Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic getaway!

Exactly what a vacation should be. We celebrated our first Christmas vacation as empty nesters. The resort was beautiful and the staff were very polite, helpful and always happy. The nightly entertainment was fantastic. It was well worth the cost and we are thinking of returning.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Best Christmas gift I gave myself

What a fantastic resort this is. I’m not sure what it was like during COVID restrictions but there were no signs that they were in “recovery” mode. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Best part? There were no kids at this resort and no thumping bass drumming all hours. In fact by about 6pm the pool areas were closed and the resort took on a more relaxed mature feel. Worst part? No biggie to me I absorbed the cost but not everyone can be so fortunate. The food was awesome. Never any shortages. They do have “gala” nights. There’s a dress code, fellas bring long pants and a nice shirt. On these gala nights, you are expected to buy your own drinks. Keep this in mind as they sell wine by the bottle starting around $50 US.

Although my wife and I very much enjoyed our two week vacation, weather was great and the view for the room is beyond description... A few annoyances and misses that made us not love this resort. Food - Buffet was ok, but not 5 star worthy, also ventilation in the cooking area was poor and very hot and smoke filled. Although the resort itself is vey quiet, it backs onto the main road and you can hear the occasional motorcycle late at night. The Beach, quiet and private... but not as advertised in this picture. The boardwalk and ocean break wall shown in the picture are washed out. Overall... Not a 5 Star and not worth the extra money spent.

Great place with beautiful facilities and we had a ton of fun. Food was excellent with lots of great restaurants to choose from and the main buffet was very good. All the staff was so friendly and happy made you feel really welcomed. In particular the entertainment crew under the direction of Walter were really fun and put on great shows and things like AquaFit, dancing lessons and more. The Hotel was clean and grounds are very beautiful, Stuff is very friendly and accommodating , But the reservations for a La Carte Restaurants are not possible to get. It was very disappointing not to be able to get a table at Don Pablo French restaurant. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: We keep coming back!

We've been to BP Resorts about 14 times but this was our first time staying at Tulum. We noticed that the tables were cleaned off quickly and the floors were kept very clean in the Buffets. The bathrooms also were routinely cleaned as well. The grounds at this resort are so beautifully maintained. We had no problems with our room. The fridge was stocked with water, pop & beer every day. The beds were made up as well. Some things we had to request were extra bath and hand towels as well as fac [... read more]ecloths. They brought them to our room within 15 minutes. Overall, it was an awesome vacation for us & that is why we keep coming back.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Beautifully resort!

This resort is very large but with the trolley passing every five minutes it made going from one area to another much quicker. The pools are clean and there are enough chairs for everyone. Buffet has many options to choose from. Only thing I can say is the buffet close to the beach is not kept clean in the eating areas. Food left on the ground and tables not cleaned after the people's dishes are removed.

The resort was really nice .. great people friendly..staff will always greet you in a politely manner..room service was A+ had my room cleaned sometimes 2 times a day loved the resort…would go back a million times

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Coba Stay

My third time at the resort and second time via Trip Central. Enjoyed my stay and everything was as intended. The resort is clean, the transfers were on time and documents were complete. I will revisit again for sure, stress free.

Stayed here twice before 2015-2016 resort needs some upgrading . food in buffet was not as good a-la carts hard to book property very clean rooms good staff friendly and attentive as always trip from air port very long app: 2-2 1/2 hrs. good holiday.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Good Resort

Stayed for 2 weeks from Dec 4 to Dec 18 and enjoyed the resort. Access to the restaurants was probably the best since they have about 20 theme restaurants and all of them were good. The Sian Ka'an was the best option if you don't have kids since it is very quiet but you can go to other parts of the resort if you want more activity, so you get the best of both worlds. The only down side (and I hope the resort addresses this) was rampant theft from the rooms by the workers. Rooms are not actually clean, I noticed a stain on the bed sheets had my room cleaned the next day all the cleaner did was make the bed and did not change the sheets. Was given a towel with feces stain on it and shower dirty.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beach is gone!!!

Staying: Dec 2 - Dec 16, 2022, Villa 04 Hotel is dated (it was built around 2001-2004) and while everything was working in mine room it was "on borderline" - toilet flash was requiring "special" handling ,otherwise it could stuck and water will flow for ever. Shower was on the brink to be broken. Light in bathroom ( 2 of them) broken during mine stay but surprisingly they were fixed in 20 min (normal 20 min ,not "Dominican" (if you know what I'm talking about :) ) . Also air conditioner  [... read more]broke - not stopped completely but start losing/dropping water to extend that it practically flooded my room so I had to spend 20 min removing it from the floor with towels (it was 2 am so I didn't called service ). I turned it off and called service first things in the morning and when I returned from the beach around 4 pm it was back in full working mode. Minifridge "refreshing" not happening unless you completely emptied it so if you want beer or soft drink for spare remove it from fridge. Worst part was beach - not hotel problem - some natural disaster happens during first week of Dec 2022 and ocean "claimed/eat" literally half of the beach (first row of palm umbrellas were flooded and gone, volleyball playground completely gone ). It is third week of December and still there are no good beach. Remaining beach area is overcrowded /overfilled with lounges - merely not enough space to accommodate number of people staying at this hotel. I'm a beach person so for me it was disaster - pools are OK but VERY busy - TOO many people. Bars: 3 stars , while service is OK (but also not very good) - drinks are not - there are no premium drinks and even if you want cocktails based on tomato juice - at the best you can get them first hour from opening - after that - most likely tomato juice or clamato are gone. But what is worse - at all bars and even almost every restaurant /buffets - you cannot get simple club soda - most of personal doesn't speak English and doesn't know what is "club soda" is so remember Spanish term they will understand "agua con gas" (not even "agua carbonatada") - but still most places say - no - we don't have it. As well you cannot get it in minifridge Food: nothing "amazing" but you will not die from hunger for sure - and best part you can get it almost 24 hours (there are nigh snack bar at the beach - but no alcohol drinks) Good part about resort: they have pretty good night disco club but it opens at 11:30pm so you need kill some time before you can get here. Design of the disco /music and even service at the bar is amazing. While close to 2am you will start notice smell from toilets iside disco due to luck of cleaning - but you have to realize that place is packed from the moment it opens to last minute - so be prepare for some "side effects" Shows at resort looks a little bit amature (while girls' are beautiful and boys are strong) but still enjoyable. There are another "live" music show at the central plaza (common place where is disco and casino is) - and Surprisingly there are very good especially "rock band" which plays (some nights) with their interpretations/remix of latest (and not) hits - so I recommend and good part here as well - waitress service - so you don't need to get up and get drinks by yourself - keep tipping and you will have non stop coming of your favorite drinks (after second tip they were bringing me mine drink without me even asking - but still don't forget to tip) So overall - stay was good. Will I return? Most likely - no

Grand Bahia Principe Coba is the least luxurious of the the 4 Principe resorts on the same property, but it is by no means a low budget resort. The grounds are pretty well kept, the service very good (from the trams service to transport people to different areas, the bar and maid service, to the staff at the a la carte restaurants), and the food was good also. Drinks were overall good, but top shelf beverages were not readily accessible. I’m sure the other 3 resorts on Bahia Principe, being more luxurious, would have had better liquor. While I do have a bit of a taste for better liquor, I couldn’t complain about what was served to me. And the house wines were quite alright also. The room was large enough, had a coffee maker, fridge, jet tub/shower, large vanity and hair dryer. There was a small round table and 2 chairs. There was also a couch in that area. The king bed was comfy and the ac kept up all too well! The drawbacks I saw were: the pools were ok, not spectacular. The beach was a real hike to get to, so most would take the tram. There was only 1 small bar available for Coba guests at the beach, and no restrooms or snack bars for Coba guests. None of this really disappointed us, as we just planned ahead for such. The entertainment was typical for a resort, but was of better variety. The performers were very talented, and genuinely wanted to please. As far as COVID theatrics go: a few of the staff and some patrons still show their “abundant caution” and wear masks, but for the most part it felt “back to normal”. There were no undue pressures on anybody to “conform”. It was a very happy, hospitable and respectful environment. Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort. Great experience for both the budget minded and those who appreciate quality amenities and service.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: It was better before Covid

The food was of a much better quality, as well as the booze they used to serve pre covid. It was my second time at this resort and I was shocked by the difference in quality before and after the rona.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Value for money

The hotel is good value for money. The beach is non-existent (rocky, shallow, cannot really swim; must have water shoes) but there are two pools, weather is good and you can do some excursions. There are shows in the evening (inside the hotel, as well as outside; the hotel could do a better job to advertise them). Breakfast is from 7-11, omelettes are good, pastries could be improved. The Japanese restaurant is good. Skip Italian. You can use other beaches and spend time in other connected hote [... read more]ls but cannot get food and drink there. The room is clean. The safe in the room cannot be locked, bring your own lock for your suitcase. Don't forget a bottle of sunscreen. They sell it in the hotel, but the cheapest is 20 USD. AC can be a bit strong. All in all, I had a good stay.
