Playa Pesquero: Wonderful vacation place!

Whole crews are very friendly, the beach is best of all compare to other resorts nearby. Pools are very large and clean. There are many restaurants we can choose from. Our family had great experiences and fun times from the resort.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: VERY DISAPPOINTING

Terrible service, no quality Canadian food/alcohol, maid did a great job, room was quite nice, beach was terrible, grounds were badly kept, for a one year old resort, it looked 20 years old, horrible problem with bug bites, all 20 members of our group got badly bitten, a la carte food and service was good, buffet selection never changed and service was non-existent

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Dissapointing

Hotel rooms falling apart. People very nice and courteous. Rooms kept fairly clean but sliding doors locks not working properly. Food out of 10 rate a 4. internet service terrible. No value for $$$$$$ spent.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: my home away of home

this place is special for me for many years, it hurts me to see it is DECLINING... I call it a 1,5 STARZ Hotel - with 10 STARZ BEACH, & 6 STARZ People... all said... if I have to FIGHT to get a drink in the GLASS, instead of 'Plastico' - I don't like it... same goes for Cappuccino, that MUST be served in Porcelain instead of plastic :-( another BAD thing - NO EVENING PROGRAM every night, and NO ANNOUNCEMENT about it !? :-( on the POSITIVE side - the BEER ON TAP is back in the AQUA BAR,:-) a [... read more]nd in the Program area, and BRED is improving ! :-)

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Wonderful Place

This resort is amazing. It transports people back in time to horse drawn carts, little traffic and peace and serenity. The beach is wonderful with a reef to protect from sharks and other worrisome sea creatures. White sand and clear green blue waters, great for young and old. The rooms are good quality and the food is plentiful. We had no complaints.This area of Cuba offers lovely hills and countryside. We would love to return to this place. Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Wonderful once again!

We have been to this resort multiple times and we love the beach, the amazing lookout and the people who run this wonderful place. It has good food and service, without all the fuss of other resorts. This great beach is only shared by another resort and they have the nasty part of the beach while this resort has best of beach and shade and the unbelievable fossils beyond the resort bordering on the preserve area. Playa Pesquero: Wonderful relaxing time

We stayed on the Premium all adult side of this resort. Very relaxing , very clean , food and drinks excellent , staff outstanding with their service, the grounds and pool are excellant and kept spotless .The premium rooms are very large and spacious with a large balcony . Access to the main hotel provided quickly via golf cart type shuttles should you choose to go to the main hotel. The main hotel hosts the nightly shows and other restaurants if you choose to go. As Premium guests you have a [... read more]ccess to all hotel areas but main hotel guests cannot access the Premium side. Would return again in a minute!!!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Catered to adults

This is true.Food is catered to adults only. Big cockroach found in bathroom.I guess must have came out from the drainage. Went to the reception to put lights in the balcony but took almost 2 days for them to come and needed to be reminded 1x by phone. Since it is an adult resort they should put more lights along the walk way as seniors in general does not have good eyesight especially at night particularly the walkway going to the theater. Sink drainage was not properly draining and cleane [... read more]r told us when I was about to go to the reception to report ..she presented herself to report the problem but I guess she forgot to tell till I realized it was not done and reported it my self.Someone came right away after and I was glad it was done in promptu.My lesson is.... report it yourself but out of the goodness of her heart the cleaner presented herself to do it. The beach restaurant lacks choices..better to go to the main DR.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Out of date resort

Service at bars and restaurants was terrible. Servers were more concerned about cleaning tables rather than taking care of guests. It was next to impossible to get a drink refill. Rooms are old and falling apart. No lifeguards on the beach. They sat at the back row and spent all of their time on their phones. Snorkeling equipment was terrible with most masks leaking. Check in took 45 mins with a very small lineup. Lady changing money to pesos was very rude. Refused to exchange more then [... read more] 10 peso coins at one point. Does she not want us to tip?

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Good value for the money

Beautiful location and grounds, very well kept gardens. The beach is amazing. The rooms are old, especially bathrooms need major revamping. We visited this resort many times, mainly because of the beach and nice grounds. The downside this time was the construction work on the beach (new restaurant is being built). So it was noisy and smelly at times.

The resort celebrated its 21st birthday on Dec. 21, 2019.....and many of the staff have been at the resort since it was opened......this fact speaks volumes about their excellent service standard, and that of the Paradisus Rio de Oro! We have recommended the ORO to many friends.....all have been more than satisfied and impressed.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Head scratching vacation

First of all I want say we went with our best friends a had so much fun. However, our room was beyond hilarious. Apparently our bathroom door broke(who knows when) so the hotel replaced it with a shower curtain. Our toilet whistled when we flushed it. Our shower leaked every where. We had little lights as it was not the bulbs but the sockets were burned out. No fix according to the staff. Our thermostat never worked so we had cold 24 hours a day. You can not drink the tap water however you h [... read more]ave to beg for bottled water. We had none so I went to the snack bar for water and he would not give us a bottle. He said it was a different department. I have never seen so many people doing so much and getting nothing done. Their banking system is like exchanging real money for Monopoly money for a premium. Their money is useless off the Island however they charge Canadians at US rates. What a rip off. Plus make sure you have your Passport to get pesos, get an attitude and all you want to do is get money to tip the workers. Their airports are so backward it is head scratching. It took us an hour and and half just to check our luggage. The people are great however they have no chance as they work long hours, make little money, have no resources to solve our problems and have no hope. Will never go back. Kissed the ground when we arrived in cold Canada.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Save your money!

This resort was the worst I had ever been to.It was definitely not a 4 star maybe a 21/2. No friut, vegetables or milk. Food was not edible ,I ran to the bathroom after every meal no joke! I'm not a picky eater either. Drinks were gross, water had mold in it from dispensers. Mold in shower and on lounge chairs at pool. Dead crabs in pool tiles missing. I was so disappointed. Now the beach was good, snorkeling was amazing. I would never ever go back.

Playa Pesquero: bit of a let down

we have been 6 times to this resort, and we see it continue to drop in all areas except the staff, thats why we love this resort.All areas of food quality down with most short of major supplies, other resorts no problem, here theres a problem, i believe a lot has to with current management, plus embargo spells disaster.bananas that they grow there almost non exsistance? no embargo there, untill they get new leadership there i believe it to continue togo down hill, Beer garden always had early mo [... read more]rning breakfast, no more, over in grill were it took us 20 minutes just to get coffee, another 30 minutes to get our eggs [COLD} and raw bacon, in beer garden you would have your complete meal and gone in 20 minutes, i could go on for hours but i wont, we are thinking to go else were ,but we truly love the staff and freinds that we have met, you cant blame workers for these changes i blame this poor management""

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Better than ever!

This is a true 5 star resort in Cuba, the best hotel we have stayed at in Cuba. The food is amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the spa is a great! We will be back for sure. They have great service and good entertainment.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautifull Beach !!

Great resort, our 6th visit there, friendly staff, awesome beach, grounds were beautiful, buffet not too bad, the other restaurants were great especially the Italian, you never have to walk too far to get anywhere, more steps to the beach on the Mares side, we prefer the Luna side. The only negative comment would be the rude behavior of the Eastern Europeans, it was a real turnoff, may be a factor if we return.

Playa Pesquero: Very very good resort!

One of the cleanest resorts we have been to, although only at half capacity. The food was very good everywhere especially the a la cart restaurants. The roasted pig outdoors was a feast as well. We loved the beach and did some great snorkeling every day. The pool is massive with plenty of loungers. Service was great everywhere. Room was a bit worn but clean and neat. The resort is very big so be prepared to walk alot or wait for the golf carts going around. Resort is 16 years old and could use a [... read more] bit of maintenance here and there but overall a great place to go.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Very nice

Been here 6 times. Dining room and restaurants are above average and the entertainment and service is good. Quite a few rooms being renovated - elevators ( 2 of 3) not working, dark hallways. The beach is great with managed chairs and a nice bar that serves lunch. As always, the staff was amazing and went out of their way for everybody.
