Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very good

The waiters and bar tenders etc were amazing very friendly and efficient I will come back because of them The room was good and clean and the maid service was excellent There were tiny little bugs sometimes in the bathroom counter but have to expect that Towels were clean and so was linen

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Disappointed

We were very disappointed on our 2nd visit to Playa. We were there 5 yrs ago and were very happy with everything and decided to return. The resort has not been kept up at all. We found it to be on the dirty side. The throw pillows on the bed were very very dirty, asked housekeepers for clean ones but they just took the dirty ones and never came back with clean ones. Buffet was cold all the time. they had 2 coffee machine but only had one operational the whole week. They also didn't have enough m [... read more]ugs so people were using soup bowls just to get their morning coffee. They also had 2 toasters but again only one operational which can make quite a long wait with that amount of people wanting toast for breakfast.I had gotten ALOT of bug bits, not sure what from but very itchy and only went away after being home for this past week. They still are some of the best beaches I have ever seen. Very windy most of the week but can't control Mother Nature. Sorry to say but I will not be returning to Playa Cayo Santa Maria.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Average resort

The grounds of the resort was very well kept. Rooms were well kept. The buffet dinning room was not as well kept. Chair cushions were dirty the place mates were dirty. There was a shortage of spoons really bad shortage. The menu at the buffet never change. Not enough variety. Staff was awesome. They displayed bottles of alcohol that they didn't have and never have.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Our Cuba Cottage

Our second trip to what we now refer to as our Cuba Cottage. Wonderful place if you like sparse crowds, stunning beach, good food, excellent music entertainment, and a Rock Star staff. We have made many friends here and will return again. Built in 2004, it is one of the older resorts on Cayo Santa Maria, but it is spotlessly clean, and you are quickly made to feel welcome.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Very good resort!

This was the nicest resort we have been to. The lobby is beautiful and modern, the rooms are really nice, everything is very well kept and very clean from the grounds and pools to the washrooms! Every staff member we spoke to was extremely nice and very helpful and made sure you had everything you need and were all very approachable. We had absolutely no issues with anything! Overall this really is a great resort!  [... read more]The beach is nice, a few shells in the sand but not enough for us to have to wear water shoes. They are in the process of opening a snack bar on the beach and it should be open any time now, also building washrooms at the beach. This was the best place we’ve been for shell collecting! All in all we were VERY pleased with this resort and would go back😊

Melia Las Dunas: Great resort

Las Dunas was a pleasant surprise. We have travelled to Cuba many times (10+) and have been progressing getting disappointed with Cuba and the service provided. Melia Las Dunas changes that the food was good BBQ everyday at lunch was amazing.. the room was well taken care of and the staff was awesome and very attentive. We would go back again

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Never disappointed

Second trip to Cayo Santa Maria Starfish. Have yet to be let down by this place. The staff are always positive, and work hard to give their guests a most pleasant stay. Improvements are constantly being made to better the guests experience. We fell in love with this beach and resort. Try it you’ll like it!

Melia Las Dunas: Nice Resort

The staff here were knowledgeable and were quick to clean up any mess. Grounds very clean. Very nice beach. Main buffet needs to have a variety to the menu. I have seen better nightly entertainment shows at other resorts.

Melia Las Dunas: Older resort but clean

The resort is older but it’s clean, the staff are very hard workers and very friendly. The beach was nice and again the staff were super helpful. The separate restaurants were great with good food, the buffet had quite a variety of food to choose from and I would recommend this resort.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Very good resort

My wife and I had a great time when the weather allowed.The food was good about 75% of the time. A couple disappointments - I called for maintenance service twice and the front desk said they would send someone but no one came, I had to fix one problem myself. Other than that everything else was great.

Right from the start it was terrible. We arrived late and the rooms were not ready. After 2 hours we finally demanded a room. The room was sufficient but no privacy as the bathroom had a glass wall that you could see everything that went on in it. We go to the snack bar hoping for a bite and was told they had no bread or buns so I had a hamburg patty. The buffet was very bad as the lines were long and very slow moving. We were told that we could change our beach towels every day. That did [... read more]n't happen as every time I went to change them no one was there. We also only got 1 change of bath towels the whole week. By the time we left they had a problem with their waste system and there was raw sewage draining from the sewer.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Terrible experience

Overall, this was not a good experience. The hotel would maybe be a 2.5 rating if that. The people were lovely and kind and they made our time enjoyable. The service was exceptional and that stands out amongst several other countries we’ve visited. That said, we went in expecting not great food, but a lot of it was really bad. The pool - several people cut their feet/legs on the side of the pool as they feel through plastic pieces that lined the pool. Someone was bleeding in the pool and nothing was done about it...super concerning swimming with someone’s bloody foot hanging there. This happened at least 4 times while were there. The worst part were the delays...Sunwing, would never travel with this company again. We were delayed arriving and several hours delayed upon return (flight was supposed to leave Cayo Santa Maria at 5:30pm and didn’t leave until 1:30am. Cockroaches in the Cuban airport crawling up the walls. When I reached out to TripCentral about the delay they were very unhelpful. Overall, not great and would never go back to this resort. It should not be rated a 5 star!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

The hotel itself is beautiful, spectacular, it's a home away from home. Staff are friendly, helpful, accomodating. Great entertainment, esp. The "Audinos", enjoyed that very much...also the Group called "Amanecer". Great songs they rendered, unforgetable... Melia Las Dunas: Lovely resort

The resort was always clean, busy gardeners and room staff. It's quite a large resort so lots of walking. Hotel staff were always polite and friendly. Food and bar selections were somewhat limited but ok considering its Cuba. The beach was awesome.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Very Disappointing

Hotel rooms good.....Food or lack there of was ridiculous! Privlege package was good that gave priority check in and the seperate lounge area was a plus but their concierge response left a lot to be desired with the issues we did have. Would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Melia Las Dunas: Just Ok

Everything about this place was run down. We didn't have hot water in our room for 5 out of 7 days. It was a 2 hour drive from the airport. Hard to find a vegetable to eat! If you like mystery meat and fries then you will be fine. Don't expect fancy drinks, the bartenders don't know how to make anything. The Santa Clara airport won't take an E boarding pass so we had to wait an hour to get the stupid paper boarding pass.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Resort!

We have been going to this Resort for the last 5 years (17 weeks total). The beach and the ocean are remarkable! Extremely clean rooms, plenty of delicious foods and great A La Carte restaurants. Pools are extremely clean, drinks are not watered down and the a staff are the most kindest people we have ever met. Terrific management team that are always there to help you! The resort is perfect in every way except one minor setback for us.... Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Good resort

The main thing I didn't like was no one was stopping people from smoking in the theatre. They should have someone stopping people from walking across when the show is going, and only walking across in-between the songs. Pool and beach was good. Food was good most of the time.
