Ocean Riviera Paradise: very nice family resort!!!!!!!
We were in El Beso adult only. Rooms are big with bathtub and shower very comfortable. Restaurants are great food very good .No need to go to a la carte Buffet restaurant has everything you desired. Very nice service. Very excellent night intertaiment :shaws ,bands.
Only one problem water is not in you room you need to call room service to bring it to your room which takes time==you might call a few times
Generally nice resort I could recommend.

Playa Vista Azul: trip and booking
Good day this was my 1st TRIP out of the country, with that being said our booking agent Janet was a sheer pleasure to deal with she left no stone unturned which made our trip that much more enjoyable.
As far as the resort the entire staff in which i came into contact with were always smiling and eager to help me in any way.,the rooms were very well equipped and spacious.
I would not hesitate to return to the ocean villa for a return.
THANK YOU ALL FOR A WONDERFUL TRIP!

Fantastic dream holidays - we had exactly what we were looking for in a vacation package: nice clean room, comfortable bed, excellent service, very good food, perfect weather, long beach to walk and warm water in the ocean, and of course pina-colada a volonte. Fantastic week. The worst part, we came home to -16C. Rats.

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing resort!!
We had an amazing week with this resort. The friendly outgoing staff make you feel so welcome. They were super helpful and always greeted you with a smile. Some make you feel like family. There were some many forms of entertainment daily and nightly. The grounds are beautiful and the views are stunning. A wonderful buffet of so many foods. The choices were plenty. We loved our stay and plan on returning!!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Good resort, just needs an update.
The employees at this resort are amazing and speak exceptionally great English. The hotel furnishings are worn and outdated. The room we stayed in is very dated and the mattress has out done it’s service life. The maids did a great job on keeping it clean. Hotel grounds are in pristine condition, thanks to the grounds people. Beach was good besides the sea weed, which is totally uncontrollable. The fella running the tractor did remove it daily. Pools were in good condition.lounge beach chairs[... read more] were beat up and worn. Food was pretty good did not have any issues, buffets were ok.
Ala carts were very good.and did not need a reservation except for the Chinese. Nightly entrainment was kinda Blah. The location of the resort was poor if you wanted a taxi ride into town, 17 USD each way. 2 min ride. Not much there. Take the Free bicycle tour in the morning if you are interested in going to town. It is close to the airport which is nice.25 minute bus ride. Overall the resort is very easy to get around and would recommend it.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Very impressed
Since it was such a good price, I was really skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised with what we got. The beach is a little far from the rooms but it is absolutely beautiful. The food was decent and the staff was excellent. The pool areas were really nice and clean with more than enough chairs for everyone.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Spectacular Hotel!
This hotel was amazing! It’s so beautiful and so large! It’s very big yet has an intimate feel because the staff are so lovely! The staff will always greet you and make your stay even more special! There is a huge selection of food and a la carte restaurants. There’s an ice cream shop, a coffee shop and a crepe restaurant! I was in heaven! So delicious! Ocean Riviera Paradise: Lovely resort, great for family’s
Love this resort. There was so much to do, never bored. Had a club on the resort that we had no idea about as it wasn’t really advertised. They had a restaurant that was open 24/7 which was nice after the bar. Yummy food, good drinks. I would highly recommend xplor fuego excursion!! ATV, night zipline, caves exploring. Resturaunts at the resort has great food. Apppetizer, dinner and dessert. 5stars. So far the best all inclusive resort I’ve been to. Very helpful staff for the most part. Wi[... read more]fi throughout the resort. Tons of children activities. Only downfall was all the walking, they had a shuttle that would take you back and forth but there is only one running and takes forever to wait for it so we just walked. If you don’t want to do a lot of walking, I would recommend the daisy or adults only hotels as they are closer to most of the entertainment. We stayed in the eden hotel which was closer to the beach but far from everything else. Overall we had an amazing time and would strongly reccomend visiting this resort!!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Twas an ok resort
This resort was not as expected from pics on website. It was build in 2016, so I expected it to have a newer, fresher feel to it. A lot of the furniture looked very worn for a newer resort! Not the luxurios resort I was expecting to see. The rooms had a issue with musty dampness, we were given a dehumidifier which helped a lot thru the week.
Overall the food was good & tastty but another option for breakfast is needed besides the buffet each morning.
The theatre and shows were very good[... read more], a little loud thou.

Playa Vista Azul: Quaint, newer resort
This resort was fairly new so rooms were clean, fresh and well maintained.
The resort itself was compact which was a major factor in our choice since my mother has mobility issues. The buffet was very repetitive and somewhat disappointing. I have been to many resorts in Cuba and the food here was by far the worst. Their process for a la carte restaurants was first come, first served so you had to line up with no guarentee to get in. You could then reserve a later time. Did not like this pr[... read more]ocess, however, the food was much better than the buffet. ( we ate our dinners in a la carte 6 of our 7 nights)
The beach was a major disappointment!!! Had to walk to either side of resort to access two beaches. One side had the beach bar, the other had the beach snack bar....
Bank was under construction 2nd day into vacation and they didn't accommodate vacationers otherwise to access exchanging money. Unfortunately the workers are the ones that suffer. The workers were amazing. Friendly, helpful and extremely outgoing.
Their entertainment was very good. The dancers put on great shows. Loved them!
Love Veradero and will be back again. This was our first time to this particular resort and I cant see myself going back. I'd much prefer to stay a little further down the beach

Ocean Blue and Sand: Another Fun Time
We booked our trip to Ocean Blue and Sand thru Tracy at Trip Central, Dundas and everything went like clockwork as usual. This was our 18th visit to this hotel in the last 11 years and we will continue to go there as well as other places. The people who work at this hotel are so friendly and welcoming that we cannot stay away.
The grounds of this hotel are immaculate and the two huge pools in the centre of the complex are maintained by several workers using snorkelling equipment who start at [... read more]dawn every morning. The al a carte restaurants are great and it is so nice to have white tablecloths and napkins and be served by efficient and experienced wait staff.
The entertainment staff is like no other. They will entertain you and keep you laughing from 10:00 a.m. until the night club closes at around 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. Their goal is to make sure you have the time of your life and they succeed every time.
The beach has seen better days, but because of the eco tubes they have installed to prevent any more erosion caused by global warming, it is improving considerably. Any seaweed is removed with machinery every morning.
We are looking forward already to visit #19.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort but avoid the time share concierge team!!!
This resort was very nice and the staff were wonderful. Friendly and very accommodating. We had booked into a Daisy suite but were fortunate to be moved to the El Beso section with a swim out suite as requested as we were there without children and had asked for a quiet area. The low numbers in the 1100 block are perfect for this and are very convenient for the main buffet and most of the restaurants and shops. Things we enjoyed were the foam parties (Currently its Tuesdays in the El Beso pool f[... read more]or adults only and Saturdays in the family Eden pool for everyone) and the Lion King show which was very spectacular and not to be missed. The Teppenyaki restaurant is worth a visit too as the show is very entertaining as your meal is prepared. This was the only restaurant that we had to book ahead of time as space is limited. You only book that on the day of attending unless you are part of their Privilege Club and they have a different process. The seaweed on the beach wasn’t bad this week and they do have a nice section of beach. If you wish to do a little snorkeling from the beach, I would recommend walking a few minutes south to the wooden pier by the Azul property nearby.
My only complaint was the constant harassment from the time share concierge team which caused us to avoid the front lobby area as they hounded you there every time you came through. Trust me, there is a reason why they are being friendly and it’s not to be your friend lol!!!! The other annoying thing was the Spa guys who wait right outside the main buffet and push massages in your face both going in and out every time you go to eat.... I wouldn’t mind once a day but two to three times a day over a week gets tiresome after a while.... We usually visit Riu properties and this is the reason I prefer them. No harassment or pushy sellers in your face when you are there to relax.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nothing Compares to Cuban Hospitality
We had a fantastic time at Ocean. I was concerned about some past reviews but honestly have to say I did not see issues to validate them. We traveled with family and friends, all adults and have traveled to Cayo Santa Maria 5 other times.
Accommodations - we stayed in block 14 on the east side of the resort on a higher floor, as requested. The room was large, clean, and in good repair. The room has a shower with good pressure and hot water. The shower was slow to drain so you had to watch you[... read more] didn't overflow it but once you were aware it was easy to work around- but really I didn't come here for the shower. Block 14 was easy access to the pool, snack bar, beach, and shopping area. Power in your room is 220 but will accept North American standard plugs, just ensure your adapter is capable of 110 - 230 input and you'll be fine.
Food - it was not a culinary experience, but I never left hungry. Breakfast always had all egg combinations, pancakes and fresh fruit. Lunch had light options, as well as a stir fry, pasta station, and rice combos. Supper was a la carte most nights and we enjoyed the fair offered. French fries and pizzas were available at the snack bar. Beach bbq usually had payaya (sp) and chicken which were both good. I certainly didn't go hungry nor did I feel I was eating the same thing for a week (however, I am not a foody so take my opinion for what its worth).
Staff - the sole reason we always return to Cuba is the staff. The animation staff led by Leo were top notch and sincere. Magdiel at the buffet went out of his way to accomodate. I found all of the server staff to be fantastic. The reception staff were always pleasant to deal with.
Entertainment - I did not partake of any of the theater shows, just not my thing. But I did enjoy the live music every night at the main bar. We went bowling one night at the shopping plaza which was fun. Normally we take in a "fiesta" night at the plaza but this time the entertainment at the resort was enough to keep us on site.
Resort - is a bit of a drive, 1:45 from the airport, but if you can manage a daylight trip it is worth the scenery. We stayed mid-November and the resort was only half full, the weather was great, and bugs very minimal. This resort is spread out and did entail a fair bit of walking but I personally enjoy this. I found the path lighting to be adequate and the cart traffic to be minimal, however some paths were in need of repair making wheelchair access difficult for some. It's location next to the shopping plaza makes it desirable in providing enhanced options for activities. The beach is nice and large. Two beautiful and huge pools segmented into multiple parts making it easy to claim a piece.
As others have mentioned - try to pull what information will help you from these reviews. Some people aren't going to be happy any where they go. If the little things tend to get you upset quickly and ruin the rest of your day - Cuba is not for you; however, if you go on vacation looking to enjoy and relax and roll with the flow with minimal expense - this is the place for you. What Cuba may lack in amenities they more than make up for in hospitality. I fully recommend booking with Trip Central as I have found the process simple, efficient and thorough.

Playa Vista Azul: Cubans are looking ONLY after tips
I asked a room in a quite area and not at first level. I received a room at the first level and facing swimming pool. Second day I tipped the person and I've got a good room.

Playa Vista Azul: I would not return
Here is what I wrote on Tripadvisor:
Stayed November 19-22, 2018
I have been to Cuba over 10 times before and have always had an excellent time. I have never felt compelled to write a review about a resort until now.
This resort is described as the 2nd newest resort in Varadero, at a 4+ rating. The decor is nice and most of the resort does appear to be new and clean.
Upon check-in, we were told that we were being placed in a Privilege room but without any of the privileges (that wa[... read more]s fine since we did not pay for that upgrade… yet). We did not receive any additional information about the resort, Varadero or other. The only map of the resort was a tiny credit-card sized paper. The room itself did not provide any additional information either. Nothing on any services offered at the hotel, entertainment schedules, things to do at the beach/pool - nothing! Our room was within the main lobby and had a beautiful ocean view, directly above the infinity pool. As I mentioned before, the room was clean and modern looking. Within the mini bar fridge, only a cola and a sprite was included. When asked to have a couple beers added to the fridge, we were told this was not possible.
We went to the buffet on our first morning to have breakfast. We were so disappointed with the lack of selection in food that we went straight to the lobby to upgrade to the Privilege package (which included access to better restaurants). A few examples of our disappointment of the buffet included the omelettes - the only ingredients available were ham, cheese and corn. The fresh fruit was not good. There also weren’t any condiments available for the toast. No croissants or other options for bread. The size of the lobby is quite small considering the size of the resort and was very crowded.
At this point of the vacation, we decided to upgrade to the Privilege section. This upgrade included ‘perks’ like top-brand drinks in a Privilege bar, late checkout, priority to book a la carte restaurants among a few other things. Privilege service does not yet grant you any perks on the beach. Having upgraded to the Privilege section, we were expecting a slightly better level of service. That did not happen. We left the Privilege restaurant without food one day because our food took so long to get there (25+ mins). Apart from one server in the Privilege lounge (Dannys), the service was not great. We did not get served while sitting outside of the lounge, we had to go inside to find a server. It felt as though the Privilege program was so new that it wasn’t fully set up yet. There is no distinct ‘privileges’ when upgrading to this service yet.
Having done some research about this resort, we knew that the beach was not going to be spectacular, however we were still disappointed. The layout of the resort is long and set upon a cliff. On either side of the cliffs, are the two beaches available at Vista Azul. We did not spend any time at the smaller beach since it was packed and had no room left any time we wanted to go. We spent a couple of days at the ‘large’ beach. The beach may appear ‘large’ in photos but the Vista Azul resort is only entitled to approximately ⅓ of the beach. The remainder of the beach is empty but Azul occupants are crammed into their tiny section. The resort did include water sports which was nice. Activities included kayaks, hobie cats and a paddle boat. Although the resort is new, the beach chairs are not. The material sagged and most of them were covered in mould stains. It was difficult to find help in the morning to get the chairs set up. Another important thing to note was that there is no towel exchange service. We had to keep the same wet towels our entire stay there.
The infinity pool is definitely one of the pros of this resort. It is stunning and provides a beautiful backdrop of the ocean. The only negative is that this pool is supposed to be ‘adults only’ however children were constantly swimming in this pool. That rule is definitely not enforced.
The main lobby is aesthetically pleasing but there are bright lights well into the late evening. I would suggest getting a few dimmers to set a better mood. Also, the chairs on the outdoor balcony of the lobby look very cool and modern but are extremely uncomfortable. They are only about 6 inches off the floor so it is very difficult to get in and out of them.
We went to one of the entertainment shows - Michael Jackson night. The show began 15 minutes late and was not very good. We did not return any other night. Fair warning to anyone staying above the theatre (building 8), the music is extremely loud and can be heard until late in the evening. No peace and quiet in those rooms.
One last thing to note, when exchanging money, the resort did not have any $1 coins/bills for 3 days while we were there. This made tipping very difficult. Even paying for something like a wifi card, the staff could not provide you with any change.
I know this review comes across as negative. I am only trying to paint an honest picture of my stay there. I love Cuba and will continue to go back every year. I will not return to this resort.
