Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Not great

Front desk staff were rude and unwilling to help with basic requests, resort staff made us constantly feel they were greasing us for tips, and were often rude as-well. Cleaning lady cleaned out room 2 times in 7 days, and would knock on our door asking to clean in the evenings when we wanted privacy. We all got food poisoning. Our mattress was upside down and had springs digging into our backs - sleep was difficult, if we weren’t awake vomiting. Not fun. The air Canada representative at the reso [... read more]rt refused to give us our return bus timing, so we had to pay for a taxi. This was my first resort experience, I won’t be doing it again.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Shuttle drivers were excellent

Buffet dining room staff were not the friendliest . It took forever to get a glass of wine (over 20 minutes . The dining room often ran out of cutlery and food was cold especially at breakfast Rooms were ok Pool temperature was perfect Only tried one a la carte meal…we were not impressed at all

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Rio palace Dominican republic Punta, Cana

I am not recommending this hotel at all. My room was dirty and falling apart with the bad smell of mould The food wasn’t good at all, not at the Buffet and not in Resturant The service was great people were helpful. The only problem they don’t speak English well only Spanish so it was hard to communicate with them. They tried to understand what we want, but not successfully.

Riu Bambu: Riu bambu review

the hotel was really good, food was good, pools, beach. Everything about it was lovely and likeable glad i booked to stay here. Would definitely recommend to friends and family looking to go to a resort in punta cana, Any of the riu resorts never disappoint!!

Grand Bavaro Princess: Sun, sand and salt water : perfect. Resort itself: not bad, Food; Meh!

Beach is fantastic, never had a problem finding shade or a beach chair. Rooms were clean and modern. (Turn off the lights at night, combined with the gaps around the doors and you have a mosquito highway. As for entertainment… we could find none. The food is good but, the good stuff is held ransom you will wait, and wait. Half the grill is used at a time, they are in no rush, one person at a time. 95% of the staff in the resort seem to be happy and friendly.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Incredible getaway!

My daughter and I went on our first mother daughter trip and this resort totally blew us away! We enjoyed the daily poolside activities, the stunning room, incredible meals! We had the absolute best time and made so many memories here! Highly recommend this resort! My daughter can’t wait to go back

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful time!

Friendly and welcoming staff, good food and drinks. Entertainment team kept us laughing and made the experience more memorable! :) Loved the different restaurants they offered. Overall a great time!!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Good family resort

Buildings and grounds well maintained, clean, modern. Pool was amazing - huge, spacious, lots of different areas for young kids and adults. Hotel room had several issues during the week. Food was mediocre, but expected for Punta Cana. A la cartes were full and no availability during our entire trip, so book early if you can.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Excellente!

I just returned from a week at Secrets Tides. I watched so many videos, scoured the FB group, and read so many reviews that by the time I arrived I was already so familiar with the place! The resort is beautiful, and very well laid out. I stayed for one week in a Preferred Club Swim Up which was perfect. Shout out to Skinny Girl; she is super fun! Robely at the Preferred Club check-in and lounges will always greet you with a welcoming smile. When the staff asks, “how are you today”, they truly care! Miguel and Sujeidy at the Reef building Preferred Club lounge are awesome. The 3 pools are fabulous. There’s the main pool, the quiet pool (near the Manatees bar) and the Preferred pool. The preferred pool was crazy busy most days. The towel game here is real. Another advantage to having a swim-up! Having said that, the quiet pool was great – beautiful, peaceful and lots of lounge chair availability. The food is good. Michelin star? No. But does anyone go to a tropical All-Inclusive for the food? You will not go hungry and there are a variety of options at all restaurants. If you’re not happy with your food selection, order something else. So much discussion about whether the preferred club is worth it, and I truly believe it’s simply personal preference. I always opt for it because it’s my preference. However, if you are on the fence about spending the extra money, I say this: if you have never done it, I don’t think you will miss it. The non-preferred pools are gorgeous. The non-preferred swim-up rooms look spectacular. The Rendezvous lobby bar is fab and always buzzing with a great vibe. The breakfast and lunch options at the Market Café buffet are plentiful. If an additional restaurant option for breakfast and lunch, upgraded alcohol and a room closer to the ocean are priorities, then you will want to book Preferred Club. If those are not deal breakers, I honestly don’t think you’ll miss out. I believe that once you book preferred, you may not go back – but, again, that is just my opinion. Overall, I had a wonderful trip and recommend this resort.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Perfect destination wedding resort

We were here for a wedding in December 2024. The resort is clean. There is a lot to do on the resort - waterpark, lazy river, smaller kids pool, beach volleyball, bocce ball, arcade etc. This is probably the best resort we have been to for great service in every area (bar service, maids, pool service, and servers) The staff is very attentive and you do not have to tip to get good service, however I am sure they are appreciative of any tips. Food is good and a lot of selection. The taco truc [... read more]k at the water park was fabulous. The only draw back is there are a lot of weddings at this resort. A lot of large parties due to weddings, so there were restaurants not available every night for dinner as they were booked for receptions . If you also go in a large group and want to eat together, they have a limited menu to choose from (to make it easier and quicker for the cooks and service). They did allow different options for anyone that did not want the limited menu, but we found it was better to eat in smaller groups to get the food we wanted. The beach is nice and well maintained but the water has a very strong undertow. I think there was a red flag 5 out of 7 days. Security on the resort is very good - especially near the beach area. It was a very nice resort and I would go here for a wedding anytime.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort

Beach was beautiful. The food was really good. Coffee bar was amazing! Our balcony jacuzzi didn’t work nor did they try to fix it or resolve the situation.. so it was a bath not a jacuzzi… the entertainment was weak but the drinks were good.

Paradisus Grand Cana: Dec 2024

The hotel faculties were clean and well kept. The room was spacious. The beach was clean and free of seaweed. Although there was not direct walking access to the beach, they did have transportation to the beach area. The food in the buffet was always the same. Although they indicated specials, eg mexican Day, USA day. There was no change. Food that was precooked sitting under heat was dry and hard. The A la carte restaurant food was inconsistent . Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Beautiful resort

Iberostar Waves was a beautiful resort. The grounds were immaculate. The rooms were newly renovated with fresh calming colours. They were in the middle of sanding the doors and painting them. The food was amazing. They had such a variety of food for everyone to enjoy. The resort is environmentally friendly. There was no garbage, plastic bottles to be seen. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Not as good the second time around

This was our second time staying at the resort in 2024. Pros: *Beautiful resort with a beautiful beach *Clean *A variety of restaurants throughout the properties with various cuisines. We enjoyed Yurta, Dominican, Asian Fusion and Meats Restaurant staff are very friendly *Building 64 and 67 (not the service road side) are ideal for beach, pool, and smaller breakfast and lunch buffets (i.e. limited variety) Cons: *No cold water in our room during our 9 day stay. We were told it was [... read more] a third floor issue as the pump wasn't strong enough. Shower was unbearable. Couldn't wait to get home to shower. *Toilet in our room did not flush at times (no cold water). This was crazy. We had to use the lobby several times (5 minute walk). *No communication re. any water issues. *Restaurants - Fish Market and the Brazilian. The Fish Market lacks staff and service. Brazilian had a great ambiance, but food is subpar. *There are a lot of cats on the property. There have been new litters since we were last here. *Bring heavy strength bug spray and afterbite, i.e. Deep Woods or Muskol. The bugs come out after dinner and attack the ankles and legs.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Very good resort! Grounds were impecable!

First off the resort complex has EVERYTHING you could possibly need! Our room was on the ground floor of Villa 91 just off the pool. It was exactly what I requested and needed. The Esmeralda main pool was just outside our room. Its busy during the day so as long as you are good with music and laughter you will be AOK this close to the pool. The FOOD ... the food at most of the restaurants was only good to very good. Not great or excellent. EXCEPT for YURTA, the food that night was EXCELLENT. The Greek, oh my gosh, it was terrible and they really need to do a better job there. Casa Bella was very good, Maiko Japanese (Punta Cana) was good, El Oliva Mediterranean was good, Beach buffet and the main buffet were very good, fresh and loads to choose from. LIMBO bar at the Ambar was also excellent. Top shelf and the two bartenders that were there from Dec 6 to the 13th were so much fun! Pool was fairly cloudy most days but on the 4th day there were complaints from a lot of people and the 5th day it was clean and clear. I would definitely go back to stay at the Esmeralda or Ambar. The other areas were very tired and in need of some TLC. All in all ... a restful, beautiful vacation.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

All around great resort! Food was great at the a la carte restaurants. I highly recommend the Tierra restaurant (Amazonian cuisine). We went from Dec 6-13 and it was not busy. We basically had the Family Sun Club pools all to ourselves for two days out of the 7. Check in/check out was a breeze. The resort app is great as you can make your dinner reservations, see where the restaurant is located, order room service, and many more options. The only negative thing is as soon as you set foot on the [... read more] beach, you get harassed by the vendors. Buyer beware of the tours sold on the beach. They may not be as advertised by the seller.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Good value

We enjoyed the resort although the room left a little to be desired. first of all the bathroom was never cleaned properly our entire stay, also the door to the toilet area made horrendous noise each time it was opened or closed. The living room curtains were impossible to open and the door itself had a broken handle and locking system and we had to get a handy man in to kind of repair it. Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Excellent resort

The food was great. Lots of restaurants and you didn't need to make reservations. Check-in was super quick. Everything is new and clean. Very safe. Beach was awesome. I would highly recommend. Gym was well equipped. The quiet pool was just that - quiet. There are ceiling speakers in the room so you can play your own music. They thought of everything. It is about 50 minutes from the airport.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing resort

We stayed in the adults only section. The room was large and very comfortable. The pool bar staff was awesome. The pool was clean and refreshing. Loved the adult buffet! I would definitely return to this resort.
