Crown Paradise Golden: Last trip to the Golden Crown never again

I've had better trips would be an understatement. The guest demographic has flipped to a locals resort. Some pool manners might be in order. Drinking like fish for 4+ hours and NEVER going to the Banos pretty much killed any chance the rest of the guests would ever get in again. I wont ever be back after many years at the resort.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great resort

Beautiful grounds, very clean eating facilities, clean throughout lobby and washrooms. Room service good. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Excellent food. Specialty restaurants excellent. Outdoor chairs somewhat limited. Too many chairs assigned to members which were mostly unused. Not happy with charges for WiFi.

Dreams Huatulco: A beautiful resort in a beautiful area

We are 60 years old who have travelled to most of the Caribbean islands and several Central American countries, usually staying in 4 / 5 star all-inclusive resorts. We prefer smaller type resorts with a chance to visit the local area. We have been to this area once before and found the local people basically, polite, friendly and comfortable to be around whether at the resort or in town which is why we went back to the Huatulco area. We found the Dreams Huatulco resort to be one of the better experiences overall we have had at an all-inclusive resort. The meals and drinks were better than we have seen with good selections and no, to little waiting for seating in the restaurant’s or buffet. The resort, grounds and beach were very clean, plenty of seating and as always no matter where we go the early bird gets the best seats but I don’t think there are any bad seats at the Dreams Huatulco. The rooms were comfortable, clean and serviced twice a day which we found a little much, once a day is sufficient for the amount of time we spent in them. If you are people who like to sit by the pool, this resort offers what looked like to us two infinity pool for adults, a family pool and I’m going to call it a shady senior pool with lots of sunny or shady seating around them. With the resort being on the Pacific we found the waves not to be that strong with an optional place for easy access into the water where there was good snorkeling. There were many more items that impressed us with the Dreams Resort but overall the above are the basics we usually look for when choosing a place and a resort to go to. Based on our stay and talking to the many other people we met who were having the same experience as us at the resort we would have no problems recommending this resort and look forward to our return or checking out the other Dreams Resort locations. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great family resort!

Azul Fives provided everything we needed for our vacation. The facility was great, the food was good with lots of variety, and the staff were very helpful. We had been on cruises before that had lots of activities especially in the evening which we missed that there was more of.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya: The beach is disappointing...

Grand Velas has an amazing staff, great service, beautiful grounds, very good restaurants but unfortunately the beach is so rocky that makes your entrance into the water impossible... Water shoes is a must if you care about swimming in the ocean. For me the beach was a big disappointment since I am not a pool person and I really care about swimming in the ocean.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Fabulous

I was impressed on how helpful the staff were. Our door man was fantastic and directed us to some fun places. The resort was clean and food awesome. I had an excellent time. I would definitely return again.

Samba Vallarta: Boutique resort family friendly

Small resort. Lots of areas to sit and relax with many alternative Options for sun and shade. Excellent for all ages, especially young families (the large but shallow kids pool and pirate ship is a huge​ hit) and it suits those who like a more quiet, friendly, easy-going vacation scene. Dedicated, super friendly staff who truly enjoy their job and are concerned with the happiness of every guest. Amenities top notch. Great access to water, Bikes, Boogie boards​ available at no extra cost [... read more]. Food not exotic but adequate with plenty of options, fresh and something for every taste. We especially loved the custom prepared Smoothie Bar and plenty of varied fruits. Not far from Bucerius by bike or on foot. Good restaurants. Or take a bus, reasonable, to downtown Puerto Vallarta. Magnificent sunsets top off your day--ever day! If you don't particularly like the big resorts where you need a ride to the restaurant, lobby and main area----well Samba Vallarta is the place for you!!!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great family resort

The resort was the best we've ever stayed at. The staff was the best I've ever encountered. Food and drinks were great. The beach was nice, the snorkelling was great, many different fish. Would definitely stay again.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Friendly Resort

The Now Jade Riviera lived up to everything I had expected. The junior suites were clean and up to date. We stayed in building 2 on the non preferred side and had a third floor room with a comfortable balcony and nice view above the trees. We did not use the pool because we spent most of the time on the beach. The beach was nice though a bit seaweedy, but it was cleaned off daily. There were a lot of rocks in the water In front of the resort so we walked a short distance to the beach in front o [... read more]f the adjoining resort when we wanted to swim in order to avoid stepping on rocks in the water. This was not as arduous as it sounds. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Do take lots of small bills to tip the staff. We planned one day trip off the resort to Mayan ruins and snorkelling. Unfortunately I was unable to go on this trip because I was suffering from a severe case of suspected food borne illness (cramping, vomiting, diarrhea and fever) on our fourth day at the resort. They would not refund my money for the day trip. The resort did take down the particulars of my illness when my husband went to tell them at the front desk, but no one made any effort to follow up with me to see how I was doing, nor did they send someone to clean up as promised (garbage cans and toilet - I mean I was truly severely ill) despite my husband requesting this and leaving a substantial tip. My husband and children were fortunately not affected and went on the day trip while I suffered in our room. This is the only negative experience I had - almost 48 hours of being severely ill. I had been drinking and eating very moderately and used only bottled water to brush my teeth - and all our food was from the resort - so at least an acknowledgement of my situation by the resort would have been nice. And the loss of the $103US for my share of the day trip which was booked at the resort was also disappointing. I am thankful that I recovered before having to fly home because flying in that condition would have been impossible. Other than my illness and the disappointing response to that, everything else at the resort was as we had hoped and a very pleasant experience and the staff in the restaurants provided very good service.

Riu Cancun: Lovely experience

I had the best experience. I really appreciate the trio centre agent Karol who recommended me this resort. It was an amazing resort, it had everything what a tourist need in order to enjoy. Beach was awesome, rooms were very clean, amenities were amazing, waiters and ground personnel were very cooperative and had smile on their faces all the time. I recommend all of my friend to must go this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

Very clean. Grounds, gardens etc were emaculately kept. Excellent variety of food. Only surprise was that Akumal was no longer part of the package. It has become premier only resort. A la carte meals were excellent.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Great place within budget

This hotel is not fancy- rooms are basic but clean. The staff is incredible... friendly, helpful and welcoming. Grounds are kept meticulously. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, plenty of shade and enough chairs for everyone. Pool is a decent size, never seemed crowded and was always well maintained. Food was ok. Lots to choose from in the buffet, but some days better than others as each day a different nationality was featured. Lots of Mexican options if that interests you. A la carte r [... read more]estaurants were very good. We aren't big drinkers but what we did try was fine, not excellent but just ok. We would definitely go back here.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Relaxation at its finest:)

Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean. Staff friendly and large enough to give us a variety for the 9 night stay. Highly recommend paying extra for the Temazcal.....sweat lodge with Mayan Shamans......an amazing healing experience. Food was great. Resort offers quiet Adult only options as well as more lively music options good for the whole family. Something for everyone here. U won't go wrong on this one.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Impeccable Service-Lovely Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Royal Suites Punta de Mita. The Customer service from the staff at this resort was Top quality. The moment we walked through the door we were greeted with friendly smiles and a quick check in. The Lobby bar was perfect to get refreshment while settling in. My husband needed distilled water for His C PAP machine and the staff was on it immediately. They couldn't find any right away so Dahlia offered to bring some on her way into work in the morning, she came  [... read more]through first thing the next morning. He also needed an extension cord which was brought right away. Our room was beautiful; it definitely felt like a royal suite. It was VERY clean and well kept. The Jacuzzi didn't work but that was not a big deal for us. After being impressed with our room we headed down to the Punta Mita Royal restaurant where we were served immediately. The food was very good; my husband (usually fussy) was content. We also ate at the Mexican Restaurant, BBQ on the Beach, Portofino and the buffet. We ate breakfast and lunch at the Royal as they served us on the beach and around the pool yummy snacks with great service, big Thank you to those Servers/Bartenders around the pool and beach. The Beach on The Royal Suites side was small a little rocky but you can walk over to the Palladium side and the beach was near perfect. Even did some snorkeling over there and saw some great sea life. I didn't mind the rockiness of the royal side either as I look to discover the sea life caught in the tide pools when the tide was low. You get the best of both worlds. The pool was clean and warm, and the grounds were well trimmed, the walk ways were covered so if you feel like you’ve had too much sun you can escape it as you walk through the resort. The Spa was world class, with hydro-massage therapy pools that we could use any time, we paid extra to get a massage .There was a Mini Zoo (literally) on the Palladium side, a fun addition, as well as lots of entertainment. My kids would have a blast!! In fact we are considering taking them on our next visit! Of course if you want to escape back to quiet, just zip back to the Royal suites side. The absolute highlight of this resort was how they helped us celebrate our 10 year anniversary. None of which we paid extra for. There was a nice anniversary sign on the door, we had the most perfect table for dinner that evening, situated to see the sunset and decorated romantically with candle light. The Sous Chef even came out to wish us a happy anniversary. Then later after dinner Victor found us and said he had a big surprise for us. He walked in to the kitchen and came out with a CAKE! We were floored by their thoughtfulness. We would absolutely visit this resort again

El Cozumeleno Beach: A wonderful stay with excellent service, beach and snorkeling!

1) lovely beach, snorkeling is fantastic 2) pretty grounds, pools are pretty but cold 3) guest rooms are sub par, noisy AC 4) lovely beach huts but must reserve one by 7am 5) order food to your beach hut, very good if ordered off menu for lunch 6) breakfast buffet is nice, lovely view of ocean 7) it is worth getting in line at 7am to get a daily reservation at La Veranda. Excellent service and the food is very nice! Dress code but it is easy, they are fine with running shoes, jeans and  [... read more]a nice top (no shorts, jumpers, flip flops etc) 8) Buy your own snorkeling gear to really enjoy all day fun. Pools are cold but Ocean is super warm 9) note that most places in Cozumel only take cash including the steak/lobster house down the road 10) ATM at hotel next door gives $USD Overall, this hotel was great. The service is fabulous and the drinks keep coming all afternoon on the beach. Food was good if you did the breakfast buffet, ordered off menu for lunch on the beach or at one of the little bistros and did the La Veranda for dinner. If you can put up with getting up early to have an incredible beach hut and dinner reservation and don't mind an old hotel room with possibly a very loud AC this is a great resort with super value for the $$$.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barcello Maya Colonial

The hotel and grounds are magnificent. One of the best resorts we've been to over the past 20 years and we've been to many. Staff is always smiling and busy ensuring guests were well taken care off. A great facility for both kids and adults. Buffet served great food and the housekeeping staff always looked after us. We were asked by a number of staff throughout the week if we had any concerns or questions and if we had any suggestions for them. That is a first for any resort we've been to [... read more]. I do have a couple of comments. We arrived at 8:00 pm, along with another bus load of guests. The front desk was obviously not prepared as it took more than an hour to check in. Staff were running around, back and forth to a back room doing something. After a long day of travel the last thing we needed was an hour +++ wait. Our group included 10 people with two smaller children. We weren't impressed with that. Also, following our Monday morning orientation we were advised to go to guest services and schedule our al' a carte dinners which we did. We were told that nothing was available before 10 pm any evening until Friday. Out of five al a carte opportunities but could only use two. That was disappointing as these restaurants looked very good. But we all agreed it was a fantastic family holiday.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Fantastic

This was our first foray into the all-inclusive vacation market. The resort was clean and the workers very friendly. The guest services staff would do anything and everything to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food was marvelous and there was a great variety with eight different restaurants on the grounds. We spent our days at the beach. Water access at the beach was made difficult with the ocean floor being covered with limestone formations. There are sand paths that y [... read more]ou can follow that will take you to a swimming depth. There are natural coral formations as well as man-made barriers that attract many different fish species so snorkeling at the resort is very easy and the water depth within the swimming area did not exceed eight feet.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Fantastic Experience

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The grounds are amazing, super clean, staff is friendly, rooms where nice, again, very clean, beds comfortable. There was a lot to do, you could just hang by one of the many pools, you can choose to enjoy the beautiful beach, lots of loungers, never a problem to get a seat and usually where you want to be. Food was good, many options for ala cart or buffets.. All around a great vacation, will definitely go back there!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great trip to the Bacelo Maya Resort in Mexico!

There is something for everyone at the resort. Lots of activities included, the beach, many pools, the Maya Mall and Plaza Mexicana were all great! The resort is very clean, and easy to get around. Walking from one end to the other was easy. The service was generally very good. In particular, we had excellent service at the Rodizio restaurant. The Guest Service rep we dealt with was very accommodating. The only negative about the trip was how the resort credit was applied. Upon check in, [... read more] we were given the impression that each room had a 250 USD resort credit to be applied to various items at the resort (bottles of wine, spa, bowling, etc.). This is not actually how the credit worked. The 250 USD was the total amount of the discounts offered on items purchased at the resort. For instance, if a bottle of wine was 800 pesos, you were charged 600 pesos, as a 25% discount was applied. We were under the impression that the 600 pesos was what would be covered by the credit. It was a little shocking upon checkout to find out that there were more charges to the room than anticipated. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip, as did my Mother and our children (14, 2 x 18, 20) - I would definitely return!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: First time in Mexico

Beautiful, clean and spacious room. Resort was well laid out and clean. All employees we super friendly and helpful. Lots of different options to do for everyone. A big variety of food to choose from. A very enjoyable experience and hope to be back soon!
