Playa Vista Azul: Playa Vista Azul

The room was lovely, clean, spacious, well maintained. Golf carts for transportation were efficient and timely. Severe lack of umbrellas at pool. Only 2 days of our 7 day stay were there fresh eggs available at breakfast. Instead, powdered eggs were offered. Very disappointing. Staff accommodating and helpful.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Poor

No good service, they never have towels , in the bathroom the door could not be closed , …… the food very poor . This hotel is not recommender , .. the person who puts the chairs on the beach is very rude and has bad manners

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

Been going there for years, there’s been some great improvements since Covid. Staff is friendly as usual.accommodations very good , only thing is the entertainment is a bit lacking since they close the theater.

Memories Jibacoa: Great resort for snorkling

The grounds of the hotel are well kept, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the air conditioning system could use an update. The personnel is courteous and friendly and the food is diversified and tasty. The beach bar is charming and great to grab a bite at any time of the day. At night it transforms into an ¨A la carte¨ restaurant where you can dine while looking at an amazing sunset. Now for the activities. If you like to look at fishes, you should bring a mask and a tuba because the choral reefs are 15 feet (3 meters) from the shore. You don't need to pay anyone or reserve a catamaran; you just go in the water and watch your personal Jacques Cousteau documentary! You can also borrow a peddle boat, a kayak or a catamaran. There are activities in different area of the resort. They are inscribed on a big panel in the lobby where you can get a great expresso, cappuccino or a drink. I loved my experience and I'm sure you will love it also.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A good resort.

I was not happy with the room we were assigned to. The lower part of the wooden entrance door was decaying (probably water damaged) and the entire door was in dire need of painting. I wanted to ask for a change in room. My husband encouraged me to not so we try to look beyond that and focus on other things. Needless to say every time I had to enter the room seeing that door left me with an unpleasant feeling. The room itself and bathroom needed so updating also but was not a big issue. Warm wa [... read more]ter was available in the bathroom which was great The food was ok (six out of 10). Entertainment was great, the staff were professional and friendly. They made one feel welcome which made up for the negative issues.

Playa Vista Azul: Cuba 2023

The resort is beautiful. The staff are amazing. Shout out to Arasay, Diana, Jose, Yuri and Carlos. Thank you for taking care of us. Food is rationed, but still an amazing trip! Jim O'Neill thank you for all your help for getting us down there! You are an angel and a godsend.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not worth the money

Visited in august. Rooms very dirty. The house keeper was not listening to my request to simply sweep the floors. Absolutely disgusting finding dirty qutips in my bathroom on the day of arrival. Door frame was broken to the point that my doors wouldn’t lock, and if they did close i was not able to open it and most of the time had to use my patio doors to get back inside. Servers would pass by me and not offer any drinks or coffee at the breakfast. Just overall its not worth the money they are charging.

Melia Marina Varadero: good

Except food all are good. People of Cuba are so nice and friendly behavior. Nice transportation. Beach are so good. Delphine right are excellent Entertainment are so nice. Location of the Hotel very good for communication. Travel to other city very nice with in two hour which is cooperating by the management staff to enjoy other destination.

Selectum Family Resort Varadero: Beautiful New Resort

After searching the web for weeks, we landed on Selectum Varadero. Modern, clean, friendly resort close to the airport. The only downfall was that they have not yet fully prepared their beach so it was a little rocky, nothing a pair of crocs/water shoes couldn’t fix. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a week away in the sun!

Melia Las Antillas: Would not return :(

The hotel itself is beautiful - the atmosphere, the beach, the pool. One issue was with the food - no condiments of any kind (salt, sugar, salad dressing, ketchup)...long line ups at the buffet on the days when eggs were available. The food selection was extremely poor and unrecognizable. The a la carte restaurants were much better. The bars often ran out of main ingredients. Sunwing's orange bracelet made me feel like I was in steerage - blue bracelet people were given much more attention and service (they had paid for the bigger rooms). My first room smelled - it was dark (many broken lights, dirty)...took 3 days before they found me another room! The entertainment team was terrible - I didn't really see anyone throughout the week. The nightly shows were blah. Very few people were at the hotel and I know why. I've been to Cuba many times and never had an experience like this - definitely would not go back to this hotel ever!!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Very nice just a few things that needed changing

We arrived at 5 o’clock first couple got a room by 7 all luggage was put in that room ( there was 8 in our group) then my daughter and I got a room at approximately 8 ish and the last 4 didn’t get there room until 12 o’clock had to move everything at that time because no one working to help the rooms were very big and clean the pool area was always clean having a lunch hut at the pool was very nice nice short walk to the ocean

Grand Memories Varadero: Great beach and amazing entertainment crew!

Our family vacation at Grand Memories Varadero was truly amazingly! The entertainment crew specially Liliana and Eliecer were such great hosts. Very friendly and helpful. The beach was gorgeous. Couldn't have asked for anything more. We had great memories to bring back to Canada!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Fine resort

Food quality could have been better The beach was overall good but the side of this resort were stones and sea weed underneath so we had to go the other side of the beach nearby resort to swim in peace..Overall it was great and staff was helpful and polite.. Boring night parties though

Grand Memories Varadero: Great staff and amazing beach!

The buffet staff Arelys and Rigoberto provided great service throughout our stay. Liliana the guest hostess at the front is excellent. Friendly and helpful. The beach is amazing. This is the place to stay with your family!!!

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Nice vacation

I liked the hotel. Overall well maintained and very clean. The gardens well manicured. No litter. Beaches clean, no algae, tractor with disc harrow cleaning the sand every morning to refresh it. The food was just OK and kinda repetitive. I didn't like any of the sweets, they were too dry. The service was very good. Entertainment was also good.

Paradisus Varadero: It is truly paradise

I was at Paradisus hotel the first week of August with my teenage daughters in Varadero beach, Cuba. It is truly paradise, the sand was white, and the sea was crystal clear. The workers were very sweet at the restaurants, the buffets and at all the bars in the hotel. The rooms were very good and the restaurants served many foods like traditional Cuban food. The bars had many cocktails with and without alcohol. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The best things about this trip were the beach  [... read more]and the people I met. Thank you Paradisus, Varadero. This vacation was truly unforgettable.

Melia Marina Varadero: Terrible resort

The resort was dirty and service non existent. Went to same resort in 2019 but this time it was awful. Pool was hot and dirty and had nothing at the bar but rum. Beer was always running out and pool bars had barely enough food and beer. Will not book Veradaro again.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing resort in Varadero

Very nice and well maintained grounds Staff was extremely friendly. I will mention here just a few:Laurita, Barbara, Maria and Ana. Food was normal for Cuba, but the lack of AC in the buffet made eating unpleasant. AC in the room was all the time above 25 Celsius, which was at the limit for being comfortable.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Cheap and beautiful

The grounds are pretty well maintained, the hotel it self is dated and the rooms could use a little perk ups, but everything was perfect. For the price your paying you are treated with respect and clean rooms.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: The good, the bad and the ugly.

Damaged hotel unrepaired. A la carte not worth it. Bad food indigestion for 4 days and closes down 2 days after. Privilege section without supervision. We pay (300$ extra approx.) but anyone went there. Room was ok. and we were lucky ones because we heard of horror stories. No more Cuba for a while, until they get their things together. Beaches need some taken care of before they disappear
