Catalonia Yucatan: Amazing Resort!!

We will go back for sure. Speedy check in the rooms were clean and the grounds were beautiful felt very safe in this gated community we walked to the Marina a few times seen the sea lions, dolphins, Mantees for free watching the trainers work with them...The staff was very friendly and the food was really good and being at a small resort they had a lot going on they had live entertainment at night before the shows which was good...Really liked having WiFi everywhere. Only thing though buying things there were expensive confusing trying to figure out the money exchange .. We went on a couple of tours they were both great Emotions native tour the side by side tour with zip lining and swam in a cenote.. and the other was EKBalam Cenote Maya which was amazing as well.a great experience..

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Very large resort

We found the reception area needs to be better staffed as it's always so busy. That was the only thing but it is the first impression so that's why we felt it was important to mention. We were a bus full of people arriving at the hotel and reception was not fully staffed. We stood in line to get checked in for approx. 20 - 25 minutes to get checked in. People with children were getting as kids were antsy. They did not give out room keys but told us to come back in 30 - 40 minutes to get them [... read more] (that was fine as we went to enjoy a cool drink and a bite to eat). They said it would be fast just handing out the key to us later. About 45 minutes later we went to stand in line again to get the key. Once we got to the front of the line the staff person who was giving out the keys just walked away without saying a word. After a few minutes all of us in line started wondering what happened was he sick, did he go for a break? Finally, we asked a supervisor that was just standing there the whole time if someone was coming back as there was still a line up to get our room key. It was only then that he said something to a staff person and she started handing out the keys. The hotel was clean, we had a very nice room with big bathroom. The hotel grounds were beautiful. We loved the gym and the exercise classes. There was lots of selection at the buffet all the time. The beach was beautiful.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Quite good if don't like swimming in the ocean, otherwise poor.

Almost everything about this resort was quite good except for the following: 1. I like to swim in the clear pristine ocean waters. The water was absolutely awful, no swimming, at most wading. Black murky water only about waste deep at the buoys. Couldn't see your feet. Broken coral/rocks strewn around, and a mud type bottom, not sand as you'd expect. The sand beach area was fine however. 2. Exchange rate in lobby was horrible/pirates. In Canada I could buy 14 pesos for $1 Cdn. Lobby was 10 pes [... read more]os for $1 Cdn. In Canada 20 pesos for $1 USA. Lobby was 15 pesos for $1 Cdn. Lobby taxis and resort stores also gave this horrible conversion. I wish I had known these 2 things before going. Beach/pools question: Very poor because of ocean water/swimming. Pools separately were good, and sand beach was good. Location: would have been good except location for swimming/ocean water is very poor.

Allegro Cozumel: Great holiday!

The grounds of this resort were very well kept. The rooms were very nice. The thatched roof added an authentic touch. The entertainment that we saw was mediocre. The food was good especially the Italien restaurant. The maid could have cleaned a bit better. I found the floor to be gritty at times. The towels were not always replaced. The beach was good. It would be nice if there was a comfortable place to sit out after dinner to have drinks. We had a great time and I would return here.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great Resort & staff

It was a good resort small but clean. My mom and i had a great time. The staff were polite and fun. Food was good. Room we're very clean and service was great. The resort had a smaller beach than expected but was very clean. The good side of it is that no matter what time we woke up to go to the beach we always had a chair in the sun or shade. Everything was close together. The only downside for me is that they did not have a Expresso Machine is the lobby only in the buffet so everytime i wante [... read more]d onei had to wait for the Buffet to open. Again it's not a big deal but would be a good idea to add one to the Lobby Bar.

El Cid Resort Castilla: Long Overdue Getaway!

Not even the bee sting on the very last day could dampen our spirits! But let me get back to that… It was a really long winter in fact it was a considerably long 2016 without much reprieve or downtime so this was a welcome change of pace so long overdue! Let me start with Violette. Room 4082 was not just cleaned but artistically dressed by a special lady who made concerted effort to take our stay to the next level - it was incredibly nice to feel so spoiled with the fancy bed displays and bathroom swans… all the extras. Attention to detail is the thing - always has been. But more than that, it was her sweet and gracious energy. And Ivanx, our server in the lounge - the relaxing pool and ocean view lounge with the gigantic wide open windows - was fast, friendly and helpful. Always available to assist. Fun Juan who smiled broadly upon our arrivals, always with a welcoming air. When we said our farewells he welcomed us back soon...though doubtful about that tomorrow thing 😂 Johny, our tour guide - last but not least was a master at handling the details and follow thru. My daughter and I enjoyed his fun-filled nature, suggestions and guidance. The bee sting? It became tangled in my hair - much to the little guys distress, and ahem...mine. Tried to help him out but in his panic - and ultimately mine - (bees aren't keen on being touched) I was stung. Our fast to react pool server put priorities first and although orders were rapidly mounting for the adult beverages - he prepared the ice pack - my daughter ran for the balsamic in a flash of an eye (vinegar reduces inflammation and numbs the pain) and unbeknownst, our waiter who had disappeared - I assumed to serve thirsty patrons - reappeared instead, with the lifeguard who immediately removed the venom and stinger. I survived, with minimal discomfort in fact. When you think about every single one of your lifetime experiences…the maps, the compasses, locations, and settings... It's the people that we choose to join us on our journeys that really do make the difference. We made some five star choices this getaway❤

Ocean Riviera Paradise: March 22 Oceam Riviera Paradise

Hotel is new and is great shape.....Although too large for My personal preference, would highly recommend for families as lots for young children to do. Beach not the greatest with some rocks in water. However good long stretch in either direction for walking and exploring.

Samba Vallarta: comfortable.... again

I have been here before and they have updated the hotel but kept the friendly family feeling. Rooms large and clean with great water pressure. Food better (though was good before and the egg/omelet area lady is amazing). Alcohol plentiful and the bartenders fast and friendly-Bruno at the lobby bar knew your drink, would make more and was so fast!! The bats at 730p.m.-amazing!! Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Trip!

The resort itself is beautiful. Absolutely stunning. It's very clean and all of the employees are professional and polite. Our room was spacious and luxurious. Food was great, although more lunch options by the beach would be nice. The pools were great, but the main pool was loud and at times, did get inappropriate. The hotel is very chic so I was surprised by some of the behaviour that was allowed by the guests. All in all, we enjoyed our stay!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Most beautiful resort!

Our small family went to this resort with our 2.5 year old son. We loved the rooms. The beds were very comfy, the rooms were very large and spacious. The balcony was a great way to spend late nights to have a romantic time together while our little one slept. The food was the best we've had anywhere. We did a few of the special restaurants but we loved the buffet more sometimes. The staff were very friendly. The only drawback back was the sales sharks that waited for us daily as we went into bre [... read more]akfast. They were friendly but persistent which we didn't like. The beach was rocky in the beginning but we knew this so we brought water shoes that helped. But it was beautiful. The water slide pool area for my toddler was so convenient and fun most times he could be on his own since the water was only a foot deep. We also loved the fact that we could sign out push cars for him so that we didn't have to bring a stroller We want to go back next year. We felt 7 days wasn't enough to enjoy it all. Fontan Ixtapa: Good enough

The hotel was fine and the food was ok. Room nice enough. Ocean view a must. It took a few days to adjust to the food but overall, it was different but fine. The beach was great, waves huge and powerful so be careful. But Thursday to Sunday super busy with bus loads of people coming in making it super crazy. Pools filled with people and kids were everywhere. We changed rooms due to the noise later in evenings. The town was nice, clean and friendly. You can't beat the weather there that's [... read more] for sure, mid 30"s the whole week. Would try another hotel when we visit again only due to the wknds there. Staff overall were good. "The General" sports bar across the road was excellent food for us Canadians.

Barcelo Ixtapa: great place to recharge

Clean with lots of room to sit around the pool or beach, great weather and the best waves of anywhere. Staff where really great and very helpful. Rooms were very clean and up to date. TV had 6 channels of English movies for late night viewing.

Crown Paradise Club: Excellent resort for families!

I recommend this resort 100% everything was great! They are constantly cleaning the grounds, rooms are very clean with a big balcony. Restaurants are all very classy and the buffet had a very good variety with a children's buffet. Always food and drinks available every hour of the day. Children's pool with zip lines and waterslides and the kids club is awesome! Lots of activities for the kids all day! The shows are a must see! Grand Oasis Cancun: Grand oasis

Grounds are lovely but rooms are in need of a hughe update. We are in our 50,s but still had a good time the Italian restaurant was amazing. This resort is for a much younger crowd as we heard kids all night long. The beds were very compy. I slept good.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing family resort

I highly recommend this hotel for families, Food was great, and lots of stuff to do with the kiddies super pleased with this hotel and will absolutely go back. The service was great there was a concierge at every other building which made making dinner reservations easy easy. loved that/

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Feel like Royalty @ the Riu!

The Riu Palace was fabulous. The employees were constantly cleaning, greeting the guests, courteous and impeccably dressed. The scenery was gorgeous and the food was delicious. There were many umbrellas for shade around the pools which was wonderful. I highly recommend this facility.

Royal Solaris Cancun: Average

Time share posing as hotel staff that approach you after you check in. Unless a "gold member" food options very limited. In room water never restocked. Beds are very uncomfortable. Staff were all very pleasant. South end of strip so it's closer to tours and airport which was nice.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Family Resort

Family vacation for 9 people - 5 adults and 4 children. We stayed here during Spring Break 2017. Nice quick ride from the airport, clean rooms, nice amenities with lots to do for everyone. Good buffet for breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed the a la carte restaurants (except for the Mexican one - they claimed they didn`t have our confirmed reservations and really didn`t care). Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Excellent Resort

Rooms were big.Food was good.The best part if you like to go on trips and stay busy this is the place for you.Biking catamaran snorkelling kayaking and it's all included.Plenty of walking areas buses into town for 12 pesos.l rarely go to a resort where l would return but this place is an exception.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Fun Family-friendly Resort

Sandos Caracol Ecoresort was a really enjoyable place for my family of 5, including three children under 8. Lots of natural forests and wildlife all around and despite the large number of people there, it wasn't difficult to find a quiet place to relax. The children loved the waterslide park, especially my toddler who splashed in the 30 cm deep kiddie slide area. The other pools were nice but not exactly suitable for young children as there were typically 1.4 m deep with small shallow led [... read more]ges. The main pool, beach-side, was packed all day long, and consequently quite noisy with thumping music and waterpolo dominating the area in front of the swim-up bar; okay, if you want the party atmosphere. The ocean was spectacular - pristine turquoise blue with a view of Cozumel 18 kn across the straight. The beach sand was white and soft, perfect for sand castle building. Unfortunately, the shore is rocky all along, so the little ones weren't able to sit in the shallows with an adult - it hurt too much. Found a small sandy area on the far east of the beach where you could walk right in between the coral - too late of a find for us. Kids Club was well managed and supervised and the children (ages 5 and 7) loved it. Giant climbing structure, ping pong tables, pool, movies, and organized games were all awaiting them. The room was large and comfortable (Jr. Suite) with a terrace, overlooking the jungle, that featured a spa tub. No view of the ocean from here, but it was a perfect place for private sunbathing, and for the children to play when at the room. Room Service was thorough, if a bit late in the day. Italian restaurant was excellent, especially the lasgana and steak. Buffet had a huge range of food options that were tasty and fresh, and enough Mexican flair to last a lifetime. Definitely will go back.
