Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: An amazing trip

The resort was wonderful. The staff did everything they could to pamper us and the food and drinks were more than adequate. The resort was clean neat and tidy. The buildings were all impressive and very useful.

Dreams Huatulco: Fabulous resort

My family of 4 just returned from Dreams resort in Huatulco. Weather was perfect, sunny and 30 everyday. The resort was great, loved the fact of no wristband and no reservations needed at the a la carte restaurants. Food was very good, accommodated gluten free allergy well. The concierge will provide a note to give to restaurant for ease of communication. Restaurants were well maintained and clean. My 14yr old was happy to take his basketball to use on the courts, basketball hoops without nets [... read more] was disappointing for him. It is a minor thing but is something could be easily fixed by the hotel. Exercise room was well equipped and clean. Massage and hydrotherapy at Spa was fabulous. Missing Ping pong paddles and balls during the week were frustrating for my kids - this also seems like an easy and inexpensive fix to have extras on hand. Drink service on beach and around pools made up for the placement of bars at either end of resort. The coffee bar was amazing serving not only coffee but smoothies with lots of yummy desserts. Strong recommendation to take Pesos instead of US dollars. We have traveled to many places and found some of the staff not overly friendly to English speaking guests at this resort. Saw manarays right on beach in front of hotel which was exciting. Highly recommend boat/snorkle tour - saw dolphins, sea turtles and humpback whales which was definitely the highlight of our trip! Also took taxi to Copalita ruins and hired a guide which was an interesting experience. Only a 15 min cab ride from the hotel.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Spectacular resort

Beautiful place and so relaxing. I won the trip there and was so excited to go. When we got there we were treated like royalty. Rooms were gorgeous, Food great. service was great too , especially room service.

Paradisus Cancun: Unique architecture of hotel is a wow factor

Outside grounds: immaculate, in keeping with the Paradisus name (we have been to the one in Punta Cana) Room: quaint Pool: by far, the best pool I have seen (Royal Service). Gran Festivall: Gran Festivall

The available activities is were this resort shines. The staff were great but it is a locals resort or most staff didn't speak English. The rooms were cute but not kept up. I'm actually ok with chipped paint and tiles(just adds to the Mexican feel) But we had mold growing in one of the closets and there were stains on the sheets and a hole in one of the pillow cases. The stairwell was tight also. It was nice having a kitchen though. We had a night without air conditioning and a couple da [... read more]ys with cold showers. The beds are very hard and small...I think we had a double. It looks like they are doing some major repairs but that meant there was only one main dinning room avaiable and 5hrs between 7am-10pm were there was no food available at all. No food was available between 11am-1pm and 4pm-7pm. We don't drink. I usually have lime water but occasionally enjoy the odd juice which was not available. The food was pretty good but there was poor rotations of food. I had plans on eating guacamole everyday(not an unreasonable expectation in Mexico) but it wasn't served once. Not even on Mexican night...I had to buy my owe avocados from the local market. The fish was always mushy or over cooked. There pulled chicken and beef were amazing though. There were no snack bar which they said there were. The grounds were very well groomed and clean. And so were the pools. The staff were helpful and pleasant. There were several staff that got extra tips for exceptional service. It was hard to fully enjoy the entertainment as everything was in Spanish but the dancers were impressive. Some shows were not very family friendly and it was very much a family resort. We loved the area and hope to visit it again. We always felt safe. The sunwing guide was very helpful with navigating the area and great suggestion. This resort has potential but not there yet. We had a good time but felt it was a bit over priced for what we got. We were talking to another couple who has the same room size we did and they paid $225 less than we did per person so we will be shopping around more next time.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Truly a 5-Star Resort

This was our first time staying with Bahia Principe Akumal. Every aspect of our trip was 5-star all the way. The restaurant meals were delicious and artistically plated; almost too beautiful to eat. Our room was exactly as we'd asked for with an amazing view of the beach and water and infinity pool. With a resort this large, they had shuttles going all over to the sister resorts. I don't think we ever waited more than 5 minutes for one to come by. I must say that the staff was professional [... read more] and super friendly; so eager to help with anything you needed. The beach was so pretty with swarms of fish to entertain everyone very close to the beach. We are big beach walkers and this resort had no restriction on how far we chose to walk. This was by far the nicest resort we've ever stayed with. We'll be returning to this one.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Worth the money but a bit too big!

This resort was clean and welcoming. The grounds were well taken care of and the staff were mostly pleasant. We found the bar staff unable to keep up to demand and would frequently disapear, one time it took nearly an hour to get a refill. The food was okay, not fantastic. The pools were well maintained and fun! The resort itself is huge, so going anywhere took a ton of planning in order to not have to walk back to retrieve anything forgotten. The babysitter and kids club were amazing!

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: A great experience

My sister in law recommended this hotel and it was very nice. Even it was close to the main road, inside the compound, you would not recognize. Overall a great stay. Great food, great people and a great beach area. Would go back any time.

Grand Sunset Princess: One of our Favourite Resorts!

The resort was great! Rooms were spacious, service was great, grounds fantastic. Looks of poolside engagement, and lots of pools to choose a more relaxing setting. Downfalls, had to be up very early reserving your pool lounges, and many lounges would sit empty all day with no use, but reserved with towels. There was a lot of repetition for food, not a lot of variety especially breakfast. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Dissapointing

Travelled with my boyfriend on our first trip together, excited to go to Mexico for the first time. Booked through trip central with marnie, who was amazing and very accommodating. We have stayed at royalton resorts in the past so we had an idea what to expect. We wanted to take advantage of the room selection service offered on the website but it kept stating our reservation was not available and I would recieve an email once it was. I never received this and we emailed and called royalton man [... read more]y times with no response. Upon arrival at the airport we had no idea what was going on, taxi services were hounding us and we almost got into one until we saw an air Canada rep ago advised us we had a bus that would be taking use taking sunwing in the past, this was all communicated via email. Upon arriving at the resort, everything was beautiful and we were excited that we got an early flight, arriving at the resort at 12pm. Check in advised that the room wasn't available until 3 and there was no possibility of room selection, we were very disappointed and wanted to speak to the manager Sylvia. She advised that there was nothing she could do, but she would contact us in a couple days when something was available, she never called. We then needed to wait, with our baggage for 3 hours until our room was available. Finally arriving in our room, realised it was exactly where we did not want, facing the mangrove. The rest of the trip was good, with the except of the staff. Overall resort, food and entertainment were great but bartenders and servers weRe rude and unaccommodating. We booked a 400 Canadian spa package and they forgot to add two services. Check out was stressful as they forgot to give us a check out slip so when trying to get on the bus the bell boys wouldn't allow so we had to go back to check out.

Occidental Cozumel: Very Relaxing

Rooms are large and really comfortable beds with TONS of pillows. Bathrooms large and beautiful. Grounds gorgeous but no ocean views due to foliage. Lots of wildlife which we found fascinating Food ok but could be 5 star if they improved food choices and lack of staff. The staff who are there work super hard and are very friendly but they are understaffed for sure. This is a very quiet resort which has a separate adult pool which is nice and quiet. Evening entertainment is very simple [... read more] and there is no theatre which didn't bother us at all. We would return for sure.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Once in a Lifetime Experience

One Word...."Paradise" A resort along with Secrets Playa next door that captivates you for your entire stay! The staff are the best I have ever seen anywhere and they go far beyond any customer service expectations. We will return some day with our sisters and their husbands! Would highly recommend to anybody who is looking for a dreamland experience.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Beautiful view of the ocean

Beautiful resort, new and modern. The food was very good at all the restaurants. Pools were nice and clean too. Very nice place! However, the room service took very long, over an hour for two cups of tea. Maid service could see some improvement better attention to detail I guess. I had to call for toilet paper at one time. Dirty dishes from room service were left in the cubby for over 24 hours. But that would be my only complaints.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: A disapointment

The hotel was completely overbooked. Don't believe what you hear about the restaurants - you can't actually get into them unless you pay extra to become part of the diamond club (unless you want to wait at least an hour and a half). Even so, we put our name on the list for Zen, were told it would be an hour and a half wait, and then had people slipping the staff money to cut the line. We ended up having to eat in the jam-packed buffet every night. Note, we paid extra to stay in the adults on [... read more]ly section, but it was often full at meal time, meaning that we had to sit among hundreds of families in the cafeteria-style room full of tables. The room was clean, but we didn't get the king bed we were promised (two queens). Unless you put a towel down on the lounges by the pool first thing in the morning, like everyone else, you will not get a seat. Unless you are a young, drunk woman in your 20s, you are unlikely to be brought drinks by the beach. The hot tubs were usually lukewarm, and there was often no hot water in our room shower in the evenings (including our jacuzzi).

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Family oriented

Serious lack of cushions for lobby furniture. Japanese restaurant was so hot we had to leave before finishing meal. The over all theatre productions were very good. The buffet food was good and varied. Children should not be left to shop the buffet unsupervised as they were handling food and then putting it back when they decided they didn't want it. The housekeeping staff was outstanding and the rooms comfortable. You do not go there for the beach because it is extremely rocky and huge amounts  [... read more]of sea vegetation clogging the shore. That being said, the pools and water park are excellent.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great vacation

I spent a great week at this hotel with my 2yr old daughter, my mom and my aunt. The layout of the hotel is ideal for travelling with child. No walking for 20 minutes both ways when you've forgotten something in your room! The resort is very clean, the staff is AMAZING, food is good. In terms of value for your money we felt we got more than what we paid for. We didn`t happen to leave the resort during the week we were there but had we gone to Isla Mujeres as orignially planned, the ferry was lit [... read more]erally at the doorstep of the resort. I suppose some would find the beach a little small, but again, for us it was great. My daughter loved watching all the boats leaving port. Would go back again for sure.

Samba Vallarta: Beautiful resort with friendly staff

The grounds foliage are so beautiful at this resort. The staff were friendly, funny and helpful. The variety of fresh fruit and vegetables was so wonderful! As well the meals had something for everyone. I would recommend this resort.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Beautiful Spot

Fantastic food, beautiful pools and lovely cabana huts. Very nice staff who were helpful and attentive. Spa was very nice. Beach was large with beautiful view of the sunrise each morning. It was great to have access to the adjoining Secrets resort for alternate restaurants, entertainment and pools.

Definitely a family resort. Resort was nice clean staff were very friendly. Although If you're not up at 5 AM you will not find a lounge chair anywhere near the pool. People reserve chairs and then never come back. At other resorts we've been to as soon as you leave your chair the staff clear it unlike this place you could never find a place to sit . Coffee machine in room was broken and upon several requests it had never been fixed or replaced. Had the resort not being attached to the secrets which was a mere few minute walk away this would have been a very disappointing trip. We spent 95% of our time on the other resort which in fact was fantastic therefore making our vacation quite nice. Again had it not been attached it would've been a disappointing trip. Note the resort is new and they still have a lot of work to do but it will come around. we have been to many 5 star resorts and this is definitely not a 5 star. A 4 star at Max.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Love this resort

Loved everything about this resort. What really makes this hotel great is the staff everyone was so friendly. Loved the bike tour with Hector and Isaid both part of the entertainment team!! Server Daniel was great from world cafe. Never had to get up and get a drink by the pool because victor kept taking care of everyone there. Salvador our concierge was really awesome making sure we were comfortable and taken care off. Service was top notch!
