Excellence Riviera Cancun: Excellence at the excellence!!

Just spent a week at the Excellence in Cancun Mexico. I have been to many all inclusive resorts before and by far this was the best. The staff, food, set up was perfect. The room was stocked everyday with water, munchies,,beer, pop etc. Staff was always so helpful, would bring you water, or drinks etc wherever you were in the resort. Dinner at night was in one of I think 7 amazing restaurants with no reservations or any hassles. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Fabulous resort.

The hotel was great. We loved the grounds and being able to walk through such a lovely landscape. There were lots of little kids for the pre-Christmas family vacation but my husband and I were always able to find places to swim and relax with noticing them. The highlight of our vacation was the spa. I think it must be a hidden gem because it is seems to go unnoticed. Great for us because we had lots of time to enjoy the great features from the massages to the pool. Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Great resort!

The resort was well kept. Everywhere you turned there were people working on the grounds or cleaning. There were many things to do, you could be as busy as you liked. I did a spin class in the water, kayaking and volleyball. I could see myself there with or without kids. The people were amazing and very accommodating. The service was over the top! Food was good. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Vacation with the grandkids

Great vacation spot pools and beach area were very clean We had access to another property which allowed us access to the kids pool area Buffet food was good but you need to get there shortly after they open They have dolphins on site great education for children Over all it was a wonderful place with a few minor glitches Spa for a break was really, really good

Tropicana Hotel: Tropicana Hotel - Peurto Vallarta, Mexico

The hotel was nice they upgraded me from Superior to Junior Suite ( I think they couldn't find me in the system) LOL I had only a small view to the ocean - mostly my view consisted of street behind the hotel and other condos.The room had a working AC, gas stove, fridge, and coffee maker, along w/ utensil rack including spatula, spaghetti strainer, etc... My main complaint was there was no items necessary to utilize the suite such as an alarm clock, paper towels, dish soap, kleenex's or even a c [... read more]up towel, they did have a dishrag though :). They did provide a set of dishes and cutlery for 2. There was also a little piece of foam under both mattresses which my travelling companions did not have on there's.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort with few negative points

Hotel is beautiful. Modern style and well kept. It is very clean. We had a Jr Suite and it was beautiful; lot of space, and very clean. Food is the best I have ever had among all the resorts I went I recommend Fuego and The Palapa for dinner. Staff is very kind and dedicated. Many transats and Bali beds at beach and pool; it is easy to get one. There are few issues. The resort space is not well exploited as far as we are concerned. -There are many nice bars but they are all empty making [... read more] atmosphere boring. -Lot of empty space where they could for instance organize evening events like a tapas bar with music. -The nightlife is rather quiet and when there is a show, it is not in a theatre; the stage is on the main floor and it is hard to see if you are not seated in front row. -Beach is rather small. -Buffet is a little limited in variety but food is good. -The adult section should have the tequila tasting salon and the cigar room rather than the family section. -Towel system should be revised; they are very strict you only have one towel you can change whenever you want.One of the person travelling with us has backspin. We asked for an extra towel and the hotel staff refused to satisfy our demand even after we explained him the reason why Though I really enjoyed by vacation at Paradisus La Perla.I probably will not go back because of the atmosphere.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Nice Enough

Hotel was mostly pleasant. A plumbing issue in our room was a bit of a hassle and took two days to get fixed (frustrating to be in a room with two children under 3 and no working sink), but after hearing my displeasure they waived a charge to the room to say sorry. Unfortunately the charge was only around $13cad so it didn't mean a lot, but i guess the intention was there. That was the only real negative to the trip. The grounds are kept good and clean, restaurants are all accommodating [... read more] to children, the wildlife is nice to have so commonly around, food was all very good and the artificial barrier on the beach area kept the ocean safe and child friendly. The constant use of the trams to get to the other resort for a la carte restaurants and to get to the children's waterpark was more hassle than it needed to be, but definitely not a deal breaker. Also, bring a lot of US dollars. Everything is listed in usd and they do on the spot conversion to pesos that always means you are losing out. I also don't remember everything in Mexico being so expensive, but NOTHING is cheap anymore. A bag of chips in the Cancun airport is nearly $10cad.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Amazing Family Resort

We just got back from Hard Rock Hotel Riviera March 16/17 - my husband and I agreed that this was by far the best all inclusive resort we have ever been to. Check in was a breeze, they provided the extra cot I had requested.Hotel, grounds were absolutely spotless. Loved that you didn't have to worry about a towel card (towels were provided on all chairs) or hotel keys which were already programmed on your wrist band.Cool rock and roll memorabilia on the walls , music playing everywhere on resort [... read more] including live bands in the main building.Considering it was spring break and the hotel was sold out it never felt crowded. There were always lounge chairs available by the pool or beach. Abundance of delicious food/snacks everywhere you went. No need to line up for dinner reservations (max 3 at other resorts) the Hard Rock allows you to dine in any restaurant, without reservations as many times as you would like. We loved the Zen restaurant and French restaurants the best. Use your resort credits at the spa - facials, mani/pedi or massages for a small fee. Best staff at any resort I have ever been to - not one person working there would pass by without saying hello, good morning, how are you enjoying your stay? Truly the loveliest people working there. A couple of small negatives, if you are a beach person this might not be the resort for you. The resort has created a man made lagoon with beach, from a safety perspective really wonderful. You can snorkel, kayak or swim without the worry of the strong under tow (a relief for parents) Also my 17 year old son really enjoys working out in the gym which was on the Heaven side (adult only) he was quite disappointed that he could not access it (no exceptions) Hard Rock , please consider creating a teen gym on the Hacienda side for the under 18. Overall I would rate this resort a 10 - would go back tomorrow if I could :)

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Disappointing stay.

Upon arrival, the desk hesitated for quite some time, and didn't seem aware that I was booked. I was put in a suite (unnecessary, since I was solo), in a building that was still under construction. During the daytime hours, there was constant loud drilling and hammering, which I could tolerate, at first, since I was outdoors during the day anyway. It eventually became unbearable. The wall unit A/C in the kitchen/living room leaked water all over the kitchen counter and floor. This was never  [... read more]repaired so I just shut it off. The A/C in the bedroom started clanging loudly in the middle of the night, which lasted for a minute or so, (long enough to startle me awake), and spat small bits of ice onto the floor. My second day there was no hot water for a shower. Technicians arrived and after several minutes I was told that in order to get hot water in the shower, I would first have to run the hot water in the kitchen. My third day, there was no water at all. This was resolved within the hour, but, still.... This new building is stupidly designed, with the bedroom windows fronting an outside public walkway, and all of it maybe 100 feet from a four-lane highway. I lost patience and was finally moved to another building with three days remaining in my trip. Even this room had noise problems: an intermittent thumping noise somewhere in the ceiling. I wore earplugs during my entire stay in order to be able to get some sleep. The food was mediocre at best. The restaurant service was annoying: almost every day at breakfast, at least, (at least!) three different people would ask me if I wanted coffee. Can't they assign specific people to specific tables? The pool area and the pool itself were annoying: the pool itself was no more than three feet deep; not conducive to any kind of 'swimming'; most of every day was devoted to loud and constant music blaring, and constant shouting from a 'social convenor' organizing and running various activities: trivia games, water aerobics, beach volleyball...pity people like me who only wanted some peace and quiet, to relax! (And the picture accompanying this review page is misleading: that is another pool, which, I discovered embarrassingly, is restricted to condo owners and long-term renters only.) I made my concerns known to some sort of manager, and on my last day, I returned to my room to find a letter of apology, an offer of an upgrade if I return, (which would only happen if I were offered a FREE stay), and...wait for it...a bowl of fruit. At least the weather was ideal.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great family vacation

The grounds were great, service and food was excellent. The beach was awesome. The room service is 24/7. The kids were entertained everyday and everyone was so kind. The dolphin swim was an unreal experience.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great resort with lots to do on site!

Stayed at Maya Beach Resort and the beach in this section is better than at the Palace. Beautiful pools especially like the Adult only pool for a late afternoon cocktail. Lots to do on the resort especially good spot for teenagers. Swimming with the Dolphins a huge hit with our girls. Service was very friendly and food is very good. Only issue it was difficult to get good reservations at the a la cartes. We'll be back!!

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: Great quaint family resort

Great family friendly resort with attentive staff and good restaurants. The kids had a blast in the pool with the waterslide, the jump, and the spinning climbing ball and the kayak races. My son also liked the basketball net in the water and had fun playing with other kids.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Awesomeness

Dreams was a wonderful spot for an amazing family vacation! There was so many fun things to do- the food was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. Great size resort. The dolphin experience was incredible. The beach was clean and nice. Kayaking,sailing kidsclub all great!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Truly a hidden gem!

This was a resort worth more than the star rating because of it's proximity to Xcaret, allowing you to go back and forth during the day for meals and to clean up before the night show. Resort itself was lovely, food was great, Mayan ruins and wild animals on site! Small details to improve like the wifi, long time to get hot water and broken soap dispensers in the showers, rocky beach because it's man-made without natural waves. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful resort

This resort is very clean and well kept, everyone is friendly and helpful. Everything you need is on the resort, but if you want, there are lots of options for day trips. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly.

Barcelo Karmina: Relaxing Resort

We spent a week there as part of a Sunwing package March 8-15. Hotels representatives were waiting outside of the airport to welcome and check-in us. They gave us all info for our room and pre-booked three à la carte restaurants for different evenings and time. We were generally quite satisfied with the resort. It is lovely inside and out. The resort is beautiful and has wonderful architecture and the grounds are landscaped to perfection. There are little balconies on each room to sit on and overlook the resort and ocean. Staffs are working hard all the time. Pools are beautiful. Beach is small and in a man-made cove which is perfect as you don’t get slammed by waves, kids can swim safely and many little fish hang out there for all to enjoy. Sunwing rep Miguel was so helpful and answered all questions. Drinks are plentiful, with many bars throughout the resort with no lineups. We enjoyed variety of food, fruits, desserts and their great coffee.This was the most relaxing holiday we had ever! We’ll be looking forward to going back again and definitely recommend this resort to everyone. Also check-out was smooth.

Paradisus Playa Del Carmen Roulette: Beautiful Resort

The Paradisus Playa Del Carmen was a lovely get away. The grounds were well taken care of & beautiful. We stayed at the Perla side for adults. It was so quiet and tranquille. The Esmeralda side for kids also was great but full of kids! Great if you are traveling with little ones. The food was pretty good. Many restaurants and choices. No complaints about the restaurants. However,we were disappointed with the buffet, very small and not enough choice. For the buffet, breakfast was the best meal, but even breakfast could have been more elaborate. Other places have not only an omelette station, but a waffle station too. Our room was absolutely beautiful and perfect, modern & clean. Made service was excellent! The resort caters to their Royal Service customers. They have private areas at the pool and beach that are secluded and a private full service restaurant for breakfast. We tried to eat there but we're told its for Royal Service customers only! The resort is close by 5th Avenue. So nice to get out of the resort when we had enough relaxing. We walked along a beautiful stretch on the beach, a good 20 min walk to arrive right in town. A cab was inexpensive about 5 or 7 U.S. dollars. Many stores, cafes & restaurants. I loved having it nearby. The service was excellent at the hotel. A lot of staff to help you find your way and answer any questions. We ended up going to a presentation. The gentleman was very nice, but we didn't buy because we had no idea if there is actually value in the timeshare deal. It seemed quite pricey and you pay a high maintenance fee yearly. Even more expensive for Canadians. All in all, my husband and I wanted to get away and have some R&R. We definitely got to relax in a beautiful setting and when we wanted some action we went over to 5th Avenue. It was a perfect holiday!!! Oh yes, one more thing, the nightly entertainment was only average, usually singing and some dancing. Our travel agent Karol from Trip Central was superb and helpful and we will use him again to book our next getaway.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Excellent Vacation

The whole resort is remodeled and has modern look. The rooms are spacious and bed is very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great. Lots of animals. Kids enjoyed the trip!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Six Stars Resort

We stayed from March 06 to March 15, 2017 Room# 31731, came with a king size bed and 2 twin beds for my kids. Located in the villa 17A, which is very close to all amenities, lobby, the biggest pool from the complex, and a couple of restaurants. Excelent vacations, not a single thing to regret, I will be back to this resort right away without a hesitation.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: So much fun!!

This was my fifth hot vacation and by far the most fun I've ever had. Mostly because of the company I had but also because of this resort. The food is amazing, the hotel is spotless clean, and the staff are incredible. We made friends with quite a few of them during our stay and they made our stay that much more enjoyable. The entertainers are friendly and talented, the bartenders and servers are so attentive and efficient, and the show staff were beautiful to watch. He made the two that we did unforgettable and was a fountain of information (we did sea four fun and Compostela.) I can't wait to come back again!
