Selectum Family Resort Varadero: very good resort

very good food except meat. we guess that it is due to embargo. so no complain. dining service is slow in rush hours. Phone service is not working. We requested few missing towels but no response. Service to rooms is non existing.

Playa Pesquero: Been back many times we love this place!

I think this was my 6th time back to Playa, my parents have been going for 20 years and have taken us a few times and my sisters, and I have returned with them many times since. We went last year and for the first time brought my son, this year they are in much better shape staffing and food wise than last year. My 4-year-old had the best time and hadn't stopped talking about it since last year. A new addition I loved this year was the fresh churros being fried each morning for breakfast, they were sooooooo good! Cant wait to be back next year!!!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Great Resort

We just got back from a week at the Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin and did an on-premise upgrade to Premium class. The resort: It is beautiful, new and modern and well laid out, with the usual Cuban oddities. The week we were there was very odd in terms of resort occupancy. The Sanctuary area was fairly well booked, but the non-Sanctuary area of the resort was virtually empty. Close to empty pools, very few people. Not sure if this was because the North-American school breaks were o [... read more]ver or the general warnings about food shortages, but occupancy for the resort in general was very low (I heard 50%). This is the time we normally travel to Cuba and are used to it being prime season with full resorts. One good side-effect is that the price was very reasonable - we paid less for upgraded room (mini-suite overlooking the ocean plus Premium Service and Priority Elite on the plane) for roughly what we would have had to pay for basic travel/room at DR or Mexico. Premium: We upgraded to the Premium service and while fairly expensive, it was a game-saver due to the food situation (more on that later). The butler service was very good in the day (Heyli was awesome), the nighttime butler was pretty much useless. Food: Cuba is going through a very rough patch and it showed in a number of areas on the resort - primarily in the area of food. While the resort obviously tried it's best to work with what it had, the variety and quantity of the food was very poor. For instance one day there was absolutely no bread on the resort. I never saw any fresh fruit, and vegetables were restricted. Primarily the staple was rice and eggs. There was usually some chicken and occasionally beef or pork, but they typically ran out during each meal period. And of course there was always the staple - hotdogs (no buns) and sausage. The Premium service provided a-la-carte breakfast, lunch, and supper. We only used the a-la-carte breakfast once but almost exclusively used a-la-carte lunch and supper. While the a-la-cartes had restricted choice, the food was well-prepared and presented. TripCentral: We booked through tripcentral. I think they have the best website for easily finding travel packages for the dates you want. Once we paid we were assigned a travel agent who provided timely and helpful trip information and was very quick to respond to my enquiries. Sunwing: While we had 45 minute flight delays both ways (plus a longer delay leaving because one passenger didn’t board the flight - they were eventually able to track her down in an airport bar) but the flights were uneventful and the crews were outstanding (fun and personable). We paid extra to upgrade our seats to Priority Elite which gave extra leg room - extremely worth it on the long flights. The bonus was that we had priority check-in and supposedly priority baggage service. In reality the priority baggage service was non-existent. But the priority check-in at Halifax was much-appreciated. There was a very long check in line for regular seats but the priority line had no one in

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing Vacation!

This was out first time at Grand Memories and second time time in this area. There were five in our party, grandparents, parents and teenagers. We had a very positive experience. Our flight and check in went very smoothly. The entertainment staff, especially Jason and Yonky, were amazing and their people skills were exceptional. The food, grounds and rooms were great! We were very happy with our adjoining room. Loved the carts that shuttled guests around. The beach at this property was out [... read more]standing. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Very nice resort

We found there was more variety in food choices over at Grand Memories . That is where we tended to eat at dinner time . Sanctuary had a beautiful big pool but we are beach people and it was spectacular. The staff were absolutely amazing always making sure you had what you needed .

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful

From our arrival to departure- exceptional! The staff…all of them are so friendly and helpful. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are in good shape, the pools are beautiful, the beach is stunning. The food was good but the menu was repetitious. I highly recommend this resort. The nightly entertainment was the best ive seen at any resort. Everything was wonderful.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Amazing resort !!

This was our second time at this resort as we absolutely love it !! Beautiful resort, clean rooms, good food, absolutely stunning beaches, gorgeous pools, fantastic staff, nothing at all to complain about. We will definitely be back to this fantastic resort. Thank you for everything !!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great Vacation

The beach is amazing. The people are so welcoming hotel is very clean. Carlos the Bartender at the club was always there to meet our needs. The food was good there’s not a lot of selection but we expected that we would go again.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: 3 star resort..

Staff was welcoming and accommodating. Beautiful lobby! Cappuccinos were soooo good!! Room was a little dated. Beds were super comfy. Had some minor issues with the room, but no biggie. Food was ok… everyone knows that you come to Cuba for the beaches!!! THE BEACH IS BEAUTIFUL!!! The pool was refreshing!! Bartenders.. were such a pleasure to have! The groundskeepers were amazing. The main issue that we faced were the locals on the resorts with the boldness and lack of respect they showed for other tourists, resort and more than ever, the staff. For example, was lack of plates because they would take multiples for one person. Buffet line would be crazy busy.. one person would lineup then all of a sudden six or seven people would jump in making everyone behind waiting for an omelet up to 40 minutes…. Which was insane! The dining room staff are very nice but need to be a bit more attentive to the guests and making sure they have cutlery, napkins or even offered water or coffee. Most times I would have to track someone down to get a place setting for a table and a drink! After a couple of days we would go to the buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner at opening just so we would get a plate and avoid the lineups or have to wait on food to come out just to be able to eat. They were just rude… not all but some. We will return to Cuba but sadly not to this resort.. which sucks because the staff are what really made our trip easy.

Starfish Cayo Largo: My home away from home

I go to this resort 4 times per year. Sometimes with my daughter, sometimes with my husband and often by myself. I have physical limitations and love the fact that everything is accessible on the resort. The rooms are dated but are extremely clean and very comfortable. The food selection is great. I always eat very well during my stays. The staff is absolutely the best. So friendly, helpful and always smiling. I enjoy the pool every day and the beach view is incredible. I just came back from a 2 week stay last Wednesday and today (4 days later) I booked my next trip in May.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Our home away from home

Hubby and I just returned from two weeks at Club Amigo. We have been there many times and know what the issues are in Cuba at this time but we definitely did not have any problems at all. As always, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the resort is very clean, we did not find any shortages (except for rum, which we do not drink anyway), Plenty of wine, beer, spirits. Food was plentiful, you will not go hungry here. Nightly entertainment was wonderful. Weather was perfect and the beache [... read more]s are beautiful. We love this place and will definitely be going back again next year!

Grand Memories Varadero: Very bad resort

Hotel is run down. Washrooms are terrible. No toilet paper. No napkins. Room very dirty. No hot water. Phone in the room not working. It was a very nad experience. No spoons. Food was terrible. Bed sheets dirty.

Iberostar Coral Ensenachos: Amazing resort

It was paradise!! The beach is just wow!! The staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful! The food was ok. They do their best to make your vacation wonderful. The rooms are large, spacious and very clean. The hot tub is a bonus! I would go back!

Sol Palmeras: Highly Recommend

We arrived before check in so were not able to access our room but the staff were able to store our things. Everything is very close and we could easily walk to pool, beach, shops and restaurants. Staff were amazing and a huge shout out to Osiris the Customer Service Manager and Beatrice at the mojioto bar who are the BEST. You have to be early to the pool for a chair. A few days the pool could have been cleaned but water was clear and a great temp. A nice balance of quiet and activities happeni [... read more]ng. Beach is stunning but 6 days of our stay we couldn't go in ocean due to waves. Nothing the resort can do about that. Better to be safe. Very relaxing sitting in sun listening to waves. No bar on beach but very close by. I think they were building something. Buffet had lots of options. A la Cartes were top notch...and hot! Have to book early ( before 10am) Entertainment was every night and very enjoyable. Disco was equally fun and open 11-1. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we never went without hot water, ac, bottled water, etc. Everything about Sol Palmeras was incredible and we will be back...as our many others that we met there who are return guests. This place is a gem ?

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Great resort

The accommodation and food were great. The staff was friendly. Other than the bad internet connection, rocky beach, and room door lock not locking all the time, we had an amazing stay at this beautiful resort.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Beyond expectations

My mother and I spent a week in March in this little corner of paradise. We could not have been more happy with our choice. The resort is immaculate, set on beautifully kept grounds right on the ocean. The white sand beach is postcard perfect with crystal clear turquoise water. The staff were all above amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and entertained. Every day was different with themes, special dinners, a fiesta with local artisans, a beach party, shows and more. It w [... read more]asn’t over-the-top though and it was easy to opt out and find a quiet spot to just chill. The food was plentiful, with lots of selection. The outdoor restaurants El Jardin and Sendero offered special experiences for lunches. The resort was only about half-full, but that did not deter the staff. The rooms were well appointed, very clean, and comfortable, although with a few signs of wear. There was a blackout in the community during our stay but the resort was not at all affected. We only found out because some of the staff mentioned it. We would love to return and would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a relaxing, safe time in a beautiful setting with lovely people.

Playa Pesquero: Over 20 years, still love this place

Brought our grandson again, 4 years old, and had a wonderful week. Weather was perfect, food assortment was good and a trip to local animal shelter was worth the trip. Great event across the road with lots of food, drink and entertainment. We did the VIP to the airport on the return trip and got see Holgiun and enjoyed the air conditioning at the airport VIP lounge.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Resort

The staff are so friendly, great food and plenty of it, beautiful beach, lots of activities to get involved, including games for adults and kids. Great pools, fresh beach towels daily. They are currently renovating so there have been some issues reported on rooms but if your like me you wont be in there except to sleep and shower. Great shows every night. Will definitely go again.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Awesome resort

Stayed for a week there wife ky husband and have zero complaints. The staff are absolutely amazing and go above and beyond for anything you my need. Amazing excursion to sign up for or activites to participate in. So much fun had ??❤️
