Riu Palace Jamaica: Loved every minute

This resort has it all it's a quite resort but it has night life till 11 and if you want to carry on the party you can go to the 2 resort beside them, it's a bonus to staying here they can't come to yours but you can eat and play at there's...the food is also amazing, lots of variety even for the pickiest of people, rooms are nicely decorated in white and purple huge showers and a jetted tub...the absolute best part is the staff from Dr. Phil for breakfast and lunch to Paul at the aqua bar at ni [... read more]ght. This has been my second time at this resort and it won't be my last.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Not a 5 Star

Just returned from a week at the Royalton White Sands, this is an in depth and honest review of the “5 star” hotel. 1. Rooms - the rooms are small - we paid for an ocean view and ended up looking at the water coolers and back of buffet, very noisy and we couldn’t use our balcony which my husband loved having a drink while I am getting ready for dinner. Half way through our vacation they moved us to an ocean view, much better although lived out of suitcases all week because it wasn†[... read more]™t worth unpacking for a few days. - we got our king bed, it was pretty comfortable, I think there may have been a comforter on it to make it soft (quite a few people got 2 singles pushed together) - there was a door to an adjoining room, it was a single door and you could hear people in the next room, at night you could see the light in that room so needless to say it was just like a door in your home, at 3:30 when our neighbours came back to room to party we couldn’t sleep. - the bathrooms were tiny, only 1 person could be in there, a large shower but ceiling and walls were in rough shape, they just painted over peeling walls to try and fix, my shower was quick and I tried not to look at the dirty looking corners. - they offer basic toiletries, better than nothing. - our A/C worked good, I heard others had problems. - frig was stocked with a couple beers, some pop and water. 2. Pool & Beach - 3 pools, 1 adult only with a swim-up bar, it was pretty cloudy and slimy on top, not sure if something was broken. The other 2 pools were very clean and clear. The pools are cool but always feels good when you get overheated. - people are up early reserving loungers, or we found they were tipping staff to reserve for them. Not enough loungers around the pools, and not enough shade, only a few umbrellas. - There were more loungers by the beach and more shade with the grass umbrellas. - Employees were raking the beach every morning to try and keep it clean. It was very windy the week we were there and one day a lot of seaweed came in and lingered in the shallow water, once past that it was sandy. - Towels were a free for all, you could take as many as you want at any time so as you can imagine by later in the afternoon there were no clean ones available. - Early in the morning before the LOUD music started you could hear the traffic a bit on the nearby road. - Their were always servers around the pool wanting to get you drinks. - The entertainment team had a few activities to keep people busy, I wish the music they always had around the pool wasn’t so loud all the time. 3. Food & Drinks - the drinks were sweet as in most resorts - no lemons or limes to be seen, just premade lemon syrup - alcohol was cheap, I could have upgraded to Diamond Club, just for drinks it was going to be $30 US/person/day, and we are Canadian so add another 33 percent on that, it wasn’t worth it. Note: for Diamond Club with a butler it was $75 US/person/day, but that was booked up. The wine was better than what we get in Dominican. - Coffee shop only open at 7am so a lot of people were waiting around in the morning to get a coffee, no where else to get one before that. - buffet had a lot of selection, if not made to order for you, food was only warm even when we were first to arrive. It was pretty much the same every day though, we alway enjoy resorts that do theme nights so you are eating something different every night. - A-la-carte restaurants, The Zen was fun, it was more enteretainment from the chefs, food was good, steak was very tough. Jade was very good, our favorite, and food always hot. Hunter, the steakhouse, dissappointed here for the time we spent waiting. Warmish french onion soup, all broth and a piece of bread and cheese thrown in not cooked on top. Steak was overdone. 4. Resort overall - We were told the resort is 60 years old and it shows it, it was very run down, first look seemed OK, but closer look it needs a major renovation - I don’t think we ever really saw people cleaning the resort, usually any resorts we go to they are constantly cleaning and touching up the resort - There is a newer resort beside them they own, Blue Waters, it looks much newer but we were told you had to get the butler service with that, it’s not something we ever want. - Wings A & C are the oceanview rooms, Wing B looked out back and Wing D which we started at looked at all the water towers and back of buffet and it was very noisy. - Beware that your room may have the adjoining door to another room and it’s noisy - We found the weekend we arrived and end of week we left they offer Day Passes to locals, the resort is so small as it is and took long enough to get a drink this just made it even more frustrating Finally, we have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this is definitely does not qualify. Even though we started out disappointed with our room we made the best of our week. Only our second time to Jamaica, we hope to go back but will pay a bit more for a better hotel, maybe back to the Hyatt which is a true 5 star. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone with the expectations of a 5 star

Riu Negril: Absolutely Amazing

The resort was absolutely beautiful, the staff were phenomenal, activities for everyone of all ages. The food at the buffet outstanding and the restaurants. Everyone from the staff ensured we felt secure and safe at all times. A must and we are coming back most definitely with our family. Thank you! Slice of heaven.

Excellence Oyster Bay: Impeccable service

We stayed at the hotel in February 2020 in the excellence club ocean front junior suite it was located in the main building which was super convenient. The room was extremely spacious, it had a walk in closet double sinks walk in shower. the view from the bed overlooks the ocean on our patio we had 2 day beds and an extremely large Jacuzzi tub along with two Muskoka chairs. The restaurants were amazing each and everyone of them the food was first class and the friendly staff and service was ama [... read more]zing. The loungers were plentiful by the pool and the beach never had to worry about getting a space. the towels were unlimited and no wristbands were required no beach vendors. The entertainment was great they actually had singers instead of lip-syncing. 24 hour room service and an amazing selection of breakfast lunch and dinner items even late night snacks. We loved everything about this hotel!

Beachcomber Club: Our Second Home!

We have just returned from another great two week vacation at Beachcomber Resort in Negril - this was our 6th visit in the past 9 years! This resort is perfect for us as it is has a large, great (we think the best) beach on Seven Mile Beach, it is small so never busy or line ups, the staff is great and are probably one of the main reasons we return year after year. Ocean Coral Spring: Wait a little while

The resort will be very nice when It is completed, currently I would rate it as a 3.5 star as it is still in the very early stages of being ready for guest. The food was very delicious but limited in variety for now. The workmanship in the rooms and buildings need to be cleaned up and it is sloppy. The pool is gorgeous. The beach is beautiful although it’s not ideal yet for swimming. The massages were great but very expensive for the 80 minutes that you get. The employees were very nice and tried to be accommodating, but being so newly trained they didn’t seem to have the answers to questions as simple as making a reservation for dinner. You are told you don’t need a reservation but yet when you go to a restaurant you are told you have to wait 45 minutes to an hour. One reason was the privilege guest take priority and you are set to the side to wait. All in all out of ten I would rate this so far a 7. It was unanimous with the group I travelled with was we wouldn’t return to this resort, but it was definitely worth visiting while the price was fairly decent.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Wonderful resort!

We just stayed at iberostar rose hall suites for the second time and weren’t disappointed. Large rooms, immaculate grounds, friendly service, lovely kid’s club, good food, great beach, always lounge chairs available, entertainment, no issues at all. Highly recommend for a relaxing holiday.

Very clean and well kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food at the buffet was great with a lot of choices also at restaurants was amazing food and drinks. Will go back to Jamaica at the iberostar rose hall suites. Beautiful

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Don't expect a 5 star resort but overall good experience

In the main lobby the resort posts 5 stars but the resort itself is not a 5 star. Like many other reviews state the resort is dated and in need of some TLC. Also very close to main highway, lots of noise from air brakes on trucks. We could fill a page with things wrong or broken in our room. The resort actually prevented chair reserving at the pool which was great, but often a struggle at the beach. Kid water park and play area of main pool often closed due to incidents. Staff are wonderfu [... read more]l despite a very busy and crowded resort. The kids entertainment and evening shows are nothing to stay up for. The food in good but lacks variety day to day. The cost of the resort represents the lower star level required. It was a good vacation but I would not return to this resort.

Riu Ocho Rios: fantastic resort

very nice resort ,staff were very friendly, well maintained and easy to find your way around the resort , very nice beach with lots of lounge chairs available , food was very good at all dining locations , bar staff very friendly and eager to serve you , room was well maintained and cleaning staff did a good job room was always cleaned when we returned in the afternoon .

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Nice!

Great food, friendly helpful staff and nice facilities! I would go back tomorrow. Very good area for snorkeling too. Large resort so lots of walking! Free wifi is a bonus and works well enough for most people.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Great time as always

This was our 6th visit to the Palladium and we had a great time as always. Staff are friendly, food was good, and grounds were very well maintained. Stayed for 10 days, want to do longer next time. Highly recommended.

Riu Negril: Amazing trip

The rooms were clean and very nice. The grounds were kept well maintained. The food was great and always available somewhere on the resort. The pools were clean and perfect temperatures. The beach was fun to walk and see all the different fish and underwater life. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely go back to that resort again

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Overall excellent

The food is great and plentiful and has lots of variety. The yoga/exercise class at 0730 each day by Owen Ellis is fantastic and he really helps to start your day well. The communication between staff is not the best if there is a problem to resolve but patience and perseverance usually works. The daily room cleaning and nightly turn down was missed sometimes as I think they are understaffed in that area.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Overall a terrific stay!

Good: Decor and layout fabulous and timeless. While the resort is older, it has been designed with great taste.The a la carte dining was great, the buffet had great variety and was good. Activities and music great. Cappuccinos fabulous! Selection of included alcoholic beverages good. Great for family or adult vacations. Loved walking the resort and the beach. Much to see and do each day. Lots of room to have space or be social as desired. Overall a wonderful place to vacation! Missing it already!

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Beautiful Resort

I was there first week of Feburary 2020 Hotel room, sheet/towels were very clean, staff is very nice, food is delicious, beach and pool area is amazing - well kept. My only problem was the closet door in my room was not sliding back and forward - need some one to fix the track - I have mentioned to the front desk every morning and no one came to fix it. Hopefully it is fixed by now.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: The Lady Hamilton is not just a resort. It is a hidden jewel in paradise.

This resort caters to all ages with activities, a pleasant mix of international cuisine and overall Jamaican charm. The staff was amazing. The blend of travellers from all over the world reflect the warm environment we experienced (again)! The clean, spacious suites were impressive, the overall maintenance of the resort was noticeable. Manicured grounds and diversity of flora and fauna were well mixed. The beaches are very well attended every day and provide an intimate setting for enjoyment. There is no singular event or activity that would stand out because the overall experience, from start to finish, was impressive and completely satisfying.

Riu Reggae: Riu Reggae, Jamaica

We have to say that we had a fantastic stay at Riu Reggae. The room was very clean and was as we requested, king size bed, top floor, very quiet area. Our room was always tended to daily with perfection. The staff were wonderful starting with the morning buffet, to the lunch and then to dinner. Also, the bartenders were always amiable. The food was kept in an air conditioned area with accessible doors which kept out the elements outside. There certainly was a lot to choose from in the buffets. You have no excuse to leave hungry! Overall, we have to say that Riu Reggae was certainly a good choice and have to thank Wendy at Trip Central for helping us make our choice! Riu Reggae: Great Resort

The resort Very clean and well kept resort. Rooms were very nice, clean and enjoyed the mini fridge. The staff were all very friendly. The Entertainment was excellent. Great shows. The entertainment team is Very talented. Food was really good. Enjoyed buffet and restaurant. Nice no lines up for restaurants If you like early dinner. I would have liked to have plantain.
