Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Comfortable, friendly resort

The staff were friendly, the grounds were clean, the pool was clean, food was good (for Cuba) Lots of choices for meals. Hop on Hop off bus, close by, convenient. Great atmosphere. Shuttle services to the sanctuary section could have been better. It was extremely hot and humid and after a long day on an excursion, a ride back to sanctuary would have been nice. Shuttle services didn't always go to sanctuary but to the family side of the resort. One driver was irritated and not very friends that w [... read more]e asked for a ride. Which, in Cuba is unusual.

Memories Jibacoa: Vacation

Staff was friendly and helpful. Beach was beautiful and snorkelling is absolutely amazing. The food was good and the a la cart restaurants are very tasty. The main buffet is good but very warm and needs air conditioning. Rooms are very clean but dated.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: My Happy Place

My wife and I just love this resort , it is our 6th time to Sanctuary at the Grand Memories and plan on going again . We so enjoy meeting all the very friendly staff from the moment you arrive to when you leave they are terrific. The Butlers are amazing they will do all your dinner arrangements all we have to do is relax . the waitress remember you name and the Bartenders know your favourite drink . It is very relaxing no stress, a true vacation.

Grand Memories Punta Cana: Great value vacances

We stayed 9 days at Memories on august 5-14th. The arrival was smooth and it took us only 20 min drive from airport to the resort. All the way from airport and during the stay at the resort we have easy access to the Internet via WiFi. When we arrived at the resort personnel was very friendly and welcoming. We arrived at 13:00 around and the rooms were not ready yet, but we knew that ahead and were prepared to take advantage of the day to the beach anyway. The air-conditioning works very well, efficiently and practically no noise. Beds are confortable and cleaned every day from the maid. Very kind personnel. The beach is in working distance from the Memories buildings, but there is trollies every 3minutes passing by. Beach area us a little small but if you like walking alongside the beach it is very easy accessible. The food is very good and there are buffets one on the beach and another close to rooms (lobby). There is a good variety of foods in both buffets and three are three restaurants without reservation every night. It was our best stay in domenican so far

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Awesome Fun Resort

Over all I think the resort (Grand Memories) is an excellent example of Cuban culture and Tourism. There were a few hiccups the first day but nothing major. Our stay started with our room not being ready until 5:00pm that was a bit disappointing but staff accommodated us with a locked storage room for our belongings. Our toilet would not flush the second day and it took several hours to get it repaired. Staff were very apologetic and did try to assist us. We enjoyed the nightly shows so much we stayed and joined in on the late night dance party.Staff would remember our names after being told one time and also were happy to assist when we had questions to do with the resort.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Fantastic Resort and Staff

It was our 25th Anniversary trip and the staff at Sanctuary made it fantastic. We arrived on August 2nd to find that our room had been upgraded to a suite with doors that opened onto the adults only pool. We loved the adults lounge, restaurant, pool bar and WOW!!!! is all I can say about the Beach.....We did try and enjoy 3 of the a la Carte's ( Oriental, Italian & Gourmet) with the Oriental being our favorite. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fabulous beach

Best beach I have ever been to and I have been to many. Friendly staff, clean rooms and fabulous weather. You can't ask for more. Often people complain about the food but if they want gourmet Cuba is not for them. You can have gourmet at home. We never went hungry and if you are not too finicky you will always find something to your taste. If you go for the beach, all the cuban beaches are paradise. You eill never be disappointed.

Sol Turquesa Beach: A good time had!

Overall very good. We went in late August early July. The resort wasn't very full,except for the weekends when there was an influx of Cubans. The room was quite large, the water always worked, nice balcony, only the bed was a little lacking. The food was good at the buffet and usually there were no lines, a lot of options. In the snack bars the options were limited usually to hot dogs and sandwiches. Good bars, I preferred the lobby bar. The pools are great and so is the beach. The beach is shal [... read more]low, and there is sea grass. But the water nice and warm. Snorkeled a bit, not too many fish close to the shore. The service was good, the hotel is quiet located by itself. Overall happy! Sidenote: A lot of toads. My girlfriend has a phobia. And not ever night but a lot, a toad would climb three sets of stairs to terrorize her. It was a bit amusing for me, not her though.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

The hotel was great. Besides little features of missing items. But this time only happened once. Our beach towels were available upon arrival in our hotel room. The excursions were the best as well. The staff were friendly and made funny jokes. They were inviting and just great overall. Thank you

Sol Turquesa Beach: NOT a 4 star!!!!

We went during low season and it was terrible! The first few days our maid did not properly clean, the new one who came on for the last few days named Claudia was fantastic however. Claudia cleaned our room properly and was a real gem, I just wish she had been our maid the whole week! I hurt my ankle right before we left for the trip (not the resort's fault), and while sometimes I could get a golf cart to take me to my room, it really depended on who was driving! Which it shouldn't have  [... read more]in the least. Some drivers were accommodating and helpful, others weren't. There were multiple pools, all of which were cleaned everyday at 6pm, which on the one hand was great because they were cleaned and chlorinated every single day, the not so great part was that they couldn't be used after 6pm every day. Lots of sand fleas at the beach (which is typical for allot of beaches, just make sure you bring bug spray with you, which we did and it worked well to keep the bites to a minimum). There are tiny reddish ants that one should also be careful about as their bite burns more then a tattoo! Not sure what repels them, as our bug spray didn't, so we just looked before we sat anywhere and always wore shoes (even in our hotel room as they were in there too). It's 20CUC per person to take a bus into the town from the resort and there is nothing other than the resort within walking distance. The only phenomenal part was an excursion we booked to see the archaeological site. We had a gentleman named Alehandro and he was AMAZING! He went above and beyond the entire tour, I truly couldn't have asked for better! Thankfully he told us on our tour that none of the spiders in Cuba were deadly so I wasn't AS terrified when I came across a tarantula the size of a grown man's hand on the path at the resort a few evenings later, I just carefully went around it. I'm a simple eater, certainly not a foodie and typically happy with rice or beans or lentils, any kind of vegetable and some form of meat. However even I had trouble finding food to eat, as the buffet was HORRIBLE! I've been to Cuba multiple times, I bring my own condiments and like I said I have simple tastes, but this place was appalling! Meat, shellfish and fish should be kept either hot or cold, but they'd just leave everything out and it'd be tepid. The scrambled eggs in the morning were runny and I found egg shells in them (while eating them). Milk and yogurt were left in jugs on the buffet line with nothing to keep them cool so they didn't spoil. The a la carte restaurants had menus, but weren't able to follow them as they ran out of ingredients like tomatoes (not kidding, one of the starters was tomato slices, cheese and meat, and we were told they were all out of tomatoes. Everyone we travelled with was super sick (we returned Tuesday afternoon, and as of Thursday night their still suffering with stomach issues). Since 3 of the travellers didn't drink at all, and we were careful about heat and sun it wasn't from any of those reasons, which only leaves some form of contagious illness or bad food... They constantly ran out of foods at the snack and beach bars, and the snack bar that was advertised as being open 24hours, only the bar part was, NOT the food part. One day my son and daughter fell asleep after being at the beach for the afternoon and we missed the dinner buffet, I went to get them a snack when they woke up at 10pm and I was told all the kitchens on the resort were closed and we'd have to wait till morning to get them even a piece of fruit. To have absolutely NO options not even a store I could buy them something at and to have to sit with 2 small, hungry children for a night was NOT okay! I will NEVER EVER RETURN!!!!!!

Grand Memories Varadero: Worst HOTEL Ever In Varadero!

Absolutely the worst Hotel we have ever stayed in in Cuba! They ran out of Food at 4:00pm. They also ran out of Beer, Chicken and Fish! The French Fries never existed! The Service was horrible. The Rooms were also horrible. Everyday there was a Power Failure for at least 40 minutes or so. So NO A/C and NO LUGHTS! The Hit Water was also a big issue. Sol Turquesa Beach: Beautiful, Massive Resort!

This is a beautiful Resort! If you like the water, then look no more! Many pools and Ocean to swim in. Rooms are clean and nice. The entertainment was pretty good to watch and fun, if you participate. Food is your average Cuban bland food. My only complaint would be to put some ceiling fans in the lobby and buffet! Too hot without fans or A.C..

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Good

Everything are good except the food. Everyday food is same. The best restaurant is under the sea. the others are not good. The room condition is good but sometimes we got the really bad smells.Room service is fast.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Second Stay

We traveled in a group of seven people (incl 2 seniors and 2 kids) the week of July 29th. The overall experience was good. We kind of knew what to expect of the resort as this was our second stay (1st in April of 2018)... this time however, there were few hiccups. The bad: - no beach towels in the room - got 3 out of 4 after the third request (if you run into any issues, go straight to the front desk, phone requests get ignored). - cockroach in a bathroom in one of our rooms welcomed us on th [... read more]e first day. Got rid of it by ourselves, but left light on 24/7 in a bathroom as apparently they like to come out when it's dark. - no hot or even warm water for the first two days, after that no problem whatsoever. - big problem with ants! in the bathroom and room. Our cleaning lady had to put a blanket one day on the floor and then back on the bed as we had plenty of then in the blanket and bed. Once again, had to take care of things by ourselves. - in general staff in the resort is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, I can not say same about our cleaning lady or the staff at the front desk. Someone put them on the job as a punishment, can't think of any other explanation. - flies in the buffet! not sure if there is anything that could be done about it though...? - no flour (bread, pancakes, pizza) on the resort for 4 out of 7 days of our stay. Not exactly a resort issue I guess, thought I would mention as this might be an issue for some. The GOOD: - BEACH! This beach is everything we travel to Cuba for. 3rd time to Cayo Coco, 2nd in this resort. Would go back again just for the beach :) - very good night entertainment / shows. Can't say much about pool staff as we spend minimum time there and only in the evening. - pool was clean - no problem with AC in our rooms - food and drinks were fine - interestingly, male waitresses were awesome, 90% of female waitresses apparently did not like their jobs. Sorry ladies. The resort definitely needs some improvement in management but overall great vacation. Solid 4*

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: A bit quiet but a great vacation

The grounds are beautifully kept. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The shower leaked under the door. The staff are great, friendly and helpful. The entertainment was ok, there needs to be more entertainment staff for a resort this size. The food was very good, always a variety. The sanctuary side was lovely and the no kids rule was strictly enforced there. As always, the beach was amazing.

Outstanding service from time of arrival to time of departure. The food was great and plentiful. The resort was well maintained and our bungalow was only a few minutes away from the beach. The maids did a fabulous job every day and all the staff were very friendly.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Could be better

Hotel is definitely not luxurious. Pool area had moldy, smelly puddles that were not being cleaned properly. People smoked in the pool regardless of whether babies were there or not. Food is ok. Staff is amazing

This is a very nice property. Facility is small but has all you need. Food is great. Service in its own restaurants is excellent. Beach is beautiful. Room is big and clean. Swimming pool is good size but lacks a swim up bar. Lounge bar is excellent.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Hotel was ok!

Hotel is old, the main pool was green all week. the beach was amazing no seaweeds. beautiful weather Diamond club is a must. you have your own private beach section with bar. no need to reserve early morning. chairs were always available . the buffet no need to wait in line. plus sitting in A/C dinning room access to good type of drinks. access to 4 restaurants instead of 2. the best one being Japonese. atmosphere was good. lobby was fun. good music it a big resort not enough carts that go a [... read more]round. one day most of the hotel was missing plastic cups.

The resort has everything! Great staff, clean, amazing beaches, everyone was very accommodating! Great choices for restaurants and there was always available everywhere we went! Would definitely go Back!
