Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Nice looking resort

The rooms were large well kept property. We had problems with the air conditioning system & toilet being blocked & overflowing. The staff are friendly. The food was okay, there was lots of selections but reservations hard to get for our stay. Teppanyaki was a waste not enough food & no show we were done in 30 minutes & hungry. Beach was well kept we liked the service at the beach & even with seaweed season enjoyed the water. Entertainment was excellent day & night.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great stay!

Great stay. Smaller resort compared to the others that I went to but people are very nice in the resort including the staff. Food is not too bad. Could be better in terms of sea food as the reason why we travel into places like this is for sea food selection. Other than that it's good and I was happy in my stay.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Three star hotel not four

Rooms are very outdated, this hotel is focused on their privileged guests, regular rooms are awful. The room we stayed in was missing hairdryer, the fridge was filthy, ceiling was leaking. The room was not ready for guests, linens were dirty and it took 3 calls to front desk for housekeeping to come and change the bed sheets.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Resort Needs Work!

Room: The rooms need updating. The door lock didn’t work. We had to call service 4 times to have safe fixed. The power outlet came out of wall when unplugging hair dryer. The floor shower cap was not secured to floor. The toilet leaked water all over the floor. Cockroaches in room. Construction taking place next door for Bavaro resort so very noisy from morning to late afternoon. Shuttle: VERY hard to get shuttle from room. Basically had to walk all the time. Food: NO variety. Same food each  [... read more]day. Service: was okay but people not very friendly unless you spoke Spanish. Beach: was okay. They tried their best to clean seaweed. Last 2 days they closed off a portion of the beach so access was limited. Pools: were clean but very limited seating options. Entertainment: only 2 nights they had a show but they were in a very small space and very crowded. Lobby personnel: were rude and not helpful.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Vista Sol in Punta Cana

This is our second time at this resort and it does not disappoint. I highly recommend it. Great service. Food is very good with a big selection. The restaurants are very good too. Clean spacious rooms with beautiful grounds and pools. The beach is steps away and beautiful. I would definitely be returning in the future.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Disappointed

We go to all inclusive because of the beach, we care less about the pool. We did not enjoy the beach at all. Very disappointed because of the mountain of seaweed. We tried to go swim despite of and got itchy afterwards. The lock of our balcony door is broken. We told the air Transat representative but nobody came to fix. The air transat rep does not care because we did not get our tours with him. The bellboy who brought our luggage to our room seems to be not happy, checking out, we didn’t both [... read more]er to get a bellboy, we did it on our own. Some staff are friendly and some just don’t care, you have to wait to get your water filled. We enjoyed 2 nights out of 7 of the night entertainment. The other five nights are catered for Latino’s. Our flight was delayed 7 hours without proper noticed. We could have stayed in our room and do a late check out instead of waiting in the lobby where it was really hot. The only thing we enjoyed was the quietness and the food.

Secrets Royal Beach: Very good resort!

The grounds were very well kept. Rooms were clean. The food at the à la carte restaurants were excellent, as was the buffet. Upon check-in they tried to sell and upgrade you to the Preferred Club at a very high price. Our suggestion would be to purchase it when booking the hotel. The beaches were clean other than the seaweed slowly rolling in and the vendors were very persistent trying to sell their goods.

Ocean El Faro: Wonderful hotel

I had a wonderful vacation with my family. There are many activities for children. The room is spacious and bright. The food is excellent. Everything was always delicious and there was a variety of dishes. The resort area is large, there is room to walk around. The only thing is that we were unable to swim in the ocean because of the big waves and algae. But overall we enjoyed our vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

1st time staying at Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda and definitely will go back. Grounds were amazing, so much to do. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Junior Suite, well kept room. Room was cleaned everyday by TANIA. Mini fridge stocked daily. 2 big pools, 1 relaxation pool with 3 whirlpools...lots of seating, cabanas included. Beach was great. Bars, restaurants so much to eat and drink.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Decent resort

Enjoyed our stay at this resort. Clean good food and friendly staff. Did a great job of cleaning sea weed off beach. Only negative was too many people on beach trying to sell stuff. Seemed to much at times. But overall was a nice trip.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Not the best place

We stayed July 8 to 15, 2025. First this resort caters to local clients so be aware of that. Weekend was full capacity, 90% local folks with a very crowded pool and long lines at buffet. Room: Oceanview luxury swimup. Room is on smaller size(not a junior suite). Not luxury by any means. First Room the swim up was filled with green algae. 2nd room was better but bad stink from shower drain. Covered with wet cloth when not in use. Maid service was good. They do rent rooms out on a nightl [... read more]y basis and had a local couple who had a pot party in the room next to us. They were smoking it in their room which filtered into ours. Yes, I complained but nothing done but took the maid 4 hours to clean the room the next day. that was a rough night for us. Pool and beach: After the weekend pool was very cloudy. Pool needs repairs. Bottom has broken floor in spots so watch your feet. Beach is ok for walking. No sargassum but some sea grass. Not safe to swim there with the current and waves. Food: buffet not good. Food was geared to local cuisine. With the crowd on the weekend stuff ran out fast. Service was slow but eventually they came to your table. Snack and sports bar food was OK. Steak, Italian, and Asian was so so. Coffee, ice cream and pizza shops were good. Entertainment: they try hard. Been to other resorts with much better. No English spoken while I was there. Bars: I had a few occurrences of waiting for some time for a drink and a local came up and they were served first so gave up. Drinks were not the best anyway. We mostly stuck with pepsi from the room. I would not recommend this place.

Beautiful Clean Average to above for food, but 3/4 of us became sick (1st time - we have been about 8 times) Good swim-up bar party pool Awesome quiet pool (Infinity), however, to look like a true infinity pool, the garden and sign need to be removed so that the pool looks like it goes into the ocean Great view of the beach while having breakfast at Be Loved (peanut butter toast is good, and so is the avocado toast) The privilege section is great with beds and an awesome waiter named Marco [... read more]s, who is very attentive The beach is not great as the water is murky and has seaweed, walk to the family area for a better swim (prefer the beach at Riu or Bahia, but prefer Catalonia resort itself) Like the small size of the resort (adult only), as you can walk anywhere - no need to take a trolley, unlike Bahia and Riu If you want more restaurants and parties, you can venture over to the family side Great atmosphere and drinks at the piano bar, plus a light-up robot costume performance one night I love sitting at the Thalassia restaurant after dinner with drinks, watching the poolside shows (circus acrobatics, Dominican music, karaoke, singing...). Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Not a 5-star

The staff were only friendly when I slipped them US cash. The staff have disdain for English-speaking people. My attempts to speak Spanish were received by mocking me. One server made fun of my son for his stutter and ignored him after that. No one showed us around on the first day. The valet just told us to use the app to orient ourselves. The app had the restaurant hours wrong. Food was great. The beach was terrible. I had a better experience at a 3-star in Mexico and Cancun. I will never go b [... read more]ack.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Amazing resort

The food was beyond excellent, the rooms were good. However the communication between the hotel staff needs to be much better. The air conditioning stopped working and it took almost 7 hours to get another room. Also when I was switched to another room the air conditioner was not working there either, they staff needs to make sure something works before giving it to the guest. But I would go back to this resort because other factors which are the food, the hotel staff, the weather and overall experience is a 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Not so grand!

The hotel was ok the rooms were crowded and there were ants. The beach was not clean at all the see weed was in mountains definitely not maintained and the hotel did not even try. The beach was terrible if you are looking for a resort with a pool and beach this is not it. The pool area was large but since the beach was not enjoyable everybody was at the pool area which made it crowed and the water dirty. The slide area for kids was not well maintained and most of the slides caused bruising or [... read more] scrapes when trying to go down the kids only used the area twice out of 7 days.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing People

The staff at resort were amazing. Alfredo Michel is the man and made everything too easy. The two guys in the entertainment named King Kong and Hector were some of the funniest people I’ve met in years. Really a great trip.

Playabachata Hotel: I would think twice

My time was a mixed emotion. On 1 hand I enjoyed my time and the environment. However, the room needs upgrade, the food needs improvement, some staff are rude and behave as though you are begging them the food or the drinks. The photos depict what was and not what is. They also show some part of the other hotel that is ran by the same company. The wifi was only in the lobby unless you want a “upgrade”. The 2 staff Andres and Carlos from the general information office were amazing help. Overall, I do not believe this would be the best place to promote as their main goal is to continue to build and not up keep the old ones.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: This is the hotel to be in if you're heading to Cabarete for water sports

First and foremost - make sure you're flying into Puerta Plata! Air Canada is running a scam with flights to Samana and the transfer to Cabarete is a 2hrs+ drag each way. Not worth it, never mind the time wasted. Second - it has been known for years that one does not go to this hotel for food - and that hasn't changed. Somehow they are managing to have worst food experience than Cuba - which in itself - is an admirable achievement! But give it a few days and you will also come to the [... read more] conclusion - that they just want you to be eating outside of the hotel and thus - supporting their local economy. Not like there's a lack of choices in that regard. Thirdly - learn to pick your battles when it comes to getting drinks at the bar. There's only one and it will be very frustrating if you'll be following the herd. Other than the points above - I had a great stay overall. Lovely hotel with a small footprint where everything is only a few steps away. Very decent, clean rooms. Don't get the "ocean view" if you care for good sleep - pool parties go on forever at night.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Mrs

The food is not so good the taste is salty, the pork meat is hard and the fish is not fresh, The staff are friendly and the cleaner is nice. The beach is not so clean as it’s full of seaweeds. The train should have more to accommodate the people that are waiting too long.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Great All Inclusive Resort!!

Beautiful pools and very busy resort, especially at the beachside pool 4.5 star rating. Plenty of daily activities available for all ages. Dining options and food quality made to order is definitely 5 star rating. The buffets quality of food is all about timing! Extremely hot weather 35’C every day, bring plenty of sunscreen. Rooms could definitely use an update, especially the bathrooms 3 star rating.
