Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort
We had a great time. Masks were mandatory in the buffet area and all servers wore a mask. It was very clean despite a water break that they worked on all night and rectified. I only wish I had known about the CUC no longer being accepted. I realize that it’s not the hotel’s fault but it left me with less tipping money. The staff was excellent.
Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach and hotel grounds
The hotel has large grounds which are well maintained with a well landscaped garden - it really is a beautiful.pmaxe to walk through and be in. As with other Santa Maria resorts, the beach is gorgeous. The rooms seem to have been well designed and decorated, but the one I was in at least could have used a fresh oat of paint, but that felt like a minor opportunity for improvement. Overall, the hotel was lovely to stay in!
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort
Great and well maintained adult resort. Very friendly staff, amazing service. Rooms a bit outdated but very clean. Nice atmosphere and ambience. Terrain lost in very well maintained greenery. Amazing! Good food and restaurants. Beautiful clean and natural beaches. Possibility to do snorkeling to see coral fish straight from the shore. I will be back. Thank you
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice family resort, but missing some amenities due to low occupancy.
We had a great time staying at this resort as a family with 2 kids (2 and 4 years old). A few things weren't ideal. 1) Timing of meals. The lunch buffet started at 1 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Restaurant that normally opens at 11 am by kid pool was closed so the only place to get lunch before 1 pm was the snack bar at the adult pool which had very limited options. I ended up making sandwiches for the kids at the breakfast buffet and taking those with me. 2) The family rooms are at the furthest po [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Another great vacation!
The 9th time to Melia Dunas and will be back again. The staff are so friendly and attentive, the grounds are well kept, food is good and plentiful and the beach is beautiful. Couldn't ask for anything more!
Tryp Cayo Coco: Disappointing
Tryp Hotel I had a trip booked from May 4-11/22. After 2 days we moved to another resort. We had to move rooms 3 times and even on the 3 move the floor was wet from the faulty air conditioner. The rooms are very old and in need of makeovers Food and beverages were hard to come by and what we did get wasn’t very nice. Wine wasn’t available as listed on line. Drinks were all watered down and even the booked dinners weren’t very good. The ocean was beautiful and the staff extremely n [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: wonderful time
The hotel was very nice, very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was better than i was expecting and have never being to Cuba before I heard many people telling me bring your own spices its bland ect. For me as a vegetarian yes things were limited and there go to was pasta but it was all edible my wife on the other hand enjoyed what she ate which was mostly chicken dishes. For those who complain about the food notice the drive in you are in a third world country and are eating [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Fantastic resort
The resort has a fantastic ocean view dinners and beautiful walks. One of the best lobby in lobby Bar that ever been to.The rooms were newly renovated comfortable beds.Lots of food options. Staff and people all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book again and would recommend.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Awesome choice!
Our agent, Carol Webber recommended Melia Peninsula varadero and I am so glad we went with it. Was better than expected. My biggest concern was the bathroom but I was relieved to find it clean, well maintained and modern. Food wasn’t the best with same food day in day out but it wasn’t bad. The hotel restaurants could do better - felt like buffet was food served at the Italian one. The Japanese one was a good experience but the food was blah - we ended up at the buffet after. The hotel had [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: Excellent Service
The resort was immaculate. The grounds were well maintained. The beach service was the best. Everyone at the resort made you feel like you were a guest and took excellent care of us. The spa service was nice. The food would have been average but considering the resort was five star I would have to rate it below average. We had a couple of clothes items taken from our room. Overall it was a great experience it was just the items taken spoiled such a nice week.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very relaxing stay
The resort staff are exceptional at managing the resort on limited assets and newly hired personnel. Covid guidelines are strictly followed and we constantly reminded to put on our masks we in the restaurants. It is a very safe and welcoming area. The beach is rocky near the entrance but is clear for swimming a hundred feet down lots of areas to go for a walk. I would recommend visiting the nature reserve for $3 just over the white bridge and hiring one of the horse a carriage taxis (Adrian) to [... read more]
Sol Palmeras: Return Visit Met Expectations
2nd time at Sol Palmeras. Food was excellent as before - especially the Chinese Restaurant. Lots of beautiful beach with plenty of palapas. Service was spectacular. Their bungalows are a hidden gem.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort and beach
This resort was great. They are still taking steps to protect you from covid. All employees wear masks right down to the grounds keepers. You also have to wear your mask in the restaurants Food was good even though there were some things they just couldn't get. Al carte restaurants were excellent. Beach was also great and water was warm. Enjoyed very much
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Friendly and Fabulous resort!!!
Our stay was so wonderful! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt so safe with COVID restrictions in place by all staff wearing face coverings and placing guests apart in dinning and suites Loved the beach and the warm ocean waves!!! Great relaxing holiday!!!
Sol Palmeras: amazing resort
My fiancé and I found this to be an amazing resort. I was very big, lots to do. The beach was endless beautiful white sand, lots of recliners in excellent condition and not crowded. The pool was great and again lots of recliners and space. The bars on the beach and pool, lobbies and everywhere had lots of friendly staff. The buffet was large and plenty of different foods available, BTW the food was GREAT considering it usually isn't that good in Cuba. The staff were amazing in the buffet as w [... read more]
Tryp Cayo Coco: Honest Review
I will never go back to this resort. The hotel is OLD, run down, it was over run by Cuban tourists who overtook the hotel. We could not walk around, get a pop or coffee at the beach bar or lounge bar, buffet was a nightmare. The guests would step in front of us and get service first even though we had been waiting in line. They would order MASS quantities of food and not even eat it which was sickening knowing that there are people on that island that are in such poverty. My mother had her [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach
Good value. Food was typical for Cuba. Can’t understand why no onions or garlic in the food. Very odd since they grow it in abundance in Cuba. Hubby got sick and doctor was amazing. Very helpful. No charge. Curious to know what made hubby sick - food at buffet?
Melia Cayo Coco: Beautiful beach, friendly staff, good food
Room 3 star, rooms are old but clean. Broken toilet seat was repaired within 1/2 day. Twice we lost water pressure so we could not shower. Sliding doors were broken. Bed was very firm but good. Beach 4.5 star, beautiful sand. Beautiful bay 0.5km down beach. Catamaran's (hobie cat) are very old and broken, but usable. Cuban government doesnt maintain them. They desperately need fiberglass resin and any parts for a 15 foot hobie (jib sheets, sail repair kits, forestay, bridle wires, any cables [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Hotel review
The hotel was great, staff very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was lacking was the food, It was all the same everyday. The beaches were clean and the gardens were beautiful. the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Lovely resort with amazing staff!
Dedicated, friendly staff who worked very hard to keep visitors happy and safe. COVID protocols were closely followed and everyone was able to relax and enjoy their surroundings. The beach is lovely and although some of the room supplies seemed to be in short supply, staff did their best to provide the necessities.
