The resort is lovely grounds, very big, use of shuttle a must. Pools were great, lots of them. Sports Bar was very disappointing, staff did not care about patrons, service was terrible!!! Everywhere else was fine. Service was fine, food was ok. Room was adequate but far from everything. Overall nice vacation but not sure we would return.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Don't do it!

We have been travelling for many years to Mexico, DR, Cuba, as well as Asia and have to say, we were quite disappointed with this one. Normally, we can put bad things aside as we are travelling to underprivileged Countries but this one is not to the same standard as others. The pool was filthy, even my 10 and 8 year old kids did. To want to swim in it because it looked so cloudy. In the morning, sometimes, a man would come and brush the sides, we seen a vacuum twice only. The afternoon was  [... read more]filthy. My daughter had a rash and we suspected it was a heat rash, but then she was itchy where she did not even have a rash, so we paid to get a drug store to deliver calamine lotion for her as she was too uncomfortable. We stayed in an older part of the resort, which really showed its age. That is fine, but the a/c did not function well, and the fridge did not work at all. The buffet foods were mildly warm (even at the start of the opening hours) and very typical. These were our primary concerns. I have been travelling South for over 20 years and this is the first trip where I was deeply disappointed. El Dorado Seaside Palms: Amazing Resort

Resort was great! Do not let the smaller entrance fool you, the resort is large beautiful and fantastic staff. The entire staff friendly, kind and enthusiastic. Food was fantastic and never had difficulty finding food, even with dietary restrictions. Great time, only down side is slightly rocky beach. I would go back in a second

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Its amzing resort

Everthing is great we enjoy the time service really gud food is good to and drink and resturnt food is good to soo we enjoy all the stay and we have fun and my son like the pool and beach and we went to snorkly and chonte

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful resort

We couldn't have ask for a nicer room. We were so close to the beach . It was not crowded, we were always able to find a chair on the beach . There were hammocks in front of our deck. The staff were always very friendly and wanted to do anything they could for you . Really enjoyed the week.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great Resort

I really enjoyed my stay! I was very impressed at the cleanliness at all parts of the resort. My only complaints would be that the a la carte restaurants aren't open for lunch so you can't go to all 9 in a week.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Blue Bay not so blue

Swimming at the beach is a priority to me but at this hotel was a HUGE disappointment. The beach water was brown and full of seaweed. The bottom was sandless rocky and muddy. I would have appreciated knowing this before booking this vacation. Other than the water this is a great place with plenty of swimming pool swimming.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Went for a wedding

Resort is small but well maintained. Drink service around pool was good. Wait staff at Breakfast and Lunch always great especially Elvis and Karen. Food at Buffets and a la cartes were really good with a lot of choice. Supper wait staff were good until you were in a group of 8 or more. They couldn't handle the drink orders or any other requests for extra utensils, glasses, etc. One person in the group got their beer 45 minutes after ordering it. In small groups, the service was great. Ro [... read more]oms were basic. The view from our room was of 2 buildings made of concrete with a view of the ocean between. We hadn't ordered an oceanview room so weren't too concerned. One tip is to make sure you request a king bed before going if you need one. Those that didn't got 2 doubles. Beach was nice for walking but no swimming allowed. The under tow was horrible. That didn't stop some guests from risking their lives even though a black flag (Do Not Swim for risk of death) by swimming well out from shore. Saw whales breaching from shore and sting rays jumping out of the water. Check in and out was quick and efficient. The outdoor wedding went off without a hitch except for the pesky seagull that pooped on one of the guests. That wasn't the hotel's fault though. Food and dancing after was great on another outdoor patio. Had to be done around 10:30pm so we didn't disturb any of the guests with rooms right above it. The rest of the group headed for the Sky Lounge. We didn't as we knew if was extremely loud and we had to leave the next morning. Biggest complaint I have has nothing to do with the resort. We were in line for 2 1/2 hours at the airport waiting to get through immigration when we got there. We heard every Saturday is like that. The airport has to do something about that. I guess it made the drink when we got to the resort that much better. Also on the way back, had to sit on the tarmac for an extra hour while they found a fuel truck. Overall, airport was disorganized. I don't think they know how to handle all those people. It was obviously never built to handle that many people and airplanes coming in or leaving. To those people that decided to go around to get right in front of the person handling a wheelchair down the ramps...get out of the way. You have no idea how hard it is to maneuver one of those down a ramp going backwards so the wheelchair doesn't get away from them. Just be patient. You got no further by going around and in fact risked your own life or limb (mainly a foot). Please people, use your brains or what's left of them after a week of heavy drinking and eating.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Great Resort

We stayed at Akumal Bay Beach Resort March 26-April 2 2017 Great resort if you are looking for a small resort. Every room has an ocean view. We were in building 4. We had our own bar right outside our room. Resort was right on the beach no long walk to get to the water. Beach was rocky in front our building had to walk down the beach a little to swim. Snorkeling but you cannot use flippers. This is new this year. They are trying to preserve the reef and not stress the turtles. Food was [... read more] good. Never a problem getting a chair on the beach. We had our own pool at our building. No line-ups. When we arrived we were met by Abel who gave us a great tour of the resort. He was very helpful and pleasant.

Flamingo Cancun Resort: Great beach

This is a small resort with half mexican tourists and the other half international tourists. Small pools and very small selection at the buffet. The Albatros a-la-carte restaurant is just as small, but some of the items on the menu are fantastic : filler mignon, salmon fillets, the crepes with chocolate ... The room we've had was of a 2 stars hotel ... it looked old and poorly maintained, no fridge, ni bottled water daily, beat up beds and pillows, extremely noisy (facing to the busy street  [... read more]and also close to the elevator), with small cockroaches in the bathroom and closet. There were also extensive renovations being done to the beach side of the hotel ... with all the dust, debris and sweaty workers walking around carrying bags of cement and metal bars ... The only thing that actually was great was that the small beach they have was clean, had enough sun-umbrellas and lounge chairs for everyone - the beach and the ocean and the sun .. that is what made our vacation a time to remember.

Barcelo Huatulco: Good Resort

We had a nice, clean room with an ocean view. Loved that we could make reservations for all of the restaurants at the same time as check in. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed the adult pool.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: A wonderful resort to go to

We had a wonderful stay at this resort the room was beautiful and clean and no smell at all the balcony of the ocean view was spectacular the staff were very wonderful and helpful and it was a joy to watch all the children playing on the beach and seeing families connect together I would like to have seen more adult entertainment in the evening but overall it was terrific

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: My family loved the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal!

This is an extremely well kept hotel. The grounds were immaculate with some interesting wildlife to see daily (iguanas, coatis, sereques). The public areas were clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, the buffet had incredible variety, even for my son, who is a picky eater. The rooms were very nice. I had a few ants in mine, but we're in hot weather, so some of that is to be expected. The pools were very clean and the water was a nice temperature. Extra swim up bars would be nice, but th [... read more]e wait wasn't too long at the one there was. The beach was nice - sand not as soft as somewhere like Cuba, but still ok. The seaweed was raked up daily and you could do some snorkelling right off the beach. The shuttles around the resort were frequent, which was convenient on days on which we were too tired to walk from our lobby to our villa (or vice versa). I've stayed at a Sandals in St Lucia and I loved the Bahia Principe Akumal as much, if not more. All in all, it was lovely. The only bad thing I can say is that my trip wasn't longer :)

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Amazingly beautiful

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were exceptional with any questions we had . The food was good ! The beach was beyond and my whole experience was amazing . I recommend sandos to any family looking for a place to stay!

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Has everything you need

It's not a fancy resort - doesn't look like a 4.5/5 star when comparing to a resort on the maya riviera side but has everything you need and the service was very friendly. Any issue, they always tried to solve it right away and with a smile! Food was great and great waterpark/area for kids - best I've seen so far. We enjoyed our time!

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Great place to be!

The smaller hotel is very authentically Mexican. Lobby area is lovely, grounds are beautifully kept and everything is very clean. The clientele is a nice mixture of families and individuals from all over as well as local people. The food was amazing. The kids club has great staff. The pool area was really nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is within walking distance to Puerta Vallarta stores and sights. The rooms are nice and the beach is great. Grand Palladium Colonial: Paradise!!!!!!!!!!

This resort was absolutely amazing! Words can't even describe how great our experience was at the Grand Palladium Resort & Spa in Mexico. From the minute we entered foot in the front lobby we were treated with amazing service. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The resort is well maintained and I mean extremely maintained. The gardens, pools, beach, rooms are all well taken care of. The staff here at the Grand Palladium work extremely hard making sure the resort is kept up with any genera [... read more]l maintenance, well groomed and manicured gardens and the resort in a whole exceeded all expectations. Exemplary standings to a fantastic resort! Never a dull moment in terms of the entertainment part of the resort. The shows were by far amazing and made our experience one we will never forget. The list could go on and on so I hope people who travel to this amazing resort have the same experience we had. We would definitely recommend this resort to others travelling to the Mayan Riveria.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: This was an Ok Resort

I traveled to this resort for a friend's wedding, and while it was ok, I feel that for the price that I paid it could've been better. It's a huge resort so be prepared for walking, or wait for the golf carts to transport you. The biggest downsides was the food and swim up bars.I'm 5'2 and the swim up bar must be 6' deep, so I could never walk back with me drink, stay in the middle of the pool without treading water (which means I couldn't enjoy my drink). The buffet got boring after 2 days sinc [... read more]e the food never changes. Also, the al la cartes are only open for dinner, which is annoying because the buffet food gets boring. Bring an extension cord because there's only 3 plugs in the room, and you have to unplug everything to use them. Also bring ziplocs to take snacks from the buffet, as there's no where to get snacks if the buffet is closed.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Kind of an upset

The hotel staff were very friendly and staff by the pool were entertaining job well done. The food was alright, very repetitive and boring after the third day. Booked A la cart dinners the day I arrived and 2 reservations had to be made for 10pm towards the end of the week.. the pool areas were nice. bars seemed understaffed at times, drinks seemed watered down. in my opinion the most important part of the trip would be the beach, which I would have to say sucked. Considering I've been to other  [... read more]beaches in Tulum I was very surprised how rough and rocky the sand was and how tiny the actual swim area is. Also if I was aware of the neighbouring part of the resort Akumal I definitely would have booked it over Tulum. Left the resort multiple days and enjoyed the real beaches of Tulum 20 minutes to the south . usually 7 days feels short but not this time. I would say 3 star

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Excellent service

My second time at Golden Parnassus. Smaller resort- it's convenient, everything is right there. Love not taking a golf cart everywhere... Rooms are clean, staff is helpful and friendly. They have lots of pool activities, karaoke night, a Mexican dinner night, etc.. See ya next year Golden Parnassus!!!
