extra cost for the premium package is worth it the pool is very small and the bar is inside .

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Third Time Was A Charm!

This was my 15th time to Cayo Santa Maria and third time staying at Ocean Casa Del Mar. My room was perfect. The grounds were kept very clean. Coffee and drinks from both Mike’s Coffee and all the bars were delicious. There was always a great variety of food at the buffet. The best part of this resort is some of the amazing staff who I feel blessed to call friends. Daniel, Leo, Iran, Raider & Dania in the Buffet always provided the best service. Gali, Yunior and Edel at the Pool Bar made [... read more] the best drinks. The Animation Team when under the lead of Big Daniels was most enjoyable. I cannot wait to return!!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Loved Everything!

Beautifully manicured grounds, fast and efficient checkin at the Privilege area. Food and drinks were always exceptional, as was our butler, Paola. This is our 2nd time staying at he Ocean Riviera Paradise and we would go back in a heartbeat. Marco at the Privilege Beach area was amazing, always a smile in his face:) Endrick at Route 66 restaurant was friendly, funny and kept our drinks filled and the food came fast. The privilege upgrade was totally worth it!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great vacation

The resort was great (not as big as others, easy to get around, clean)! Our rooms were clean (a little musty smelling but we had a lot of rain). The majority of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help, the food was satisfactory to great (depending on where we ate). Really enjoyed our meals at the Japanese, Italian and Mexican restaurant. Found the steaks at the steak house really fatty and the food at Route 66 (after dinner hours - cold and unappealing). Ocean El Faro: Nice resort, poor service

This hotel was beautiful and nice and new however the service was very poor. We brought American money to tip and wanted to break it into smaller bills and no one would do it for us. We finally found Manuel at the lobby bar and he was great. He treated us like kings and queens and gave excellent customer service. He really seemed like he loved his job. We also had a hard time getting into the restaurants at night. We would make a reservation and come back for it and they would make us wait for 1 [... read more]0-15 mins longer multiple times. The first night we waited for an hour and a half till 9:45 and then finally walked into the restaurant and forced ourselves in because they closed at 10pm and we were afraid we wouldn’t get dinner. Pools were amazing and lots of them. Lazy river would have been nice except you have to supply your own tubes. Not sure if I would go back.
