Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Absolutely beautiful

The resort was stunning, the hotel was beautiful the service and food was amazing. This was are first trip was 9 of us we had a blast from the start to the end. We where all sad to see it come to an end. Plans are already in the works to return next year.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Perfect holiday at an almost perfect resort

Best service and beautifully maintained. Perfect holiday but almost perfect resort. Only real complete is that the buffet food was always cold when I would eat it. Some bones in spaghetti sauce and the quality of buffet is so so. The a la caste were great. No complaints.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: had a great time

Facilities were outstanding - We had a suite. Huge pool, Restaurants open and airy. Food was great - Lots of variety. Antony at Vento restaurant made our evening. Staff was friendly. Shout out to Raymond and Naomi the social conveners. Best beach front in the area.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Amazing trip

The grounds were spaced out perfectly. The food was good, wish they had served more bacon at breakfast...The staff were very friendly and never passed without saying hello. The entertainment crew did an amazing job.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Most of the Staff there did NOT speak English, and only smiled or said HI after I did. The food wasnt that good, and the pools closed at 6 pm. The Security Staff were supposed to keep vendors away from us, but they were too lazy to do so. The General Manager is unprofessional and a liar. The music at the resort is instrumental, on a one hour loop, and is painful to listen to. The customer service is poor, and was our room amenities. However, our view from the room was awesome.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Good resort for the price!

This is a decent resort for the price. The food, including the buffet, is actually pretty good...and the steak house was fabulous. The drinks weren't watered down and the main bar at the front is a great place to relax and have drinks or coffee with friends. The pool is ok, however its not very big and the swim-up bar is kind of cave like, so we didn't like that very much. The beach was great. Apparently the week before we arrived there was a lot of seaweed, however we must have lucked out becau [... read more]se we had a green flag and almost no seaweed all week. And there are plenty of loungers on the beach. Unfortunately, there are A LOT of vendors on the beach. Some work through the resort and some work independently. Our friends purchased a horseback riding excursion from one of them, and had a great time. The rooms are decent and clean, with the fridge restocked daily. We of course tip the maid daily, with cash or items we brought from the dollar store. One bad thing is you get just one key....not even a key card...but a key...and it has the room number on it! Be sure to wear bug spray because although you can't see or feel them, you are getting a lot of bites....in fact my legs were covered with blistering bites. Out of our group of 4, I was the one to get really sick when we got home....to the hospital twice and in bed for a week. Doctors suggest it was something I ate. There is no way to know if it was from the resort or from the food we had on one of the excursions we took. There is a pretty decent market about a 15-20 minute walk from the resort. We felt pretty safe walking there.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Rum & love & sunshine

As a young couple, we stayed at an Iberostar in another destination and completly fell in love with it. When we were given the chance and had saved up to go away to discover a new vacation destination,we'd choose no other than Iberostar. We knew we'd be in fabulous hands! VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Terrific Resort

Just returned from DR. Had a fantastic holiday. Great Resort. Staff is always cleaning. Our maid Isabella was superb. Kudos to Johnny "GO JOHNNY GO" love your full of life spirit as well as Caesar (Markiel) who would actually approach us and ask us if we would like a cocktail. Probably the only thing I would love to see improvement on is the White Wine to a better drinking quality wine. The nightly entertainment certainly could be improved as well and the beds and pillows. Paradise Playa Dorada: Fantastic Vacation

The hotel is in need of a little TLC as do many of the hotels, they have been around for quite a few years and you have to remember this. The hotel staff are very friendly, the food was great, one of the best buffets we have had in the Dominican always hot, lots of it and a fair amount of variety. We enjoyed both the A-La-Carte Restaurants especially The Eden we ate there twice delicious. We were in a two bedroom loft which was huge. A lot of stairs and no balcony but we didn't mind we were hardly in our room at all. We were in a very quiet building too which was nice. If you can get a good price on this hotel you will be pleasantly surprised. We would definitely go back.

Occidental Punta Cana: Good friends made here!

I wish I could give the resort 2 1/2 stars... The guests make this resort a place that you want to be. Everyone is super friendly and it seems like many of them return year after year. The hotel staff were not very friendly or accommodating, especially at the front desk. We had to beg and chase the cleaning staff for clean towels and toiletries. Also, the Transat Representative was not willing to help you or answer questions, unless you were buying an excursion from him. The drinks were decent [... read more] and overall the food was very good. The pizza at the snack bar is great. We wished there was more than 1 bar open at night and not up a giant flight of stairs. Overall the resort is dated but nice, the grounds are clean and the beach is beautiful.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: good resort

Friendly staff and relaxing environment. Food was good in the buffet, great varieties of menus. The room was average, housekeeper did an excellent job and it was clean. The evening shows were fair and cheerful.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Great place but very large

Lots to do and experience. Because of its size and especially the main building ,I felt it lacked a tropical feel. Rooms were great-large and beautiful. Grounds and beaches were very well maintained. We were at a convention and the facilities were excellent. Restaurants very large ,service fast but I felt they lacked a certain warmth to them. Last comment- turn down the A.C.-everyone was cold.

Ancora Private Residence Yacht Club and Marina: Exceeded our expectations

Beautiful marina resort! Food was great! Service was professional! Extremely clean! Spacious suites! Would definitely recommend for those who don't need a beach and are not looking for a party resort.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Beautiful beach and good service

Everything was well-kept and the food was also delicious The staff was attentive and answered all of our questions about anything we had! The entertainment was also decent and there was a lot of choice for food and restarants.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: relaxing resort

the ride from the airport to the resort was very quick. As soon as we got to the resort, the check in was friendly and we had to wait maybe a half hour, which was no problem as they had a bar there. We sat and enjoyed some tasty island drinks, and the cool island breezes coming off the ocean. Walking into our room we were pleasantly pleased. Our room was very clean, and had an awesome balcony facing the ocean. The grounds were beautifully manicured, and there were workers constantly cleaning the resort, and always had a big smile on their faces. The only thing that bugged me was the ignorant tourists who would just drop their drink cups on the beach. REALLY. The beach was totally amazing and clean, as for a bit of seeweed that would wash up every night. At 7 am every morning, they had a young fellow out with a tractor to clean up the majority of seeweed. We spent most of our time on the beach as it was beautiful. The water was amazing and cool. It has a long stretch of beach where thousands of tourists walked it everyday, but it never felt crowded. The buffet was great, as it had a wide variety of food, and real bacon. The guy at the omellete bar was so amazing and friendly, he made my day every morning. The evening buffet was excellent also. They had a Chinese station at buffet, where u pick what u would like to eat and mi amigo cooks it while you watch. Definitely do the al cartes, as they were to die for. My favorite was the Italian restaurant, but they were all great. The grill at the Bucenero by the beach served burgers, hotdogs, chicken, French fries, and pizza, which were very good. The grill was busy constantly. The workers at the resort were very friendly and helpful. The only issue is that they have guys there trying to get u to do a timeshare meeting, but once you tell them no gracias, they seemed to leave you alone the rest of the week. The excursions at the resort were very reasonable We watched the night shows every evening and the team sure do a great job and make everyone feel welcomed. This said, I would like to say that if you want the big night life, this is not the resort for you. We have been to both large chains, and small. This was absolutely a smaller resort, but also an excellent vacation. Within 5-7 minutes you could walk the whole resort. Which is nice because we never once waited in line for drinks, or at the buffets. Thanks VIK for making this an amazing and much needed vacation

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Great resort with outstanding service.

Although as many people have stated the rooms could do with an update especially bedding and furniture. I thought the size and amenities of the room was grest. We were in room 2127 which was close to the beach as we had requested. The room was always spotless with beautiful towel art every day. The beach was gorgeous lots of chairs. The pool was loud and really not our style but we were happy to be at the beach anyway. The staff at this resort is it's best asset.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great time had by all!

We just returned from the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville and had an excellent time. The resort is very clean. Our room was awesome, but tons of stairs. We were on the fourth floor, extremely private and was kept tidy as well. We never saw anyone clean our room, but that was okay too. We enjoyed the food, both the buffet and a la carte restaurants. They did run out of salsa the last couple of days in the Buffet which I found disappointing. Liked the steak house best. Had tenderloin and it was  [... read more]done perfectly. The beach and pool area, as with the rest of the resort was kept clean. Had some fun during the day with frisbee toss, and other pool and beach side games. Enjoyed the BBQ on beach when we remembered. The beach water is cloudy but we still spent hours in it. Our first day in the water we came upon a lot of seaweed. But only the first day, after that there was nothing other than a few fish. There was some entertainment in the evenings at our resort and more at the Gran Bahia Principe within a few minutes walk. The bar shuts down at 11 pm which we found to be early. It would have been nice if they'd stayed open later when we were still sitting around chatting with people we had met. We weren't really inclined to walk over to the other resort. All in all we had a wonderful time. Thank you.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Amazing time !

I would definitely recommend this resort. Lots to do (or not do if you wish). The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean, beautiful maintained beach and pools. My only recommendation is for the fridge to be better stocked - only pop and water provided, no other beverages. We were there for 2 weeks and we wanted to stay longer!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Fabulous!

The resort was really beautiful and clean. The food was amazing! Excellent selection at the buffet. The steak at the Steakhouse Restaurant was perfect. My mother-in-law is an Italian Chef and she said the Risotto at the Italian Restaurant was her favourite meal! The Spa was incredible-luxurious and relaxing.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Solid 3.5 stars

We had booked two garden view rooms and asked for connecting rooms for our family of five. On arrival, our rooms were not close to each other so front desk staff gave us what they called an apartment - king size bed in a separate bedroom and a queen or double in the sitting area and the sofa made up into a bed. I would say it was the best of the beaches at Playa Dorada. Surf was little rough our first day or two and the last couple of days but was very calm during the middle of our stay. Had perfect hot, sunny weather for first five days but wet for the last couple. Lots of beach vendors and people pushing excursions as others have mentioned. We found the food good. Did not eat at the alacarte restaurants but heard some good comments about them. There was some repetition at the buffet but always something different too. Service at the buffet was either really good or nonexistent. Sometimes hard to find a table, other times tables were available but couldn't get someone to bring cutlery. Snack bar was awesome. We hung out at the beach every day. Didn't see the entertainment guys there much so cant comment on them. I think they did most of their activities by the pool. Evening shows that we saw were OK, not great. 2 evenings were rained out. Not much to do in the evening other than the show which doesn't start until 9:30ish and not much to do on rainy days. WiFi way overpriced at the resort but is available at the nearby mall. We enjoyed happy hour at Barrels to Bottles liquor store while the teenagers caught up with their buddies on social media. All in all, good value for what we paid
