Travelled to Memories Caribe in early May and absolutely loved it . Beach is jaw dropping , pool area is nice with swim up bar . Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to greet you and offer help . A la carte’s were very good . Excellent margaritas , mojito’s and Spanish coffee. Rooms were a little dated but very clean and beds were comfortable . Only issue was bugs and mosquitoes in early morning and at night so be sure to take bug spray ! I will definately be returning!

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great time!
We loved our second visit to memories splash! The rooms are clean and spacious. The people are so friendly especially Ramon who catered to our family every day. The pools, ocean and water park were amazing! We spent all day outside going to different areas. We always found something to eat and the sweets at both coffee shops are so yummy:)

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Disappointing second visit to same resort
Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing Resort , people and travel Agent experience !!!!
We reasonly stayed at Momories Resort in Holguin Cuba. This resort was surprisingly more then we had hoped for . I had stayed in Vadodara in January my first time away ever . And wasnt even sure I wanted to go back to Cuba period! But my husband talked me into going there for our honeymoon . He had never been away either. Im so gald I did! Because we are hooked ! The food was outstanding ! The grounds beautiful . Beds pretty comfy, rooms large and spacious. The rooms always well stocked . plen[... read more]ty of water , towels and blanks. But most of all the people that work this report were the friendliest most beautiful people , they treated us like royalty for a week . We developed friendships with some that seemed a bitter sweet parting when time came to go . we have emails and names and will continue to keep intouch . The guests number where down being end of peek season . which allowed us time to meet people staying on the resort with us . We meet some of the most awesome people . That will forever be part of are memories . Thank you Memories Holguin for making our honeymoon and our Cuban experience one we will never forget . On a scale of 1 to 10 . We give it a 15! Lol I can't imagine anyone not liking this resort 💓
We would like to thank Trip central and are agent Melissa Alexander in the wolfville N.S. location ! She took the time to look and re-look lol to compare resorts that fit are needs and wants . Because it was the first trip I planned , I hadnt a clue what I was doing or looking for. We have decided to plan a family of 7's , first family trip ! Without a doubt After such an awesome experience. We will be back Momeries Holguin and looking forward to working with Melissa again !!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Beach!
Beach is amazing!! Pool area is well kept and great bartenders Carlos and Rey. Rooms could use freshening up but are kept nice and clean, the maids work hard. Decent enough food at buffets/beach&pool grills. But the a la carte is where's it's at for dinner! Overall had a good stay despite a few issues with smells around the resort and no bottles of alcohol in the room as advertised.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing staff made all the difference!
Unfortunately, our flight was delayed by 6 hours, and we got to the Resort in the wee hours of the morning. Check in was quick and easy, and we received an upgrade, being repeat customers. Our room was on the second floor, with an obstructed view of the pool. As luck would have it, our butler from a previous visit went by while we were on our balcony. He got our room changed to building 31, which was a walk out to the pool. AMAZING!!!! Best room we have ever had there. Jorge-Carlos, our previous[... read more] butler, had always treated us very well, but he went above and beyond this time around. The other butlers we had were great too, Adrian, and Reinert asked us every day if there was anything we needed that day. But no one was better than Jorge-Carlos!
Alex on the beach bringing drinks, and Marle at the snack bar. Even the gardener was very friendly, as usual. We had dinner booked at the restaurant close to the pool every night, champagne and room service every morning. If there was any down side to our stay, it was just the usual difficulties of getting an available chair at the beach. Loved our new room, food was always fantastic, amazing staff, and great times!! We will be back again in September.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Seamless
Very easy instructions that made traveling painless. Thanks trip central
The beach is the best I have ever stayed at
All the staff were extremely motivated to accommodate your every need
I cannot wait to use your service again for my next trip
We had an amazing week in Cuba! The beaches at Cayo Coco are the best we have seen in all our travels south. The people were very friendly and spoke English very well. The food was plenty, just not the variety we are so used to having in an all inclusive resort, but for what we paid we all agreed we had a great holiday in the sun & sand!! The best part, only 20 minutes from the brand new airport!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time
The staff are superb, the rooms, grounds, pool and beach are all well maintained. If you are in need of sand, Sun and the sea then by all means go. The food in Cuba generally comes in for criticism due it's blandness. I don't have that complaint. Unlike other places in the region Cuban cuisine is by contrast a staple of meat, rice and beans with little spice, peppers or exotic sauces. Should you wish to have a gastronomic experience each time you eat then there are other options for you in the [... read more]Caribbean. But if all you wish is for the food to be fresh, and available in quantity then the food will sustain you, and your stay will be an enjoyable one because all of one's basic needs are met. Each of the other elements l've mentioned come together to make going there worthwhile. The pristine beach, the all day Sun and life affirming Sun sets make Caya Coco a go-to.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Location but disappointing staff
I loved this resort, partying all night with friends and sleeping in a surprisingly great room with water pressure and no bugs. The only issue was the uninviting staff, aside from the lobby bartenders who were loads of fun. The food was definitely not great but I was too busy having fun to care! At night the resort can be a little boring but a nightclub is just a shuttle away where I spent 5 amazing nights getting loaded.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not Our Happiest Experience
Overall we found the resort to be very clean and welcoming. It was quite large but never felt crowded. The beach was excellent and offered a very positive experience. Overall the food was less than positive as it was very often cold when it should have been hot. As well the room had a very musty odor which made staying in the room unpleasant. Going outside or even sitting in the lobby was often unpleasant of the mosquitoes were numerous and a major distraction. Signs are posted at the beach say[... read more]ing that reserving lounge chairs was not permitted but this was not enforced so trying to find a place to sit was very challenging. The staff overall was not responsive or helpful when seeking answers to questions or assistance. This will be our only visit to this vacation destination.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not 'great memories'
Were at resort April 19-27
Let see where to start, first of all we arrived at Grand Memories at noon on Friday April 19 to find out our room was not ready til 4 in the afternoon.Rooms were preselected. When we finally got to go to our room the bellboy didn't help with our luggage or show us to our room ( needless to say he never got a tip ).Once we got in I noticed toilet seat was missing one bolt and the tv didn't work, and closet doors were very hard to open. The next day we went to the 'quiet [... read more]pool' and noticed it was green, the next day (Sunday ) it was closed,so went to ask our Sunwing rep about it and she didn't know anything and said she would get back to us.So we stopped at customer service and waited outside the glass door and they never even acknowledge that I was standing there, when I finally walked in and asked them about the pool being closed they said it was being cleaned and would be open tomorrow,,,,( 4 days later it opened)
24 hour snack bar took almost an hour to get food and half the time they didn't have pizza.
Beach was great but very crowded because of pool being closed for four days.Beach grill food was the worst food we have ever tasted.
Buffet plates were dirty on the bottom and servers that filled the pancakes used there hands and not tongs that were provided.
'Party pool' was dirty and had broken glass in it.
Maid did not change the sheets that were stained when we asked and room was never swept all week.
A/C was not adjustable and was high or off.
The majority of the staff at the resort were pleasent but not all. Most of the time we never had hot water.
Fridge was not restocked daily .
The night entertainment was good but the washrooms were very disgusting, dirty, and the doors to the toilets didn't close and there was no toilet paper in any of them and someone urinated in one of the toilet paper holders.
I have to wonder what is wrong with people who pay money to go to the resort and then trash it while they are there. Cigarette butts thrown everywhere eventhough there is ashtrays all throughout the resort, people need to have more respect for others.
Huge resort and understaffed.
Would not recomend this resort to anyone.
Needless to say we will not be going to this resort ever again

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Vacation
This was my first time in Holguin, 7th time in Cuba. My boyfriend and I went and three friends joined us. The resort was clean, food was good. Not sure why so many people complain about the food. We all had no issues finding something we liked and the guys actually really enjoyed the food. Drinks were good. Service was fantastic. We had upgraded to the diamond club and considered it worth it. The diamond club beach area wasn’t crowded and you had your own section in the buffet and Luidmila was[... read more] amazing and made sure we were looked after. We got a bottle of rum in our room and beer, water and pop everyday. Kirenia at the lobby bar was super attentive and so quick and efficient. Another star employee. There were lots of steps and it is a big resort but we found some short cuts and if it wasn’t for all walking we would have come back heavier than we did. It was s great vacation. The only disappointment for me was the beach. I am used to the soft white sand in Varadero and Santa Maria. There was seaweed and grass in the water and was very shallow so not great for swimming but this has nothing to do with the resort itself. Some people said the snorkelling was good if you went out far enough. It was my boyfriends first time to Cuba and he loved every minute of it and is looking forward to the next trip. Good job Memories.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Below Average
The staff is five star, the hotel is negative 3; thus, the generous 2 star rating. Rooms were in really rough shape, we saw 30 plus rooms in our group plus our own. Sheets and towels in terrible condition, not very clean and some horrendous stains. Fortunately, we were forewarned and brought a suitcase with our own brand new, pre-washed linens (sheets, duvet, two sets of towels, toilet paper and cleaning supplies; including rubber gloves, wet and dry swiffers.) We left everything for our cleanin[... read more]g lady's personal use at her home. She was thrilled.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hopeless Resort
We visited this resort for one week in late April 2019 for a destination wedding for my nephew.
Rooms: The accommodation was rudimentary with sloppy painting, caulking etc. Walls and ceiling had many squashed mosquitoes on them. The hot water did not work for 3 /7 days, bath tub drained very slowly (likely due to sand in the pipes as there was no place near the beach to wash sand from your feet). Other members in our group had toilets that did not work or they also had no hot water for 1-2[... read more] days. There is a swamp behind the resort which is likely the source of the mosquitoes. We were all covered in mosquito bites by the end of the week. The grounds are well manicured and the gardeners are very friendly and often will pick flowers for you or make cute flowers, hats or grass hoppers out of palm fronds. The walk ways are very poorly lit at night, I would advise anyone to make sure they know how to work the flashlight feature on their phone. There are umbrellas in the rooms but the front desk does not loan umbrellas to you if it is raining when you wish to leave the lobby area which I found annoying.
Food- there are several restaurants on site but these must be booked well ahead and they have very limited numbers of reservations. All restaurants we booked at were only 30-40% capacity with many empty tables. Either they do not have the staff to run a fully booked restaurant or they are not interested in the business. One restaurant made us break up our group of eight into two tables of four. There was only about 1/3 of the restaurant occupied and they could easily have put two or even three small tables together without impeding the circulation in the room but they would not even consider this. I found these type of ridiculous service rules infuriating. The food at every restaurant we ate at was mediocre, no "wow" factor. The cafeteria provides meals for breakfast, lunch and most dinners (as there are so few reservations available in the restaurants). The room is stuffy, dark, smokey at times (from grills working) and noisy. Generally the food is mediocre and repetitious however some of the grilled foods prepared for you while you wait in long lines were hot and tastey. It was not unusual for them to run out of things like bread which may not be back on the menu for 2-3 days. In the 24 h snack bar I ordered a pork sandwich which arrived with no bun as they ran out and the pork was very dried out and gristley. My husbands hot dog was served as a weiner on a plate for the same reason (no buns left), the service was incredibly slow as there main focus is serving alcohol.
Beach- Beautiful view and lovely beach with beautiful sand and gentle waves. The palm frond umbrellas on the beach are in good shape and offer good shade. There are an abundance of beach chairs which are reasonably comfortable. There was a snack bar close to the beach to get drinks and some grilled food which was tastey and convenient.
Outings:
Some of our group did a day trip on a catamaran which included lunch and snorkelling and they really enjoyed this. I and my husband did a bus trip to the cities of Moron and Ciego del Rey. It included a brief visit to an alligator sanctuary which was interesting, a visit to a freshwater lake for a motor boat ride which was a nice break from the bus but not terribly interesting. We were unable to visit the sugar can processing plant for reasons that were not clear. Driving across the island and visiting the town gives you an idea of how most Cubans live. There are many historic old buildings which sadly are in terrible condition as there is no money to repair them. The high light of this trip was visiting a small local metal work shop where they made small sculpture, jewellery etc from recycled metals eg old cutlery. The guide on this trip (Marciano) was very knowledgable and interesting and I would consider him the highlight of that outing.
Check out day was horrible as checkout is at noon and our flight home was at 10:30 PM with the bus picking us up at 19:30. It was a very hot day with no air conditioned room to wait in so we had to camp out in the lobby. Some of our group extended their check out to 16:00 (the latest possible for $11 pesos/hour) so elderly guests could rest.
