Occidental Punta Cana: Awesome resort!

This is our 2nd time to visit the Occidental, and our experience was wonderful, and we will return again. We stayed in building 23 on the 2nd floor, and although we heard a few complaints from some in other buildings, ours was wonderful. The room and balcony were beautiful, and the mini fridge was restocked daily, plenty of bottled water, and our housekeeper was amazing, and kept everything very clean. The bathroom could use updating, as the water from the shower would leak onto the floor, no ma [... read more]tter how careful you were, but that would be the only complaint I would have about the room. I found the king size bed, very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, the food is amazing, in the buffets and at the a la' cartes. The beach is beautiful white sand, and kept very clean. (the only thing, I might suggest, as we went on the Transat preference club and were supposed to have a section of the beach specifically for this club, would be to have the area marked off better. We could never get a place under one of the huts as it was always reserved by people who shouldn't have been there, different color arm bands. They would reserve with their towels early in the morning, and maybe not even get to the beach until late afternoon. We were told at our orientation, to let security know if this happened, however, we really felt it was honest mistakes by them, as it wasn't well marked, and didn't want to embarrass them. A rope dividing to closer to the beach with a better sign would have prevented this). The night shows were a great improvement, over last years, even having an early live show for the children, very much enjoyed. The staff, everywhere, were very friendly, happy and pleasant. Truly a pleasure to interact with them. I couldn't have enjoyed our stay, any more then we all did.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: nice resort

We went in April and there were a lot of people. Beach was crowded but nice and clean. Food was good service was ok. The rooms were a little bit small for a family of four. Overall we had a good time even though the weather was not perfect.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Nice Resort

We liked the hotel.The grounds were beautifully maintained.The restaurants were extremely nice,although the service in the main buffet restaurant was seriously below standards .We loved the beach restaurant ! Staff there were very attentive.During our stay they removed the wicker tables and chairs and painted them white.It smelled absolutely horrible during the last few days of our stay.The entertainment was also not the best. We loved the beach and the food and our room.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Excellent vacation

Food was good and plentyful. Impossible to go hungry. Staff were very helpful and eager to please you. Our first time to this hotel but far from our last. This place is kept spotless if a leaf falls out of a tree someone is there to pick it up. This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star food and service

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: High Energy

The resort was great! Everyone was very helpful and it was high energy. The resort was a bit older but the workers made up for it. There was always activities happening and they got every to participate and have a good time.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Relaxing Resort

We stayed April17-24th weather was over cast most days and heavy rain 4 nights.The grounds were very clean and cleaned everyday. The beach was clean, lots of seaweed, however we had rough seas the first 4 days. The breakers in the water are less to be desired to look at, and you loose the breaking wave sound you come to enjoy while staying on a beach resort. The food at the lunch/ beach location was a hit everyday ! Amazing soups We found the private pools on the far ends of the resort to be the best, very clean and the bars there very fast and real frozen drinks not out of the slushy machines. The main pool was very cloudy and dirty. We were at this pool for the first day and wouldn't go back to it once we found the other pools at the end of each end of the resort. The rooms were standard rooms. The maids were great and we always had enough towels for all of us. However I did have my scuba mask and snorkel go missing from our room. :( we did the jeep safari with Marco Polo and it was amazing! The highlight of this trip was on our last day the scuba guys came around and had 3 hours open that afternoon and offered a 3 hour boat trip to us for a fair price, we saw the coast of San Juan and Samara. We snorkels and saw a cave but the seas were to rough to go in it, we saw new Villas being built. We went on a white sand beach then we went down a canal to a village where the scuba guy lives, he took us into the village where we saw local ppl go about their day and we bought pizza from a boy on the road who went back and got us 2 more pizza's they were amazing or we were just hungry from not eating lunch and having a few drinks on the boat. Over all great trip for all of us Over all nice resort

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: An ok but not amazing time

This resort was big and had a lot of activities to offer (from mini golf to dancing to archery, etc.). The beach was very rocky and the food was good but not amazing. The entertainment staff was good and very friendly but everyone seemed a little money hungry. The resort also allows locals to come in on weekends which makes the resort busy (longer waits to get drinks and food) and barely any pool side chairs available.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Very nice resort!

The grounds were beautiful and nicely maintained. The views were spectacular! The hotel was clean and neat, room maintenance was timely and good. The hotel corsierge was immediately responsive to our requests to change light bulbs and provide us with robes. The food was very very good, varied, colorfully decorated, and hearty. Lots of fish, legumes, pasta, veggies, fruits, fruit juices, and sweets on a daily basis. Special theme nights were also very good, especially the Dominican night. We also [... read more] enjoyed the Orchidea (gourmet restaurant), as well as its beautiful location! The entertainment (animacion) was quite good, especially the Michael Jackson show (a true channeling of Michael Jackson!) Beaches were good but with a little bit of difficulty finding chairs and shade in the main beach. We did not use the pool at all because it was extremely crowded with the influx of a large group from Newfoundland who arrived with two bands (very good by the way), and there, all the chairs were taken as well. The Spanish lessons were fun! The animacion team was very nice and fun, too, especially Miguel, who is a great natural dancer! Overall, it was a very nice experience and I would go back.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Very Nice Resort

Overall the resort is very nice. We had booked Ocean View room and it was beautiful, just steps away from the beach. We are beach people and found the beach to be very nice with no very few vendors around. Resort is clean, food is good, staff are all very pleasant, helpful and quick. Would go back to this resort. Only suggestion we have is to have the pool tables available to be played in the evenings.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Loved it!!!

Absolutely loved this resort and can't wait to go back! We had a basic room (emerald club luxury junior suite) and it had everything we needed and close to the beach. From the food to the beach, everything was perfect!

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Amazing experience from start to finish!

Wonderful hotel with well kept grounds, nice rooms and plenty of amenities. Food was great and there were so many choices! Overall, fantastic family vacation. This is a great place for kids as well! I would definitely recommend this resort to others.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Resort

Very relaxing resort with great service. Food was adequate but more A la carte restaurants needed. Rooms had ample space and were very clean. Buffet had theme nights for dinner which help break up the regular selection on the buffet.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Must read if you are travelling here

I just got back from a 7 day vacation at iberostar costa doroda. first of all i will say that this resort is for everyone no matter what age. They literally have activities for everyone. I travelled with my boyfriend and we are both 22 years old. we did not know what to expect when we went to the resort but we were so pleased with how it turned out. They have so many activities not only for kids but for adults too. the pool is where most of the action happens. next, the beach, it wasnt like coral blue water or white sand but it was a good beach. its not the best if you are looking to only go there for the beach but they do have a beach volleyball court and a san soccer complex. they also have 2 days where lunch is served on the beach. it was so good. the only annoying thing at the beach is the vendors at the beach they are so annoying but if you say no thank you they walk away. the food was so good. they had alot of variety and it tasted so good. all of the a la cartes were great the japaese one is the very best. they also had food open all the time so you were never hungry. the room was nice not like amazing but you arent in your room very much anyway. all of the staff that worked there was so helpful. everyone was so great and i would recommend this resort to anyone. it was worth the money and the event staff is so amazing.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: This was our second time to the Riu Bachata!

My husband and two sons aged 19 and 24 stayed at the Riu from April 19 to 27. Food was good. Lots to choose from. Especially good if you like fish which was always cooked in front of you. Most of the time we ate our meals on the on veranda. The side facing the beach is non smoking. Julia took care of us most of the week at breakfast and lunch. We had excellent service. The red flag was up all week on the beach and there is a very strong current that will take you down the length of the beach. Melia Tropical: Too Big for my taste

We travelled with four other couples, we requested to be close together, we were not. We all requested king size beds, two couples had twins in their rooms which made them waste the next day changing rooms. When you are only there for 7 days losing day moving is not cool. Pool and ocean were a good 10 - 15 minute walk from our room. So too big for me. Food wise, no complaints it was amazing!

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Best trip so far

I went as a last minute trip for the first time by myself. It was a little far from the airport but once i got there, i personally found it was totally worth the wait. There was two beaches faces the front and side of the hotel. Both were accessible and had amazing soft sand with beautiful turquoise water (as one would expect of such a place). The atmosphere was naturally very laid back and a lot of great international people were met. I had a real blast and cannot wait to go back!

Punta Cana Princess: Good resort

Good resort, good food, friendly staff, clean and quiet. We visited Punta Cana Princess with a group of friends and we really enjoyed our stay. Several people from our group experienced stomach upset but we were fine, maybe due to the Dukerol we took at home. The resort was clean, the staff friendly and problems dealt with promptly. The price drop guarantee is a bit like a jelly fish,, hard to nail down and Sunwing made no attempt to resolve our issue which leads me to believe they would not stand behind their product. They didn't even acknowledge our concerns!

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Excellent again

Just came back from our second trip to this location. Had an amazing trip again, the staff are all very friendly and polite. The food is also second to none. The only thing we did find this time around was there were far too many mosquitos in the room.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful resort.

Although we were a little disappointed at first, as we stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda, in Punta Cana in previous years, but we had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Because we had a standard room, they did not have a coffee maker or iron in the rooms. They are only offered in the suites. Rental of these are not an option. Also the safe had to be rented. All in all I would recommend this resort as a very reasonable price for an all inclusive vacation. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: The resort was not too small but a good size.

Property was well kept, everything was close by, the food was ok and the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants were good, wine was bad, entertainment was in transition so not great and pool was fun but a little too warm to refresh you.
