My experience at this hotel was awesome. The rooms and eating areas were kept very clean. The grounds, garden areas and beaches spotless. The entertainment and food amazing. The staff very pleasant. I was never bored. The excursion trip I took to the Blue Mountain was very informative and entertaining. Beautiful scenery!

Riu Santa Fe: Underwhelming Resort
The beach was beautiful but wasnt expecting to swim in there as the tides and undertow very strong. No fault of the resort.
The pools were very nice esthetically but the tiles were falling apart and were constantly stepping on loose plaster, chips and stones. The Infinity pool overlooking the beach was nice providing good views.
The food was horrid.... all of it. We didn't enjoy any meals except the italian restaurant. The buffets were horrible and constantly running out stuff, ie pancakes du[... read more]ring breakfast, most likely cuz it was the only thing that was relatively good. The restaurants, you can't make reservations... you have to line up outside the restaurants when it opens and add your name to a list and hopefully they can accommodate the time you'd like, also the restaurants are buffet as well.
The Waterpark was good, both for adults and kids. There is no shuttle service so prepare to walk a lot. They host themed parties 4 or 5 times a week and it is crazy loud. If you're in villa 7 and 8 you're screwed. When we asked about switching cuz we had babies with us, they said we posssibly could put you in different villas but you'd be downgrading drastically... we had concerns with our room so we didn't want to downgrade.
Our maids were phenomenal. They did a great job cleaning and preparing our rooms, they even found a necklace my wife lost in the room and returned it.
This truly is a party resort. If that's what you want go here. If you don't care about food, rooms, conveniences then go here, if you are going with family and young kids.... avoid big time.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing Resort!
This is a beautiful resort, great location with a spectacular view!
Management team, front desk, room service was all great, very helpful and efficient. A little disappointed with not having adequate access to the beach in front of the property due to the strong undertow current. Some of my concerns, was the noise level on the first and third floor; housekeeping carts, intoxicated guests kept on slamming their room doors in the night. I was on the third floor in a non-smoking room but the stron[... read more]g cigarette scent from the other rooms came right through the ventilation system into my room, which made it seems like I am in a smoker's room. It seems like this hotel keep promoting their sister hotel "Riu Sante Fe" for entertainment and less focus on this hotel for the weekend entertainment.
Overall, it was a very nice vacation.

Riu Republica: Good resort
Went on a solo trip and the resort had lots of activities for people there.
Wished the room was cleaned better even when asked multiple times.
Ricardo at the front was amazing
The staff should try to ensure all guests are treated equal to the games
The jerk chicken was really good and strongly recommend going there for lunch.
If you want to dine at the steakhouses please make reservations at 630pm.
Book your excursion at Scuba Caribe, $99 gives you 7 activities.

Riu Tequila: Great Resort
The grounds at this property are beautiful, and the staff that look after it do an amazing job. This is probably the cleanest resort I have ever been to. The public areas and washrooms are always clean and the cleaning staff do an amazing job. There were 4 ala carte restaurants and 1 buffet restaurant. The restaurants do not take reservations so some can get quite busy at the beginning of dinner time. The buffet restaurant was fantastic and offers a wide variety of different types of foods. I at[... read more]e at 3 of the ala carte restaurants and they were all good. We had a regular room in 3rd block which was conveniently located close to the main lobby as well as one of the pools. The room was quite spacious and very nice. Most nights the entertainment was pretty good. The entertainment team was fantastic and always friendly and happy to answer anything you had questions about. One day they had a foam party in the activity pool and it was quite fun. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. The beach was across the road and about a 5-7 minute walk through a pathway. The beach was quite large with lots of chairs to use, however not much shade only palm trees to keep the sun out. Even though I was aware of the seaweed problem in the Playa del Carmen area, I was disappointed to see that there was still quite a bit of seaweed there everyday that you had to wade through to get out into the water. The hotel did there best to keep it under control by cleaning it up everyday but it just kept coming back. All in all this was a fantastic resort for all age groups and I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for an all round great time.

Riu Caribe Cancun: Not the best Riu Resort
The cleanliness of the resort wasn’t the best. This isn’t my first time in Mexico and I had high expectations considering my visits at other Riu resorts in the past. The food wasn’t good at all... and the pools were dirty. Someone was throwing up almost every day. and staff made no effort to clean up… people swam in the vomit. Most disappointed I have been at a Riu resort. Also the front desk staff are very rude and not helpful either. Will not recommend again to anyone!

Riu Republica: Great resort
This was a great resort with lots of pools and many lounge chairs. The bars had many good drinks and always around to take your order. The food was ok but it could have been better. Our room was the main floor courtyard, quiet with large rooms. It was my husband birthday so when we came in from the pool he had little gift to celebrate the birthday. We we also had a bottle of champagne. All in all the experience was good with lots of things to do.

Riu Palace Antillas: Amazing week
Just got back from the RIU Antilles and had to share. What an amazing resort. Staff all levels from front desk to cleaning staff are so very friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate if possible. Room was beautiful, we had ocean view junior suite. Asked maid for xtra bath towels and some days we got them, others just the two. There IS ongoing construction and our room faced that way but as the workers there don't start until close to 8am, it was never a concern for us. ALL even number[... read more]ed rooms face this way, staff did offer to move us but we were already settled so didn’t. Food is fantastic, steakhouse being best and lineups prove that. Restaurant opens at 6:30pm but line ups start at 5:30pm. Entertainment is good, make sure you catch the pirate show!!!! You can go from one show to the other at the RIU palace side. You can also eat over there BUT only in their buffet. 7mins walk to Palm Beach area shopping and it is fantastic, make sure you go in the evening when it’s cooler and it’s all alive with lights. You can walk the main rd area or simply walk towards beach of resort and there’s a paved pathway through all of the neighbouring resorts. Lovely walk. Aruba is crime free so totally safe. Beach is lovely and you can walk for miles. Always a nice breeze so never feels humid but it is very very hot so make sure you take lots of sunscreen. Never need a sweater, very comfortable in the evenings. Beautiful island, very modern on one side and desert like on the other. We took the Aruba island tour $51 for 4-1/2 hrs, booked via SunwIng, Peter our guide was great. We were stressed over recent Sunwing issues and went to airport 4hrs ahead, we were all checked in and through security within half hour!!!! The elite plus was well worth it for xtra leg room and priority line to check in. Your luggage also comes off first. Sunwing were represented well at the resort from 8:30-4:30pm every day. Flight took off on time both ways, all in a fantastic vacation.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Huge Resort
The hotel in general is very clean and very large, takes time to get to restaurants and bars etc,All the staff wore masks and there was hand sanitizers everywhere. I found that because there were so many guests at the hotel that the quality of food was compromised, usually cold and overcooked, and there were several nights that we went to bed hungry. Steak house had the best service but the worse food. Italian restaurant had the worse service and the food was very salty. So the buffet was the m[... read more]eal of choice, again cold and overcooked.

The service wasn't a 5☆ and also the beach was disappointing , they clean pools very late in the day, staff not to friendly 🙄, sea weeds at the beach smell terrible ,change the buffet dinner from one restaurant to another without notice.... we understand that opening after the pandemic is kind of difficult especially with short staff .....

Riu Negril: No it was not amazing.
The grounds where insects infested. We where dinner for them.
The resort spray for insects and did not notify guess. So we had to run for cover as the machines expelled fumes when treating the lawns.
Riu host and hostess awoken us while we where sleeping on the beach. ( Saying, wake up we are here, it’s 10:00 a.m.)
We could not book a meal at the restaurant. We had to line up outside in the sun and heat. It was first come first served. Then they had a second setting. 9:00 p.m.
So dinner wa[... read more]s in the buffet. The meat was over cooked dry and on a few occasions burnt.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort!
We were very pleased with our stay in Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. The food is excellent and hotel is very very clean and maintained well. The staff did a great job keeping our room clean and organized everyday. I only have one concern with the entire stay. I returned home with bite marks on my leg. Not sure if this is something I caught from bed bugs or if it was something else. Other than that it was 5 star all the way.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Amazing resort
We had a great experience and loved everything at the Palace, including our experience with Saskia Singh at Tripcentral and Sunwing. It is a beautiful and luxurious hotel.
From the adults perspective, I really liked the smaller scale resort and the opportunity to have connecting rooms, so we could have access to the kids but still have our privacy. Food was excellent with great available options for food and drinks - all high quality. The service and cleanliness were also superb. We really l[... read more]oved all the specialized restaurants, the Mexican was my daughter's favourite, my son gravitated towards the steakhouse with their 12oz offerings of ribeye and New York steaks.
Everyone was really attentive and focused on making our stay fantastic. No mosquitos or bugs of any kind, a fresh breeze from the ocean was the best.
Entertainment was good with the Michael Jackson show and the Mariachis being the highlight of the selection. The Riu party on the neighbouring Jalisco resort on Friday, was good and really well organized, as they were shuttle busses every 15 minutes back and forth from the Palace and the Vallarta resorts.
We also ventured on several walks along the beach and the close by town of Bucerias - very safe, nice and friendly. The beach was good and very, very clean. Many people enjoy the swimming here, but still not my kind of beach. I come from the Caribbean and the Pacific side is a different experience altogether.
Our kids (14 and 17) felt the resort was on the small side with a single pool with no walkouts to the pool, but they really had opportunity to relax and unwind. They also missed having a specialized Italian restaurant which is a staple in pretty much every single resort we have been in, but there was a tremendous selection of foods, specially beef, pork and seafood (so much quality seafood) - no drumsticks and thighs, only chicken breast on the menus for the chicken lovers.
Overall, one of the best resorts I have been in. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Riu Flamingos: Great Resort
We just got back from a week at Riu Jalisco. Positive comments: Great food, great staff, very clean and beautiful grounds. Only negative was going this time of year, there were alot of people so hard to get a table and get drinks at the bar. But otherwise, really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Boring Palace
When we arrived at the hotel from the airport we checked in we asked for a bellhop we waited didn’t get any and we had to pull our own bags to our room and my husband and I are both handicap we were given a room closer to the elevator which was great which is what we had asked for. When we got to the room we learned that our coffee table as well as our washroom door were really really dusty there was supposed to be a little something for our 25th anniversary in our room as our children had arr[... read more]anged for it prior to the trip and there was nothing there the food is not the greatest. On 1 of the days I asked to get a burger well done (in the main buffet) and I was flat out refused because they were closing in 20 minutes. The food was way better at Santa Fe when we visited los Cabo since I had stayed there the last time they claim to have Indian food which was hardly Indian food it was disgusting to be honest it would give it a zero stars. the service in the lounge in the lobby bar area there was this one lady I couldn’t catch her name as many times as I tried but she’s the only one who wears the orange sparkle eyeshadow in that vicinity that woman has an attitude problem I needed a straw for my drink and she had an issue with that as if it was coming out of her salary. Masks still had to be worn in the buffet areas. The staff at this resort were not as friendly as the staff at other resorts but that’s probably because they are required to wear a mask in 30 degree weather. I felt so bad for them. Honestly, I will NOT be returning to this hotel again. This is not the RIU Palace it was 7 years ago. This place is for older people there’s nothing happening at the Palace. And the staff really need an attitude adjustment. Luis who was working the front desk was the only 1 person who was very helpful. The hotel didn’t have signs notifying the program of the day as you usually see at other resorts. There were a couple of screens there that were supposed to provide that information but that was useless. Overall, not the greatest trip …. Certainly NOT heading back

Riu Reggae: It's not 5 stars
This hotel needs an update. The lobby is very shabby and the resort is very dated. Best beach of all 3 surrounding beaches (least seaweed and most Palm trees for shade). The people are older (late 30s to mid 50s), so I wouldn't recommend it to people in their 20s like me. It does however give you access to the Riu Montego Bay lunches and clubs. The entertainment staff is awesome but the rest of the staff is rude or very inappropriate, male staff offering you weed or to take you off the resort.

Riu Dunamar: Be warned
Grounds are kept clean constantly. The food is mediocre and never changes.
My disappointment was in the pool bar. They would literally recycle plastic cups and reuse them for shots and drinks. By recycle I mean they would dump the used cups in a sinks and rinse them quickly with water and reuse them. The alecarte restaurants were terrible food, stick to the buffet. The resort does not have small bills for usd and when you convert, you only get Mexican pesos. It was a real struggle finding chan[... read more]ge for tips.

Riu Palace Antillas: Beautiful Resort
Rui Antillas is a very nice Resort. Clean and well maintained. Hotel Staff and Room Service were Great.
Food was good, lots of selection for picky People. If you like your food spicy, bring your own hot sauce.
Rooms were cleaned daily and in a timely fashion.
Beach is clean and staff always ready to get you a chair. We didn’t have any issues getting a chair at any point in the day and didn’t have to get up at 5am to put out a towel. Its windy on the beach at times and you real[... read more]ly need to be careful of the Sun as its deceiving you will get a sun burn. There is a great Store in the hotel that sells Aloe Vera Products made in Aruba.
Activities were good, the staff does a good job of getting People to participate.
Casino is open late for all those who love to gamble their money away.
Shopping is close, you can either walk 5 mins to a shopping area filled with restaurants or you can take the local bus for $2.60 into town.
There are 2-night clubs within 5 mins of the Hotel which were awesome. Since it was Memorial Day weekend the Soul Beach Festival was on, we went to the Comedy Night with Mike Epps, Concerts with Mary J Blige and New Edition & Bobby Brown. It’s a great time of the year to be in Aruba.
There is Construction next door to the resort but honestly it was not an issue at all.
The only thing that could have been better was our Sun Wing Rep. She was not very informative nor communicated anything to us. Every vacation I’ve been on with Sun Wing the Rep usually has an information session the next morning, so you are aware of how the Restaurants work, where things are in the Hotel like the Gym or Spa. Information on best Excursions or what’s happening around the Island. How to go about Shopping. She provided no Information we had to find out this information on our own by asking other Guests The Hotel Lobby has an information board which details all the events happening in the hotel it would have been nice to know this instead of finding it a few days before we left. The service provided by Sun Wing Rep was horrible!!
Other than that, we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this Hotel for future travel.
