Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Simply fantastic!

We went as a family of 5, with three teens and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was 5 star, the food was excellent, the grounds amazing. It was also nice to have the two bigger pools as one was devoted more to families with kids, having fun (games, water polo, etc.) with lots of music. It's about a 3km wal [... read more]k along the beach to the marina of San Jose. The undertow and surf is exceptionally strong in front of the resort so I wouldn't recommend it for swimming. That was the only thing our kids were disappointed about. However, the water park with all its slides made up for it. We had access to all 3 Riu resorts. Mornings we went and found a lovely little nook at the Cafe with an amazing view of the resort, the beach, the Pacific, the distant rocks, and all the boat and cruise ship activity. We could even see whales in the distance! We also used one of the gyms but found it a tad on the small side and it should have had more mat space. There is another gym for cardio with a view of the ocean and beach, however we didn't use it. We did 2 day trips, snorkelling and whale watching, as well as took a taxi to the marina and went shopping at the flea market one day. We enjoyed watching someone feed a sea lion on the dock while lots of pelicans tried to steal its food. There was lots of activity and restaurants, bars to stop at along the docks. All in all, the weather was amazing and we had an awesome trip!

Riu Dunamar: Great water activities, food could be better

Great beach, lots of waves (Sargassum can be an issue), great pools, great water park. Staff is really nice and friendly. Food could be better, the a la carte dinner restaurant system is a nightmare, since people have to line up or wait for a long time (with a beeper), because there are no reservations. People cannot ask for special drinks at any of the restaurants; only soft drinks, draft beer or wine. In other resorts, a la carte restaurants not only offer cocktails but also offer premium  [... read more]brands. I was able to visit 3 of the a la carte restaurants and found that the wait was not worth it, specially at the asian restaurant that is also a buffet... Another one seemed to always be closed. I found that at the buffet restaurant the most popular items would run out quite fast and would take time for them to be replaced (eg ketchup, syrup, guacamole). Finally there was no room service which is very useful specially with small children. The rooms are spacious, almost no decoration, the bathrooms are also spacious, but hand only soap, body wash/shampoo and towels are offered, none of the other things that can be found at other hotels is offered at this one (body lotion, mouth wash, sawing kit, conditioner, shower cap etc...). Finally quite a few times they ran out of clean beach towels and people would have to wait to get new ones (even tough the resort limits to 2 changes of towels per day per room).

Riu Caribe Cancun: Fantastic hotel

Older hotel but very clean. Staff was great - was greeted by name by the waiters in the restaurant. Beach was kept clear of seaweed. Never any long lines at the front desk or at the bars. Room was cleaned daily. A great experience and would love to come back!

Riu Emerald Bay: Second trip is a charm

We went for the second time March 1 to March 15 2022. Two weeks not a drop of rain blue skies and sunshine our whole trip. Covid testing was a breeze had a little wait but not bad. We love this resort from the workers to food and cleanliness. Beautiful resort with beautiful people. My most favorite person is the cleaning lady Veronica in the main buffet she is such a hard worker we love her so much. Can't wait to return only next time will be 3 weeks. Riu Tequila: Wonderful Service!

The Riu Tequila was a great experience. The food was excellent - buffet was great and had a vast variety of foods, and the a la carte restaurants were good and convenient (not having to reserve was really appreciated). Room was nice (especially the bathroom) and well-appointed. Grounds were meticulously maintained. Entertainment was okay, but the Neon Party must be experienced! There was a pool for everyone (kids, quiet folk, and a more 'energetic' crowd!). A bit of a walk to the beautiful beach (missed seeing the beach all the time), but the overall experience made up for it. Well-done Riu!

Riu Dunamar: Amazing resort

Hotel very nice and clean Food always fresh staff very friendly beach nice and clean We have very nice weather But still windy yellow and red flag every day i heard it's normal for Cancun all of that 4.5. Don't know story about environment fees i been few times in Mexico never pay fees at the hotel

Riu Lupita: Awesome place!

I just returned from a week at RIU LUPITA, and had an amazing time. I took my mom for her 75th birthday, and even she had a great time!! I definitely recommend going to the cenotes, it’s worth the money. And the best bartender (Santos) works there. The staff is friendly, hard working and there to please. We are already planning on going back for 2 weeks.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

Everything was great and we really enjoyed are stay at this resort. Will likely return in the future. However we were disappointed on the side trip to Cosamal. There was too much time traveling and little to see there

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Excellent Resort

The grounds were beautiful and well groomed, the public areas were aesthetically pleasing, well maintained and very clean. The food was excellent with plenty of Gluten Free options however they were not always labelled but I was able to ask and someone was always willing to assist.

Riu Montego Bay: disappointing resort

The restaurants are hit and miss not consistent quality , The entertainment was brutal and while your watching the show there is nothing else going on no beach party or other things to do. So your choice is watch the lousy show or go to bed , the booze was sub standard and watered down no premium booze all week i never had the same drink twice trying to find a decent drink also not consistent RUI OWNES THREE PROPERTIES IN A ROW i wanted to go see what the other hotels were all about incase i [... read more] liked them better and wanted to stay there next time around, we kept getting thrown out the other two hotels can come and go as the please to our hotel but it is forbidden for us to even walk through they even cut the beaches off for no access all 100% true

Riu Tequila: Riu Tequilla, Mexico

We needed a stress reliever after 2 years of no vacations, this resort was clean, well spread out so social distancing was not a problem, the food and staff were amazing. I highly reccomend this resort for rest and relaxation with a hint of excitement. Sincerely, Deanna & Aaron

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Good not great

The hotel is nice. Weather is amazing. The food isn’t the best. Everything starts to taste the same after a while. Had to leave the resort to eat something with taste. You have to ask for the top shelf liquor. It’s not given to you which is weird as it’s supposed to be the reason for staying at a “palace” riu instead of the regular resort. The guanacaste is much nicer in my opinion considering the price difference. Would have been nice to know before hand as that was a reason for choosing the palace instead.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Awesome resort.

Piano in lounge was noisy and hard to hear for all of us when in a conversation. Suggest soft music and piano in a more outside area. Would of liked more washrooms. entertainment 9am instead of 9:30. Bar closer to beach. Overall it was an awesome resort. Also room 4071 had a bowl they just purchased removed from their room and not returned. This was Nancy and Jim’s room

Riu Palace Jamaica: First time to this resort not our last

Absolutely beautiful. We have travelled for many years staying at different Riu Hotels. 15 out of 10 on everything. Food excellent rooms clean grounds amazing staff 15 out of 10 very friendly and always wanting to serve you on every wish. Riu Negril: Great beach to do some snorkeling

Great vacation place! The hotel service was great, people are very friendly!! The Hotel is clean, and we really enjoyed the ocean front room. Was worth the extra money to us, all rooms are a nice size and bathrooms are in good shape. We enjoyed a drink on the balcony every evening before dinner and we likely would not have used it so much in not ocean front. There is a great snorkeling patch on this resort which is unique to here and we loved that. Spent an hour each day snorkeling and seen lots! But it does have some seaweed and a few rough patches where the other beaches do not. Our only disappointment was in the drinks - we would like a premium alcohol. Easy fix to just grab a bottle in the duty free on the way and have in your room for the evening. The food was good, main dinning just as good as the restaurants they offer. I feel this was a great value for the money and it was so beautiful 🌴🇯🇲. You will enjoy!

Riu Guanacaste: Good resort

Resort was nice, clean and staff friendly. Dealing with covid was fine. No real issues. Resort was only about 50% at capacity. Down fall of resort is beach is not used for swimming as Pacific Ocean is rough.

Riu Republica: Rui Republica Lives up to its name

This is definitely a party hotel !! It’s perfect for 20+ & 30+ who are looking for that bar music, loud, party pool !! I took my 4 adult sons, ages 23,25, 25 & 29 and they had a blast !! I mean they partied until almost the next mornings many nights. So if you want a party hotel, this is it !! The shows were ok, too short tho, some 30 mins, some 40-45 maybe, not the 1hr shows like at other hotels. Lots of nightlife, disco opens at 11pm, sports bar going all night Lots of nice places to sit and relax day and night ALL The staff were always friendly My boys were also happy because it seems like it was the European school break !! There were tonnes of young beautiful women from all over the world, especially from Europe & Russia My 4 boys would 1000% go back Me? Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Relaxing expansive beautiful resort

Pros: great service, friendly staff, excellent food (exception: chicken enchiladas were bland), plentiful drinks and accommodating bartenders who welcomed our crazy cocktail suggestions! Despite lack of reservations always got a seat at the restaurant of our choice - favourites were Fusion and Japanese and the Buffet. Just keep aware of which days they are closed(!) The ocean was warm, sea bottom very clean ! The surf was very calm the first few days and exciting roller-surf the last few! The sand is a cardio-challenge but you will adapt quickly! So many pools to choose from and we loved the gazebo awnings - sun when you wanted it, shade when you needed it. Pools with swim up bars were not crowded and kept very clean. Pool rules strictly enforced - especially kids kept out of adult only pools. Plenty of activity choices to suit anyone! Nightly shows were entertaining.Hint: use the app to keep track of what is going on. It is a very large spread out resort so you will do a lot of walking but it balances out all of the eating… :-) Well manicured property and very elegant decor and hardscapes. Plenty of places to hang out with others or be private with your SO. This resort is quiet and relaxing- you will need to do excursions or go next door to the disco for a noisier livelier crowd. There were some children staying there but most families stayed next door at the Dunamar. (The water park is shared between them). The rooms are lovely, and they were super clean. Room service and minibar service was good. Con: only one - the mattress in our room was mushy and the edges were all worn and collapsed/ nonexistent! Easy fix - just get better mattresses! COVID: the resort handled the protocols very well and I felt safe during our entire stay.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort

This was truly a five star ⭐️ hotel. The hotel was open and spacious, the rooms were nice, the beach was spectacular with powder sand and well placed palm trees. The water was clear and warm with no seaweed on beach. The food was excellent in all restaurants including the buffet. The staff was attentive and overall everything was clean and beautiful.

Riu Palace Antillas: White Sand Beach & Amazing Service

My husband and I have always wanted to go to Aruba and decided to play it safe and go with an all inclusive. I loved everything about this hotel except one thing, the a la cart restaurants. We stuck to the buffets and went out for dinner a couple nights. Please, do yourself a favour and have dinner at a restaurant outside the hotel, so many within walking distance, or grab an electric scooter. You won’t be disappointed. We [... read more] had a basic room but it exceeded our expectations, I believe it was recently renovated so much nicer than the pictures I saw when booking. I believe we got lucky that the hotel was not at full capacity so we always had greats spots at the beach and pool area. The entertainment staff was awesome and kept the energy going. My husband and I are in our mid thirties and found the majority of people staying there were 45 plus so don’t go expecting a big party. However, that’s not to say there wasn’t a party vibe, it was more mature but perfect for the type of trip we were looking for. Also, room service sucks, good luck getting food late night. If I had to change one thing, they need more food options for the people who go dancing till 1am lol! Overall, it was a great time and certainly recommend if it’s your first time to Aruba. PS do the side by side tour, so much fun!
