Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Beach

Overall the resort was clean and the food was average. The rooms where a bit outdated. The staff was friendly, and helpful when something was needed.Walk to the beach was a bit out of the way and there where no ocean front rooms. The resort was still under some reno's from the hurricane.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Hiding away at the Royalton Riviera Cancun

We stayed in the Hideaway section of the Royalton in December. We also chose the Diamond Club option. The GOOD - - Fabulous resort, contemporary furnishings, very clean including all the grounds. - Well appointed rooms with comfy beds, rainfall showers, safe for valuables, mini bar, room service large flat screen TV with a huge array of channels including HBO, TNT, Space, etc. The TV was the control centre for all the programming at the hotel and info. - The room also had a lot of outle [... read more]ts both normal 110v and USB. That was super handy. Wifi service was top notch (great connectivity). - Our butler Miguel was fantastic -- he decorated our room for our anniversary and always was looking to see how he could make our visit a great one - The buffet is the best we have ever had at an all inclusive resort - a large assortment of options including a gelato bar (the cinnamon and chocolate were our faves) - A large array of options for dining. - The breakfast at the Dorado was wonderful. Close to the beach and nice to be served. - Friendly helpful staff - Lots of comfy loungers by the pool - The resort is a mere 15 minutes from Cancun airport. The NEEDS IMPROVEMENT - BEVERAGES - The house wines are really not great. The champagne was ok in Mimosa's but not so great otherwise, and the other house wines were not great either. We don't require the most expensive, but we have stayed at other resorts where the house wines were considerably better. So if you want a decent bottle of wine - spring for something on the list. The cocktail menu was quite good though! - ROOM CLEANING - we let our butler know we liked our room cleaned in the mornings. One day we came back to the room mid afternoon and the room had not been touched even though we had been gone about 6 hours. It took 3 calls and 2 hours to get it resolved and get us clean towels so we could bathe for dinner. That was not great. Giving credit where it is due - our butler went the next day and made sure our room was made up! Miguel was fantastic! - We had some minor glitches at some a la carte restaurants. It wasn't that busy as we went in mid December, but they brought all my food at once at Zen (soup, main). Also, my hubby got served his beverage right away and I had to ask twice for mine. Then they come and apologize to my hubby, when his meal was fine. Odd that - apologies should go to the person you inconvenience folks. - Also the elevator was not working 2-3 times when we were there -- however it was not far to take the stairs and if one needed an elevator there was one a little further down the road All told, it was a great experience and we thought the resort was beautiful. We would likely go back and hope that the resort finds the feedback worthwhile. Note -- I would likely have given the resort a 4.5 star if I could have

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Very clean and new

The food was exceptional and the staff in all areas were generous, kind and friendly. I loved the sitting down check in where we were assisted with immediately. Our check in guide made us feel like we were royalty. The place was so grand and clean. I would rate this place 4/5. I do have little kids so the only thing I wanted more of was children friendly entertainment. Their shows and day time activities/involvement often were geared towards an older crowd.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Definitely not a 5 star property

THE GOOD: The staff are great. Very friendly and attentive. Great service. The Chef went out of his way to make special food platters for us with the limited resources available to him. The entertainers were extremely talented and of high quality. The suite we stayed a in was spacious and airy with a good view of the ocean. The 300, 400 and 500 blocks all have a great ocean view. And the beach itself was gorgeous as is typical of Cuba. Apples,fresh lemons and lettuce were not available as was the case with papayas and bananas. This was probably due to the aftermath of the hurricane. We did get more fresh fruit during the end of our stay (last 3 days) but they were unripe and generally without flavor. The cocktails like mojitos and daiqueries were nothing short of awful. THE UGLY: There was some sort of bug that was absolutely nasty. People called them sand flies but they were like tiny mosquitoes that had a terrible bite that lasted days after the vacation was done. There was a constant shortage of ketchup which was strange as the buffet at the sister resort (which we had access to) had a plentiful supply. The front desk had no clue what was going on with respect to the dining options that were open or closed on the day. Overall not as smooth running as one would expect from a five star property. Would be perhaps a 2.5 or at the most a 3 star by Canadian standards

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Resort!

Very nice resort but too far from the city. There was also a really strong sewer odor in all the elevators. The staff were helpful but couldn't speak English very well. The concierge was always trying to sell us the resort credits. To top it off, my husband sprained his ankle going into the ocean. There should be signs up alerting the people to be careful going in because of bumpy sand when entering. Hotel was nice enough to lend us a wheelchair for the remainder of our stay. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: We enjoyed our stay!

This place has a daily schedule full of activities for kids, adults and/or families. Schedules of daily activities are posted a week at a time so you can make plans. All the pools are great. The restaurants are great. The staff at all levels were great too. The one negative was the concierge on my floor who couldn't understand or get it when we said no to the "time share breakfast." They don't call it a time share but it is! For a 3 year old hotel and a five star rating the room we had was in n [... read more]eed of repairs ( rusting faucets, broken desk top, dirty curtains, broken chunks of wood from doors to furniture and a broken door handle). The TENNIS Pro (HECTOR) was amazing. I participated in the lessons as did my daughter's. We thoroughly enjoyed our lessons and looked forward to them daily. The resort is surrounded my mangroves so there are mosquitoes in the evenings. The beach and sand are great. Swimming in the ocean was fantastic. Resort is located 15 minutes from Cancun Airport and is situated by itself which we enjoyed. This holiday for us was about just relaxing and not running around to and from tourist sites. The spa was also very good.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great resort and the most fabulous holiday

Excellent services...Room was impeccable, food was fantastic and always fresh. Beach facilities was pare great. The employees at this resort are what have made all my stays so enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and always interested to hear about your day and greet you with a smile! I also enjoy the food at this resort and it has a great variety and even the buffet is phenomenal. The beach was beautiful. Been going to Hideaway every year since it open and always looked forward to meeting up with Carlos and catching up with the last year. Everything as this resort was beyond my expectations. Food ,Service, rooms, property 100% wonderful highly recommend this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Beautiful Resort, friendly service.

The staff was friendly and helpful, room was amazing, presidential suite. Butlers were awesome. Went above and beyond to look after us. Food was overall good. Only complaint was hideaway section was very quiet. Not much going on in the way of entertainment. Also that vendors on beach were very very pushy and would not let up. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Honest review

My wife and I stayed in room 0103 Nov 23rd to Nov 30th 2017. Upon arriving at this resort you feel you have just walked into a tropical, çolonial village that is partially built over waterways. It is a beautiful setting and you can tell that the design concept was to awe you. Check in was smooth and quick, very professional and classy. The cool towels and sparkling wine were nice. The room itself was clean and our room maid tidied it and made our bed everyday and left us towel art to admire. Our Butler George was there for us if we needed anything which for us was not much. We are very independent but he had to book the Al'carte restaurants. Pros of the Resort: #1 is the staff. Unbelievable service and friendliness. Everyone from the cleaning staff to cooks, entertainment team to store clerks were the same; top notch. Special mention to all bartenders who work their asses off for very very long hours. Rufolfo in the main bar; I pray your dreams comes true, you have more ambition and charactor than any North American young man of your age, you deserve what you are working to achieve. # 2 is the beach. OMG! Beautiful, clean and inviting. Its the Caribbean. #3: The pools. Although they are not heated, they were refreshing free form that you could spend all day enjoying. #4: Activities and theme days. Each day has a theme. Cuba Day, Canada Day, Fright Night (like Halloween), and a few others. The decorating and entertainment teams do a great job at this as well as this provides guests with a change up of different styles of food in the Buffet. This is a great idea. 👍 #5 is the Cuban Sandwich.🍔 #6 is the Ice Cream. 🍦 #7: I hope you like strong drinks...🍹 #8: Although the food is hit and miss, it's generally really good. Though don't expect a juicy tender Lobster or Crab. Cubans over cook and a lot of the food in the Buffet sits on warmers for long periods. There was no shortage of anything except some fresh vegetables such as peas and beans were substituted for canned. Post Irma some items are rare. Tomatoes and Onions for example. Not the Resort's fault. Resort Cons: This is tough because the resort has very limited resources in construction material and fittings. It's not the fault of any one who works there. #1 is poor condition of plumbing fixtures, in suite lighting, and appliances. Many towel racks and faucets really need changing. Our mirror was pretty corroded as well. The fridge worked but the shelf was broken and the bottom of the fridge was pretty rusty. #2: I question food safety: ie: The cooking station chefs load raw meats onto the grill and then with the same tongs will pick up your cooked meat and place on your plate. YIKES! MANAGEMENT: PLEASE HAVE YOUR COOKS USE SEPARATE TONGS FOR RAW AND COOKED MEATS!!! My wife and I both had the runs for several days. 💩 Would we go back? Yes. Mainly to support the hard working staff and enjoy the beach and pools. Would we recommend this resort? Yes, this is the best Cuba has to offer.

I did not expect this place to be as nice ad it is. Loved everything about it. Buildings design, rooms ,pools,the buffet, the food all awesome. Beach is great, people are friendly. Definitely would like to return.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Awsome Resort

This resort is perfect for someone who wants to stay only at the resort and enjoy the beach, restaurants, and simply relax. The airport is only 30min away - makes for a very quick trip to/from the resort. The adults only section is perfect ... great service, and great food. The beach is steps away. The ice cream & coffee shop on site is perfect .... great selection. Also, we booked with Brenda Melo, she was a great help. Highly recommend talking to Brenda. Have fun!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Fantastic Resort

We just got back last week from the Royalton and the whole trip was great! The people were so very nice and personable. The food was fabulous, I have no idea why people would say the food is bland. We did not have not have even one meal that was disappointing. The service and the people are top notch. We would definitely go back.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Wonderful resort!

We had a great week at the Roylaton (Hideway-Adult section). The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. Christian our butler made sure our needs were met. Our room was spacious, modern and overlooked the ocean. The bed was very comfortable! Room service was efficient. The food was very good and well presented. The Hideaway at Royalton is fantastic. Great food! Great rooms! Great service! The staff is always pleasant and helpful-always a pleasure to serve their clients -- "es un placer" is what they all say. It is a beautiful resort.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Fantastic White Sand Resort

Super friendly and helpful staff (Petulla, Karisha, Cecilia, Denby, Jessup and Kaisha). Amazed on how clean the beach was with no garbage. Loved the shows especially the Bob Marley show. The Food was average.

The resort is amazing, the choices for food were excellant, and the staff were always polite and wanted to help. It is a shame the same cannot be said for the Sunwing portion of this trip. Sunwing go out of their way to make things difficult, especially during the flight, the aeroplane was a disgrace and the flight crew were impollite. Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful Resort! But aggressiveness of vendors was unwelcomed!

We upgraded to Diamond Club. I can't say that the room was much better than the Luxury Standard Room but the location and view was better. We didn't use the butler service because we were travelling with a group and it was much easier to plan and make our own reservations, etc. All the other services they offered could have been gotten by just calling the front desk. The others we tried were very good also but every time we planned on going to a specialty restaurant, it seemed to be closed for the night. Our bad because we didn't check the schedule and I guess there is a restaurant closed every night. We just always picked the wrong one. The reason I would not return to this resort is because of the vendors! We hadn't even been to our rooms on check-in, we still had our travelling clothes and carry on bags with us and we were approached by vendors giving us "free" gifts. They were very aggressive and practically physically brought us to their tables to have a look. After that initial encounter, we avoided the area entirely. I like to browse but in peace without someone trying to "force" a sale. I think the resort should regulate the vendors they choose to let on the premises. I would have bought more from them if I was just left alone to browse!

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: amazing resort (Correction**) AMAZING STAFF!!!!!!!!

My wife and I loved the resort, the employees were all absolutely amazing and made our honeymoon sweeter than we could have ever expected. It isn't often when you can connect with people in a surreal genuine way but this occurred for my wife and I at the Royalton in Negril. As peculiar as this sounds, it felt as if everybody at the hotel were our family and although my wife and I wanted to get back to real life we felt emotionally tethered to the employees at the Royalton and because of this we  [... read more]were reluctant to leave. Some of the employees that we would like to mention: Keno Maxian Laticia Clithy David Kendra Shanae Chris The only sadness that I have in writing this review is that there were so many other employees who I can remember their actions, smiles, kind words, support and overall love and care but I can't remember their names and that is a fault on me not them. This trip has prompted me just to be better at remembering the names of the loving people who contribute to my life. I am honestly so honoured to have been able to meet and speak with and get to know the above listed people and even the ones whose names I cannot remember.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Lots of changes

Hotel still nice but they no longer have casino but still advertise it and took a $600 us dollars deposit on credit card and said they'd credit it back on check-out day they didn't and now I have to file dispute against the hotel with credit card company. The bar rail isn't refilled daily anymore and they expect you to make a 26 ounce bottle to last the entire stay. Very disappointing to pay top dollar and get sub par services.
