Melia Las Dunas: Still an amazing resort
Stayed Mar 29th to Apr 8th.This was our 5th time visiting this hotel. 1st time since 2019 due to Covid. Only one half of the resort was open. Adult side is closed until they can bring it up to par. That would have been nice to know prior. As long as you are not expecting an expensive Canadian 5 star meal, the food was good. Staff at this hotel go up and beyond to make you feel comfortable. As far as tipping goes you can still give them peso's but it makes them happier to have loonies, toonies or [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Awesome Vacation! Will definitely return!
This resort is very well maintained. Very clean with easy access to everything. Anywhere you want to go is within 2-3 min walk. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The entertainment staff was always cheerful and involved everyone in their activities. Chino/Pedro is funny and makes everyone feel welcome and his enthusiasm is contagious. Lea makes you feel great about winning the lazy game....lol or laugh when you're not so coordinated while taking the dance lessons. She also loves to help [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Paradisus Rio de Oro April 6th to April 13th 2022.
This is a beautiful clean resort. The layout and size is what we really liked. Vegetation is plentiful and beautiful. Like always, the Cuban people are so warm hearted & friendly people. They follow Covid-19 protocol to the T. (Staff always wear their masks etc..) This resort deserves the rating of a 5 star............. Diane & Paul Montpellier
Tryp Cayo Coco: Awesome time was had.
First of all O'Neill Graham from Trip Central was a great rep.to deal with. He answered all my question I had. We have been to Tryp Cayo Coco before and things have changed, but not by much. Staff was awesome to deal with from checking in, to bar staff, room services, waiters and waitress. The food was good and could easily could make a meal. The beach was amazing and the pool was very enjoyable. As for Covid we felt very safe and protected by the staff they had all protocols put in place. It [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: Amazing experience, the people at the Hotel made our stay memorable
The Hotel was wonderful, the room very clean, special thanks to Yeri, Levin, Lester, Yenima, Joel, Leydi and Alien for they kindness and making our trip incredible, we plan on coming back for sure, one of our best vacation
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Mediocre Resort
Unfortunately, this hotel didn't impress me much. I'm not a complainer but I'll tell you my opinion and let you judge. The first issue was no coffee maker in the room, which I mentioned to the front desk and they said they would check into. There were 2 coffee cups sitting there and a little dish with 2 spoons but no coffee maker. I need my morning coffee. The only place to get coffee was in the lobby, which was good but it's nice to have a cup without leaving the suite. The second issue was t [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: Beautiful resort with the best staff!
This was my favourite stay in Cuba. There are three gorgeous beaches and two pool areas. It’s a great place for snorkelling. It’s a smaller resort, which is perfect if you’re looking for a more peaceful vacation. The rooms are beautiful and have everything you need. There are three restaurants and a snack bar, as well as a shuttle service to dine at the neighbouring resort. They offer daily activities like dance lessons and aqua fit as well as varying nightly entertainment. I can’t say e [... read more]
Melia Internacional: An amazing well run holiday resort.
I chose this Melia because my main concern was COVID safety procedures as well as I wanted a wonderful holiday. Employees wore masks at all times. I was not disappointed. I would congratulate them on the cleanliness of the resort, the well trained friendly staff, the beach and great service they provide to guests. The restaurants were all very good. Always a good variety of choices. The Buffet Restaurant was excellent and safe. Safety rules were strictly enforced. Masks were required to [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: 20 times later…
It must be more or less 20 times that I go to this resort over the course of the last 15 years. Needless to say that I enjoy it! I go for a couple of reasons: the warmth of the Cuban people, the incomparable beaches (no sargassum, crystal clear waters) the Rhum, the cigars for hubby and the unbeatable prices! Food: as we always say, Cuba is Cuba. The embargo always strikes hard and now add the pandemic to top it. But you will never go hungry. Always remember that what ever you have on your p [... read more]
Paradisus Los Cayos: Clean and new
Very clean and nice resort. Beach is fantastic. As expected in Cuba, there is much to be desired for better food. Although there was always something to eat, the food was very repetitive…and no cream or milk one morning. For a 4.5 star hotel, that is almost unheard of. Staff were great…always smiling and gracious but communication can be a challenge. I would return there again but not for the price we paid.
Melia Buenavista: My favour place
2nd time in this resort and it is definitely my favour place. Small nice resort, beautiful beach all 3 of them. Nice rooms. Amazing stuff. Everyone from reception , Buttler, maid, to all bar and restaurants stuff. Looks like everyone there just want to make your stay the most wonderful experience.
Melia Las Antillas: Amazing People + Beautiful Beach!!
My first time visiting Cuba and absolutely loved it!! The people are friendly and the beach is BEAUTIFUL. We decided to upgrade to the Junior Suite and were very happy we did!! It allowed us the privilege to meet and be greeted by Elizabeth (Concierge) who was absolutely amazing! We also had the opportunity to meet Naedelys (sp?) who was equally amazing! They take a lot of pride in their hotel :). They are always making sure your needs are being met, and that you are enjoying your vacation. [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Ok resort
Melia Peninsula had a nice enough beachfront with lots to do in the water. A little deceiving though because you would think that all the water stuff would be free but it isn’t. The pools were really nice and big and the waterslide was a hit with the kids, but they were not clean they were very dirty especially the adult pool. There was a lot of algae all over the walls, you know exactly why and it’s disgusting. The rooms were nice, the cleaners did a good job, lovely view from every ba [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo coco
Stunning resort, landscaping, beach. Food was delicious. Fifteen minutes from the airport. Staff were awesome. And really good Covid protocols. Was really sunny, hot, hot. Rooms are very well done, modern. Maid service is so good. A dream vacation was the best. Can’t wait to go back. It’s so awesome.
Melia Las Americas: Great Place to Golf
This was my 6th time to the resort. Come for one specific reason, to golf. Golf facilities and staff are great, usually play up to 2 rounds per day. Food services are very good, given the circumstances. Hotel has great processes in place to ensure that guest are protected as they can be against COVID-19. Never felt at risk at any point in time while at the facilities. Hotel rooms a little bit dated but always clean, staff keeps them in immaculate condition. Beach is very nice, always ha [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: Wonderful week away!
We were very impressed as to how the hotel handled covid. Masks were mandatory when being served at the buffet. They have added extra staff to accommodate this new process. Everything ran smoothly and wait time was minimal. We did not experience any shortages as we had heard about at other resorts. The hotel management has done an excellent job to keep things running smoothly. The evening entertainment of various different musicians was a nice break from the regular entertainment that you find [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: Best We've Been At!
This was our 22nd trip to Cuba since 2006. Everything here was superior to any resort we had previously stayed at, except for the beach, which doesn't quite measure up to Cayo Largo imho. But hey, that's Mother Nature's doing!
Tryp Cayo Coco: Big Changes
Big Changes....are NEEDED! This resort stinks lkke a sewer because of the fetid ditch running under its lobby. This needs to addressed even the buffet reaks like a sewer. The 1st day was not bad but theb the locals moved in.....the real guests(Canadians) got garbage for food and any real liquor came off the shelves. Beer shortages everyday the locals were there. Lots of " we're sorry senor " but nothing to address the issues. Not ever returning to this resort. I am sure the Sunwing reps h [... read more]
Paradisus Los Cayos: It is a Paradise
Hotel infrastructure is good and nice; it covers all the needs for a pleasant stay. The beaches are the best we saw through our extensive travel experience in the Caribbean area. People are nice with a good service oriented training. There is field to improve the food area, for example: for 2 days we could not have our usual capuccinos due to milk run out.
Melia Cayo Coco: Nice small resort - April 2022
The resort is small, older and has nice foliage, and is well maintained. The staff is friendly, polite, and provided good service. Food was OK for Cuba. Rooms are kept clean, and the air conditioner worked well, but the room decor is a bit dated. Beach is beautiful and kept clean with a sufficient # of loungers available. Some nice touches, being greeted by the resort manager upon arrival, entertainment with a sax player playing around the pool area one day. Usual evening entertainme [... read more]
