Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Fabulous!

The resort was really beautiful and clean. The food was amazing! Excellent selection at the buffet. The steak at the Steakhouse Restaurant was perfect. My mother-in-law is an Italian Chef and she said the Risotto at the Italian Restaurant was her favourite meal! The Spa was incredible-luxurious and relaxing.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Solid 3.5 stars

We had booked two garden view rooms and asked for connecting rooms for our family of five. On arrival, our rooms were not close to each other so front desk staff gave us what they called an apartment - king size bed in a separate bedroom and a queen or double in the sitting area and the sofa made up into a bed. Room was great, technically probably an ocean view but not a great view which was fine with us. No charge for the upgrade. Would not have wanted a room around the pool and disco - would b [... read more]e very loud. Beach is quite nice but need to get there early to get beach chairs. I would say it was the best of the beaches at Playa Dorada. Surf was little rough our first day or two and the last couple of days but was very calm during the middle of our stay. Had perfect hot, sunny weather for first five days but wet for the last couple. Lots of beach vendors and people pushing excursions as others have mentioned. We found the food good. Did not eat at the alacarte restaurants but heard some good comments about them. There was some repetition at the buffet but always something different too. Service at the buffet was either really good or nonexistent. Sometimes hard to find a table, other times tables were available but couldn't get someone to bring cutlery. Snack bar was awesome. We hung out at the beach every day. Didn't see the entertainment guys there much so cant comment on them. I think they did most of their activities by the pool. Evening shows that we saw were OK, not great. 2 evenings were rained out. Not much to do in the evening other than the show which doesn't start until 9:30ish and not much to do on rainy days. WiFi way overpriced at the resort but is available at the nearby mall. We enjoyed happy hour at Barrels to Bottles liquor store while the teenagers caught up with their buddies on social media. All in all, good value for what we paid

Blau Natura Park Resort: Very Enjoyable

Stayed Jan 2016...wonderful holiday, staff was very nice and accomadating. Beach was outstanding and the food was good however a little bit more variety would have been nice. The room we stayed in was just ok...clean but needed updating. Although we did not spend too much time in the room so that was ok. Resort grounds are outstanding!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort

The resort grounds were very well kept. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed our trip and would return to the resort again. The staff were very friendly ecpecially Manny and Carlos our bartenders for the week. The food was good, we tried several alacartes. We very much enjoyed the Gardenview Grill.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada

We have no real complaints about this resort...except for the smoking issue.Smoking is not allowed in the restaurants which is great. .however,as is the case with most Carribean resorts,smoking is allowed in all other public areas...bars,patios etc.As is the case here in Ontario, we would love to see smoking banned in public areas.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: good family resort

clean rooms, friendly staff, not enough restaurant choices, and not enough chairs around the pool when the resort got busy towards the end of the week, lots to do for the kids, would not recommend for a couple without kids. beach was beautiful but way too crowded

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada

We only had one complaint re this hotel,,and its one we have with all resort destinations we have been to...althought smoking its not allowed in restaurants, it is allowed in most of the public areas.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Excellent service

Hotel needs renovation but service was awesome and it was really clean! food could use some variety Beach and pools were beautiful and I love the concept of the resort everything is close and Little pools by the reefs that's beautiful

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Clean and friendly staff

We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Bachata. The staff were friendly and the check in and out process was easy and hassle free. The rooms were spacious and clean and the grounds were lovely. We enjoyed a couple nights of good entertainment. The food was ok and we certainly would not starve but there was nothing that I would say was extra special! We had a toilet that was broken and went unfixed for two days, a television that did not work properly and the smell of sewage was a bit overwhelming at tim [... read more]es! The floors in the downstairs hall became quite slippery when wet! As at all resorts the fight for chairs at the pool and beach were a daily occurrence and the usual 6 a.m line for reserving an a la carte restaurant was an annoyance! All those things aside we definitely enjoyed our vacation!

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: 1 week at Casa Marina Jan, 2016

A just got back from a week stay at Casa Marin Beach Resort from Jan 16-23, 2016. Let me first list the GOOD: - 12 minutes ride from the airport - cheap price $650/person - nice pools - nice beach ( not as nice as Cuba) - good food - Jacuzzi - nice ocean view - well kept grounds The BAD: - None existent service at the restaurants and bars - rude bartenders - smoking everywhere - my wife and I had a food poisoning - outdated rooms - nightly and daily entertainment This is a solid 3 star hotel. [... read more] I would return for the right price.

Catalonia Bayahibe: The Beach!

Smaller resort compared to others but does not lack in any amenities. Food was really good all around and drinks are very generous with the alcohol. Lots of entertainment during the day but they don't harass you if you don't look interested. The pool is very large and sectioned off by depth with enough chairs around. The beach!!! Beautiful turquoise water, white sand, enough palapas and chairs no matter where you wanted to sit. My family lived in the water the week we were there. Servers are qui [... read more]et but friendly and there was a mini plaza to shop on resort. Walking distance to a little town where you can grab a bite, buy souvenirs or take in the sites. The area caters to Italians so the resort mainly speaks Spanish and Italian, many retired European couples at resort which was a nice change from the boisterous loud and at times rude young 20something filled resorts. Definitely recommend this resort if you are looking for great beach, food and a quieter type of vacation. Travelled with two 14 year olds and they loved it.

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellent Resort

This was our first trip to the Excellence. We have travelled many times to the D.R. and this was by far the best trip that we had. The food and service could not have been better. Can't wait to go again.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Great Resort (rooms need updating)

The resort grounds, pools and beach very nice and well maintained. Buffet food is average, some good choices on certain days, but obvious reuse the next day. The staff are generally very attentive, plenty of bar staff. The front desk were helpful. The bedrooms mostly need updating, there are some renovated rooms. We changed room after complaining and ended with a very nice room. The orginal room had many issues. The evening shows were great, after which there was either latin dancing or some oth [... read more]er entertainment. The disco was good, mixing some latin music with modern hits.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Amazing!!

We had an amazing time, the food was top notch and highly recommend the Hunter steak house. The pools were great and the beach was beautiful. We enjoyed going to memories to the waterpark, we all had a blast. The hotel was beautiful and the whole resort was very clean. My only complaint was the beach was a bit crowded and did not enjoy getting harassed everyday in our hotel to buy their time share. Overall would go back in a heartbeat.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: EXCELLENT FABULOUS AMAZING

This resort is the kind of resort that makes you know you will never look elsewhere for a place. Between the excellent food, the kindness of the staff. This place is so clean. Never ever saw any garbage or spills. They're extremely welcoming as well. The beach is glorious. Even with the beach vendors, who we've become good friends with and amazing deals. The rooms are clean, comfortable and attractive. We are already planning our 3rd trip. No need to look elsewhere

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Wonderful resort

The resort was just beautiful, more in the modern side. What impressed us the most is how clean the resort was ,there is a lot of glass at this resort and we always saw someone cleaning. We got exactly what we had asked for ocean view room ( partial) it's just the way the resort is setup. The room was large and well appointed again alway clean. The only thing there were no elevators so if you have difficulty climbing stairs ask for a ground level room. The food was really good, the marche had everything a person could want, any kind of steak to almost any kind of fish...cooked in front of you. The cheese selection was outstanding. Ever night there was entertainment either outside or in the theatre...very good.the only thing that we could not get used to was people smoking every where I wished they had a designated area for smokers!!

Punta Cana Princess: Beautiful resort

This resort was beautifully kept. From the grounds to the entryways and hallways cleanliness was number one. The staff were a delight. They were always helpful with anything you needed. The food was great with a wide and varied selection.

Punta Cana Princess: Totally Awesome

This resort was beautiful as I remembered, from checkin to getting into our rooms everything was perfect! One thing that I didn't understand was that we paid for an ocean view which we could see the ocean from our balcony and we were okay with that but my sister and husband also joined us and they didn't pay the extra for an ocean view and had a building closer to the beach and a better view then us! So not sure why we weren't put in that building but other than that it was perfect. Weather was pretty good to, we only had one day that was raining and we went to the pool but other then that we are beach people! Beach was fabulous walked for hours and enjoyed every minute of our second time there!

Grand Bavaro Princess: Beautiful lush grounds.

Loved all the pathways through this very large resort. The trees and gardens are very large and stunning. The zoological walkway was a nice added touch. This is the best beach in Punta Cana. We have travelled to 6 other resorts in this area. The service was good. The rooms nice except the beds, which were hard as rock. We never had a good night sleep because of this. It would also be better to have proper chairs and a table on the balcony or patio as the lounge chairs provided were uncomfortable [... read more]. The food was fairly decent. The staff very friendly, but there was this one Royal club sales person who was very rude and annoying every day when we left breakfast. His name is Danal or Danil I believe. When a person tells you that they are not interested this should be accepted and guests should not be hassled. Most of these sales persons were good about it except for Danil. We did get a pad for our bed but it was very thin and not much help. It is a large resort, but many trolleys to help if you do not want to walk. The casino is modern too.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: great resort

Good food , variety at buffet and s le carts.clean facilities , friendly staff, pools and bars could have been open longer pool closed at 6 pm and bars at 11pm. Adult only so it was quiet, we were able to use the resort next door for entertainment which included shows, disco, and casino. Overall great value for money spent
