Punta Cana Princess: Great Resort!!!
Loved the resort. Was small and quaint. Rooms were beautiful. Grounds were well kept. Food at all restaurants was great. Entertainment staff worked hard all day mingling with the guests. Will definitely return.
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing
My wife and I were overwhelmed by the welcoming, courtesy, friendliness of the staff at Bahia Principe Club. Accomodation , restaurant variety, activities and entertainment was more than what we anticipated . Every employee went over and above their call of duty.
Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very happy with my 1st Iberostar experience
Overall I enjoyed our stay. We were there from Feb 12 to 19, 2016. Very impressed with Iberostar as a resort destination. I will definitely pick an Iberostar resort for future bookings. The only complaint is that the Dominican Republic continues to sink lower in my choice of islands to visit. The water is not potable. The resort is very safe but we were warned about venturing off the resort. The resort is extremely clean, but once you are off the resort it is quite depressing to see all the garb [... read more]
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Never Disappointed
This was our 3rd time to Casa Marina Reef and as the title says "Never Disappointed " if you are looking for a 5 star this is not for you. We are not fussy people and I would say this is a 3 star plus.. There was always something to eat and not once did we get sick. You cannot drink the water..but are given 2 bottles in your room upon arrival. . After that you fill up at the filtered water stations.. You will also get a bottle of Brugal Rum and a bottle of Vodka in your room as well as a bottle [... read more]
Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great Family Resort
Beautiful family resort with lots to do. The grounds were well maintained, rooms clean, many pools to enjoy, but our family loved the activity pools where there was always entertainment going on. The water park was fun for the entire family. The Selections Buffet had a wide variety of foods for all to enjoy. I was disappointed with the long wait at the A la Carte Restaurant(Mexican, Italian & Seafood). The Zen Restaurant was good, but had to pay extra for access. The beach was clean and beautifu [... read more]
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Relaxing and beautiful.
This is an older resort but still lovely. This was my third year in a row to this resort and I plan on going back. My room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. I am not a picky eater and not having to cook for a week, everything was wonderful. The beach is great too. I found all employees at the resort very pleasant, any I encountered always said hello with a smile. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!
The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Loved the Resort!
This resort is beautiful, lush, and very well taken care of. We stayed in the villas in "1000" room range and loved it. The only thing I would caution about the Villas is the stairs. You must be able to do lots of stairs. The villas also have a pool, nice and quiet and lovely. There are 5 pools at the resort and 2 beaches which makes it easy to move around and always find a spot for the day. This is a smaller resort which means no line up, lots of variety, and really lovely. I wouldn't recommend [... read more]
Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great VAYCAY!
The hotel was very clean and had lots to do. Many activities by pool. Many pools to have your choice as to where to lounge. Also right on beach and lots of space there as well. Food was good and never had trouble getting a place at Buffett or even the El a Carts. Staff was friendly and tried hard to communicate even if they had little English but most had good English. I would defiantly go back to this resort.
Caribe Deluxe Princess: Great Value excellant friendly staff
The grounds are well maintained, the beach is beautiful, one of the nicest beaches in the Dominican, you could walk for miles. The resort itself is a little dated, but kept very clean since it is an older resort the rooms are larger with plenty of storage for personals, refreshing, not the case with some of the newer, more luxurious resorts. Friendly staff that go out their way to please. Food was good, Overall quite pleasantly surprised!
Melia Tropical: A beautiful resort
Large resort but fet very comfortable. Beautiful grounds, it is about a 10 minute walk to the beach from the rooms nearest the main buildings, or can take then frequent choo choo train shuttle. Room was very nice, modern, everything was in order, well kept. Food was pretty good. We ate almost always athe buffets at the main building and at beachfront. A la crates are nice, and reservations are not required which is nice. Beach is very nice, lots of space, but it was quite weedy near shore during [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Lovely setting!
The hotel room we stayed in was very nice but quite small. There was not much room to move around in the room due to the king size bed. The shower leaked a lot whenever it was used and we had to soak up the water with towels. We did not get any facecloths in our room but others we asked had them in theirs. The buffet was great and had plenty of selection. The food was delicious! The a la carte restaurants were exceptional! Overall, we were pleased with the service, food, facilities and the frien [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very Large, & wonderful resort
We loved the resort, staying at the newer area, Ambar 2, the rooms were very nice and always cleaned. The grounds are very well maintained, the buffet's were well stocked, & lots to choose from. Some of the best food we've had at buffets. The al-la cartes were easy to book & very good, lots of variety/types to choose from. The pools were clean, the beach was amazing.
Occidental Caribe: Great time to be had!
The grounds are beautiful, and there are a variety of restaurants to have a la carte meals at for lunch and dinner. You will find something - food wise - that is to your liking. Rooms are comfortable, amenities were good. Only issue was the line ups at the bars - unfortunately US college reading week will cause line ups -and no designated area for free WiFi- this was disappointing, as all the resorts offer free WiFi for at least a limited time and at a designated area. I can understand paying if [... read more]
Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Beware of con artists on the premises
We were staying in Junior Suite Deluxe. The ceiling above the tub was showing signs of water leakage from above. People were very nice and polite. Food was not good except breakfast which was quite decent. Stay away from high-pressure selling artists of Exclusive Traveler Club.
Excellence Punta Cana: Excellent Vacation at Excellence Resort
This resort is phenomenal! I had the best vacation of my life. The staff is very attentive to all your requests and needs. There were more restaurants than we had nights available to try them all, and the food was fresh and very well prepared. The spa was quite luxurious, my wife went for several appointments. The beach is better for playing in the surf than swimming, but that is what we wanted as it is also quite picturesque. It is an adults only resort that seems to cater to couples, or at lea [... read more]
Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!
Has been sold to new owner no longer Celuisma. Rooms horrible, moved 3 times. First room was dirty and musty. Second room no lock, no fridge, bathroom taps leaked and no phone. Food worse than Cuba by far. My opinion shared by most guests. Staff made it tolerable. Loved the cleaning staff.
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Pretty good for the price.
The general manager does an amazing job of creating a soothing atmosphere amidst all the chaos that made my vacation peaceful. The servers, cleaners and entertainment love their jobs and made it very obvious that they wouldn't want to be any where else. So clean, comfortable and accommodating. It was Independence Day while I was there and the parades and entertainment were superior for the area. The head chef is talented and obviously caters to everyone's needs. So many choices and wonderful fla [... read more]
Riu Merengue: Wonderful Resort!
I loved the time spent at this resort.Everything from the food to the amenities to the grounds were top notch. The only downside was that there were never enough chairs at the pool side, the beds were hard ( like all resorts I have been to) and the lobby at our resort(the Village Merengue) was nothing special and needed updating. Otherwise,we would definitely go back and might stay at the Bachata.
Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: no wow for me!!!
This experience did not wow me at all. Suite was very dated air conditioning was broken. Resort was too spread out. Too many sales pitches all day. Overall not impressed at all. Very disappointed with our stay
Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Beautiful long beaches
I really liked the fact that the resort was big, and even though it was full you never felt crowded. The people were very friendly and helpful. The beaches were amazing for walking every day. The food was great. There was a wonderful variety of fruits and vegetables at every meal. The weather , not that they can control it, but during my time it was perfect. The suite I was in was nice and clean, the housekeeping staff were very discreet when doing their jobs. People were very helpful with there [... read more]
