Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Horrible resort

I would never recommend this resort. From day one things were terrible. The key never worked, walking back to the front desk to exchange key every day. The whole door lock had to be changed twice. You had to fight to get towels, water,toilet paper. The toilet never flashed properly. The resort public washrooms were disgusting.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Another great trip to Memories Caribe

Just got back from my 3rd trip to Memories Caribe since Nov. Great weather and staff .. beach is 5/5 and there is lots of room and shade for everyone. Food was fine for me and I only had a few small bug bites … that only seems to be a problem for some ! Can’t wait to return … the staff were all amazing !!

Gran Muthu Imperial: Our experience

The hotel and the place are amazing, however, the food and restaurants are below expectations, basic foods like cheese, ice cream, fries, etc, not available. The food was tasteless. The entire place is very nice and very clean, the view is amazing but you have to walk to the beech, not like all the other resorts around

2 weeks WARNING.... resort falsely advertised as run by government Cuban no sponsor Melia pulled out still using name MELIA 3r world country no excuse for cleanliness reusing plastic glasses..(cig.hole lipstick wet gritty) we used our to go cups always after this GROSS!!!! Cig butts in middle of patio tables never cleaned garbage not being picked up in all areas Even beach You wonder why so many sand fleas flies Bites...dirty Bring deet or konck haha and antihistamines good luck They did weed wh [... read more]ack and water plants on resort Pool algae not vacuumed swam into plastic cups and bread left on poolside maybe for birds Dinning gritty greasy dishes placemats never cleaned Bring baby wipes Should be wiping all tables with cleaner Water off no warning no hot water in shower for 9 days, bars ran out of ice Bars ran out of gin made drinks to strong not enjoyable did not want to be sloshed on one drink plus its Cuba the pop and mixes are not like ours either no juices offered during day no specialty water no snacks at lobby bar Brought own lime and lemon squirts Had ff at pool bar one day then gone replaced with just bread and ham no lettuce tomatoes as were not short on buffet No imagination on the chef Ala cart just same as buffet Ala cart nice to pretend you are a prince and princess hahah They did try to revamp the Italian for us and had cheese on hot pasta and made a pizza with cheese this was highlight Front desk ENGLISH poor at times FRUSTRATING, mislead for bus cash/ debit ,friends-- check out time12 but locked out at 11:30could not access safe Peeping toms accessing rooms of young girls from Kingston moved to GMR after 3 days they pd extra too move pd 1750 for a week and 150 to move unbelievable Bring ear plugs as Cubans bused in and out LOUD parties at night till 5 Rooms are not sound proof slaming doors ect... ex:SQUEAKING people having sex one night haha seriously THE BEST THING IS NO ONE HERE AT BEACH TO YOURSELF NO FIGHTING FOR CHAIRS The staff only wants bills continuously bugged ,we are not a bank Save your tips till end ?as we always tip Had to deal with rude Cubans guests ex: egg lady- when Cubans guests came they butted in and nothing was done same at the bars We did not say anything, did not want to cause a commotion and we did not get eggs oh well (MAD) The maid was great gave clean towels everyday bed was made not sure if sheets were changed brought Lysol tea treeThe rooms and resort need updating The air conditioning worked over time but way to cold and mildew TEATREE couldn't open door no screen BUGS The girls continuously clean lobby one area FLOOR reality check? PRESENTATION hmmm Oh there was a rat under fountain lobby a big one We mentioned to manager he a verified Food its Cuba one day bacon no toaster old stale buns with lots of flies cant go wrong with eggs Smoothies maybe No snacks No specialty water at Lobby or Bar No culinary experience We did not starve as we are not picky and we had each other with no snow we met some nice people from canada Staff always had a smile its their job sad but false in my book 3 rd world country have too! communism Should have fans for flies at food stations No screens anywhere not in rooms either This resort needs updating badly way to old I can see why Melia pulled out nothing was put into to it I do not recommend this resort will not return try it yourself but all the Canadians that stayed said the same thing we spoke with them which was about10 people if that Good Luck bring grapefruit extract and antibiotics The ocean and weather a 5 star and no vendors selling stuff 5 No snow to shovel and no stress but not for accommodations even for the price 1749 per person way way way to high Survived glad to be home

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: 2 star resort

This hotel did not have enough food to feed there guests they were out of everything examples no bread for 4 days no eggs no oil or salad dressings no cheese no straws no napkins no pop only tang orange juice no drinks like mojitos banna mamas nothing unless u wanted a beer we were very disappointed an had very little to eat all week

Bottom line, if your going here take your own food as there is shortages of everything, ketchup, syrup, rice, bread, potatoes, butter, any condiments all non existent. There was no hot water nor pressure for the entire week. Those asking about rooms being renovated, this is not happening, I only saw painting taken place. rooms are very dated and especially bathrooms. maids did amazing job keeping rooms clean thou.. I feel that tour operators should not be selling packages here at this time as they are not equipped due to all the shortages they are experiencing and people pay alot for their vacations and want what they pay for. I feel for them really, when we arrived capacity was 60 people in total therefore, no restaurants besides buffet for the first 4 days. then when we did get reservations was 2/5. Then a whole bus load of locals came to the resort and they got priority over everyone else. The music was loud everywhere on the resort, you couldn't escape it. Spanish music always and sometimes the loud speaker right through the resort at 1:00 AM. Everything you read in your all inclusive package, you will NOT get. there is no 24 hour anything. there is a ton of No see ums, they are in abundance for some reason, got over 100 bites and so did alot of others as we were all comparing at airport. take lots of spray. I love Cuba, I've been many times, this by far was the worst vacation making me question if I will ever return. the staff are pretty nice, they can only do so much for you thou.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Fabulous resort

We had amazing time, food excellent, staff amazing there to help. No water issues, its, beautiful Historical looking building not like others on Cayo coco , beaches are beautiful! I have been there a few times and the improvements are showing! Super place !

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great value vacation

Overall a good place if you want a value vacation and are not picky about the food where there were noticeable shortages of things like butter cheese deserts among other things. Despite this there was always enough to eat. The beach at the resort next door is preferred to this hotels so if you are going for the beach think about the sister hotel ( not adults only though) There is a great beach just down the road (Pillar Beach) which you can get a return trip to for $5 that is one of the nicest [... read more] beaches in Cuba and has snorkelling or catamaran trips. Three pools at the hotel are great and we stayed at the pool most afternoons. The sports bar makes great Daquaris and Miami Vice ( worth trying). The lobby bar has great Cuban specialty coffees.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice Resort

Resort very nice, its new. Very clean, staff friendly. Beach excellent lots of chairs and cabanas for everyone. Food was to be desired but they tried their best as there was a food shortage during our stay. Limited drink choices, some days they had the liquor the next they didnt.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great trip

Hotel was real nice, small and had friendly staff. We would end up at the amazing beach or larger pools next door, bars were close with ample amounts of beer, rum or vodka mixed drinks. Entertainment every night was nice in the main lobby. Food a la cart cordon bleau was great, Cuban night was also tasty with chicken lasagna and pulled pork rice etc. Every day for breakfast was bacon with ham and cheese omlettes. Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Fun resort

Gran Muthu Cayo Guillermo was a fun resort. Food was great 2.days out of 7....but I guess that's expected in Cuba....you don't go to Cuba for the food!! The resort is 5 years old and is in good shape but could use and update!! The staff were exceptional....very accomodating. The pools and beach are second to none!! The resort is very small and easy to get around....My first time to Cuba so I really have nothing to compare it to in Cuba so I'm giving it a 7.5 out of 10!! Tryp Cayo Coco: Great as always

Clean rooms with fresh towels and water daily and plenty of tp. Nice big pool and the best beach and swimming with a lot of seating available with shade. The staff are really great, friendly and the bartender remembered us from 2017. The buffet had salad, fresh bread, cheese, turkey and always a choice of meats from the grill. There was cockroaches around the buffet the first few days but the new manager took care of it quickly. The entertainment was phenomenal! We had a great vacation

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great resort and staff

Despite the challenges since COVID my family have had two trips within one year to this resort and always found the staff helpful and the amenities/provisions more than satisfactory. With kids it is a nice size, small and easy to get everywhere, clean too.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: isolated paradise with an amazing beach

this resort is new built and has all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the gym with good selection of cardio and weight equipment and onsite free personal trainer ready to help out. three or four pools and all beautiful and clean. the beach is breath taking and the best part of the journey. it looked like a cover of a magazine and it was really hard to leave....make sure u bring sun screen and bug spray. the staff are really kind and friendly and we had the best time. the food is what you get  [... read more]for Cuba and not what we went for so we expected average food. everything else is extra ordinary and wonderful. one of the best resorts we ever visited. highly recommend.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Iberostar Playa Pilar Feb23, 2023

2nd time at this resort since March 2020 when Covid shut it down. We were 2 couples on vacation for a week and enjoyed the dining, a la carts, amazing beaches, entertainment, bars and staff. We were in the furthest bungalow #1 on the 3rd (top) floor. The walking and climbing stairs was fine but at night the stairs were very dark and we needed a flashlight. Otherwise a great week in the beautiful sun and turquoise waters of the Caribbean in Cayo Guillermo. We will definitely be back soon for a 3rd time.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Unforgettable Vacation!

We had a lovely vacation at Hotel Playa Paraiso for 2 weeks in February 2023. We would like to praise the staff for endless and exceptional service in the dining room, all bars and snack bar. Melia Costa Rey: Just Okay

The elevator was dismantled out of order. If you have mobility issues or simply your baggage. If you have a stroller it has to be carried up to the lobby and main bar. I saw people carrying children in strollers down many stairs to get to their room. The resort is kept very clean. We Stayed in the collection side. Nice and quiet. When we arrived late we were hungry and there was no information as to what was open and no map of our way around resort. When we got to our room it was dark and then power went out in the whole resort for 20 minutes. We eventually found our way around and food at a snack bar that was open 24-7 it was tasty. If all you want a beautiful beach this is beautiful!!!!Over all we had a okay time. We are going to go somewhere different then cuba next trip.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not What We Expected…

Resort was run-down, a lot of plumbing issues, our patio door didn’t lock - same as many, the safe didn’t work. We only got 2 of 3 a la carts, food in buffet was not labelled. Bottled water was hard to get.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great location, But.

Food was OK, mostly bland but knew that from previous visits. Shortage on lots of items. No eggs for breakfast. Staff was great, but there were frequent power outages, and they turned the water off between 2am and 5am. very inconvenient. Resort definitely needs a reno, lots of broken things, no handle on patio door, with no handle made almost impossible to latch. Low water pressure. Room very dark, some lights worked others didn't. Nightly entertainment in the front lobby was great, to bad they don't enforce the no smoking rules in this area, had to leave because of the cigar and cigarette smoke.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Quiet resort

Very clean, good service, very friendly staff, No vendors on beach or property. Only negative was that at poolside the music could have been not so loud!! This resort opened in November and not all buildings were open. Maintenance was slow in getting problems resolved. Felt very safe there.
