Playa Cayo Santa Maria: REALLY NICE RESORT

Really good service, the hotel was clean, the food good (some food back order but not a big deal its cuba). The wine and the restaurant a la carte was really excelent. The beach is one of the best of cuba with crystal clear water.

Valentin Perla Blanca: NICE RESOTR

This hotel is nice modearn one ,the garden is awesome . GROUNDS and public is very take care .Rooms was cleane every day. Service withe dining was good ,food need more variety some area .People working are great...very helpfull...thanks them for that .WE thinking back at the features.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Worth the price!

A great resort with lots of dining and snack options over all 3 resorts. Italian restaurant was fabulous! Private beach was easy to get to and very beautiful. Our butler took good care of us to make sure we were having the best stay possible. For under $800 it was a deal! The bus ride was a bit long but we got to see lots of countryside. Only downfall, the bug bites I kept getting-take lots of repellent.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Pretty good

We were a group of 6 friends and I would say we all had a pretty good experience. Myself and my partner were satisfied with the service, however, one of our friends didn't get as lucky. They did not get water bottles every day and did not have hot water in the shower. Water is very valuable at the resort... If you ask for another water bottle, 90% of the time they would say no... Which was a problem for another friend because they drink a lot of water normally. Everything was either hit or miss. [... read more] The restaurants were ok, the best was the Italian one, the others had similar dishes to what they served at the buffet. The best part was the beach, however we only had two hot days out of four, and the pool water was freezing cold so we got a bit bored when it was too cold and rainy for the beach, we brought some games though which kept us occupied. Even though there was no disco there was still night life which was a pleasant surprise. Although we figured out that the night life was actually an advertisement with promoters trying to get you to go to some unknown club off of the resort which was sort of ghetto. Tipping was not expected but we had fun doing so because the workers were truly grateful and gave excellent service if you gave them anything. Another great thing was the coffee bar, they had a huge menu of delicious coffee drinks with and without alcohol. Going with Air Transat was great too, they gave really good recommendations of other things to do and answered all of our questions easily. We all did not expect much, because that's just Cuba. If you want a five star experience don't go to Cuba lol. But compared to another resort we have been to in the past, I would say the food wasn't as good but the beach was very nice.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Terrible restaurant, even for Cuba

We have stayed here SIX times. The food was one reason we returned. Many things were missing on their menu. Salmon, shrimp, lobster, lamb, one other fish and a desert item, no longer serving Canadian beef but something that resembles a chew toy. This is their show case restaurant at the resort. They charge other people at the resort 50 extra pesos to eat there. The sea food specialty restaurant was also closed part way through the week. This is their third manager in three years and in my opinion, the worst. We will not return.!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Absolutely Relaxing

Spent a week here with my cousin and my biggest critique was that the place is slightly outdated and could use just a bit of renovating. They also need to keep their alcohol fully stocked. That's the worst I can say about this place. Other than that, we had a very relaxing week, that staff are phenomenal, some of the best food I've had in Cuba (In the past I've found the food to be flavourless and bland). Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful, wonderful resort!

this small resort is just perfect. Rooms are large, grounds are beautifully landscaped, lots of helpful and friendly staff always available. Quiet and relaxing yet still entertaining. Beach is fantastic

Memories Paraiso: Memories Paraiso

We had a good time at the Memories Paraiso hotel. The beach was the nicestI have seen in Cuba. The color of the water just unbelievable. Beautiful, have to watch out for the sandflies. I had the sandflies worst in other places. The hotel room was good, large rooms and bathrooms. It was cleaned everyday. The food was ok. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Relaxing!

The hotel was a bit dated, could use some updating & freshening up. However the bed was very comfortable & housekeeping was very good. The grounds were kept clean & the pool (2 levels) was also very clean. Staff always pleasant & helpful. Beautiful beach! The food was as expected for Cuba but you never went hungry. We got what we paid for & had a relaxing time. Quiet environment. Only complaint is sand fleas - bring bug spray!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful people and resort

I would highly recommend this resort 😊 the beach was to die for. The bartender at the beach was spectacular! Food was so so . But that’s expected in Cuba . We had an ocean view room and it was nice just sitting out on the balcony listening to waves. Give this resort a chance you won’t be disappointed!

Memories Paraiso: Memories Paradiso

The grounds, entertainment, pool and beach all amazing. Rooms were always clean and serviced. Cuban La carte restaurant was very good. Buffet was simple but lots of food and always found something we liked.

Melia Las Dunas: Great beaches and staff!

We were there Dec 24-31 a family of 4. The best parts were the beaches, beautiful white sand, ocean warm and turquiose i miss it already, the staff were super and always smiling and provided great service. Our room maid in block 16 was great and very sweet. The rooms are a little worn down but were clean. The alacart restaurants were great and food was delicious, but buffet was ok, mornings we sometimes had issues with selection but dinner we always found something good. Too much pork in almost  [... read more]everything. The hotel in general was little worn down but ok for Cuba standard, other hotels we stayed at were cleaner and better buffet selection in general. It was crowded and toward end of our vacation it got really crowded. The evening shows were good just dancing i would recommend adding a little variety to them. We never got sick or stomach issues but we were careful. The cappuccinos were delicious. The weather was good we had 2 out 7 days with a little rain that passed in an hour or so. The weather was warm ~25c not too hot. Overall it was very nice and relaxing and we enjoyed ourselves. This was our 5th time to Cuba, ww found the excursions were overpriced but now wish we had gone on at least one, we stayed on the resorr the whole week.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not what it looks like in pictures!!!

We went as a group of 16. 6 families with a bunch of kids. When we got there it all looked fine until we got to the room. The back sliding doors look like they were all broken into and they would not lock. not just for us but every single room was like that. And we were facing the ocean and there was all jungle behind us so anyone could of came in at night or anytime. 5 out of 6 rooms the showers wer flooding the whole bathroom 2 rooms ac not working. So we went to complain and they put us in a  [... read more]small room with a guy 2 min later we were surrounded by 4 security guards and they said if we dont stop complaining we would have to pack and leave. Anyways we calmed down a bit and we asked the manager if he would feel safe leaving his kids in these rooms and he said absolutely not while smiling at us like we were idiots. So we apologized and said we we will wait for sunwing representative in the morning and speak with her. So next day we found her and told her everything and she said she will fix it all and upgrade us to privileged rooms and set us up with a private dinner to kinda apologize for the manager attitude which his name is Felix Mercedes i belive. So we moved to privileged rooms wich was even worse once again the back doors facing the bushes would not locked and look like they we all prayed open. Bathtubs insted of showers wich was a nightmare to bathe in no handle for shower head and tubs leaked.one of the safes didn't have a door at all. Door cards don't even bother runing up and reprogramming which we did over 17 times i had to clime trough the bush and on the balcony wich was only 5 or 6 ft up and go trough the sliding door wich didn't lock did that about 10 times and after that i just had to steal batteries from someone elses door because thye refused to change them so bring batteries. There is so much stuff wrong with this place the worst is that staff just don't care the resort is 4 years old anything u touch is falling apart. One day we got half a rool of toilet paper for a family of 4 and no water. Seen the maid in hallway asked for water shes says 2 dollars so bring water too and keep your kids safe every corner of the pool is missing plastic safety cover. Little girl feel in scrathed her foot pretty bad. Absolutely no care for basic human necessity. Bathrooms have no toilet paper the hand drying fan was ripped out dangling with wires exposed from day one and was same when we left. So if you care for your family's safety i would definitely not go to this place it sucks i can't post photos here but will definitely post on google.

Melia Buenavista: quiet paradise

THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL WITH 2 VERY CLEAN POOLS AND 3 SCENIC BEACHES. STAFF ARE FANTASTIC AND VERY FRIENDLY. THE ROOMS ARE HUGE AND HAVE A WALK IN CLOSET AND OUTDOOR SHOWER, AND JACUZZI TUB. FOOD WAS OK. OUTDOOR PIZZA OVEN WAS GREAT. LIKED THE WAY SUPPER IS ONLY A LA CARTE. NOT A LOT TO DO EXCEPT RELAX AND ENJOY. WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK!

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Amazing time!

This hotel was everything we needed it to be! our room was very updated and modern. The staff kept it clean and beautiful every day. The showers were amazing. The perfect rainfall shower head and always had hot water. The beach was beautiful. The water warm and calm (it is in more of a bay). The beach is about a 5 minute walk from the main hotel area, it is closer to the adults only section. There is never a fight for chairs - lots to go around. There was many pools. They all were clean and well [... read more] maintained. Lots of chairs around there as well. The buffets were typical Cuban buffet food - nothing special, but we ate well all week. The 24 hour snack bar had great food (we loved the pizza!) and the servers were great. The main lobby area is beautiful. Each night there’s different entertainment - local house band, saxophone etc. The nightly shows are typical, but fun and entertaining. Because the resort is so big - it never felt over crowded or too full. The staff was top notch. They went above and beyond all day to ensure that everyone was having the best time. I’ve never wanted to return to a resort - there’s so many places to go - but this is a place I would consider going again.

Melia Las Dunas: Nice resort

We had an amazing time. The beach here is fantastic! Clear blue water and white sand. The staff were also amazing for the most part. The only downfalls would be the food and the rooms which are in need of updating. Rooms were very clean though.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort

My first trip to Cuba. The resort was very beautiful and lush with flowers, palms & tropical plants everywhere. You definitely don't tire of the view. The rooms very clean. Had problems with my toilet and shower but they fixed it right away. The food & drinks were great in my opinion. If you are a picky eater then it is probably not for you! Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Not 5 star hotel

This was my third time to the royalton and it will be my last This resort has gone so far downhill Most of the staff were not friendly or courteous at all The food what little supplies they had was not good they were out of almost everything the entertainment was pathetic basically a couple of Cuban guys round the pool at 4pm for an hour and they spoke mainly Spanish I wouldn't spend the money on this so called 5 star resort definately not 5 stars anymore !!

Melia Las Dunas: Awesome resort

Had the best week at this resort! Food was good. Always something to eat in the buffet selections. Pasta bar, stir fry bar, grill station. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies. pool was refreshing, beautiful beach! Well kept rooms, awesome entertainment!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Needs Some Work on Ameneties

I want to start by saying that the resort staff are a 10 out of 10, they were fantastic to speak to and get service. This said, I do have some negative things that occurred during our stay Jan 10-17; we had our water turned off nightly in our room and the last 2 nights had our toilet water turned off. There was no soap in the public toilets and the hand dryer was only working in the main lobby ladies washroom. We encountered no toilet paper in the public toilets, but twice had it in the main l [... read more]obby washroom. We came prepared and brought our own, but what about those that are not aware of this inconvenience? The beach was beautiful and there was someone there helping to place our loungers for us, which was very much appreciated. The pool and main lobby area was two of the best places I've seen in hotels anywhere. The multi-level pools were awesome, something for everyone which included shade areas with trees and wooden shade structures. We only saw the towel guy one day and he was opened for about 2 hours. The bartenders were knowledgeable and made the drinks as you wanted them i.e. more or less rum. There was a problem with ripped balcony screens in the room which caused a frog and gecko to be in our room at night...caught and released outside by us...ugh. There were black spots on our décor cushions and the bed pillows smelled terrible (mildew). The bus ride to the hotel and back to the airport were good, water and beer could be purchased but be prepared as there are no washrooms on the bus, but he will stop to allow passengers to go into the bush as needed. The food was edible, the last few days was terrible with limited choices and very long lineups for food. We attended the specialty restaurants 4 times and was very disappointed every time i.e. food overcooked and salty, charred hot dog buns for bread in the French Restaurant, no white wine at all in the resort (unless you want to pay $$ for it). We did hear on the last day that there was a fuel shortage in Cuba and that there were limited transportation trucks delivering food. The outdoor lighting at night was hard to see, I would suggest bringing a flashlight as some lightbulbs are out. Some of the lights in the room are also needing replaced. One of the disability bathrooms were screwed shut and the other one had a floor to ceiling window beside the toilet...no privacy in that one. There are long lineups for exchanging money and each transaction took quite a long time. The main lobby entertainment was very very good and could be loud at times but worth it. Overall.... I would not stay in this resort unless they have the food/fuel situation rectified. It appears that other hotels had great food i.e. hamburgers, pizza...we had it on the menu but not available to order. As I said in the beginning....great service staff.....
