Friendly Fun Vallarta: FRIENDLY VALLARTA

The staff working at the resort are very friendly. We liked the heated pool and the hot tubs, they were kept very clean. You do have to reserve a chair before 7 am around the pool. The room was very clean and facing the ocean. The food was so so. Almost every day they had nice size shrimp for buffet. We had hamburger one day at the grill by the beach and it was cold and dry and the bun was dry. Never tried it again. The pizza was awesome with a thin crust. Tried the Ranchero Grill first  [... read more]time the beef was good the next time it was so tough could not cut it even. It would be nice to have some days nice steaks. All in all there was a variety to choice from. The resort is well located close to everything. One of the nicest hotel we have been to. Definitely will be back!!!!!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort

Pros: we had a room in a building close to buffet, beach and pool. Pool was clean and drinks were great. Lots of activities for teens. Staff around pool, buffet and entertainment were super nice and friendly. Buffet food was excellent Cons: air conditioning did not work in room, a la cartes were ok but not accommodating for large groups. Check in process was slow, unorganized and staff were rude

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort

Had a wonderful time, friendly staff, resort was clean, spa was amazing, I would return! Beach was great, lots of chairs to lay by pool- in or out of water. Activities all day long to keep you entertained. If you wanted quiet time you could go to quiet pool

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Great Resort - Watch out for Sales Scam

Had a wonderful time at this resort. Stayed in the preferred section and loved the room and service. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous, didn't have a bad meal all week. Room service was a nice touch as well. Lots of chairs and beach towels. This would have been a perfect holiday if it wasn't for being smoothly roped into signing up with their Unlimited Vacation Club program. BEWARE this is a SCAM. It costs a lot of money and the benefits are not as good as the [... read more]y make them out to be. After coming home and looking closer at the 41 page contract I found out that even with their discounts I can still get a cheaper package through an online booking agent. You would be hard press to ever break even during the term of the contract (30yrs) even with the free weeks they offer. Mexican law has a 5 day back out clause which is too late by the end of your holiday. I am out a pile of money that I will probably never see again. Avoid the resort tour and enjoy your holiday. Don't fall for the free gifts because these guys are smooth and good. I know about time share scams and my wife and I fell for this one. It's not a time share but a SCAM all the same. I do not recommend because of the high pressure sales tactics they put their guest thru. SHAME ON YOU Secrets.

Vista Club Playa De Oro: Very good family oriented hotel

The rooms were a bit dated but adequate. Provided only one bottle of water for the entire week for four people. Would have been nice to have one per day. No hair dryer but I expected this as it wasn't listed . The food at the pool snack bar was very good, as well as the buffet and the specialty restaurant. Lots of activities for children. Nice beach across the street from the resort. Over all a very fun vacation for the whole family.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great family resort

Really enjoyed the entire resort, rooms, pools, shopping and activities. The food was not the best. At the buffets, the meat was well done at best. Restaurants were much better, I would upgrade to include a la carte for the entire week if we were to return. Tip: while the buffets over cooked the meat, restaurants under cooked it, medium was closer to rare-medium.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Exceeded expectations!

Resort was absolutely fabulous! Food, facilities, staff, entertainment, grounds....everything was wonderful! The most important bit of information that I can pass on is that this resort actually has a complete adults only area at the far end of the resort. As we walked along the beach on our first day we came to signs saying adults only and from then on the beach section, beach bar, infinity pool, pool bar and restaurant within this area is kids free. I do not think this was well explained in an [... read more]y of the online information or reviews I read and was such a welcome find as we had been tossing up between Akumal and Sian Kaan for this reason, but chose Akumal to be on the beach.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Good resort!

Azul Fives is a good resort. Our room was good, and the food was good. We had smoothies a few times of day. There were evenings when certain restaurants would move their tables outside which was a fun change. We especially liked the sushi restaurant. We saw monkeys almost every day, as well as a couple other animals that we don't have at home. We would definitely return.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Fantastic Resort

Our fifth time staying at this resort (two week stays each time). Grounds well laid out, food, facilities and lodging nestled into a mostly treed property, that opens to the large pool area and then the beach as you make your way to the ocean along the central cobblestone path from your room. Some areas of the resort are a bit dated, but well maintained despite this fact (gym, some features of the rooms, and some of the furnishings in common areas). Staff very friendly and competent. It shows in their attitudes, and management does a good job of keeping them motivated and engaged. Beach and patio loungers are newer, comfortable and well cared for each day. Housekeeping is diligent and consistent. Beach is beautiful, plenty of shade and sun to suit your preference. Drink service very efficient. Lots of nice touches throughout the resort make it intimate and genuine for couples seeking a quiet, romantic holiday. Not a resort for those seeking great night life. Evening entertainment at the hotel is energetic and fun. Food is good to very good, depending where you dine. Capacity exists such that waiting in lines rarely to never happens. This is a beach resort--the beach is unparalleled, whether you want to lounge, walk or swim.

Crown Paradise Golden: Last trip to the Golden Crown never again

I've had better trips would be an understatement. The guest demographic has flipped to a locals resort. Some pool manners might be in order. Drinking like fish for 4+ hours and NEVER going to the Banos pretty much killed any chance the rest of the guests would ever get in again. I wont ever be back after many years at the resort.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great resort

Beautiful grounds, very clean eating facilities, clean throughout lobby and washrooms. Room service good. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Excellent food. Specialty restaurants excellent. Outdoor chairs somewhat limited. Too many chairs assigned to members which were mostly unused. Not happy with charges for WiFi.

Dreams Huatulco: A beautiful resort in a beautiful area

We are 60 years old who have travelled to most of the Caribbean islands and several Central American countries, usually staying in 4 / 5 star all-inclusive resorts. We prefer smaller type resorts with a chance to visit the local area. We have been to this area once before and found the local people basically, polite, friendly and comfortable to be around whether at the resort or in town which is why we went back to the Huatulco area. This one week trip we chose the Dreams Resort based on compe [... read more]titive pricing we received through TripCentral and very good reviews being reported on Tripadvisor. We found the Dreams Huatulco resort to be one of the better experiences overall we have had at an all-inclusive resort. The meals and drinks were better than we have seen with good selections and no, to little waiting for seating in the restaurant’s or buffet. The resort, grounds and beach were very clean, plenty of seating and as always no matter where we go the early bird gets the best seats but I don’t think there are any bad seats at the Dreams Huatulco. The rooms were comfortable, clean and serviced twice a day which we found a little much, once a day is sufficient for the amount of time we spent in them. If you are people who like to sit by the pool, this resort offers what looked like to us two infinity pool for adults, a family pool and I’m going to call it a shady senior pool with lots of sunny or shady seating around them. With the resort being on the Pacific we found the waves not to be that strong with an optional place for easy access into the water where there was good snorkeling. There were many more items that impressed us with the Dreams Resort but overall the above are the basics we usually look for when choosing a place and a resort to go to. Based on our stay and talking to the many other people we met who were having the same experience as us at the resort we would have no problems recommending this resort and look forward to our return or checking out the other Dreams Resort locations. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great family resort!

Azul Fives provided everything we needed for our vacation. The facility was great, the food was good with lots of variety, and the staff were very helpful. We had been on cruises before that had lots of activities especially in the evening which we missed that there was more of.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya: The beach is disappointing...

Grand Velas has an amazing staff, great service, beautiful grounds, very good restaurants but unfortunately the beach is so rocky that makes your entrance into the water impossible... Water shoes is a must if you care about swimming in the ocean. For me the beach was a big disappointment since I am not a pool person and I really care about swimming in the ocean.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Fabulous

I was impressed on how helpful the staff were. Our door man was fantastic and directed us to some fun places. The resort was clean and food awesome. I had an excellent time. I would definitely return again.

Samba Vallarta: Boutique resort family friendly

Small resort. Lots of areas to sit and relax with many alternative Options for sun and shade. Excellent for all ages, especially young families (the large but shallow kids pool and pirate ship is a huge​ hit) and it suits those who like a more quiet, friendly, easy-going vacation scene. Dedicated, super friendly staff who truly enjoy their job and are concerned with the happiness of every guest. Amenities top notch. Great access to water, Bikes, Boogie boards​ available at no extra cost [... read more]. Food not exotic but adequate with plenty of options, fresh and something for every taste. We especially loved the custom prepared Smoothie Bar and plenty of varied fruits. Not far from Bucerius by bike or on foot. Good restaurants. Or take a bus, reasonable, to downtown Puerto Vallarta. Magnificent sunsets top off your day--ever day! If you don't particularly like the big resorts where you need a ride to the restaurant, lobby and main area----well Samba Vallarta is the place for you!!!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great family resort

The resort was the best we've ever stayed at. The staff was the best I've ever encountered. Food and drinks were great. The beach was nice, the snorkelling was great, many different fish. Would definitely stay again.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Friendly Resort

The Now Jade Riviera lived up to everything I had expected. The junior suites were clean and up to date. We stayed in building 2 on the non preferred side and had a third floor room with a comfortable balcony and nice view above the trees. We did not use the pool because we spent most of the time on the beach. The beach was nice though a bit seaweedy, but it was cleaned off daily. There were a lot of rocks in the water In front of the resort so we walked a short distance to the beach in front o [... read more]f the adjoining resort when we wanted to swim in order to avoid stepping on rocks in the water. This was not as arduous as it sounds. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Do take lots of small bills to tip the staff. We planned one day trip off the resort to Mayan ruins and snorkelling. Unfortunately I was unable to go on this trip because I was suffering from a severe case of suspected food borne illness (cramping, vomiting, diarrhea and fever) on our fourth day at the resort. They would not refund my money for the day trip. The resort did take down the particulars of my illness when my husband went to tell them at the front desk, but no one made any effort to follow up with me to see how I was doing, nor did they send someone to clean up as promised (garbage cans and toilet - I mean I was truly severely ill) despite my husband requesting this and leaving a substantial tip. My husband and children were fortunately not affected and went on the day trip while I suffered in our room. This is the only negative experience I had - almost 48 hours of being severely ill. I had been drinking and eating very moderately and used only bottled water to brush my teeth - and all our food was from the resort - so at least an acknowledgement of my situation by the resort would have been nice. And the loss of the $103US for my share of the day trip which was booked at the resort was also disappointing. I am thankful that I recovered before having to fly home because flying in that condition would have been impossible. Other than my illness and the disappointing response to that, everything else at the resort was as we had hoped and a very pleasant experience and the staff in the restaurants provided very good service.

Riu Cancun: Lovely experience

I had the best experience. I really appreciate the trio centre agent Karol who recommended me this resort. It was an amazing resort, it had everything what a tourist need in order to enjoy. Beach was awesome, rooms were very clean, amenities were amazing, waiters and ground personnel were very cooperative and had smile on their faces all the time. I recommend all of my friend to must go this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

Very clean. Grounds, gardens etc were emaculately kept. Excellent variety of food. Only surprise was that Akumal was no longer part of the package. It has become premier only resort. A la carte meals were excellent.
