Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Will not be there any more

1, the food quality and option is a huge problem, even I knew there is a lack of food, but not think it is that bad. 2, the service is not acceptable, to replace the towel need me talk to the guess service 4 times 3, we lost some money in the room, I know it it my fault, I did not lock the code case well. 4， there are so many flys sharing the food. 5, only good thing is free wifi.

Gran Muthu Imperial: It was a very good hotel

Room was very good, very clean and spacious. View was great. Food was ok. There was no bread for the better part of 5 days and never was there bacon. The entertainment we did not find very good. They were very new to the business i found. It is a very quiet resort. Beach is not the best but ok. The workers were very good and helpful when needed.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Amazing resort !

We just came back from this resort and can’t stop to talk about it . From the hotel room(perfectly cleaned every day by Lia , fridge stocked up ) Dining ( lots of it on daily buffets, the bread was not always there , but the yummy cheeses made up for it . We were never hungry . Tried many authentic Cuban dishes . Also we had dinner @ Japanese restaurant and that was amazing . We had 2 special lobster dinners with sparkling wine and a beautiful music . The grounds are nicely kept and you see pe [... read more]ople always working there . The beach is lovely and clean with enough chairs to sit . The pools are nice , big and sparkling clean . And again lots room to sit . And finally the staff . Where to begin ? We love them all ! They smile and are always ready to help. They really care to make people feel good and extra special . Thank you very much for that ! We very much appreciate you . The only thing I missed is nightly entertainment. There is a theatre ,but I never seen anything happening there . Sanctuary White Sands: Awesome resort!

Sanctuary White Sands provided a wonderful stay. Clean, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, decent food, fun activities, and awesome staff that did their very best to respond to any concerns. The beach is stunning and kept super clean by the staff at the resort. Loved every minute of our time there.

Melia Buenavista: Do not fly with Sunwing or Westjet

The stay at Melia Buena Vista was incredible...once we got there. Great service, beautiful beaches and serenity now. Visit this place when you get a chance but do not fly with Sunwing or Westjet. It took us 3 different planes to get to Cuba. The first plane turned around an hour into its flight due to a 'minor' mechanical issue that apparently could not be fixed in Cayo Santa Maria. This was after the entire cabin filled with jet engine fumes prior to takeoff. The second plane they put us o [... read more]n was also deemed 'not safe to fly' by the captain. After a 12 hour delay, we finally took off on a third plane. We lost one day of our 7 day vacation and a bunch of hair with that journey. We will not fly with Sunwing or Westjet (recently bought Sunwing) again.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Wonderful time

This was our second trip to Tryp. We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, beautiful beach, and lively pool. The staff are kind and considerate. There was no shortage of food or drink, and the resort is very well taken care of

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: I would rate this hotel a 0

The grounds were average The staff was wonderful and accommodating The rooms were below average. This is the 1st All Inclusive resort without a stocked minibar... The food was horrendous, no flavor, no hot sauces available...and the same thing was served for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, every day, for 7 days. There was no variety.

Sol Palmeras: Great Hotel & staff

We were extremely pleased with our stay at Sol Palmeras. From check in to check out we dealt with friendly and helpful staff. There were always lots of options to choose from for dining, bearing in mind that Cuba has had it's share of difficulties. We stayed in one of the bungalows which was clean, spacious and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property as a vacation choice.

Club Tropical: Didnt feel like a holiday

I have taken so long to write a review, as I did not know where to start! I only.had 7 days booked. Arrived at my hotel (Club Tropical) at approximately 4:00PM. I noticed that thought of giving a tip, is somewhat expected. I have worked hard to get a trip to Cuba, even though I give a fair amount of gifts and money to the workers of the hotel and workers for the hotel (evening performers). I have no problem with tipping, actually - I encourage it!, but when it is expected of me ~ I just want [... read more] to back off my tipping! This year I REALLY noticed the ungratefulness, mainly the workers of the hotel. There is a small group of us that would like to meet up at Club Tropical, as many of us have friends that live close by. Due to the language barrier, I could not get a room on the 1st floor, until I met up with Sunwing the following day - we had success! This was a BIG deal, as I have had 2 back surgeries. Two days went by and was enjoying my trip. One evening the power flickered and eventually went out. The power was out still the next day. At 9:15 AM we were told that Sunwing customers were being sent to Iberostar and TransAt was being sent to Tuxpan, and we were told to be ready by 10:00AM. THIS IS WHERE MY VACATION, took a deep dive! I was unable to find my passport, trying to get answers from someone and was having a difficult time with that. Been through the 2 rooms that I had been assigned to...had maids help, had friends help. Looked through my luggage 5 times, my friend went through it a couple times too! Up until this point I have not been off the resort other than to check hours for the consulate and to talk with a friend of mine, directly across the street. Nobody had been invited into my room, not even the maids. One of the front desk clerks had to vouch for me, at the new hotel. The front desk staff at the new hotel(Iberostar)knew about my situation. I got my keys for my room, so dropped off my luggage off and went to the bar for a couple drinks. As I was leaving to go back to my room, a lady told me my passport was at the front desk. I immediately went to the front desk and I was given my passport back...such a relief, as this situation could have gone a multiple different ways. Club Tropical front desk staff gave my passport to someone else, we dont even look like each other. I have to say a BIG KOO~DOOS to the front desk staff at Iberostar!! We could not do the activities that the group wanted to, as we were split up. At the new resort we couldn't make arrangements for ala carte...we had no idea when were going back to Club Tropical. Two days at Iberostar and then back to Club Tropical, pack up again. We were to be ready for 10AM, for the buses to pick us up to return to Club Tropical. One more day of my vacation and all Ive done is move from here to there and back. Repacked up one more time, for my return flight home. We had a 2 hour delay but everything seemed to work out from there!. Arrived home at 12:08 AM, this trip left a terrible taste in my mouth. I spent $1300 for this trip, I really feel that I was taken advantage of and dont think Ill be able to do this next year! I have been to Varadero, Cuba many times and I know not to expect much...specifically this hotel, 9 times. Apparently, I was suppose to be offered a voucher for a submarine on the security side(because of the 2 hour delay), at the airport...I was not offered anything! I cant tell you the level of stress I was put through, once I realized my passport was missing! The hotel(Club Tropical)staff, also made me feel like I had lost my passport. They had, complete opportunity to return my passport to myself, as I was within 50 feet of the front desk, until midnight. Even after finding my passport, I had an extremely difficult time enjoying myself. Did not feel like a holiday, whatsoever... Rooms were clean, pools looked clean, the grounds workers do daily work, restaurant is buffet style and cooked fish, beef, chicken and pork. Saturday is Cuban Days... Most staff are great to talk to!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Very Relaxing, it did the job!

We just returned from Iberostar selection Encenachos. It was our third time there, the last was two years ago. This time it was just my husband and I. As always the beaches are stunning! Never disappoints and it is what draws us back. The last time we were here there were some days without eggs, bread, potatoes, beer etc...this time it was fine. Fries,pork,chicken….We even really enjoyed the white mild fish for lunch at the Megano beach. I’m not a fish eater but it was delicious. They have  [... read more]made and are in the process of making a lot of upgrades to the resort. So far it shows in the beauty of the lobby and its furniture and walkways. The rooms are adequate but it will be nice when the Reno’s are done on them too. We will definitely return!

Grand Memories Varadero: Love Cuba despite a few flaws

Overall, enjoyed stay Wifi spotty and unpredictable Room keys had to be reset 8-10 times Food variety greatly reduced post Covid. Fresh grilled fish amazing Rooms starting to look dirty and shabby. Sheets and towels were not changed during stay Staff helpful and pleasant A trip to Cuba is worth the few minor concerns

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Picture perfect

Excellent airy bright modern room.quality of mattress is very good.House keeping is done daily.Electric iron and iron board were provided.Hairdryer ,mini fridge also provided with beer and soft drinks being top up daily.

Melia Internacional: Outstanding resort

From booking with Danielle from trip central to getting on Sunwing airlines to arriving at Melia I cannot ask for a better experience. I have booked with trip central many times and let me tell you our agent is second to none fast service made the process of booking very easy. As for the resort well this is our third visit to the melia and in my opinion there is nothing else that compares in varadero cuba. From check in to check out first class. We traveled with family and it was there first time to Cuba I will just say they are already looking to book next year at the melia. The staff I just can’t get over how they remember you and it’s Hugs and how are you and welcome back. Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: 5* RESORT

We had a wonderful week in the elite section of this resort. The concierge service was exeptional as was the modern room. The beach was really nice and the pools were clean and warm. The food was plentiful as was the wine and rum, but there was no fish or shrimp. But there was lobster every day at the elite restaurant. We hope to come back again.

Sol Palmeras: Great Resort

Great hotel. The best beach I have seen. Our room had just been renovated and had great A/C. The water pressure was really good. The only things I missed was a swim up bar and a bar near the beach.

Starfish Jibacoa: Cozy Resort

Love this quaint little resort! It is very quiet here with all you need. Beach is great for snorkeling, and soaking up the sun. The rooms are dated but kept very clean by the hotel staff. The kitchen staff do their best with what they have and the wait staff are super friendly, especially when you are a returning guest. Only bad thing I have to say, is they are now letting locals come to the resort, which I don't have a problem with but they can be rude at the buffet line and greedy with th [... read more]e food leaving not much for the foreign tourists, hopefully they will find a solution to this. . All and all I would keep coming back!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good value for the price

This was our second time to this resort. The first time being 10 years ago. Definitely not in the same condition as back then. The rooms definitely need a refresher. Pillows were terrible and our refrigerator did not work. Pool was nice, beach was nice and the food was surprisingly very good for being Cuba.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: We'll return!

This was our fourth time to Cuba, and it was our favourite visit so far. We loved the resort, the beach was spectacular, and as with every place we've visited in Cuba, the staff were lovely. The food was quite good at the resort, and I loved that the bars had espresso and cappuccino machines. There was only one other resort beside us, and on the other side was a large lake and estuary. Walking along the beach in that direction was wild and gorgeous. Thanks to the nature on that side, the birds a [... read more]nd bird song around us was the cherry on the top. Make sure to pack bug repellant, though. As with many beaches and tropical countries, the tiny no-see-ums will make quick work of your legs. Once I put a bit of repellent on my legs, I didn't have a problem. Also, remember it's Cuba. There might be the odd power outage or maintenance issue. However, this resort has been the best of the lot so far! Loads of people at the resort had been going there year after year. I can see why. You can now count me among them! This place is wonderful.

Melia Varadero: Awesome Resort

Great resort, amazing staff, spectacular views and the food was some of the best that we have had in Cuba ( it was our 12th trip there ) Highly recommend it !! The only downfall to our trip is that it is not very a good resort is you want to use a scooter or a walker !! No access to the adult pool or go to the beach which would have been nice to be able to do !! We would rate it a 4****

Memories Jibacoa: Exceeded our expectations!!!

We have always thought that this resort looked interesting and had never pulled the trigger…. We’re so glad we did!!! The room was very comfortable and clean. There was ample hot water. The mini fridge was well stocked with water, soft drinks and a couple of beer. Nobody goes to Cuba for fine dining, but the food was very good with lots of choices. There is a bakery onsite and the breads and rolls are delicious!!! There’s a beautiful coral reef right off the beach, a mountain to climb with an a [... read more]mazing view from the top and all sorts of organized daily activities if you’re so inclined. There’s also nightly entertainment that usually finishes up around 10:30. One of the very best things about this resort is the staff. They go above and beyond!!! We can’t wait to go back!!
