Starfish Cayo Guillermo: The people are amazing

I arrived quite late and the buffet was closed the person at concierge gave me a cold plate, which I was very appreciative of and then drove me to my room in a golf cart. I knew not to expect a lavish room, but was a pleasant room, with a little gecko greeting me. I was so excited to finally arrive, being this my very 1st vacation ever, woke up to a beautiful sunrise with a cup of coffee. I heard from many people not to expect an over the top menu at the buffet. breakfast was okay. The [... read more] hotplate area the food was not has warm, and I learned that the best item to eat was an omelet; butter is scarce so grab it while you can for your toast. Lunch & supper on the other hand was spectacular, and I highly recommend the fresh fish and lamb. The servers, Kenny, Oscar, Danier, sorry if I forgot someone's name are there to welcome you with a big smile, and when they get to know you with a big hug. The Ala Cart was amazing, which I had 2 ala carts with my stay I did have a situation with my room, Carlos was quick to fix all, with the help of Google translate we understood one another. Oh can't forgot the charmer Enrique always ready to help lol The beaches, OMG!!, are out of a story book. Everyone at the 24/7 bar. Elvis, Daniella, unfortunately I can't remember all their names were very quick to remind me that I am on vacation & need to relax. All were warm and welcoming. Aida, who was the most kind & wonderful woman that took care of my room always greeted me with the biggest smile & hug. In conclusion the resort is not a 5 star, but the people who work there are!

Blau Varadero: Great place

highly recommend! the food was not good, but thats to be expected, everything else was fabulous, the coffee, the drinks, the beach, the pool, i recommend you bring your own thermos for the drinks. when i went in feb 2025, they did not have shortages of anything. the ice was fine to drink for us. we didnt get sick from any food we ate, it was just not good (i did stick to the basics though). we brought many snacks and ate them all lol. the best thing was the eggs in the morning. pancakes, fries a [... read more]nd pasta were okay too. everyone was super nice as well, it was a great experience.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: First timer

I was alittle skeptical about trying another resort, I’ve been a Kawama repeater for numerous years. However I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The food was good, flavourful and you won’t go hungry. The pool was clean and plenty of seating. However I don’t recommend a room over the patio, bar. It gets noisy. All the maids were wonderful very thankful for gifts. The bartenders are great, and the Coffee is great. All in all I will return again this September 2025.

Paradisus Varadero: Loin d’un 5 étoiles mais superbe plage

Voici notre honnête avis sur le Paradisus Varadero. Nous connaissons bien Cuba — il s’agit de notre troisième voyage en deux ans — et malheureusement, cet hôtel nous a plutôt déçus. Les points positifs : La plage est tout simplement magnifique. C’est le vrai point fort de notre séjour. Il y avait amplement de chaises longues et de palapas, donc aucune nécessité de se lever tôt pour réserver sa place. Un vrai plus! Mais pour le reste… - Pas d’eau chaude pour se doucher pendant plusieurs j [... read more]ours. - Aucune bouteille d’eau dans la chambre, même après plusieurs demandes. Le frigo est resté vide. - Nos amis ont reçu deux bières à leur arrivée, mais après le ménage, il n’en restait qu’une. - Au snack bar, l’unique option disponible pendant longtemps était un sandwich jambon-fromage… car le grill manquait de gaz pour la cuisson de d’autre chose. - Le buffet principal était fermé jusqu’au 4 avril. L’unique buffet accessible pour tout le resort était très petit et avec très peu de choix. Côté chambre : Nous n’avions pas d’air climatisé, et on nous a dit qu’aucune chambre n’en avait, ce qui est difficile à croire vu le faible taux d’occupation. Heureusement, grâce à l’aide remarquable d’Idelys, nous avons été relogés dans la section « Réserve » où les chambres étaient climatisées, avec eau chaude et bien mieux équipées. L’ouverture du grand buffet à la mi-séjour a permis un peu plus de variété alimentaire (nous avons vu du poulet et du bœuf pour la première fois!). Cela dit, la nourriture reste très limitée et souvent froide, même en tenant compte des défis d’approvisionnement à Cuba. Départ : Notre vol étant en soirée, nous avions demandé une chambre de courtoisie pour nous rafraîchir. Malheureusement, il n’y avait aucune eau qui coulait – ni pour la douche, ni au robinet – même après une heure d’attente. Nous avons dû partir à l’aéroport sans pouvoir nous laver. Conclusion : Malgré la beauté naturelle du site, cet hôtel ne correspond pas du tout aux standards d’un 5 étoiles. Certaines équipes sur place font de leur mieux (merci encore à Idelys!), mais le manque de services de base nuit énormément à l’expérience. Nous ne reviendrons malheureusement pas.

Sol Cayo Coco: Absolutely no negative remarks about this resort. Three visits and going again.

Staff without a doubt the best anywhere. They treat you like family. Have made lasting friendships with staff and wish I could see them more often. Will be returning next year if all goes well! Thank you all at the SOL.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Waste of money

Never go again. This is not a 4 star resort. Does not accommodate to handicapped People. No phone service in room. Internet was poor and had to log in every day. I would not recommend this resort but this is my opinion.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: A hidden gem

I recently came back from one week vocation in Holguín Cuba at Paradisus Rio di Oro. By far this was the best resort in Cuba not only for the beautiful surroundings and the beach but especially for the excellent service and the amazing people who made every single moment memorable. Thank you for making this trip unique and unforgettable. I can’t thank you enough and looking forward to come back soon.

Melia Internacional: Amazing resort we loved it

Whatever I say about this hotel is not enough, THIS IS AMAZING. Staff are so friendly and kind. Food was excellent no shortage at all. Rooms were clean and pools were well maintained.. beach was absolutely gorgeous ?

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Great resort not only for Cuba.

New resort. No complaints. All equipments working. Beach and pool super. Very close to airport - bus 30 min. For Cuba food good. Good choice drinks from fresh fruits. Performances good - inside in lobby. Big plus this resort - coffee bar. Menu coffee - super.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Terrible experience!

Im shocked at the positive reviews. We found the food disgusting. You have to go to the grilling stations and get something fresh, buffet is cold and lots of flies. No specialty restaurants, they all serve the same meal. Not much else for food options. The beach has a Food shack and there is one by the pool. They serve a sandwich only, nothing else and seating by the beach is pretty decrepit and dirty. Pool was dirty and lots of algae, tiles missing everywhere. Never once saw it cleaned  [... read more]or chemicals added. No toilet paper ever in public bathrooms, sometimes not even a seat. Cold water in our room for three days until we asked to move, which they did. Ran out of beer and rum and vodka all the time, though bartenders are selling bottles under the table then they water down the rest to make it last the day Property is old and dated and steps, stairs and railings lose and dangerous. Positive - our room was clean always and the butlers were all very good, especially Jose who went above and beyond.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Very Enjoyable

The hotel was very nice and the grounds were very well kept, there was always people working and cleaning. The maids did a good job of looking after the rooms. I’m not a fussy eater so I was always able to find something to eat. Sunwing put on a dinner for the guests, nice touch. The hotel staff at check-in were extremely friendly and polite. Jose and Andrea were wonderful to us. Will I return, probably !

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful resort

My sixth time staying at this resort and it still is beautiful. Check in was easy and our room was just right for what we needed. Food was ok and the a la carte restaurants were just right and offered a better choice than the buffet. All in all you won't starve but you can't expect what you get at home as there is limited supply of food choices. Beach has seen better days as it was wiped out a bit by the last hurricane I was told in October. You can still swim in the water but be prepar [... read more]ed for coral and have water shoes. If you want a bit to the left there is a more clearer path to get into the water. Overall it is still beautiful and the turquoise water is amazing to look at. Drinks were also a hit and miss at one bar they had some drinks while others they ran out. Coffee was the best at the new outdoor coffee bar by the hotel entrance. Workers at the resort were always smiling and friiendly. Lady at the coffee bar Lobby was an amazing barista, Albertadino accomodated us for the Thursday night party at Hemingway Plaza, Johhny in entertainment was a blast and the list goes on for staff that went out of the way for guests. My only negative is that the sand flies or noseeums ate me alive and I was bombarded by bug bites on my legs and arms.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Favourite Resort

This was our second visit in 2025 and our 10th visit to the Memories Caribe. We booked a Premium Lakeview room on the top floor. We were assigned building 24. We had hot water every day and everything worked fine in the room. The resort is older and the rooms could be renovated, but they are clean and comfortable. FOOD: great variety. Beach snack bar and BBQ were great. BEACH: absolutely gorgeous with crystal clear water and clean white sand. You can walk for miles in either direction. Walking on the sandbars at low tide is such an wonderful experience. STAFF: very friendly and helpful We will definitely return to the Memories Caribe in the future.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful week

We stayed in the adult section for one week. We had no complaints!! Great value, the food was good, the pool, our room and the grounds were clean. Lots of hot water for showers, our mini fridge was replenished every day and we had toilet paper! The snorkeling was amazing! Our room key gave us some trouble but staff were quick to help.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Third time to Ensenachos.

Return visit. amazing beaches and a good area for snorkeling off the beach. Room was great and clean. Buffet under renovations so food selection not as good as before but sure it will be better when work is done . A la cartes were good except only one selection at all of them for dessert and that was flan. not my favourite.. Nice to see the Canadian flag displayed around the resort and the best part is the wonderful Cuban people!!

Hotel Playa Coco: Beautiful resort!

We recently returned from our 13th stay at Playa Coco! Beautiful hotel ,gardeners work so hard to keep the grounds so nice and very clean . All the staff are amazing they go out of their way to make sure you are taken care off. No shortages of anything from food to drinks to toilet paper lol ! Lots of hot water except for two days for a period of time but no big deal ! Maybe for us the only small negative was entertainment, new group and not as well received as previous dancers and animation tea [... read more]m but hopefully will improve. Excellent hotel!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: good resort

we had a main floor suite in building #2 with a fabulous ocean view. Ample hot water, AC working throughout our stay, excellent maid service and daily supply of water pop and beer. Food was adequate although repetative. Bread, butter and eggs/bacon every day. Although we had booked Premium , we found no real advantage. Premium drinks were limited, premium breakfast and lunch was inferior to the buffet although in a more relaxed atmosphere. Service was great. Highly recommend him.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Excellent experience

14 day stay at Sanctuary. Check in was ok but arrived late so not much intro the resort. 1st room was ok but as we were there for 14 days we looked at upgrading to a room with a king bed. Best thing we ever did as our room was amazing overlooking the pool. If you have just the right amount of beer you don’t hear the party animals outside. No power outages, no food shortages and always cold beer hot water and toilet paper. The pool bar staff Roxana Fiallo , Judi, Jude were always very friendly and helpful so will miss them. The only annoying part was listening to people whining about things that are not to their expectations picking the most affordable getaway and those that stuff their plate and then leave half of it behind. Skipped the bus back to the airport and took a 1952 Ford convertible with Alex, amazing! Would definitely go back to this resort.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort

This resort is beautiful and they keep the grounds, pools, etc spotless. The beach is incredible and always lots of palapas and chairs. The pools are gorgeous too, with many loungers. The staff is attentive and friendly. They appreciate anything you do for them as well.
