Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

My husband and I visited for 9 days for his 60th birthday. We usually travel South a couple of times each winter but this year we were only able to go once so we decided on 9 days and picked the Royalton Riviera Cancun. We got the diamond club with a swim out room. The place is amazing, its huge and yet u don't need a shuttle to get around. There are alot of ramps and escalators and even elevators. The pools are all beautiful and large with plenty of loungers. In the diamond club there is a pool [... read more] person who gets u a spot, if you don't get your own and he comes around with extra towels. We had a butler who visited us several times a day to make sure all our needs were met and checked on our maid service and also made our dinner reservations as we requested, again these guys were fabulous, very attentive and helpful. The food is great in all restaurants, we were never disappointed with any of it, even the buffet was great. I would like to add its the biggest buffet i have ever seen in all my travels, plenty of variety indeed. There are several spots to eat, breakfast if you prefer not to do the buffet which is a nice change also. We even used the room service for his birthday breakfast and the service again was awesome. All the entertainment, day or night was very good and made our trip interesting and fun. We went to relax and chill out so we didn't take any tours etc but there are plenty of tour options if that's what you desire. We prefer to stick around the resort and its so pleasant with enough going on that we never once got bored. All the staff we encountered were constantly smiling and very pleasant made, this made our stay even more welcoming. The only negative i would have to say is the beach area, for swimming was not great as there is alot of seaweed at this time of year and for us it didn't make getting into the ocean appealing. But to take a walk or sit on loungers, have some lunch and hit the beach bar it was fine. We have always said it would be nice to find our "spot" for winter vacation and just go back every year and know we will not be disappointed. So YES we have now found the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and both my husband and I cant wait to return again. I just loved this place!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great resort, amazing service, and NO AMAERICANS!!

This hotel is well maintained, with no children and great service for the most part .. I’d go again in a heartbeat. Beach is amazing, pools are well kept and everything is clean. Being Cuba ... the food is better than expected, especially at the reservation restaurants. Enjoy

We just returned from the Royalton Cancun.We were in a swim up suite in the Hideaway Section with Diamond service.We were very pleased with this resort.The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained.Food and service was terrific.Room service was quick and dependable.Not once were we bothered with anyone selling anything.The butlers were wonderful(Jose and Alavero).All staff members were very pleasant and always seemed happy to serve us.Pool towels were never an issue.We are very happy we fo [... read more]und this resort and we will return.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice!

We especially loved the small size of this resort, the most beautiful beach with so many cabanas and the friendly staff. The beach waiters were great. Our butler Diana was wonderful and so kind in helping to celebrate a birthday we didn’t know she knew about! The grounds were lovely and clean. I enjoyed that the restaurants weren’t buffet style. The room was very comfortable, but many rooms have patio doors that won’t open, I assume due to the hurricane. We met many return guests which says a lot. I do wish that the wifi was more widely available.

Magnificent resort Great food Great staff Lovely beaches Clean, spacious rooms Activities available for those interested My concierge kept in touch and met every need I had. I was extremely pleased with vacation and would definately go back. I have already told my friends about it.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great resort, love the open concept.

This was a lovely place. Everything was great. Enjoyed the beach, the pool, all the surrounding areas and the restaurants. The buffet was very good although a little too varied. The bar staff could be a little more attentive to people sitting at the bar, but other than that everyone was very friendly and helpful. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Honeymoon!

This resort was absolutely beautiful! Great food and good service. Premium liquor used for the drinks. This resort is huge and with so many pools to choose from you never felt crowded even though it was prime holiday time. Everyone was friendly. You don't have to reserve a restaurant and only need to wait a bit for a table. We did not see the need to upgrade to the diamond club. One thing we didn't care for was our first room overlooked the mangrove. Would have like an ocean view but the hotel was fully booked so pool view was fine. This resort has a beautiful beach, however....they seriously need to do something about the weeds. They wash up on shore and for some reason the resort does not remove them. There is a ridge of weeds constantly on the beach. We did see them using a tractor to rake them up but can see weeds falling back out onto the beach. They do this during the day when everyone is on the beach. This is something that should be done in the very early morning before people start heading to the beach. Not very appealing when you are lying there and the tractor is slowly going by. At other resorts the beach is cleaned very early so that guests are annoyed by the weeds. This is a wonderful resort and we will definitely be going back again!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Top Class

Everything about this resort is very good ! The butlers, maids beach staff and waiters at resturants all go above and beyond ! The beach is really amazing The only comment is that 10 of 14 days was windy with red flags at the beach which restricted swimming ,

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Nicest Hotel Ever!

This is an amazing place. It was much larger than I imagined however that made it even better because of the amazing selection of bars, restaurants, pools etc. The public areas of the resort were beautiful - clean, elegant, spacious, well maintained and a please to use. The gym and spa were wonderful - the gym had all brand new equipment and was a pleasure to use while the spa was just amazing - the hydrotherapy area was huge with a big variety of pools and showers and the massage rooms [... read more] were relaxing and quiet. Although there was only one buffet, and it got a little busy at breakfast, the quality and selection of the food was wonderful - and kudos to the hotel for putting deserts and other foods behind glass - much more hygienic. The food itself was wonderfully presented and beautifully cooked and was the best i have eaten from more than 20 all inclusive hotels. Try the Royalton chicken! I was stunned by the number and quality of the specialty restaurants. I am used to seeing recycled buffet food in these places served by people who don't know what they are talking about but here I was incredibly surprised by the food quality, its presentation, and the understanding of the servers. I made it to 5 of the restaurants and they were all good and some were great!. Best of all, no reservations needed - that makes life so simple! Another great thing was the quality products they served at the bars - all the drinks were premium and there was a huge selection of everything that one could want - very nice! Our room was huge and luxurious - our view of the wall around the property was not great but that's my faults - I should have shelled out for oceanview. what was great was the unlimited 24 hour room service - breakfast delivered when you want it is a great way to start the day. Entertainment was incredible - shows were on all the time and the only downer was that I could not see everything I wanted to. The best thing about this place was the staff - they all seemed to be loving their jobs and were always smiling. They were friendly and helpful and most were also very competent in English too. Although the beach sand was very nice for walking, you should note that due to the offshore reef, they get a lot of seaweed in the water and on the beach - they try to keep it clean but it is a big job

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Second time here!

We brought my sister and her hubby with us for our second trip here as we loved our first time sooo much! This time was still great but the attention to detail in terms of butler service wasn't as goos as our first time. I think they must have had a new person training in the diamond club reception because his answer to everything was YES! but unless we asked our butler directly it didnt happen. Our butler was very hard to get a hold of this time. We only saw him 3 times in 8 days not for lack  [... read more]of trying. There was far too much manager presents making their service in the restaurants inconsistent....ie. one night a manager sent my hubby and sister's hubby back to change out of their sandals then the hostess let the next guy in with the same sandals and i called her on it and she said thwy were dress sandals and were okay! I'm not sure when reef sandals became dress sandals but apparently they are for some men and not others.....i was super frustrated with those inconsistencies. Also....there was a big and small tractor on the diamond club beach side for 5 of our 7 beach days all morning and into the afternoon removing seaweed. We couldn't even hear the ocean or converse with each other. It's still a gorgeous resort with exceptional service but it wasnt the same the second time around and i would not spend $6000 again for the room we got this time that also wasn't what we requested. My sister got the right room but we just got what was left which was definately a big disappointment to myself. Our butler did fix it and even upgraded us on our last 2 nights to a beautiful room. He really tried but i think he was over worked and his messages weren't being passed onto us. I'd go back again but not diamond club or even hideaway....there was no real benefit this time. The sercixe has changed too much and i think its because the bean counters have scaled back on the luxury we experienced the first time.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: My favourite place to relax.

I had an amazing time at the Royalton Punta Cana Resort. My daughter & I went for 4 days. The resort is amazing, we were in the Diamond Club which is really worth getting if you can. Our Butler Victor was the best, staff in dining, bars, grounds all very friendly & helpful, this is a happy resort. I love this resort. Going back with my husband in May for 10 days

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful grounds, upgraded beds and umbrellas. Because of the way the resort is laid out it never seems crowded and there was never a problem getting a bed at the beach or pool. Love the bar area with indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean. Friendly staff. Food is just okay but you expect that in Cuba. We loved the fresh pasta and pizza bar. Delicious sandwiches and wraps on the BBQ near the bar. Buffet becomes a little boring by the end of the week.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Fabulous resort!

I thoroughly enjoyed my wonderful 9 nights at the Royalton Varadero. The grounds were sumptuous , beautiful landscaping, fabulous pools......especially loved the white tents around the pool, providing comfort, and shade .......the staff were attentive and friendly , giving a warm ambiance to the overall experience. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Fantastic Resort!

The first nice thing about the resort is that it's close to the Cancun airport, so you'd not stuck on a bus for an hour. It was about 20 minutes away. You're also not on the main Cancun strip, so there aren't all types of people from other places wandering the beach, or heaps of vendors like most resort beaches. The whole resort was beautiful, with lovely pools, great restaurants and a lot of space where you could just hang out and relax. The other restaurants were great too; we tried the steak house, Italian restaurant and the seafood restaurant in the Hideaway. The Hideaway section was everything you'd want in the adult section of a resort. It had its own lounge/reception for check-in, questions, cash exchange, etc. It even had a small bar and always had fruit and snacks on hand. Each floor had a concierge who could give you a printed itinerary each day with the day's activities, entertainment, opening and closing hours of restaurants/bars. There was always music coming from the pool bar, water and out of the pool activities, so it was a fun vibe. But there were quieter spots at other sections of the pool as well. The beach was beautiful, and like at the pool, you could always find a lawn chair. There were always towels, and waiters came by frequently to fill drink and food orders. There was a beach bar that always played music, but again, you could be further away from it if you wanted some quiet time. The room was beautiful as well. I was sharing with a friend and we had 2 queen beds, though most rooms in that section have a king. A bonus, the beds were really comfortable, which I find isn't often the case in resorts.The room was very clean, and the staff was always very accommodating when we requested things for the mini bar, toilet paper, anything really. There was a huge tub and an amazing walk in shower, with a built in bench, two rain shower heads and another telephone shower head. As a guest of the Hideaway, you still have access to all other sections of the resort so you can enjoy really everything on site. The evening entertainment was nice and there were a few bars, as well as a small club where you could hang out. The staff everywhere on site was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this resort and will certainly return if heading back to the Cancun area. I had an absolutely fantastic time!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: a 5 star resort

Highly recommend. This was our 6th visit and the place continues to show improvements. Did Diamond Club upgrade and glad we did. Rooms are very clean, and grounds are well taken care of. Staff is uber friendly with no request too large or too small. A tad expensive, but worth it if you want to treat yourself. Food is excellent. All rooms are mini suites with refridge, large balcony, fully stocked bar (diamond club) beer, red & white wine, rum and sparkling wine. If you want something el [... read more]se just ask. Beach is wonderful. You won't be disappointed by anything except the price tag (we stayed 2 weeks from Jan 24 to Feb. 7 and paid just over $8,000..

the resort and staff are amazing ..very helpful and food is fantastic..pools are warm . swim up a must especially if u r in direct sun...definitely a 5 star hotel and we will be returning again next year with family

Room was nice - not the unobstructed oceanview I was expecting - housekeeping was disappointing - had to ask to have black mold from around sinks removed, behind bathroom door was not cleaned at all, late room cleaning interferred with getting ready to go to dinner, when I asked to have room cleaned earlier it was a very poor job done - I felt like I put them out and that was pay back. Used indoor Jacuzzi - dirt and someone else's hair came out of the jets and into my bath water - grossed me ou [... read more]t Food at the buffet was cold - no matter what time I went - fruit selection was pineapple and melons - to make your own salad was a job on its own Evening entertainment was very good - daytime was okay - music at the Hideaway tended to be geared towards the younger crowd and was very loud Travelling solo meant being ignored - waiters / butlers gravitated to the couples around me Never did find where food was available 24 hrs other than room service and that selection was limited. A la carte's more worried about presentation than quantity or quality of food. Ordered Oven baked potatoe and grilled asparagus as a side at Dorado restaurant - got 3 pieces of potatoe wedges and 3 pieces of asparagus that wasn't cooked properly. Ceasar salad ordered at Hunter Steakhouse consisted of 3 really large pieces of Romaine lettuce wrapped in rolls and placed dramatically on a "drizzle" of dressing - difficult to cut the lettuce and not send it flying off the plate

The buffet is excellent and incredible choices and quality and the restaurant Doraldo has excellent sea food. I tried the sea bass and I think it was the best sea bass I ever had. The property is very well maintained and the service on a whole were very good. The hotel seems environmental concious and was discontinuing the use of straws in drinks. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Awesome resort

The resort is just 15 mins from Cancun airport. Great buffet restaurant with excellent selection of food. Room is spacious and clean. We booked the hideaway adult only section. I like the resort's lay out, all restaurants are central near the lobby. Only watched one magic show on our final night, it was really professional and surpassed my expectation.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this resort. We upgraded to the presidential suite (1 bed) as it was the only option in a quieter part of the resort. Food was outstanding. Service was wonderful. there was never an issue getting a spot at either the pools or the beach. the only negatives for me was there was indeed lots of seaweed on the beach but they worked really hard to keep it clean.
